Give Solidz some phileo love, KH.

    2. And hey mod, can u please post a new thread every 2 or 3 days? I know u r there! It can't be that hard. Or otherwise, I'm telling Jeremy ... Ooohhhhh~~~

    3. This is a good trailer. Different and better than the original rough version. I like.

Haha.... another KHuang kidding thread, huh. I don't like "bacon" though. I don't think he's fat. I think of KHuang as a slender world-class orchestral musician with a nasty temper now and then, needed as an outlet because he always must be prim and proper when on stage, including during rehearsals.

      Delete
    4. 5'6" and 180 lbs of luvvvvvv. That's khuang.

      Delete
    5. yah khuang probably isn't fat. he's probably all muscle. and i thought he's 5'5"?

    6. Solidz75,

Speak for yourself, hahaha. You have no chance with Via. You may be a doctor, but apparently not a hot shot one. Hahahaha, just kidding.

      Delete
    7. Judging by many threads, we can safely say that both via and KHuang are the Most Eligible Bachelorette and Bachelor in this site.

The only problem is the fans are mostly the same people! :D

      Delete
    8. Are implying they should get together psalm?!

      Delete
    9. no, I mean their fans should really decide who they really want :D

      Delete
    10. So u mean I get to decide their fate.

      Delete
    11. they'd be a good couple i guess. khuang would be the one wearing heels which i don't think he'd mind.

      Delete
    12. Heels?!

Khuang probably has bigger boobs than any Asian girls on this site. He needs a bra!

      Delete
    13. well via is hafl a head taller than khuang.

      Delete
    14. Etane and Solidz75, youe closet gayness is totally creepy.

      Delete
    15. Khuang let bygone and bygone and let's make peace. I missed u while u were gone.

Btw, what size are ur boobs? Double D?

    16. Solidz75, I see that you're still trying to trash this forum so that Lin fans stay away.

You hate my guts because I as a Lin fan am 100% aware of yoir singleminded agenda to trash Lin and Lin fans.

Why do you hate Lin so much, Solidz75? Is it because you as a gay man want to have sex with him but can't access him?

      Delete
    17. Okay i'll try again. Triple D?

      Delete
    18. "You hate my guts because I as a Lin fan am 100% aware of yoir singleminded agenda to trash Lin and Lin fans. "

I don't know about solidz but that's why i continue to point out your false positives because i believe you have agenda to trash lin and his supporters.

      Delete
    19. Hmph.

You're the one that curses people on this forum and hates the Asians here, Etane.

I've asked you repeatedly: Do you hate Asians because you feel the culture doesn't support your closet gayness?

    1. No Phoenix either. But you can create that Tugg event, Brent. With enough interest, it will be shown in the city of your choice.

    2. All ppl surround me except my wife are not Lin supporters.
      I am alone here.

      Delete
    3. U answered your question. Hence no screening for you haters in Dallas ( except u, Brent - we got your back)

      Delete
    4. I remember last week, in the gym where I play pick up games. A guy basically spent an hour in a conversation loudly with his friends to make just one point. "James Harden is way better than Jlin and Rox should start PB." So much hate.......

      Delete
    5. Just give it a try, Brent. There must be some Linspired NY Knick fans in Dallas who'll watch.

      Delete
    6. Too bad, I am not as dedicated as those LOHs are. lol, can't do it. I don even know how many ppl you need to host the screening in your city?

      Delete
    7. Just wait for the blu ray and watch it at home.

Don't be a Jackson Leung crony. I don't think he has Lin's interest at heart.

      Delete
    8. I wonder if Lin or his PR has a say on release date? But the money was already spent, I doubt he can wait until Lin retires.

      Delete
    9. I think it's the movie studios that are likely pushing for early release. They want people to see it while he is still relevant.

      Delete
  3. It's sort of interesting that this movie documentary was made under the assumption that Lin's career was going to end in 2012.

The movie probably wouldn't have been made at the time if Lin's NBA career had any sign of life otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree, I mean I understand that they started this way b4 Linsanity. And, it is actually about the struggle of an Asian American, but the fact that an NBA player with basically only 2 seasons under his belt has already got a Doc about his life is really a negative on his PR.

      Delete
    2. I think this Jackson Leung is an opportunist using Lin's fame and popularity to get his career going.

Lin has gone above and beyond to help him out. He should let Lin focus on basketball especially given that this will be an important year. Lin doesn't need to be bothered with these distractions, which will only rev up the pressure.

      Delete
    3. Based on his story of how he used his personal vacation time while working in MTV to film him, I think the guy truly wanted to tell a story about racism and managed to get a good ending with Linsanity.

Jeremy Lin Schools His NBA Haters In 'Linsanity' Doc
Director Evan Jackson Leong tells MTV News he 'wanted to show the evolution' of how Lin dealt with racism.

But yes, unintentional or not, this movie potentially put a big target on Lin's back with all NBA players, including his own teammates. Jealousy is scary monster.

      Delete
    4. yah so this movie documentary would have been more powerful/interesting if it was (marketed) about racism rather than linsanity.

at least i'd be more interested if it were.

honestly, not too interested in watching the documentary as to how it's currently marketed.

      Delete
    5. market the movie as about racism... right, white people love going to watch movies about that. nevermind the movie with the hot chick or special effects, no, i want to watch that movie about how minorities who don't look like me and have much to do with me are institutionally disadvantaged in a way that also benefits me, weep weep.

get real. no one gives a shit about that.

      Delete
    6. I doubt the mainstream America cares much about Lin at this point to watch this movie. I guarantee Asian Americans will make up majority of people watching it and perhaps NYK fans who will reminisce over that awesome time occurring right before their eyes.

At this point, this movie doesn't mean much in that I think we as fans need move on; Lin needs to move on and I'm sure he desperately WANT to move on with the next chapter in his life. He still has a lot of challenges to face next year and it would be best in his interest to focus on the future.

I think what ever Jackson may say, his primary interest is in himself and his own career as a film maker. He is not putting Lin's interest ahead by releasing the movie.

I don't like it at all.

      Delete
    7. "market the movie as about racism... right, white people love going to watch movies about that. nevermind the movie with the hot chick or special effects, no, i want to watch that movie about how minorities who don't look like me and have much to do with me are institutionally disadvantaged in a way that also benefits me, weep weep.

get real. no one gives a shit about that."

i know your comment is meant as an insult and to show off how smart you are.

but racism is a bigger issue than linsanity. linsanity as presented by the doc maker is just an instance of racism within the sports world.

rather than just an instance, film maker should show how it's systematically done throughout sports while using lin's experience as an example of such.

  4. Jeremy Lin to Utah Makes Sense Even To This Day.

All other teams are set with their point guards except for Utah and Philadelphia. The Rockets situation is reverse in that they set themselves up to trade Lin by signing 2 rookie PGs in July. The Rockets are the only team in the entire league to have 5 PGs; most teams have 3 and a few teams have 4. As it stands now, the Rockets must shed a total of 4 players before the regular season begins on October 29th.

Utah has only 2 PGs: Trey Burke, a 20 year old rookie and John Lucas, a 30 year old backup. Burke was the 9th pick overall, but I don't think he's ready to be an NBA starter right out of the gate - He didn't do well in Summer league; sink or swim usually doesn't work.

Philadelphia is the only other team in a similar position, but it isn't a desirable place to be because their roster is less quality than Utah, yet the players are a little older. And it's new GM, Sam Hinkie, as a former Rockets executive, would certainly be even less receptive to the idea of trading for Lin (recall reports on the Rockets "basketball minds" and Lin).

Morey shouldn't be afraid to trade Lin to a western team, based on what he thought of Lin *during* last season; besides, Morey should take comfort in the fact that Utah is still REBUILDING, while the Rockets are now a contender.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If morey isn't aware of lin's ability to take over games, rockets wouldn't expend so much energy damaging his reputation last year.

      Delete
    2. Last year during one of the Utah games, I thought Utah could really use someone like Lin He was their missing piece.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, Utah could really use Lin's services. I don't know though; they are so conservative; I hope that doesn't mean they don't want Lin - Lin is conservative too (A good kind of way though: Fiscal and moral conservative but social liberal), just not a Mormon.

      Delete
    4. In order to get the job done, Morey should be generous in trade negotiations involving Lin, because teams are fearful that the actual payout to Lin in 2014-15 is almost $15 million ($5 million for this and last season), although it counts as $8.37 million for cap space. (an interesting article http://tinyurl.com/klse29a ).

Also, according to CBSSports, "The Rockets would be willing to deal Jeremy Lin in exchange for another point guard", in which case they have to unload a second PG now (see the article dated June 30th: http://tinyurl.com/kh5mtbx ).

  5. Q&A With J.B. Bickerstaff
Rockets assistant coach talks strategy, small-ball, and the unique challenges of harnessing star power

JBB: "The way we played the pick-and-roll with Omer last year may be different than the way we play pick-and-roll with Dwight so now James and Jeremy will have to get comfortable."

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. LOL SMH.... The Rockets "basketball jerks" are full of shit and full of themselves, always psycho babbling and thinking they are the most knowledgeable on BB. They never did thatwell over the years, overall.

"The way they played the pick-and-roll" was to KEEP LIN OUT!

Bickeringstaff's quote sounds like James's offensive stats would look more normal this season. They better make both Dwight and James happy. The organization filled with bickering staff is really good at causing friction amongst their players.

      Delete
    2. Bickerstaff is just angry no one gave him a coaching job this year. I'm sure kelvin Sampson as well.

It's clear neither are head coach material and it probably comes across on their interviews.

      Delete
    3. Let J.B. Bickering-staff keeps on bickering

      Delete
    4. @Rikki m,

      No, I hope not.

If the Rockets' bickering staff stays bickerers - and if Lin is stuck there for the whole season (i.e, if temporarily pad-Lin's-stat play calls don't the trick), Lin would be in his 2nd year with the Rockets' pioneering Deterioration Program designed just for Lin. All other players are still in the conventional Development program. Lin was not the best subject for the unique program though, because his mind is apparently too strong to crack.

However, we'll never know how effective the program would be on others because I believe the highly original program will be shut down once Lin is traded.

    5. Ztrta then what can you as A person do exactly to change the situation? I for one, cannot do anything, I'm way too far to be able to shank that fool so I have no other option and helpless about it.

      Delete
    6. There is nothing any of you fans can do to change Lin's situation.

However, realize that Lin's battled through much harder situations than figuring out how to fit in with two All Stars like Howard and Harden.

Never forget that Lin HAS GAME, so he'll make the best of any situation that he's put into.

    7. that's khuang's mesage to you lin fans to stop complaining about how rocket's are misusing lin.

True, the soundtrack made it look like they're shaolin students hell-bent of seeking revenge for the Linjustice.

You, Etane, have even less faith in Lin's game than the Rockets do.

All season long, you've been hating on Lin's production and mocking his scoring prowess.

The Rockets utilize Lin as a SHOOTER, which is something that you have written Lin is utterly incapable of doing despite the stats that totally debunk your LOH haterade of Lin's game.

The Rockets believe in Lin much more than a LOH like you does, Etane.

    1. Eff morey. Whether it works out or not, Lin needs to leave when the contract is up (if he is around). He needs to remember how he was deceived by this lying POS!

I hope Lin goes back to NYK. The fans will welcome him back with open arms.

      Delete
    2. Uh huh, Solidz75.

So your boy Glen Grunwald is so much more truthful than Daryl Morey when both Grunwald and Woodson are LYING THEIR ASSES OFF about retaining Lin.

At least Morey PAID Lin, unlike Grunwald whose turned out the be a far liar because of his "we will match anything up to a billion dollars" garbage quote.

      Delete
    3. But will Dolan and Melo? Lin will be back to NYK when he is like Kidd, too old and way past his peak but hopefully after going through a great career.

Please do remember that Knicks are also just as much of lying sons of bitches as Rockets are. They also lied not resigning Lin.

      Delete
    4. Of course, Khuang jumps in with his typically myopic view.

Dude no Knicks fans love their owner, Dolan - who made the final decision about Lin because if the ruse morey pulled off.

I'm talking about the Knicks fans who embraced Lin like no other. Sure there are bad apples (no pun) who are mad that Lin left and hate him for it ( natural human reaction). But I believe in the end they would love to have Lin back. They truly appreciated what Linsanity was about and still think of him as one of their own. Lin fed off their energy. Plus NYK fans/ media would've never tolerated the way Lin was utilized last year. They would've badgered Woodson about why they were trying to make Lin a Novak.

Don't care what Lin said about NYK. He loved the fans and the fans loved him back. I'm sure Lin would love to go back as well.

      Delete
    5. Khuang I'm not sure why u keep mentioning money. Money doesn't mean shit. It's pride, respect that matter much much more. Stop saying morey paid Lin. I'm sure Lin would love give all that back if he could take back last year. Lin will do well no matter what.

      Delete
    6. I get it.

This is juat another LOH autojerking by Solid75 to discredit Lin's ability to make a proper decision.

The Knicks paid Lin less than $800K for the 2011-2012 season and $0.00 for the 2012-2013 season. The Knicks EJECTED Lin, which is consistent with Solidz75's longstanding stance that Lin isn't good enough to play in the NBA.

Solidz75 is just PISSED that Lin got paid well.

I'll bet that if the Knicks retained Lin, Solidz75 would be on this board as a LOH screaming about how Lin was overpaid and overhyped.

      Delete
    7. Obviously, this tells u where your priorities are. All u care about is money. Do u really think when Lin was going thru what he went thru last year, his saving grave was " at least I'm getting paid..".

It's about being a " man" and being treated like one with loyalty and honesty - - something u know nothing about. Respect matters much more to Lin than money. U probably knows nothing about that because u clearly do not know what it is like to be respected as a human being.

U r the only Lin fan I know who keeps bringing up money. That is the argument the haters use. Who cares Lin's getting disrespected - at least he's getting paid. He should shut up and just play.

Who is the true Lin hater khuang.

      Delete
    8. Solidz75, you LOHs don't order us true Lin fans around.

I know that you HATE LIN and think he doesn't deserve to be paid in the NBA. That's why you're always hating on Lin's money just like JR Smith and Carmelo Anrhony did.

Pride? Your HATER PRIDE had been stomped on by Lin and the other Asians on this board that you hate. Lin's KICKIN YO ASS in the bank and on the court.

You as a LOH cannot win, Solidz75. Lin is too good and we Lin fans will just keep debunking you.

      Delete
    9. Admit it, Solidz75 a

You as a LOH feel that he DOESN't DESERVE his contract.

      Right, trroll?

    10. The ONLy thing I admit is that you smell like piss, sweat and BO and your boob size is Double D.

      Delete
    11. Ah, once again you as a LOH choose to dodge questions.

Since you won't answer anything with anything other than curses and personal attacks, I'm going to go to town on you since you're this forum's LOH punching bag.

      -----

Solidz75 is nothing but a dirty LOH who's here to try to curse and attack this forum so that genuine Lin fans stay away.

Any time somebody posts anything positive about Lin, Solidz75 will make sure he ATTACKS.

Solidz75 has always believed that Lin has NEVER belonged in the NBA, and so he's been angry that Lin has PUNKED his troll Asian hating ass.

To the members of this forum who are genuine Lin fans unlike Solidz75, don't let him flame and curse you out of here. Come to this forum and don't be afraid of expressing yourself as a Lin fan.

There are only three hardcore dedicated trolls on this forum currently active: Solidz75, Etane, and Hunchback. All three of them have a deep sexual attraction to male bodyparts and a pronounced HATRED of Jeremy Lin.

      Delete
    12. KHuang,

Solidz wants Lin to go back to NY to play for the fans ≠ Solidz is LOH.
Plus I see he praised u above.

And why are we back arguing who of the NYK and HOU mgmt is the lesser villain? The fact of the matter is only Les was willing to pay for Lin, Morey and McHale should never got the credit. They didn't want Lin back. Dolan and Melo also didn't think highly of Lin.

And let's agree to disagree cordially. Too many hate posts will cause us to get 'Load More' too soon.

      Delete
    13. Well well well.

It seems that Solidz75 indeed did answer my question at 8:51.

Indeed, Solidz75 doesn't think Lin deserves his Houston contract.

Solidz75, in the past you have repeatedly written on this forum that Lin should've played FOR FREE for the Knicks.

Why, Solidz75, do you think that Lin has less game than his replacement Pablo Prigione? What are the basketball reasons you have that Prigione earns more than the $0.00 that you think Lin is worth to the Knicks?

See Solidz75, I think it's good that we're discussing your long held belief that Lin doesn't have enough game to be paid NBA money.

      - "is slow"
      - "can't jump"
      - "doesn't shoot well enough to be a reserve in the NBA"
      - "doesn't train hard enough"

You want the sex talk to stop? Take it up with Solidz75 and Etane, not me.

And if you want to accuse me of being a homophobe, I guess we should start defining what a "homophobe" is. I'm a straight guy who doesn't like it when gay guys indulge in sex talk about my body parts. Does that make me a "homophobe" to you, Rikki?

Yes you red it right, VOICE OF REASON! LOL DAMN! That troll was talking about being from Sacramento is a bad thing and that people of Sacramento are worst kind of people. Not to mention that the troll also bringing bestiality here and yet KHuang still applaud it?

Keep going psycho u lunatic. I'm just gonna sit back and watch you self destruct. Plus u smell like a hoagie.

    22. KHuang, I understand you felt the first attack by Solidz using inappropriate sexual term. My suggestion is to call him out on it but don't retaliate with worse homophilic terms. It just makes thing worse. It's better to take the high road.

I'm going to try to be frank and be impartial as you know I respect you much.
Please don't let your anger get the best of you. Don't stoop to worse sexual innuendos.

And also please don't call jlinisasuperhero a voice of reason because he is the real troll judging for his multiple posts to attack Solidz. He is really not on your side because he hates Solidz.

Believe me, I know Solidz's choice of words are not the greatest so please call him out on it. Just don't make it worse with using more hateful words. The rest of us are confused because we know Solidz is not a Lin hater, just a bit pessimist at times. How can a real hater posted so many good things about him all this time?

aside from you three guys in your self-absorbed circle, other readers just skip columns in which your names are all clumped together in a thread. so you're typing a bunch of crap that no one reads except yourselves -- what's the point? unless you are so sad for attention. no one cares about these crap posts. take your dump in the bathroom where it belongs.

Psalm's more diplomatic and peaceful plea for sanity, and occupatio's self absorbed, self righteous means of sounding like an asshole while doing which, btw, typically invites more fireworks from short tempered poster (assholes) like me than getting the intended effect of actually getting people to back off.

In deference to Psalm, I'm backing off the chatter about khuang's BO. But for someone who declares not to care about our worthless posts, u sure like to butt in - having to edit your post just to ound like a bigger asshole. I know the difference between "joking" and "trolling". Solidz75 is here to TROLL, not joke.

The reason Solidz75's behavior is "confusing" is because genuine Lin fans don't constantly fire flames at Lin and Lin fans, But if you view him as an anti Lin troll who's here specifically to attack Lin and his fans, then his behavior makes perfect sense. Same goes for Etane and his constant racial and religious slurs.

As for jlinsuperhero, I know that he'd stop trolling once Solidz75 stops cursing and flaming.

  11. Going back to some basketball talk here.

My feeling about Knick management at this point is not of anger but more in the realm of mockery. I think because of their owner, they don't think thru issues that well. Yeah the way Lin had to leave left a sour taste in our mouths but it did make financial sense for then looking at the financial penalty they would have to end up paying due to luxury tax.

But IMO, what morey ended up doing was much worse. They took this kid with a bright future but out of sheer desperation (let's face it they had noone to sign at that point) and viciously try to ruin his career ( however unintentional it may be). They stole a kid who felt quite betrayed and betrayed him again. Don't care how much money Lin got. By the way Lin made it seem, they put him thru hell. We all saw that. I saw it in person.

What I loved most about the Knicks were the fans. Man watching Lin play the lakers in the afternoon at the MSG and shocking the world like he did. The Knicks fan embraced him like the rockets fan will never be able to. They fueled him. Y'all saw that. They even signed a petition to keep Lin in NYC. Houston can't wait to get rid of him.

In a few years when Lin's contract is up, things will be drastically different for the Knicks. I think if the Knicks made a fair offer to sign him, he should certainly consider it - at least for the fans who are still asking for Lin back.

The worst thing Lin can do when his contact is up to resign with Houston. I hate the fans. I hate the organization. I don't want to root for this team anymore.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well I agree with that sentiment. But my hypothetical scenario involves Lin playing so well that Houston decides to keep him the entire three years. If so, that would mean Lin is playing at a very high level ( for example, imagine harden gets hurt this year and Lin is resurrected - okay, I take back what I said before- I don't want harden hurt - but if he does, and linsanity 2.0 happens with Howard- Lin could cement himself as legit top pg of the league.

If that were to happen, Lin could pick a place to go... And given his popularity, he may be welcomed.

., a lot of hypotheticals.. I know. But I just want Lin to go a place where the fans will welcome him with open arms. Perhaps Brooklyn?

      Delete
    2. It's too early to make a hypothetical decision where Lin goes next if he finishes out his 3 yr contract with Houston.

So many things can happen. He can play so well in his spot-up shooter role and secondary playmaker with Howard and Harden that he plays a big role to go to the Finals or win championships. Or he is not that effective in this role because Houston didn't know how to use his strength so he gets traded. It would be Houston's loss if that's the case and he will shine in another place.

I see the short-term goal is for Lin to improve, play healthy and contribute a lot in the playoff. Let's hope for the best chemistry between Lin and Howard. That's the biggest factor of Lin's success in HOU at the moment.

Personally, I think Houston system to have the PG just to push the pace and makes threes doesn't bode well for Lin in the long-term because he will never develop to be the main playmaker.

For the moment, just ignore HOU fans who don't know any better of how Lin's strength can help them win championships. It's really HOU loss if coaches can't figure out.

      Delete
    3. Yes Psalm, I guess we all Lin fans can agree that being PG that just push pace and shoot 3s (limiting) isn't good for Lin now or ever.

But still the biggest threat and obstacle have always been McHale and Morey. Howard will be the key in this whole fiasco. Will Howard respect and like Lin enough to cover Lin's back at least just as much he once was with Hedo? Or will he play with McHale and Morey instead? That is my biggest worries since Houston signed Howard and failed to ship Lin away.

      Delete
    4. I wish Lin would leave Houston and let those Houston fans on the dust. There's no way to treat a player coming back from a knee injury.

      Absolutely no way!

      Delete
    5. Solidz75,

I believe Carmelo's dislike of Lin made things very complicated for the Knicks, since Carmelo is their franchise player; also because the coach had to cater to him (he wouldn't have been hired otherwise), you had 2 VIP of the Knicks team against Jeremy Lin.

Therefore, all the verbal and written press (other than Woodson's infamous "Lin is our starter" lies when they thought Lin might be able to leave) pointed to the Knicks concern for cap space and the more punitive luxury tax. But this really relates to the fact that they thought of Lin only as a backup, mainly because they didn't want Lin playing alongside Carmelo. I said "mainly" because that's complicated too: Lin would have been a backup against 15 PGs, but NOT against the the other 14 starting PGs; and certainly not against Felton if Lin's usage was the same playing in NY (sure Lin needed to improve but it was because he was in the "sink or swim" situation without a training camp and the tight lockout schedule). Since the Knicks wanted to use Lin for a backup, they couldn't justify paying him even the average salary (otherwise they would have signed him BEFORE the free agency)- Felton, as the average starting PG, is making below average.

      Delete
    6. Why the hell are we talking about this still? This was a year ago. He's with the Rockets now...why? Let's talk about the gold rush in California since we're discussing history..particularly Sacramentoe where Solidz is from. Sacramentoe is a place where Solidz ancestors, Billy Bob Smith and Irma Jones smith milked their first cow.

      Delete
    7. Dolan's quote about how he felt Lin betrayed him and that was "supposedly" the reason for not signing him: That occurred ultimately because of what I wrote above. At that LATE stage, after letting Lin enter free agency, it didn't make any practical (financially and other ways) sense for the Knicks to sign Lin.

      Delete
    8. Z, I'm sure Carmelo made the situation more difficult. But what it came down to was money. Knicks were not going to take the risk and overpay for Lin.

I don't think Lin would've been a back up pg in NYC. First , in the role Felton was playing last year, Lin would've excelled. Second, the NYK fans/media wouldn't have allowed Lin to get marginalized in the bench.

But let's not lose focus here. My primary reason for Lin to go back to my is for the fans, who truly appreciate what Lin brings to the table. I loved watching Lin play there. And having seen Lin being treated by this franchise that was supposed to elevate him, I'm doubtful that Lin can ever find a trustworthy situation at this point in his career.

      Delete
    9. You have NO FAITH in Lin, Solidz75.

You're trying to get Lin fans to believe that Lin cannot succeed unless he's back with the Knicks, preferably as an UNPAID player.

  13. i'm not gonna blame houston fans. they really didn't have any affinity towards lin in the beginning, and lin's slow start didn't help.

jeremy was a homegrown 'knick', in a way. they saw him come off the end of the bench and become linsanity. there's more of an ownership of lin there. he's their guy, and that's why the fans got behind him. linsanity was theirs.

houston is different. their homegrown guy was dragic. lin came with a high price tag and high expectations that he didn't meet earlier in the season, and in the playoffs. keep in mind that more than half of people in houston couldn't see any rockets games last season. they heard about the slow start, and saw the playoffs. linsanity belonged to the knicks. they really didn't have anything except a 25mil man. if lin had stayed a rocket and became linsanity in houston instead of nyc, i'm sure their feelings towards him would've been a lot different.

i agree with psalm - too early for hypotheticals. but regardless, i don't think he'll ever be as loved as he was in nyc. wherever he goes, linsanity expectations will follow him and unless he plays up to the level and delivers a championship, he will always be underrated. but who knows, if he stays with a team long enough and people actually gets to know him and the impact he has on the the community, they may come to love him, not for his basketball skills but as an overall person.

but then again, it's a little pointless to be talking about this because he doesn't care whether people love him or not. that's not why he plays.

    1. My post was in response to an article about how Houston might keep Lin if he plays well. Not at all looking that far ahead. Just a dream scenario that I admit is way too early to talk about.

No matter what Lin says, Lin is human. And whether people root for him or not will have an impact on him. I know he loves the ny fans (called them the best fans in the world) and I know NY fans love him like no other fans ever could ( for the reason u described). I would love to see become a hero back in NYC when it's all said and done.

But let's not belabor that point. A lot of things need to happen first.

    2. Never had any players coming back from a knee injury received so much negative criticisms. The mass of Lin haters just explain that this country is sick with racists and liars who distorted the truth and lashed out at the only Asian American basketball player in the NBA

They were trying to ruin his career while he was working hard and consistently improve on his game in spite of tremendous changes in the season since his training camps and almost all of his trusted teammates were sent away in the middle of the season.

Yet Lin managed to put up great numbers in a few games; 38 against the Spurs and 29 points against the Thunders.
Remember, Lin only took half as much shots as Harden in a game last season. He had been standing near the sideline playing catch and shoot which he had never been good at.

The abuses of Lin was unthinkable in Houston. Those Houston Lin haters were the lowest of the lowest basketball fans.

      Delete
    3. Lin is remembered fondly but no longer embraced by NY fans.

He's still trashed in the NY tabloids, plus the fans boo him. Many fans still believe that Lin rejected NY when it was NY that rejected Lin.

In Houston, Lin was recovering from that knee surgery for half the season. That negatively influenced the way the fans, coaches, and even people on this site saw him. The healthy Lin who had an even more impressive stretch than Linsanity is the real Lin.

If we want to talk about REAL love for Lin from a crowd, I can vouch for Phoenix. Lin gets cheered here as much as Goran Dragic does, and Lin isn't even a Sun. I can't speak for other home arenas, but I certainly can speak for Phoenix.
