  1. GSW just won the series and advanced to the next round.
HOU Rockets can make it too. Just play with your hearts, Rockets. You can win this game and the next.

Let's win this game, HOU Rockets!

  3. If Jeremy is unleashed, we may have a shot to advance to Western Conference Finals. That is still 1 BIG if thou

    1. Amen! What I like most about Jeremy is that he knows that he doesn't have to play to please anybody, that he is playing to glorify GOD and all GOD asks of him is to remain faithful. GOD knows what he is doing in Lin's life, and HIS plan is always for the best, eventhough it is not evident now or ever.

    2. Amen, bros!
May God look good with Lin's plays and attitude!
God, don't let the haters make you look bad :D

  5. I can't decide whether it's better for them to let Jeremy Lin play in game #6 or not, because I'm guessing the Rockets will lose regardless (But I hope they win the series. Plus Lin should be healthy by then). Regardless of how well Lin plays, he'll be blamed if they lose; if they win, they might say they almost lost because of him - or just ignore him.

I think McHell and Sorrey would like to prevent Lin from playing, since it would make the Lin's backup "appear" better than him, playing without one of the Thunder's top player. They must have been gleeful that Lin didn't play in their 2 winning games.

Even though OKC is without Westbrook, game #4 in Houston was so close, so I'm not sure the Rox would be lucky 3 in a row. In game #4, Durant didn't get enough touches (their normally backup PG, Reggie Jackson, who turned 23 just 12 days ago, was 7 of 18 shooting; Durant was 12 of 16). In game #5, OKC made sure that Durant took the most shots but they were unlucky with 3-point shots (For example, what is the likelihood of Martin missing all his uncontested 3-point attempts?).

    1. With respect to durant getting less touches than Jackson, remember durant for much more ft attempts. If you factoring in the shooting attempts, no question he was more involved than Jackson.

    2. Almost nothing can be certain the only thing we all can be sure is that Lin will get blame or get no credit either way. When he has a chance take it.

  6. I would want Lin to have fun enjoying the games.
Win or loss, Playing or not are not his decision.
Next season, everything would be different. Everything shall be decided after the training camp. The off season is more important. If Lin develops good enough, he will be the starter.
In the playoff, you have seen the strength and weakness of all the players in the Rox; except Jeremy. e.g. Harden can't play in the 4th, his performance goes all the way down. Beverly is not good at play making. ABrooks is not good in defense.

Lin is an all around player. He's still an X factor in the playoff. That's good. Keep people guessing. He has done enough to bring the rockets here. The rest is up to the coaches and his teammates. He'll be great if he is healthy. WestBrook is not. Lin is OK. What more do we want?

Just enjoy the game like Jeremy does. If they need him, they will call for him. It is a long long time.

    1. Agreed. If he's healthy then he will play.

Either way though, I no longer care what the haters and trolls say.

Lin has done really good all season, 82 games, and yet he's hurt for 2 and all of a sudden those haters just turn on him.

Whatever... I see his career in terms of years so he'll have the last laugh.

That being said, I do hope he's healthy and plays well to shut them up :)

  7. Sit and wait for rehabilitation is much better than volunteer and take the risk of injury this season. This season is almost over. The real challenge should be in the next season. Let him stay healthy and improve on this season.
This injury of Lin is a kind of blessing.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't know about a blessing...but yeah, if he's still hurting then he shouldn't play.

Without Westbrook, Houston might be able to win the series without Jeremy, and then he'd be fully healthy for the next round.

People might say that he might be benched if they advance...I doubt it. They'll be facing either the Grizzlies or Clips (probably the former), and Jeremy was crucial to beating the Grizz for his help-defense on Z-Bo and he led them to a win (w/o Harden) against LAC.

Bev and Brooks are fine against, er, Reggie Jackson. But not against Conley or CP3.

  8. Jeremy FINALLY went through contact drills today, which is a promising sign.

My guess is that he'll be dressed and available off the bench. Which is fine.

If the Rockets can pull off this epic comeback AND Jeremy doesn't re-aggravate his injury, then I fully expect -- not hope for, but expect -- Linsanity to take off in the next round.

  9. Jeremy Lin has to play. it's do or die. if he can walk, he needs to play. it's time to toughen up. It's not time to heal. he'll have the whole offseason to heal.

    ReplyDelete
  10. David Lee does a BS Reed stunt to motivate his teammates and crowd by playing... On the other hand. virtually everyone except (some of) us wants Jeremy NOT to play and disrupt the current chemistry. What a freaking contrast.

It just goes to show you how little respect Jeremy still garners from others. He ain't motivating anyone including his teammates by coming back now.

I think at this point in this series, Jeremy should only play as a reserve player - off the bench..to be used in emergency situation ie injury or foul trouble. And from hos standpoint, he should only play if he is absolutely CONFIDENT that he is ready to play with no restrictions, unlike what he attempted in game 3, where he was clearly limited. Clearly, if he can't fully participate in a shoot around them absolutely not. I know he must feel desperate to come back , but this is not the time to be rash.

However if he were to come back in this series, game 6 in Houston should be the ideal place vs game 7 in okc, when Jeremy will be much more unconfirtable. Then again the Rox may never get there.

It's gonna be an interesting night.

    1. I have to disagree.

First of all CluckFans (if you still read that site, I don't) isn't representative of Houston fans in general.

In addition, they surely don't represent what the *team* feels.

I'm sure the team would love to have Lin play and help them. He's definitely the engine that makes them work better.

As for the fans on this site, I think most of us want him to play if he's healthy.

I have no doubt that if he plays, he'll IMPROVE team chemistry. And I bet his teammates themselves know it as well.

  11. Option 1: Lin gets to play, during 4th quarter, too, for at least 25 minutes and gets controll of the ball when he does, Rockets win becaus he abuses their weakness in Fisher and Jackson.
Option 2: Lin wont play or just for few minutes at spot up shooter, the Rockets will suck some ass and most likely wont pull out another win...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Option 3: Jeremy plays only because the Rockets are down big. He comes in and leads them to a comeback win. Linsanity 2.0 leads them to victory in Game 7 and a deep playoff run.

    2. Hahaha, @zxcvb, Part 3 of the Lin Trilogy :)

    3. I so want Option 3 to happen :D in game 6 or even better 7!

If Rockets' threes are not falling, that's when Lin's help is needed the most.

  12. I was happy that Rox won the two games without Lin. This is the evident that McHale/Morey needs to convince Les to let Lin go. Also, this will save some CAP space to acquire another 1 or 2 more star players. Now here is where the rub is. Even if Les is ok with the trade of Lin, I don't think Stern will allow it to happen. The Rox is scheduled for an Asian tour during preseason next year, he is not going to disappoint the asian sponsors on this tour without Lin's participation. I feel really bad that Lin will have to stay in Houston for at least one more season. Unless they can pull a "Harden style" trade which happens right before season starts.

We can always hope McHale changes his way to allow Lin to be THE PG next season.

    Miracle happens.

Are the Rockets better off without Jeremy Lin?

I think a better question should be,

Is Jeremy Lin better off not playing for the Rockets?

SOMEBODY has gotta stop Reggie Jackson who has been having a Russell Westbrook impact against the two defenseless point guards in Beverley and Brooks.

    5. Reggie Jackson drops 20 (7-15) and Beverly is some sort of defensive stopper. Lin has to tackle a beast like Westbrook making him go 7 for 23 and somehow he is considered weak defensively. Jackson is house cat compared to a panther like Westbrook.

  27. I think Lin will play but limited minutes and definitely won't start. If Beverly and/or Brooks get in foul trouble, then Lin will play more, but I think McHale will only give him 10-15 mins to rest Beverly and/or Brooks. If the Rox win the series, then in the 2nd round of the playoffs, Lin will eventually get back his starting role. It was such an unfortunate and unnecessary injury for Lin because in game 2 first half he was playing decently and I think he would have played better and better as the series progressed.

The only only upside in all of this is that if McHale and the Rockets keep winning without Lin, then Lin is more expendable in the off-season and then hopefully he gets traded to a team that really wants him like the L.A. Lakers or Dallas. Hoping for that.

    2. Lol McHale limited his mins even when he was healthy. If he starts to light it up then he will get his mins, but doubt McHale would give it to him. He doesnt really trust Lin anyways...
Hopefully they win tonight so he'll get his spot back. I have a feeling that he had to come off the bench only so he could play if not, they might not even let him play...they think he isoed and ball hog to cost the game that he did play. Truth fully Lin isnt even a ball hog, he preaches team ball so idk why theyre benching him. They better with him just saying....

  28. At this point, Lin should not care whether he gets the blame for the loss. He should play if he's healthy enough to play, because playing will help him improve. Let's say he sucks, then so be it; at least, he knows he has to improve. You can't be afraid of sucking in anything you do in life. Only one thing that upsets me about Lin is that I know he's good enough (he may not be an All-star yet but he's pretty good already), but he sometimes plays as if he does not believe it. That's what makes me pissed. The fact you made it this far shows you are good enough. Just do it and leave everything on the floor.

    1. That is, focus on what you can control, and let God (I am not Christian by the way) take care of other things you cannot control. That is after all why people believe in God, no, for the things you cannot control?

      Delete
    2. Yes, I would love him to believe in himself too (and want him to know that we believe in him). But it is not an easy task when he in the situation he is in now. It is easy for us to say and looking from the outside. I am not a Christian too but I don't mind, people can believe in whatever they want.

    3. 100% agree but obviously much easier said than done.

I am a little surprised how easily Jeremy confidence was shaken this year... I remember last year when he shot woefully against a Philadelphia team but still found a way to sink all the free throws to win the game.

Hopefully he will gain Kobe or lebron like belief in himself with time. Really Lin playing with and without confidence is the difference between night and day.

      Delete
    4. you guys are way off, thinking Lin's SCARED.

      Delete
    5. True, eb.

Lin will need to do his part to prepare then execute to play smart and fearless (can't be dual-minded and second-guessing himself), God can intervene with the rest of things that he can't control (i.e. when he plays, how quickly the injury heals, how his teammates finish his assists, etc.)

So that's why we need as many people to pray to move God's hands to bring back his NJ game!! haha

      Delete
    6. I wouldn't say scared. I think he defer too much to other players.

      Delete
    7. No one said Lin is playing scared; he's not playing confident. I have seen him play enough games to know when he's playing too "tentatively" and "hesitant". When he plays the best, he plays in "screw it" mode.

      Delete
    8. That's not Lin's choice, Tiger.

The Rockets have several perimeter guys gunning for new contracts, so Lin gets less touches.

      Delete
    9. If you followed many McHale's interviews, you'd know that he wants his PG to set the tone and the pace to get other guys going. So that's why he looks like trying to hard to pass first, shoot second.

So it's his job to facilitate and yes, sometime he has trouble to find the balance. But this is the playoff so if he's open, make OKC pay. Can't overpass.
