There you go, last game of the season and Lin is not playing. What a bunch of conceited and selfish pricks
Jerome Solomon: Jeremy Lin running hard up end-to-end, one hour before tip-off...trying his darnedest to convince coaches he can play.
^ He tried to change their minds, up to the end.
Hit right in the feel
If JL is not playing, I guess I won't stay up to watch it until midnight EDT.Have a good night, guys/girls.
Im seriously mad that Lin is not playing. I waited this whole season to watch him play in the playoffs and now he wont. Can someone in the Rockets organization stop being lazy and tell us EXACTLY whats wrong with Lin? And why is he not playing at all!?
I know it sucks, guys, but there's no one to blame but bad luck. It's just a freak injury that, as Stu has said, is actually more serious than it sounds.
Yup, it sucks but trainers made the decision. If it's serious injury then it's better he doesn't play. Not worth it to be out for a long time in the offseason.
Annoying they keep calling it a "bruise" [And the lightweight connotation of that...] and juxtapositioning him now with Harden [who is supposedly playing through the flu.]
^ Public opinion.
Injuries kept him out of postseason last year. Same thing this year. Really frustrating. But at least he'll be fired up for next postseason. He won't dare play any other way but attack mode. It was important to get a taste of postseason -- even if it was only a game and a half.
This sucks. Prob the last time Lin wears a Rockets jersey. People are saying Utah Jazz next year which I would be ok with. Its tough to see Lin getting bounced around so much or misued so many times.Too bad Lin has not had his time to shine in the playoffs. LA will be calling for Lin soon.
We should remember how many young stars haven't even sniffed the playoffs, though. Wall, Irving, Rubio...they haven't even come close. Jeremy has already helped lead two teams to two playoff appearances...and he's got a long, long ways to go in his career.
Thx for reminding us of some of the positives. :)
I'm so disappointed. have to wait until October
The Rox could win tonight. So he may play next game. Harden suffering from "flu like symptoms." Probably has vd from too many skanks at titty bars.
@Solidz75,http://tinyurl.com/caku9fv excerpt: Cuban said he spoke with Jeremy Lin’s representatives over the summer. .... “It wasn’t a primary motivation, but we have all the respect for his game, and we were the first team to sign him,” Cuban said.http://tinyurl.com/chd2uz2 excerpt: Rockets to make offer on Knicks' Lin; Mavericks could be left in lurch.... Meanwhile, no one is losing in this point guard race more than the Mavericks. First, they fell short in their attempt to land Deron Williams.... Then Nash pulled the stunning move to join the Lakers via sign-and-trade with Phoenix, thereby taking Dallas' No. 2 option off the table.... "It's better to miss out on the right player than to sign the wrong player," Cuban told SI.com in an e-mail.By the way, I had replied to your post 2 days ago (pasted below), about 3 hours after you've asked, but 2x it somehow disappeared. There were rumored 6 teams (Mavericks were one of them) interested Lin, but once the free agency began, it turned out that Lin was all of those teams' possible 2nd or 3rd option only: All those teams - plus the late comer, Lakers - pursued Nash FURIOUSLY, offering 3-year $30 million contacts to the AGED vet. !!!!! SMH. They've all said that Nash was still performing at an elite level. True. HOWEVER, the already old Nash was getting even older !!! AND, playing the EXACT SAME ROLE as Nash when he was with the Suns, Lin would have been a better and vastly more athletic version of the present Nash..... Shaking my head. Stupid still biased GMs were all fearful about Lin's "steep drop" in production under Wo_dson era (when he played a different role and much less minutes) and his surgery.- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - -Solidz75 April 29, 2013 at 2:54 PMZyrta, I thought it was the other way around. The mavs were one of first of the team to call even before the Rox when FA period began, but backed out when they falsely realized that the Knicks would match anything they proposed.Where did u get ur info?
:) Thx for the info, ztrta.[I've had posts disappear too...Blogger, smh.]
Thanks via. Because of your post I decided not to re-register; I though maybe I have to at some point - but then I'd have to use a another user name.
Wow. Thank you for looking this up. It looks like noone was seriously interested in Lin when Linsanity died off. No wonder Knicks never made an offer.. Thanks again..
@Solidz75,That plus the constant "we'll match" press scared other teams. Like I've said in the past, the Knicks wanted Lin but only real cheap (and Lin confirmed in the '60 Minutes' piece), most likely as a trade bait (due to his clash with Carm_lo and Wo_dson). If no one offered Lin, they could have traded Lin immediately; if they had matched (which could have happened if the contract was smaller), they would have had to wait one year - and if they did, Lin would have been a backup to Melton. They've talked to Melton's agent long before the start of the free agency on July 1st, and the agent has said that the Knicks were very keen to sign his client, but that he was told to wait a little bit for something to be taken care of (I believe that something was to sign Lin on the cheap first, having LIED to Lin through the press a few times and to Lin's face in person once (in that West Coast wine and dine meeting with Wo_dson *AND* Carm_lo) that "Lin is absolutely our starting point guard". If that were accomplished, it was going to be a bait and switch: Either Lin was going to be a backup, so he won't play much with Carm_lo before trading Lin or he was going to be traded him immediately as an inexpensive valuable asset. The Knicks played the game really dirty, unethical and greedy (in comparison, the Bulls didn't play any game with Asik in the same situation). I know Lin has to be grateful to Mr Alexander, but the Rox led him to believe that Lin would be the primary PG in the same system as the way they've played Dragic. Besides, Lin hasn't hurt the Rox, as it was their decision to play Lin their way. Also, Lin *IS* tradeable with the current contract, boosted hugely by the fact that Lin still managed to play above average and him not missing any regular season games. Keep in mind that for cap space purpose, Lin's contract counts as $ 8.37 million per year to the traded team as well.
After the Rox down 20 points with Harden double digit TOs in the first quarter, they will play anyone on the bench!
Trainers made decision that Lin can't play.He tried his hardest to convince them that he can play. Oh well.@ho_chenCSN 7hLin: he's kinda been taken outta the decision-making process for whether or not he'll play. It's up to trainers. Wanna be sure no setbacks.@JasonCFriedman 1hAs for Lin, he's warming up now but, again, very doubtful he'll be healthy enough to play.@Jonathan_Feigen 4mWrong. Decision not his. Not cleared. RT @pxxxxxxx: Kid cemented his career as soft. No turning back RT @Jonathan_Feigen: Lin is out.
Who made the decision for Lin to play in game 3? Did they trust Lin to make the decision or did the training staff clear him for that game? Now, it's not his decision and it's on the trainers to make the decision? Why the sudden change? This is interesting.
I think it was his decision to play in Game 3.But he was not healthy enough to do his thing so the trainers were the decision-makers. It's good plan so it's best for the team and Lin can't be called soft.
Celtics just beat Knicks 92-86. YESSS!
I'm rest assured that the Thunders is going to key on Hardens. They live off his turnovers in the whole series. Now he's had it. Nobody can save him from KD and the company. They will rest Harden in the first few minutes and blow the game wide open.McHale look at the bench and his choices are JAnderson / JLin. The obvious choice is Lin.
I'm pissed thinking Lin willing and able to play but coaches won't let him! Anyone is fhis true?
He wanted to play.An hour ago~Jerome Solomon: "Jeremy Lin running hard up end-to-end, one hour before tip-off...trying his darnedest to convince coaches he can play." [MT]
Solidz thinks my opinion is "out there", but you are right. The coaches are holding Jeremy back. They don't want him. As much as we are all pissed and miserable that Lin can't play, at least he can't possibly be blamed if they loose this time. And if they win, maybe they will try to get rid of Jeremy. Hopefully he can get the H out of Houston next year.
No ill-intent from the coaches this time.Lin hasn't been able to shoot right-handed in practice.I think it's wise to let trainers make the call.If he can't use his right shoulder and arm to shoot well, he'll look really bad out there.
The malice is evident now what the organization thinks of Lin, complete disrespect and not just mistrust. I hope Lin finally wakes up and be selfish for his own future and this is not a healthy environment for your development. I'm starting to believe even if they don't trade Lin, he will lose significant minutes to BEV and Brooks, or benched, Lin, please request a trade, where are his agent?
Don't give in to fear, SGUO. Lin will be okay.If he gets traded, it's even better.
SGUO, but you got to admit BEV is playing very well. What can you do with Lin being injured.
Lin isn't even dressed..
Hi there!I replied to your 2 day old question. Scroll up.
Replied. Thanks again.
Welp, let's hope the Rockets pull an upset and allow Jeremy a chance for Game 6 and/or 7. Hey, who knows? If a 3-0 comeback ever happens, it'll happen with a situation like OKC (missing their 2nd best player), and if Jeremy is healthy for the second round, you never know what miracles might happen.
Anyone else just see Greg smith pick his nose and eat it?
Hahahaha. (;~O) I saw an old lady do it right in front of me...... but on TV? Greg! chuckle.
JLIn is going to be even more driven by all of this. God is good
They don't really trust jeremy...Feel bad for him...
Harden doesn't look sick!
I'm so mad right now that I want blood. On the other hand I want them to lost this game and just get it over with, ship Lin to a better team for him. On the other hand I still want them to win for maybe there will be a chance for Lin to play in the playoff this season again.
How many of us believe rockets will let Lin play if we win this game, in the next game?
none, zero, nata , zilch !!!
If the Rocket's win, Lin will get significant minutes in the next game he's healthy. That's my expectation.
I believe it. In retrospect, if Jeremy sat out Game 3, he'd probably be playing today.I hate to admit, but I was wrong! He should have rested and probably aggravated the injury during Game 3 (thanks to K-Dirty if nothing else).
I'm thinking Coach McHale pushed him to play through the injury ...
I don't think so. But I do think McHale respected him for trying -- that's why Jeremy started the 2nd half even when he was clearly hurting and unable to shoot properly.
he actually aggravated it overreacting to Durant touching THE BALL right as the ref whistled for a time out. he adopted this crap from the worthless fish chris paul. please don't bring this up again as it makes us look like fanboys. guys hustling till the very end in blowout games, kg blocking and touching the ball all the time is not dirty. even at the very minuscule of being dirty (it wasn't) jeremiah is no position to complain.
It was a CHEAP move on an injured player. KD would probably agree and BE MAN ENOUGH to admit it. He did what he thought he had to, and he'd probably be good with whatever people would think of it.JUST LEAVE, GLENN/ Mchale neutered/ Whatever the hell your other handles are.
Can't believe you do not fail to show up on each thread of this series. You are more zealous than most jlin fans here.i am getting convinced that you are a real jlin fan who is envious of his talent and intelligence. Though u admire him so much, u are eaten by evil thoughts that u desire for him to look like a failure bec u know too well u can't achieve even his smallest achievement.don't u worry, jlin wont hate u for being envious, many people are anyway and i dont blame them nor u. It is understandable. Keep your hate posts coming as jlin fans like u adds spice to this site.God bless u sister ( i highly doubt you are a brother) and may satan depart from your body....
If they make it to game six, they will keep Lin on the bench. Let 's not kid ourselves.
If he's fully healthy, he'll play. If not, he'll come off the bench...and help them win.He won't be allowed to dominate the ball like he should, but he'll play if he's healthy enough.Go Rockets! Win this so Jeremy can come back for Game 6, 7 or even next round!
How can you be so sure zxcb?
Why PB got technical foul ?
he pushed back after the Time out
Jackson tried to reach in for a steal while he called timeout. Just like Bev did to Westbrook and injured him, and Durant did to Lin to injure him.
He tried to protect himself..
I'd love to see Garcia or Delfino reach in HARD for the steal on Durant.
Bev picked up a technical after throwing an elbow at Jackson to retaliate... tsk tsk, that 1 point can be crucial in this game.
Anyone see Harden yelling at Beverly for the ball before half court. This is right before OKC tied the game. What a DIVA...
Keep the comments coming everyone. Humor and sarcasm would be appreciated.
You sure u can handle it?
U must be pissed about NYK losing tonight. I couldn't be more pleased.
Lol, I don't think this is what k.smith had in mind with that request, haha..
I'm so torn who to root for this game! I decided to so what Lin wants since he is our guy so I still wish we win, let's go rockets, man up! No ISO and stupid TO and move the ball!n!
rox better lose this game and release lin to mavericks
Man i do love that if it is true!!..Then he will shine again there..)Mchate will hate himself after
can lin break his contract?
That would me beyond idiotic.
No. Lin don't have to do it.It's only a 3 years contract. He'll be traded before the poison pill 3rd year.
Lin shouldn't have signed with Rockets in the 1st place. He didn't give Dallas or Toronto any time to come up with competing offers.
Abc see zyrta's research above.
Lin standing up every time Garcia shoots.
Anything coming out from the Rox are flukeHarden got a flu?
The season 13/14 begins today for LinAnd will not be in Houston if he has own LoveToday Houston lost by 15 points
Nice start for Houston!Come on. Extend this series, guys. Give Lin a chance to play again.OKC won't advance past the 2nd round even if they win. They just don't know how to play without Westbrook (for all his faults).
I like Brooks' play so far.
Apparently so does McHale.
If their 3PT shooting stays hot, they get a chance to steal the game.
Brooksy going bananas !
Brooksanity.Bev-and-Brookfast just looks okay.
Rox have tried to destroy Lin's career twice already. First time they cut him on Christmas day and then taking him away from NYC where all the fan's wanted to see him play.
lin is not a good fit in McHate's idiotic game plan
Im sure thats exactly what the intentions were drama king.
The Thunders outscored the Rox on Free Throws 7:1.ABRooks missed 2 FTs.
lin to lakers or mavericks?
Looks like Beverly is losing his job to Brooks.
i dont care where he goes as long as he can freely play and respected
We need Lin for Brooks.
Guys .. Use reason here. Jeremy has not shot with his right hand since Saturday.u can speculate all u want about McHale 's motives, but the fact if the matter is Lin wasn't even participating in shoots arounds. If Lin was shooting without pain, I would be mad. But I do t think he could've contributed much if he has pain shooting.
Reason and logic is not welcomed here.
We're diehard Lin fans.Lin forever.
Injury is injury, if you can not help, why put u on the court. It is correct that Lin sits.
@solidz75, don't disagree with what you say... but if Lin had been treated with more respect all season long, we wouldn't even be entertaining these speculations right now. The fact we even have to question it pisses me off!
Agreed solidz75. Lin was practicing only left handed yesterday as we saw on You Tube. I am 100% sure if Riox get to game 6, Lin plays.
I agree.I'd rather have the trainer held back Lin than making unhealthy Lin look bad out there.Fellow Lin fans need to relax a bit with being paranoid.Great voice of reason, Solidz :D
agree with everyone.. if you can't play you can't play.. go hard or go home !
Although he's still getting bashed for sitting out this game, I'm somewhat glad he can claim it's the trainers' decision.[I do trust JLin's self-assessment and maturity. He's not going to force it if he cannot be any help on the court. He himself said so, repeatedly. But tonight, he did seem to try hard to get into the game...He must have thought he's good enough to play.]
YEEEAAAAHOKC looks like a TOTAL MESS. They have no idea what to do but Hero Ball for Durant and hoping for fouls/tip-ins.
Brooks-to-Smith connection is pretty good. And Garcia's block on Durant is a payback for that little stunt he pulled on his buddy Lin.
If it was Lin, the pass will go 2 seconds earlier.
And the alley-oop will turn into a jam silencing the crowd.
OKC is in a shooting slum and the Rox is playing great D.But the margin is still too narrow with such a good shooting night.
Lol durant could fight his way out of paper bag. Scrawny mutant.
We need Asik back. Those tip-ins is bothering me.
OKC fouls like crazy
Jeremy must have taught his teammates to take charges! He learned from the master himself -- Jared Jeffries!
Haha OKC invented synchronized flop by Fisher and KMart!Didn't know Asik was that strong
How do u charge two guys at once? Lol
This is where they really miss Lin. Pentration and dishing for dunks/layups.They can still pull it out though.
I was thinking the same.. Jlin would thrive in this sort of atmosphere but the Rox system won't allow him to..
Harden falling back into bad habits and OKC coming back.Even if he isn't turning over ball, he is not creating good or easy looks for his teammates (he led Omer into that charge).Beverley may be good enough as point guard if all that is required is make quick, simple pass, as McHale wants, but it also very, very obvious that ceiling for team is much, much higher if Harden stops being jealous of Lin's global fan base and accepts him as equal back court partner.
Best thing for team would be if Harden somehow racked up alot of fouls and fouled out of game with a few minutes left in game.Beautiful ball movement, and player moving, going away as Harden falling back into iso, I'm a point guard, mode.
What makes you think Harden is jealous of Lin's fan base? He is the one with the max contract not Lin why should he be jealous??
@roddywhiteTV: Why is Jeremy Lin not playing tonightRoddy white is a LOF!!
The game is too close.
i dont see how lin will be traded if he does get traded and there is a chance that lin would blow up on another team...would morey risk himself from being fired?
Bev is not playing smart..
Martin is really choking. I guess that's why they cut him, though he'd be better next to Lin.
Garcia is channeling his buddy Lin's scream of "Let's go!" after his fourth 3PT shot!
Garcia is putting on a show so he can get a better contract .. good luck to him..
AB outplaying bev!!
Rockets !!.no iso Harden not bad!...The real hero when lin is outgarcia ..he also love how lin plays..beverly.. playing good d..Delfino.. some 3's...Brooks...this game he will be back on his rhythm
Spoke too soon -- Harden ISO results in TO and foul. Ugh.
don't hold your breath for no Harden ISO yet !
Yea men just the time I've typed it then goes that ball hogger loosing the ball and the.2pts..Feel sad for him also Maybe he still thinkin he can.make.it again and again that iso ball..
wow mchale is going to bench brooks lol
first TO by Harden
Garcia really stepping up.
Garcia is a good veteran, experienced and good jumpers. Great D. He made 2 block shots already
Rockets with 7-17 shooting (41%) from 3PT land.OKC only 1-11 (9%)Rox can steal this game as long as their 3PT shooting stays hot.
Pretty telling stat. Hope we can keep it up.
Rox starters picked up too many fouls!
Hope they.can.make it..
Harden is such a FAIL not passing the ball with 2 teammates on either side.
Harden ISO worked....once!
Good job good effort!!
If the Rockets can pull this out, we'll be glad Jeremy sat out Games 4 and 5.I often bash Westbrook, but OKC looks totally lost and confused right now because they've never ever had to play a single game without him. Ever.
yup, OKC looked totally lost without Westbrook.
Rox improved a lot, too bad Lin does not get the chance to improve with them.
Actually, he did during the first half of Game 2. He was playing well 3-7, 4r, 3a, and it was a very close game at the half.
But yeah, I know what you mean :-)Still, I have no doubt he'll take them to the next level IF he's healthy enough to play.
McHale said "It wasn't fair to the team if Lin played tonight" Really? What the eff is he talking about?Haven't heard McHale say that everyone is banged up? So that means everyone "else" can play banged up, but it is not fair if Lin plays banged up. Man Harden has prayed to God really hard tonight bec he is shooting the lights out for the first time in months. Garcia on fire too. Everyone else, eh. Parsons cold tonight.
source?Maybe it was taken out of context? I can't picture a f.ucking head coach saying this.
I don't know that he actually said that. It was just the announcer "explaining" McHale's decision to hold him out.
It isn't fair to the team with such a block-headed coach. Please don't come back next year to haunt us.
Lin. Could,not. Shoot. With.his.right. Hand........
Harden seem trying to prove ISO is working.
As long as he got 4-4 on 3PT, he'll get the green light.I noticed he did pass the ball more in the 1st half so it's an improvement.
Are we gonna win this game or what?
I think it depends how we stop OKC bigs
Yes if Houston stays hot with 40% 3PT shooting and OKC still clanking it at 9%.
At some sort maybe it is...But pleaae not in every possesion ..Especially at clutch time...He need to trust his teammates too..
OKC shot 1-12 in 3 point range. That's pathetic. 15-27 otherwiseAlmost all of their scoring came within the paint. The Rox is 8-20 in the 3 point range.11-21 otherwise.4 out of 9 shots from Parson were blocked. He made only 2 shots in the first half. That's not a good sign for the Rox with only a 7 point lead at the half. It's too close for comfort.
The difference is the 3 pointers of the Rox are falling but OKC got more free throws.
with a harden lead team...beverely with is the better option but with a lin led team is better than a harden led team..this is my analysis.
Everyone allowed to play banged up but Lin. It is not "fair " to the team, says McHale. Rest assured Lin's butt will be on the bench if they make it to game 6.
That I could beliieve. If the Rox win with this lineup, does McHale have enough faith in Lin to "mess it up" by inserting Lin back in?
If you're a legit starter on a team, when you're healthy, you START no matter what. it doesn't matter how well the backups have played. This is what happens on normal teams.
The Rox lost 2 close games with McFail coaching. The last game the Rox luck out. The last minute plays were deplorable. With McFail as the coach, the Rox could have been 0-4.With a sane and normal coach, the Rox could have been 3-1 or 2-2 at least.
Mchail got us to the playoffs respect the man please.
Rox got into playoffs despite mchale
ESPN has been criticising McFail's ways of coaching labelled it 'Hero Ball in contrast with common sense'Morey wants him to be the coach of the year.He should be the worst playtime coach of the year. His last minute plays were trash.
Wouldn't be amazing if somehow both Houston and Boston can come back from 0-3 hole to win the series?
U just jinxed both teams.. Thanks a lot.
In the history of the playoffs nobody has ever come back to win after 3 consecutive losses. So if Houston wins this series it will make NBA history.
We're talking about never-been-done in the NBA history :)No way to jinx the impossible record. Red Sox on the other hand did it.
They have a shot no doubt. With Westbrook out, OKC are lost.
If they do do this feat.... can you imagine the accolades Mchale will get? LOL
Yes to HOU. No to BOS.
Loving the work done by Houston. I think we can win this game.
What do u guys want more?!Celtics come back from 3-0 to beat the hated Knicks orRox come back from 3-0 to OKC but Lin doesn't play at all. Again, no nba team has ever come back to win 3-0 down..
Whats you point?
Answer the question and I will tell u
I want rockets to win. Now whats your point?
Rox.... then Lin will be able to play against the next team and will get playoff experience.
We sure hope the Rox to win and they are looking good to win this game and may tie the series in the next game! Let's go Rockets!
The best play is to foul Perkins and watch him missing the free throw.
The Rox won 3 Qs and lead by only 12 points. The OKC is making their 3s.
