It's funny how Conley's nunbers this past season are pretty much the same as Lin's. However, everyone feels that Lin had a terrible year and Conley had a great one. With Jeremy coming into the season 100% healthy, I'm expecting at least a 10% increase across the board.
1st. happy bday. you're not young anymore. next time mchell calls says "he's young, he'd be alright", you should slap him upside his head.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteKeep your head up. Mike Conley is being paid the same amount as you over the next 2 years, so you're certainly not overrated or overpaid. Do tune out the haters.
3rd. Khuang smells like bacon.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday Lin.
thought he is a banana. white on the inside and rotten outside.
DeleteFried Twinkie.. White on the inside, greasy in the outside.
Deletewoo that's a good one. even the shape is just right. short and pudgy.
DeleteYou two old white guys need to get your hands off yourselves when you're fantasizing about me, Etane and Solidz75.
DeleteYou are two LAME cyberstalkers.
How da hell did We become old and white? Are these words going to be repeated over and over again? It's soooo insulting.
Deletewell he didn't deny he's a fried twinkie.
DeleteI think he is busy eating one and greasing up
DeleteHis keyboard and pants. Wait a minute... I don't think that's grease..
You guys are just LYING YOUR ASSES OFF about being Asian.
DeleteI'm not fooled, racists.
I WIN.
DeleteI've accurately described Etane and Solidz75 as exactly what they are: two white old sexually frustrated men who want to get it on with Asian men but are continually REBUFFED.
No need for me to post any more rebuttals against these two cyberstalking losers.
Etane and Solidz75, enjoy your fantasizing about my body parts. YOU AIN'T GETTIN ANY.
Mmmmmm bacon.
Deletebutter ball turkey stuffed with banana cream stuffing... must resist..
DeleteSolidz75..do you stuff bacon in Etane's butt while your mom watches?
DeleteVying For the Rockets' Starting Point Guard Spot (i.e., after Lin is traded, since they're trying).
ReplyDeletePatrick Beverley better watch out! I think the Rockets will be grooming Isaiah Canaan to compete for the STARTING SPOT with Beverley. Canaan is one of the two(2) brand new rookie point guards that the Rockets have acquired this Summer in preparation for trading Jeremy Lin. Before the Lin trade they now have a whooping 5 PGs (Their roster stands at 18, so they have to unload at least 3 players before the start of the regular season).
At such a young age with no NBA experience yet, I don't think Canaan has to compete for the first backup PG spot with Aaron Brooks for very long. He looks smart, sounds smart and is full of swagger ( Q&A With Isaiah Canaan with Jason Friedman, Rockets.com). And the Rockets drafted him for the explosive shooting talent he's known for; and he said he's worked hard on his superb physique while he was still in college. And - Canaan is mentored by non other than the smartest and hardest working PG in the league in Chris Paul (Also, Paul is the dirtiest PG! The kind of cheating that the NBA allows only for superstars who least should need to). By the middle of the season, this youngster could be the starter over Beverley. Beverley needs to work hard and smart to keep his starting spot with the Rockets. I'm guessing that the Rockets 4th PG (after Lin trade) is there just to get his stats pumped up for a short period for the Rockets to "sell", which has been one of Morey's noticeable modus operandi.
Sorry about that. Here's the link: http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/qa-isaiah-canaan
DeleteLet's me guess. Is he repped by world wide Wes and Leon rose?
Deletehe sounds exactly like the type of pg that morey is looking for.
DeleteEtane,
DeleteYes he does look the Morey's type. Morey sure know how to make his players stressed out and anxious! I don't know if excessive amount of that would make players work harder. Most NBA players already work so darn hard; not much time off. I guess one could always hire a better trainer. They sure earn their money. I feel sorry for guys who make less than $2 million per year - they should voluntarily raise Parson's salary or give him some endorsements.
Solidz75,
DeleteYou were pretty close. Isaiah Canaan is represented by a top 10 agent (Mark Bartelstein) from a top 10 agency (Priority Sports): http://hoopshype.com/agents.htm
Solidz75..do you stuff bacon in Etane's butt while your mom watches?
DeleteEven if Canaan is able to shoot as well as Steph Curry, I doubt the Rockets would hand him the starting PG job. At this point he is kind of one dimensional. He needs a lot of work on defense and general NBA PG skills. If he's able to run the offense half-way decent AND shoot the 3 like Curry, the Rockets would be foolish not to start him over Lin. As a Lin fan, I'd want him to be the starter only if he's the best PG on the team. Barring a trade or injury, Lin should be the best PG on this season's roster without a doubt.

DeleteYes. NO more Khuang Bashing (okay, just one such post per thread - let's be realistic) if we get a new thread every two or three days in the off season.
DeleteConversely, I will intrepret the mod's absent response as his/her tacit approval for me bash KHuang.
lol solidz your posts are mild compared to khuang's binge of racial and homoerotic slurs tacitly approved by mod because khuang kissed the mods ass haha. "i appreciate you mod, have a great vacation!"

DeleteOops, just realized I forgot to english-caption the vid above: the airport sec guard didn't know who JLin is, and scolded him for throwing his mini-balls at people/ creating a scene.
DeleteDoes this moron see the camera following him around?
DeleteSo Lin is not that popular in china as advertised.
yah wut is that guard worried about. not like he's going to lose his government job.
Deleteisn't there a government policy there not to throw mini-balls at a gathering of more than 25 people? Maybe he's just doing his job :}
DeleteLin always has a run-in with security guards like the one who wouldn't let him in the MSG.
lol he was stopped by msg guard for "being" asian. you'd think lin'll get a break when he's in china.
Deletetrue :) The guard was probably thinking, "He's no Yao Ming! Who's this short Asian guy throwing mini-balls disturbing peace?"
Deletei am sure that security guard is going to get fan mail "security guard of the year!"

ReplyDeleteSHANGHAI INTERVIEW - DRIBBLING
Happy bday, Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteAlong the same vein as this post, Morey wrote in a reddit Q&A: (btw, I've never been a Morey hater, I view him neutrally in terms of effect on Lin's game. The people that stifled Lin the most last year were 1. McHale 2. Harden).
"It is amazing to me that all the time I encounter people feeling negative about Jeremy's season with us. I have chalked this up to:
-- he started off slow, mostly do to getting 100% back from injury
-- very high, unrealistic expectations after his time in New York
-- had a rough ending in the playoffs, again due to injury
-- people generally remember starts & ends more than anything else
-- people generally compare things to their expectations when forming opinions versus look at the big picture
Last year was Jeremy's 1st full year in the league. Essentially his rookie year. If last season would have been his rookie year and he never would have played in New York, right now people would be appropriately talking about him incessantly as one of the top young rookie stars in the league. He was the starting point guard on a playoff team in West at age 24!!!"

real-dsb, "btw, I've never been a Morey hater, I view him neutrally in terms of effect on Lin's game. The people that stifled Lin the most last year were 1. McHale 2. Harden."
DeleteI share your view.
At least he did say Happy Bday on Twitter to Lin..lol
DeleteWhen I saw his longest reddit answer on Lin, I chuckled because he probably did a copy-and-paste from his prepared answer on Lin ;} He was dying to answer the question on Lin because he knew it would come up.
DeleteMorey probably watched how Taiwan and China celebrated Lin's birthday plus DHoward singing Happy Birthday and wanted in on the action. That speaks volume. It means Lin won't be traded before the season starts.
psalm = harbinger of bad news
DeleteHe essentially repeated the pitch he gave to all the gms when they were low ballng him for Lin.
DeleteI can't believe there are still people naive enough to believe morey is blameless. Where do people think Lin got the idea that he was to be the face of the franchise to turn this team around before the season started?
from people lin was allegedly seeking approval and validation from i guess.
DeleteNope. It was Morey 100%. He is the one who used that pitch to get Lin. I don't think Lin is arrogant enough to see himself that way at all. Calling him a foundational piece. How this will be Lin's team. Go back to all the quotes morey was spewing out of his lying mouth when Lin was signed. I remember feeling quite excited myself that Lin will be the primary focus of the team. Effer lied.
Deleteoh damn i got it wrong. then why did jeremy say his expectations were unrealistically high when it was set by the head lard in charge?
DeleteI'm sure Lin remembers Morey's lie.
DeleteAfter saying how Lin will be an essential part of the future and the leaser of the franchise, he took all that away whn he got harden.
Lin was expecting himself to be the leader and play his game without the restrictions imposed by melo in the Knicks, but the team didn't cater to Lin at all after harden came over. In fact they belittle his role.
This is why Lin became frustrated. That's why he felt his goal to become linsanity was unrealistic and felt like shit and helpless.
I think in some ways, this was implied in his testimonial. Like the classy guy he is, he is not going to blame others and himself. But we all know what happened and why Lin was frustrated.
I'm just looking forward to his response when he gets back. A lot will be clarified.
yup jeremy didn't set his expectations too high. he was simply lied to. and he didn't want to blame anyone during his testimony. so, he blames himself. mature? yes. realistic? not sure. therapeutic? maybe.
Delete100% No doubt in my mind this is EXACTLY what happened.
DeleteSolidz75..do you stuff bacon in Etane's butt while your mom watches?
DeleteSolidz75,
DeleteThere are still quite a few EXTREMELY NAIVE people even amongst some Lin fans that come to this board (maybe they are youths)- even with a mountain of evidence that were presented over the year, citing their interviews, Lin-dissing sound bites after games meant for "naive or stupid people", etc. (Sigh, NO I will NOT provide this "proof" over the year now). Apparently they don't even bother to read most other people's posts here: Otherwise how could they think of Morey so kindly after all that Lin went through both on and off of the basketball court last season. SMH LMAO LOL. Both Morey and McHale have been positively reptilian against Lin!
ztrta - you have some very intelligent people posting in this forum who think morey is upstanding in regards to the way lin is treated.
Deletei think both of these people are life long rocket fans. i am sure one of them is.
Etane, that's true.
DeleteAnd I forgot to add: Some people DO NOT follow the topic or well informed either because they aren't that interested or they just don't have enough time - which is fine and understandable. BUT what bother me is that THEY THEN ACT LIKE THEY ARE WELL INFORMED ON THE SPECIFIC TOPICS they chime in !!! I, for example is well informed because I had the interest and TIME to keep up with everything Rockets since last season (even though I lead a very active life).
Agh... sorry about the grammar typos and rushing.
Deleteyah it's fun to argue back and forth. but, sometimes, what some of the people here say completely defy logic or completely exposes that they haven't been watching the games or following up on what's said during interviews but just repeating something they heard or read somewhere.
Deleteit's ok my pet peeve is i hate to proof read. half of my posts are infested with grammar/spelling mistakes. sometimes my posts flat out doesn't make sense.
DeleteZtrta exactly. I absollutely hate it when people use Morey's sound bite as a proof that he is innocent. Morey says one nice thing about lin and some people automatically assume Morey thinks highly of Lin, that Mchale was the mastermind behind Lin's marginalization last season. Even after Lin's testimonial, they don't see it.
DeleteBtw who cares about spell grammar check. U know how hard it is to edit your posts on this particular site on your phone
I didn't say Morey was blameless. I don't think he helped Lin out last year (say, by forcing McHale to involve Lin more). But he also didn't purposely stifle Lin's game like McHale. I think Morey just let McHale coach however he wanted, that's why I view him as neutral.
DeleteWhen Morey gave his pitch to Lin, it's not like he had a secret Harden deal and was lying to Lin at the time. If the Rockets roster remained the exact same as when Lin was signed, Lin probably would have been the featured player. But when Harden landed in Morey's lap, it completely changed the Rockets' strategy for the year. To think that a GM would forgo an opportunity to acquire and feature an all-star level player just to keep a prior promise... now that's naive.
It's the nature of all businesses these days. There's no loyalty, it's all about right now. Hypothetically, if Morey could trade Dwight + Harden for Lebron, he'd do it too, forget about whatever promises he made to them. Coaches always claim that starters can't lose their spot to injury, but if the backup does well, guess what...? And it goes both ways too. A player can leave a team and city that has done nothing but adore him and offer him max, for a bigger media market and more endorsement money. Don't be naive, it's the nature of the business.
Morey forgot to mention that Harden's a year younger than Lin...
DeleteReal.. You are arguing from a clutchfan centric point of view. We are looking at it from a Lin Centric stand point. Morey is a lying piece of shit. Yeah call it business but I'd argue that he just gave up in him after preseason games.
DeleteU can think what u want but stop posting Morey's compliments as a proof that he loves Lin. That is what I call naive.
real-dsb ag acts like he or she is Morey's agent, who doesn't seem to realize (or want to admit) the main reason Morey went on the Reddit AMA, yet again, was because he knew questions about Lin would come up. He put Lin in a positive light to make him more tradeable by highlighting facts that many people already knew (JUST COUNT how many headlines are floating that say "Morey Defends Jeremy Lin"... It's also PR). Morey-McHale team has been doing that since late last season, after all Harden-related agendas were accomplished. The problem is that their "changed" attitudes toward Lin don't match what they publicly stated/implied about Lin during the season. No wonder it's a hard sell. The solution is to undersell to get the job done. The alternative is to pad Lin's stats for a while first, but there are costs involved there also.
DeleteThis real-dsb ag has conveniently CHANGED THE SUBJECT of the thread to rebut other people with, "It's the nature of all businesses these days. There's no loyalty, it's all about right now. Hypothetically, if Morey could trade Dwight + Harden for Lebron, he'd do it too...." YOU'RE CORRECT about that; that's how NBA business is done (how could we not notice!) but that's ANOTHER SUBJECT, which, by the way, NO OTHER TEAM HAS EVER TREATED A PLAYER LIKE JEREMY LIN just because he was going to be traded. If Howard, Harden, Asik or Parsons were to be traded, the Rockets would NOT treat any of them the way they've treated Lin. Lin was treated so weirdly and badly - and dissed him in public consistently** (though sporadically) - BECAUSE THEY HAD ANOTHER *UNIQUE* AGENDA, an agenda which I and many others here have pointed out since early last season.
** I put *constantly* because I've noticed that criticizing players in public once in a while by coaches isn't unusual.
I find it strange that some people point fingers at McHale at first, then Ho Chen(poor Ho Chen, is he the acting GM or the newly appointed CEO? Does he carry enough weight to topple the whole scheming?) but defend Morey. smh.
DeleteI think we all pretty much agree Morey is not blameless.
DeleteMcHale has the sin of commission while Morey has the sin of ommission.
But both McHale's actions and Morey's inactions say one thing. Lin is just a role player in their mind, not a future All-Star.
So Lin in his limited role just needs to open their eyes by staying confident and showing he can do it all as a lethal shooter or playmaker. He needs to open their eyes and other GMs that he is a future All-Star.
"stop posting Morey's compliments as a proof that he loves Lin."
Delete"This real-dsb ag has conveniently CHANGED THE SUBJECT of the thread"
I didn't post Morey's compliments as proof that he loves Lin (the only thing I said about Morey is that he is neutral towards Lin). Actually, I posted those statements because they reinforce what JLinfan#1's original post was about, that Lin had a decent year but was viewed negatively by many, whereas other players had similar production and were viewed as a good year.
Happy 25th, Jeremy! May God bless you more to bless others more!

Happy bday , JLin!
Why compare their age 25 stats (which are generally better than age 24) with Lin's age 24 stats? Might as well compare apples to apples and use everyone's age 24 stats. As you can see, Lin outperformed them all at age 24, in his first year as a full time starter.
ReplyDeleteNash: age 24, 98-99, 1st year as full time starter
Conley: age 24, 11-12, 5th year as full time starter
Felton: age 24, 08-09, 4th year as full time starter
Lin: age 24, 12-13, 1st year as full time starter
Per 36 stats at age 24:
Nash: 8.9 pts, 6.2 ast, 3.2 reb, 1.0 stl, 36% fg, 37% 3pt
Conley: 13.0 pts, 6.7 ast, 2.6 reb, 2.3 stl, 43% fg, 38% 3pt
Felton: 13.6 pts, 6.5 ast, 3.6 reb, 1.5 stl, 41% fg, 29% 3pt
Lin: 14.9 pts, 6.8 ast, 3.4 reb, 1.8 stl, 44% fg, 34% 3pt
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteThere may be some inflation to Lin's per36 stats due to faster pace of Rox (I don't know what the pacing of the other teams were, but just saying).
DeleteBut Lin's numbers are very impressive considering that he was not the main ball handler (handling it less than Harden, and sometimes even less than Parsons as well as the backup PG), not to mention having to pass to Asik with the Butterball (it's a brand of turkey!) hands.
Keep in mind that Conley (4th pick in draft) was considered a draft bust when he first played in the NBA. That's also true for Chauncey Billups (3rd pick in draft). The PG role perhaps takes more time than any other to learn, so it isn't surprising that PGs make take more time to develop and break out. Indeed we have seen Lin making substantial improvements to his passing skills and reads of the defense since his NY days.
Now that Conley is respected (post-season success is so much a part of that, as opposed to Lin's post-season absence), it is remarkable that Lin's regular-season numbers look so similar to Conley's but Lin's season is considered a bust. Not just a bust, but somehow 'proof' that Linsanity was a bizarre anomaly and that it was a fluke all along. Just goes to show how the boxscore can be the same but the perception is totally driven by the narrative.
DeleteI don't know what the stats on usage are for Nash and Conley and Felton, but Lin was the lowest usage starting PG in the NBA and was lower than even a few reserve pgs.
DeleteAlso remember that Lin has played for more teams in more systems than any of those players have. That gives him less continuity with a single team than the other players had, yet he outperforms them anyway.
Remember that Lin's also negatively impacted by poor officiating, horrendously bad scorekeeping, and arguably poor coaching. He's not respected the way those other players were even though Lin has significantly more game.
Post season success plays a big part of how a player is perceived by the general public who do not follow many games -- and I think that's not unfair.
DeleteMore confessions from Lin: He sleeps with a teddy ruxpin at night.
ReplyDeleteHe actually made an avi. Man that's some dedicated trolling.
Deletehey khuang, i thought you're here to fight the LOHs who are here to destroy Lin's image.
Deletei don't see you actively engaging in your own manifesto!
Khuang sleeps with a teddy bear every night. Of course it doesn't bother him.
DeleteI'm better than I thought.
DeleteNow I have one LOH cyber troll in Etane flaming another LOH cyber troll in Hunchback. The LOHs are turning on themselves!!!
I should add some Butane to Etane by mentioning the one thing about Lin that drives him CRAZY with lust/anger: CHRISTIANITY.
If there's one thing I'm learning about closet gay male behavior from Solidz75 and Etane, it's that the darkness of the closet makes these trolls BLIND.
Delete... and then that closet gay blindness of Etane and Solidz75 leads to their usage of constant sexual fantasizing in order to make up for their inability to attract male lovers (particularly Asian male lovers).
Deleteyou read it here first folks. khuang is here to defend trolls against people who are here to fight against trolls.
Deleteand, what does that make khuang?
I just find it amusing that Khuang went back to the same post to write three replies in 10 minutes, each post more ridiculous than the previous. Kid has issues.
DeleteEtane and Solidz75, you guys are rubbing yourselves raw!
DeleteI seem to have really outed these two. It's actually hilarious and entertaining at this point.
I'll also gently remind you two racist closet gays that Lin probably doesn't want either of you as his boyfriend any more than I do. He probably wouldn't appreciate you two LOHs calling him a "chink pussy" like you have done on this board repeatedly.
I will constantly repeat this fact: there is nothing wrong with you guys being attracted to Asian men, Etane and Solidz75. But when your romantic overtures get rebuffed by straight guys like me, don't be so "hard" on yourselves. Move on because there are many more men out there who would be happy to be your "bacon" and "banana" in your sex romps.
Aww, Solidz75 is spurting anger (among other things).
DeleteHe didn't get his bacon today, so he's locked himsself up back in his closet.
I wish you the best of fortune in finding the man of your dreams, Solidz75!
This is his fourth reply. Can it get any crazier? Let's all wait for the next one, shall we?
Deletepsalm - khuang needs a friend. wanna show some christian charity and take him to one of those gay conversion therapies?
DeleteUh oh.
DeleteI've REALLY pissed Etane off by mentioning Christianity (heh heh).
For over a year, Etane has been flaming Christianity (look at the previous thread).
Gay conversion of the sort Etane mentioned is one of the more controversial aspects of modern day Christianity.
Etane's homoerotic impulses (see his lusty "banana" talk above) would likely find the concept of gay conversion to be offensive. No wonder he's constantly trashing Christianity.
I love khuang's juvenile tactic to get other people to fight on his behalf.
DeleteOther Jlinfans, Asians and now Christians. Shit don't work khuang. Just man up and fight your own battles. Seriously.
psalm. i make you a promise. and i don't break promises like solidz does.
Deleteif you take khuang to gay conversion therapy and he's successfully converted to a straight man, i will NEVER again thrash chrisitanity.
I need not enlist others to fight on my behalf when everybody here can simply watch you FIGHT YOUR OWN SEXUAL URGES, Solidz75.
DeleteI think it's great that we are openly discussing this issue, for your frustrated sexuality is why you as a LOH have come onto this board to flame Lin and Lin's fans.
You have my full understanding and suppport, Solidz75. Even though I do not have any inkling of what it's like to be attracted to "man bacon" like you are, I still can appreciate your struggles.
Honestly, I would prefer that you find peace and self sexual acceptance in your life. You know that I as your seemingly most mortal enemy here would applaud you if you came to that understanding.
Look, you don't have to lash out at other members here in order to express your sexual frustration. Just be yourself and don't flame people here. If you treat yourself with respect by honoring your inner urges, others here including myself will like and respect you as well!
How about you just stop trashing Christianity without using your nemesis to motivate you, Etane?
DeleteHow about you leave a bystander like Psalm234 out of your homoerotic suggestions?
How about you just get out of the closet or at least stop peeling your bananas for people here to see, Etane?
well, well, well .. this was supposed to be a nice G-rated Lin's birthday party, guys. Nothing good will come out from continuing this thread. Believe me.
DeleteIf the real Jeremy Lin were going to show up, he'd probably be exiting to play Candy Crush (BTW, I finally finished that cursed game :)
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI get to feeling that he hates you more than me, Etane. U must really get under his skin.
DeleteAnd I thought I was doing a good job. I suck.
I sincerely hope Lin doesn't come to any forums includimg this.
DeleteHe needs to shut all the negativity out an figure out for himself what he can do. I don't see how twitter, clutchfan, etc could b considered helpful in anyways. Why does he even read all the negative tweets anyways?
I can guarantee you if Lin is a normal person he'd be curious to check out this site or twitter feed once in a while. After all, this JLinFan#1 site has supported him since before Linsanity broke out and he mentioned it in one of his old interviews.
DeleteDefinitely put a different context if Lin was reading all of this above us, right?
I wouldn't blame him if he didn't want to stick around that much negativity either.
i think it's cuz i've been calling for lin to be traded very early on, so his employer asked him to target me.
DeleteC'mon, Etane.
DeleteDon't give me so much credit.
I'm just a basketball nobody who doesn't work for the NBA. I WISH I could work for thw NBA as some sort of basketball person.
Personally I see Kevin McHale as a mediocre head coach who doesn't know how GOOD he has it with Jeremy Lin. Daryl Morey to me is a basketball novice who had some inkling of Lin's winning ways and is struggling with the idea that Lin indeed is as good as the Rockets' secret statisticians (and franchise owner) said.
The reason I could never work for McHale or Morey is because I'd tell them exactly I wrote here if they asked me my opinion of Lin!
alright mr. "Lesanity" who kept preaching mchell is great for lin's development. *clap clap* good acting.
DeleteAgain, Lin needs to stay off any forum. This is why he got into problem in the first place.
DeleteI highly doubt he comes here.

ReplyDeleteHa, ha, Clippers home game vs. Rockets costs around $400 at a "decent" (not that great) seat. Don't mind paying but having to beat the traffic hours to get there is something I don't want to do. Without at least a decent seating, it's better to watch through League Pass.
ReplyDeletegosh tickets are expensive. can only afford nose bleed seats. but then i can commentate from the nose bleeds and report to you how i saw the game on the jumbotron like khuang does.
DeleteHeaven forbid we watch what you watch on your TV, Etane.
DeleteNot all of us get excited at watching "Brokeback Mountain" like you do.
Come on now, it's not fair to hijack eb's nice thread too. Pls bring the fighting back up there so others can read in peace.
DeleteI was going to say CA tickets are way too expensive, eb. You can go to the Suns game 4x in the first 10-20 rows if you find the right deal in stubhub. LeaguePass all the way for that price!
Sac games ar cheap. Second row for 180.
DeleteWatching in person wise, for me, baseball is more fun and cheaper, even though I like basketball more than baseball. Regular season basketball games are boring.
Deleteah, I forgot they didn't move to Seattle.
DeleteAnd 180 is not cheap for a cheap family like mine :)
I agree, psalm234.
Deleteeb5attorney, I would be honored if you ever decided to join psalm234 and me at a Lin Suns home game (the Phx crowd LOVES Lin, seemingly more than Houston does).
We've had our differences in the past, eb5attorney. But I'm willing to put all that aside and start new. You know that I truly respect your basketball intelligence and learn a lot from you. I'd love to talk to you and learn from you in person.
psalm234, we could meet at a restaurant before the game at the Chinese Cultural Center. I'd love to meet you and your family. Besides, I get engrossed in the game when I'm in the arena and have trouble shifting into "social mode".
Let's not let the trolls deface this Lin fan forum, guys.
Experiencing 115 degrees and 110 degrees in the EVENINGS two weeks ago was not fun. I will never complain about Irvine weather.
DeleteNo. Watching basketball at court side is amazing. U see the game moving so fast. People looks so much more athletic than on tv. And watching the players interact with each other on the bench is quite fascinating.
DeleteWhen near court side tix at relatively cheap as they are in sac, definitely worth it.
i've never been a basketball fan but was contemplating going to a clipper game when lin is in town but... maybe scratch that idea now.
Deletemy employer has a vip box at the pond so went to a few games last year. i heard that hockey is really fun to watch live. honestly i was yawning all the way through.
I'm sorry but I'd go crazy if I'm watching a game with khuang wih him incessantly speaking all the nonsense into my ear - just to show off how much basketball knowledge he has. *** shudders***
DeleteThough I agree with you eb5attorney, Phx is not that hot during the NBA regular season.
DeleteActually, the arena is cold. The Suns staff told me that they do not heat the arena during regular season games in our so-called Phoenix "winter".
Anyway, I meant what I said about respecting you and looking forward to learning more from you.
i am sure he's much nicer in person. swarmy fake with ulterior motive nice.
DeleteMy vision is too slow to follow hockey puck. My favorite sport is good boxing.
DeleteSolid watches from court side, while I watch from far above where players seem like ants. If I sat on the court side seat, I am sure I would enjoy the game also. Although I enjoyed Dodgers game, I rather hike than spend 6 hours, driving, parking, walking, watch and then drive back.
DeleteI suggest Etane, Solid, KHuang and I watch Lin game together, take a photo together and then argue about the game.
It was pretty hot in Phoenix when I drove by Phoenix and stopped at some Asian Fusion restaurant called "Sochu something". Food was pretty good. When I walked out of the dark interior, I thought I walked into a sauna.
Deletesure we're in the same area i think. don't think khuang can make it. he can't meet up during rocket games cuz he has to work.
DeleteCultural Center sounds good, KHuang :) Not sure when the date is but let's plan tentatively. Perhaps you can teach the kids one or two kungfu/violin moves :]
DeleteI could never follow where the hockey puck is in TV. If you like good boxing, you must have liked hockey too, eb. lol
I could never understand why the hockey refs let them fight.
I was about to buy a $400 ticket to see Clippers and Rockets, but the very thought of Lin getting benched by Mac for Bev stopped me from clicking the "buy" button. I also saw long time ago Shaq play in Honolulu, and players actually appear to play better on TV than in real life.
DeleteOut of all sports venues, the most worthwhile money wise is tennis ticket which allow you to view practice matches and then one or two good matches very close up, especially during 3rd or 4th rounds.
Not sauna, eb. Oven. It's dry heat here in Phoenix.
Deleteeb was drunk on shochu so he couldn't tell what humidity it was.
Deletewell, there is only one HOU game (Feb 23) in Phoenix, KHuang.
DeleteAnd a small possibility he might be traded by Feb 1 trade deadline.
So perhaps Etane, Solidz, Eb want to join us? You can have a nice winter vacation in Scottsdale resort.
Yes, you are correct psalm, the heat just hit my face; my feet got hot just walking on the pavement. Vegas was even hotter.
DeleteTwo or three years ago, I did a Scottsdale walking food tour around the Old Town, near where a large shopping center was located. And there were some apartments near a canal whose prices were depressed at the time. I wonder if the prices came back.
DeleteSolidz..you from Sacramento dog..that explains it. You must have two buck teeth (no other teeth) , and your wife must be your cousin or maybe nephew. How's your cow?
DeleteThe owner of the Sochu something restaurant was Jimmy something. Couldn't drink sochu because I was passing through and stopped by to try out the restaurant.
Deleteoh haha you meant we go watch a suns game not a clipper game... hmmm...
DeleteIf Etane and Solid agree to watch a Lin game with psalm and KHuang, I might actually attend, because this might be more fun than the actual game, especially if Lin gets benched by Mac.
DeleteWill Solidz bring his cow from Sacramento? He might smell like pooh.
DeleteWe can kill the cow and cook and eat it.
Deletewoo that would mean there's 5 of us. we can form a team.
DeleteLOL....make sure Solidz takes off his cow bell and his overalls before you eat!
DeleteI'm searching for 11/14 ROX-NYK tickets.
DeleteI'm looking for the seats behind visiting team. Currently, the price is around $500 <-- still hesitating buy or no buy, may wait until close to 11/14 to see (1) if JLin gets traded (2) someone can't make it, and is eager to sell his/her tickets.
U guys know I'm only attending if Via comes. Let's make it happen.
DeleteEb5attorney, Scottsdale apartment prices will ALWAYS look depressed compared to those of LA!!!
DeleteIt'll be so weird...[and wonderful] if you all come back from the meet-up as best buddies. =P
Delete[Male bonding, Solidz哥, no girls!] :)
Solidz...make sure to introduce Via to your cousin-wife from Sacramento.
DeleteWhat does 哥 mean? I hope something good like awesome.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Deleteit's like 'brother'. :)
DeleteMeh...Brother!!!! That is quite disappointing. Isnt there anything sexier?
Deletepst solidz, it's a hint. Like a 'brother'.
DeleteI'm helping a brother out here.
Psst, brother like in. " yo wattup bro??" I hate it.. Hate it.. Hate it...
DeleteI was hoping for something more e_ _ _ _ ring. =p
"Isnt there anything sexier?"
Delete- I don't know how to write 'Sex God' in Chinese, sorry.
=P
via, not sure if solidz wants endearing or engagement ring
Deletethings can get easily lost in translation :)
it might be time to set up some skype date.
wear a mask if anyone is shy.
just an idea :p
First a goat, now wear a mask?
DeleteStop it, psalm...smh.
[Just kidding, psalm.] ^^
that's a brilliant idea! One of you can choose a goat mask or Phantom of the Opera one. I should go into a match-making business :p
Deleteif both of u are interested, DM on twitter then I'll set up the anonymous rendezvous :D
wait, I should set up a bidding system who wants the 1st skype date with via. But oh well, solidz is a strong contender/bro. He can go first. ;-}
psalm the undaunted...you could be bringing about the Apocalypse here, lol. [psalm <3]
Deletek, i've used up my #-of-posts for this convo, haha.
oh, goat mask, so it's a tragedy from the start? T.T
Delete[Freudian slip?] =P
just kidding..
lol i thought we were putting 5 guys together to form a team. but all solidz want is an endearing skype date with role playing.
Deletehoes before broes! (no offense via = P)
I didn't know you respected my basketball intelligence, ha, ha. I am more of a soccer guy (EPL, La Liga and UEFA), and I admit that I am not very excited about basketball after the Linsanity. I only follow Lin news time to time. Three times when I followed basketball: Bird and Magic rivalry, Jordan years, and Linsanity.
ReplyDeletedon't worry that doesn't make you any less knowledgeable about the game than khuang. i played in hs but hardly ever watch nba. yet i can tell his bball knowledge is all fake.
DeleteIf I had a chance to watch Messi soccer game vs attending a Lin basketball game, I would probably choose a Messi soccer game, unless it was a playoff game, especially now that Barcelona has the great Neymar. Last year, I watched Real Madrid vs. LA Galaxy at some LA college stadium, and it was like watching pros vs. college soccer players. I think Real Madrid won 4-1, but basically Real Madrid played with LA Galaxy players.
DeleteSolidz..you from Sacramento dog..that explains it. You must have two buck teeth (no other teeth) , and your wife must be your cousin or maybe nephew. How's your cow?
ReplyDeleteSolidz..feel free to respond :). You know a non-reaction is a reaction. Anyway..you make perfect sense now. Since the only thing to come good out of Sacramento is herpes...and since you are from Sacramento....well...you get the picture.

Jeremy Lin Birthday: Celebrating Rockets PG with Sickest Career Highlights
STEVE NOVAK @stevenovak16 54m
ReplyDeleteHeaded to Beijing to meet up with my good friend @JLin7. Unreal to think where basketball has taken me and how uniting the sport can be.

JLIN ARRIVES AT BEI JING CAPITAL INTER
DeleteNATIONAL AIRPORT.
Sign: "We love you more than Parsons."
FROM BEIJING FANS
"We love you more than Parsons."
DeleteLOL. You hear that, Bieber boy?
You can't steal JLin's fans in Asia by your "friendship" with him. ;-)
I feel sincerity between J and Novak's friendship.Aside from Landry Fields and David Lee, he is one of those people who sincerely like Jeremy as a person and respects his game, even if they aren't team mates anymore.C'mon, Novak said,"Jeremy is the sweetest guy in the team" (Knicks days),that statement will probably burn Novak or put his masculinity under scrutiny.
DeleteI like it when I get slammed by impressions (ex.,"Oh I thought you were this stick-in-the mud type, but you're actually fun and crazy!"),but with Novak I see his friendship with J is genuine, plus he probably feels that Jeremy was the only team mate who believed in his game, even if fans scrutinize him for not playing defense or one-dimensional scoring.
Isabel, Novak is indeed a good buddy.
DeleteBut do you know that only 5 ex-Knicks teammates still followed Lin on twitter?
And only 1 of them Lin did not follow back.
It kinda tell us who Lin thinks are his real friends.
Hm, the fun-and-crazy mud-loving Mrs. Lin? cool :p
Psalm, yeah.even Jerome Jordan who is playing now in a basketball league in my country, they're still buddies and followers.I'm expecting to see Jerome roaming the Arena this preseason because Jeremy will be here.
Deletenow we're off to the 'mud' comment ;) I'm pertaining to Novak. he used to look like a serious guy to me, someone who doesn't joke around and stuff, the practice-home-basketball-home type of guy.well turns out he is as rowdy as Jeremy is.
Happy Birthday, Lin ♡.♡

ReplyDeleteThe light bulb in my head suddenly beeps: Lin's message is actually meant for the league's coaches; if Lin is given the natural PG role by coaches having faith in him, let's get him out of Houston and he will create near Linsane wins record for the franchise. ^_~
ReplyDeleteLet's hope they get that message. =P

DOUBLE DOUBLE,LIN LIN,EXPLAIN EXPLAIN
ReplyDeleteFull translation please. I can only understand few phrases (yes I still suck at Mandarin.I need a tutor stat!)
Here's a quick translation...
DeleteJeremy: Thanks for getting my ball.
Shu-How: OMG are you Jeremy Lin?
Jeremy: Yes, I am. What's your name?
Shu-How: I am Lin Shu-How.
Jeremy: What are you doing here?
Shu-How: I am studying English. Do you know the definition of the term "double-double"?
Jeremy: (explains double-double)
Shu-How: Oh so double-double means being able to do two things well at the same time.
Jeremy: (confirms and talks about ability to shoot and drive)
Shu-How: Oh I understand. I am a good student as well as a good ballplayer.
Together: I am Lin Shu-How, and we are double-double.
thanks thanks CDub. what I understood about this is:
DeleteJeremy: (explains double-double)
Shu-How: So you mean double double is being able to do different things at the same time?
-thanks for the clarification.
