  1. There you go, last game of the season and Lin is not playing. What a bunch of conceited and selfish pricks

    Have a good night, guys/girls.

  3. Im seriously mad that Lin is not playing. I waited this whole season to watch him play in the playoffs and now he wont. Can someone in the Rockets organization stop being lazy and tell us EXACTLY whats wrong with Lin? And why is he not playing at all!?

    1. I know it sucks, guys, but there's no one to blame but bad luck.

It's just a freak injury that, as Stu has said, is actually more serious than it sounds.

      Delete
    2. Yup, it sucks but trainers made the decision.

If it's serious injury then it's better he doesn't play. Not worth it to be out for a long time in the offseason.

      Delete
    3. Annoying they keep calling it a "bruise" [And the lightweight connotation of that...] and juxtapositioning him now with Harden [who is supposedly playing through the flu.]

      Delete
  4. Injuries kept him out of postseason last year. Same thing this year. Really frustrating.

But at least he'll be fired up for next postseason. He won't dare play any other way but attack mode. It was important to get a taste of postseason -- even if it was only a game and a half.

  5. This sucks. Prob the last time Lin wears a Rockets jersey. People are saying Utah Jazz next year which I would be ok with. Its tough to see Lin getting bounced around so much or misued so many times.

Too bad Lin has not had his time to shine in the playoffs. LA will be calling for Lin soon.

    1. We should remember how many young stars haven't even sniffed the playoffs, though. Wall, Irving, Rubio...they haven't even come close. Jeremy has already helped lead two teams to two playoff appearances...and he's got a long, long ways to go in his career.

  8. @Solidz75,

http://tinyurl.com/caku9fv excerpt: Cuban said he spoke with Jeremy Lin’s representatives over the summer. .... “It wasn’t a primary motivation, but we have all the respect for his game, and we were the first team to sign him,” Cuban said.

http://tinyurl.com/chd2uz2 excerpt: Rockets to make offer on Knicks' Lin; Mavericks could be left in lurch.... Meanwhile, no one is losing in this point guard race more than the Mavericks. First, they fell short in their attempt to land Deron Williams.... Then Nash pulled the stunning move to join the Lakers via sign-and-trade with Phoenix, thereby taking Dallas' No. 2 option off the table.... "It's better to miss out on the right player than to sign the wrong player," Cuban told SI.com in an e-mail.

By the way, I had replied to your post 2 days ago (pasted below), about 3 hours after you've asked, but 2x it somehow disappeared.

There were rumored 6 teams (Mavericks were one of them) interested Lin, but once the free agency began, it turned out that Lin was all of those teams' possible 2nd or 3rd option only: All those teams - plus the late comer, Lakers - pursued Nash FURIOUSLY, offering 3-year $30 million contacts to the AGED vet. !!!!! SMH. They've all said that Nash was still performing at an elite level. True. HOWEVER, the already old Nash was getting even older !!! AND, playing the EXACT SAME ROLE as Nash when he was with the Suns, Lin would have been a better and vastly more athletic version of the present Nash..... Shaking my head. Stupid still biased GMs were all fearful about Lin's "steep drop" in production under Wo_dson era (when he played a different role and much less minutes) and his surgery.

Zyrta, I thought it was the other way around. The mavs were one of first of the team to call even before the Rox when FA period began, but backed out when they falsely realized that the Knicks would match anything they proposed.

Where did u get ur info?

    3. Wow. Thank you for looking this up. It looks like noone was seriously interested in Lin when Linsanity died off.

No wonder Knicks never made an offer..

      Thanks again..

      Delete
    4. @Solidz75,

That plus the constant "we'll match" press scared other teams. Like I've said in the past, the Knicks wanted Lin but only real cheap (and Lin confirmed in the '60 Minutes' piece), most likely as a trade bait (due to his clash with Carm_lo and Wo_dson). If no one offered Lin, they could have traded Lin immediately; if they had matched (which could have happened if the contract was smaller), they would have had to wait one year - and if they did, Lin would have been a backup to Melton. They've talked to Melton's agent long before the start of the free agency on July 1st, and the agent has said that the Knicks were very keen to sign his client, but that he was told to wait a little bit for something to be taken care of (I believe that something was to sign Lin on the cheap first, having LIED to Lin through the press a few times and to Lin's face in person once (in that West Coast wine and dine meeting with Wo_dson *AND* Carm_lo) that "Lin is absolutely our starting point guard". If that were accomplished, it was going to be a bait and switch: Either Lin was going to be a backup, so he won't play much with Carm_lo before trading Lin or he was going to be traded him immediately as an inexpensive valuable asset. The Knicks played the game really dirty, unethical and greedy (in comparison, the Bulls didn't play any game with Asik in the same situation).

I know Lin has to be grateful to Mr Alexander, but the Rox led him to believe that Lin would be the primary PG in the same system as the way they've played Dragic. Besides, Lin hasn't hurt the Rox, as it was their decision to play Lin their way. Also, Lin *IS* tradeable with the current contract, boosted hugely by the fact that Lin still managed to play above average and him not missing any regular season games. Keep in mind that for cap space purpose, Lin's contract counts as $ 8.37 million per year to the traded team as well.

  10. Trainers made decision that Lin can't play.
He tried his hardest to convince them that he can play.
    Oh well.

    ‏@ho_chenCSN 7h
Lin: he's kinda been taken outta the decision-making process for whether or not he'll play. It's up to trainers. Wanna be sure no setbacks.

    @JasonCFriedman 1h
As for Lin, he's warming up now but, again, very doubtful he'll be healthy enough to play.

    @Jonathan_Feigen 4m
Wrong. Decision not his. Not cleared. RT @pxxxxxxx: Kid cemented his career as soft. No turning back RT @Jonathan_Feigen: Lin is out.

    1. Who made the decision for Lin to play in game 3? Did they trust Lin to make the decision or did the training staff clear him for that game?

Now, it's not his decision and it's on the trainers to make the decision? Why the sudden change?

      This is interesting.

      Delete
    2. I think it was his decision to play in Game 3.

But he was not healthy enough to do his thing so the trainers were the decision-makers. It's good plan so it's best for the team and Lin can't be called soft.

  12. I'm rest assured that the Thunders is going to key on Hardens. They live off his turnovers in the whole series. Now he's had it. Nobody can save him from KD and the company. They will rest Harden in the first few minutes and blow the game wide open.

McHale look at the bench and his choices are JAnderson / JLin. The obvious choice is Lin.

    2. Solidz thinks my opinion is "out there", but you are right. The coaches are holding Jeremy back. They don't want him. As much as we are all pissed and miserable that Lin can't play, at least he can't possibly be blamed if they loose this time. And if they win, maybe they will try to get rid of Jeremy. Hopefully he can get the H out of Houston next year.

      Delete
    3. No ill-intent from the coaches this time.

Lin hasn't been able to shoot right-handed in practice.
I think it's wise to let trainers make the call.

If he can't use his right shoulder and arm to shoot well, he'll look really bad out there.

    4. The malice is evident now what the organization thinks of Lin, complete disrespect and not just mistrust. I hope Lin finally wakes up and be selfish for his own future and this is not a healthy environment for your development. I'm starting to believe even if they don't trade Lin, he will lose significant minutes to BEV and Brooks, or benched, Lin, please request a trade, where are his agent?

      Delete
    5. Don't give in to fear, SGUO. Lin will be okay.

If he gets traded, it's even better.

If a 3-0 comeback ever happens, it'll happen with a situation like OKC (missing their 2nd best player), and if Jeremy is healthy for the second round, you never know what miracles might happen.

I hate to admit, but I was wrong! He should have rested and probably aggravated the injury during Game 3 (thanks to K-Dirty if nothing else).

      Delete
    4. I'm thinking Coach McHale pushed him to play through the injury ...

      Delete
    5. I don't think so. But I do think McHale respected him for trying -- that's why Jeremy started the 2nd half even when he was clearly hurting and unable to shoot properly.

      Delete
    6. he actually aggravated it overreacting to Durant touching THE BALL right as the ref whistled for a time out. he adopted this crap from the worthless fish chris paul. please don't bring this up again as it makes us look like fanboys. guys hustling till the very end in blowout games, kg blocking and touching the ball all the time is not dirty. even at the very minuscule of being dirty (it wasn't) jeremiah is no position to complain.

    7. It was a CHEAP move on an injured player. KD would probably agree and BE MAN ENOUGH to admit it. He did what he thought he had to, and he'd probably be good with whatever people would think of it.

Even if he isn't turning over ball, he is not creating good or easy looks for his teammates (he led Omer into that charge).

Beverley may be good enough as point guard if all that is required is make quick, simple pass, as McHale wants, but it also very, very obvious that ceiling for team is much, much higher if Harden stops being jealous of Lin's global fan base and accepts him as equal back court partner.

    2. Yes if Houston stays hot with 40% 3PT shooting and OKC still clanking it at 9%.

    3. At some sort maybe it is...

But pleaae not in every possesion ..
      Especially at clutch time...
He need to trust his teammates too..

    4. OKC shot 1-12 in 3 point range. That's pathetic. 15-27 otherwise
Almost all of their scoring came within the paint.

The Rox is 8-20 in the 3 point range.11-21 otherwise.
4 out of 9 shots from Parson were blocked. He made only 2 shots in the first half.

That's not a good sign for the Rox with only a 7 point lead at the half.
      It's too close for comfort.

  63. The difference is the 3 pointers of the Rox are falling but OKC got more free throws.

  64. with a harden lead team...beverely with is the better option but with a lin led team is better than a harden led team..this is my analysis.

  65. Everyone allowed to play banged up but Lin. It is not "fair " to the team, says McHale. Rest assured Lin's butt will be on the bench if they make it to game 6.

    1. That I could beliieve. If the Rox win with this lineup, does McHale have enough faith in Lin to "mess it up" by inserting Lin back in?

    2. If you're a legit starter on a team, when you're healthy, you START no matter what. it doesn't matter how well the backups have played. This is what happens on normal teams.

  66. The Rox lost 2 close games with McFail coaching.
The last game the Rox luck out. The last minute plays were deplorable.
With McFail as the coach, the Rox could have been 0-4.

With a sane and normal coach, the Rox could have been 3-1 or 2-2 at least.

    2. Rox got into playoffs despite mchale

    3. ESPN has been criticising McFail's ways of coaching labelled it 'Hero Ball in contrast with common sense'
Morey wants him to be the coach of the year.
He should be the worst playtime coach of the year. His last minute plays were trash.

  67. Wouldn't be amazing if somehow both Houston and Boston can come back from 0-3 hole to win the series?

    1. U just jinxed both teams.. Thanks a lot.

    2. In the history of the playoffs nobody has ever come back to win after 3 consecutive losses. So if Houston wins this series it will make NBA history.

    3. We're talking about never-been-done in the NBA history :)

No way to jinx the impossible record.
Red Sox on the other hand did it.

    4. They have a shot no doubt. With Westbrook out, OKC are lost.

    5. If they do do this feat.... can you imagine the accolades Mchale will get? LOL

  68. Loving the work done by Houston. I think we can win this game.

  69. What do u guys want more?!
Celtics come back from 3-0 to beat the hated Knicks or

Rox come back from 3-0 to OKC but Lin doesn't play at all.

Again, no nba team has ever come back to win 3-0 down..

    3. Rox.... then Lin will be able to play against the next team and will get playoff experience.

    4. We sure hope the Rox to win and they are looking good to win this game and may tie the series in the next game! Let's go Rockets!

  70. The best play is to foul Perkins and watch him missing the free throw.

  71. The Rox won 3 Qs and lead by only 12 points.
The OKC is making their 3s.
