Rockets vs Magic Game #74 1st Half Game Thread

Without Harden and Parsons, Jeremy running the show!!!

  1. Back from vacation and was disappointed McFail aka McBail was up to his old ways by benching Lin in the 4th quarter and inserting Beverly. No Parsons and Harden tonight and also no Jameer Nelson. Lin is going against Udoh. Hopefully Lin will step up and bring Houston a victory.

    1. Was very disappointed by Lin's subpar performances in the Memphis game and Indiana game, but you cannot blame him since he was afraid to make mistakes due to McBail's failed hero ball riding. McBail should be fired if he is the cause of Harden's injury after riding him for so many minutes even when he is injured. I agree with alot of posters on here that nowhere in the League has the coach treat his starting PG like how McFail treat Lin. It is damn frustrating watching the Rockets.

    2. @John Ly, you mean in the Clippers game?
McHale rested Lin with 3 min left in 4Q after Clipper gave up by pulling CP3 first.

    3. No I mean in the Memphis, Indiana and Spurs game.

  2. Lin with a quick assist to G. Smith for a slam.

  3. Watch how beautiful a team game is. 6 passes to 4 different players before Asik layup made it 8-2!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Lin with a good PnR move to score his first shot.

  6. Greg Smith so far has been a monster inside for the Rockets.

  7. What Da Hell!?

    No Parsons no Harden

The game is so easy we're just coasting

Is this McHale's April fool joke?

    2. but we're young, inexperienced, and underpaid too, should not be this easy lol

  8. Lin with another assist on a lob pass to Asik. Houston is taking advantage of Orlando size by posting Greg Smith and Asik early. Ball is moving fast. Houston is up by 13 points.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Lin KILLING the Orlando Magic.

Setting up guys for easy scores inside and outside.

Playing solid unspectacular team defense to make sure that Houston's defense can rotate to the rim.

If Lin doesn't score a lot in this game, that's just fine with me!

  11. 21-6 coaching clinic in just 6 min by Houston to Magic.
All 4 starters scored except Anderson.

Strong D by Asik and crisp ball movement led by Lin found Smith and Asik for easy layups with 8 pts each!

    Linsanity ball!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Lin with his first TO by over lobbing past Asik's reach.

    ReplyDelete
  13. First BS foul call by Ref on Lin for Udrih.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I count two alley oop attempts so far :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wow is Orlando like the worst team ever?

    1. The worst team ever...who almost beat the Harden & Parsons led Rockets last time out.

    2. I really think they are trying to tank for better lottery pick. I mean are Rox this good?

      Delete
    3. Trust me, they're not tanking.

Imagine you're a young NBA player on the Magic. Are you gonna play like CRAP on purpose to ruin your career and make your organization get a slightly better pick?

Tanking methods other than sitting out "injured" stars don't exist.

  16. Lin with four assists so far. I believe three of them went to Greg Smith. Good chemistry between those two.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I count at least 3-6 passes per possession for Houston!
    What a team ball!

    ReplyDelete
  18. at 3:12 left in the 1st quarter Rockets lead 27 to 9 which is like 3 times more than Orlando

    ReplyDelete
  19. I love Francisco's Garcia's patience and composure.

He is the 2nd ballhandler that Lin needs out there.

Lin just KILLING Orlando. They're locked in on him, and Lin's makin' em pay!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I could watch this all day.. Just imagine if we didn't have a ball dominated shooting guard..

    ReplyDelete
  21. May I say. Defense is the difference for tonight. WOW, what a start. I guess we finally have some players who want to hustle on defense in the starting lineup. I like Harden and Parsons but sometimes they make me scratch my head.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lin in there with D-Mo, Delfino, T-Rob and Garcia.

Just don't bench our man the way it did.
      It's not healthy basketball.

    4. Someone's gotta pay Lin's salary, and it ain't ticket sales from Houston fans...

  24. Good luck to the team! JL is not unfamiliar with this kind of situation, he will bring it!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Beverly in for LIn with 1:07 left in the 1st quarter.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. LOL :) Lin played so well directing the offense that McHale wants to see what happens when the 2nd team plays with Lin :)

      Delete
  26. Watch how Udrih managed to get by Bev for an easy pass leading to HOU foul.

Lin has shut down Udrih in Q1.

    ReplyDelete
  27. LIN-CENTRIC TEAM BALL destroying the Magic.

No Harden, No Parsons, and the Magic nearly beat Houston last time.

The only opponent Lin-Ball will struggle with is the Heat, IMO. Excellent PnR defense, refs cheating Lin in favor of stars, and defensive role-players to expend all their energy on him (while the Big 3 do all the scoring).

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think McHale doesn't like to see Lin score.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Look at all the empty seats for a team in the playoff hunt. The Houston crowd is absolutely pathetic

    ReplyDelete
  30. McHale is thinking, "So is this the feeling of 32-14 happiness that people talked about Linsanity when Lin has the ball? But Lin only got 2 points, 4 assists!"

    ReplyDelete
  31. Lin shouldn't even be hesitating to shoot the ball. No Harden or Parson this is his game to shine!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Normally, I agree but the Magic are 100% playing him to shoot today (unlike most teams who know Jeremy is unselfish and looking to set up teammates early). Smith and Asik are constantly open in the low-block and Jeremy is feeding them down low like a BOSS.

      Delete
    2. He'll have to score when he comes back in through. The Magic will probably adjust in the 2nd quarter or 2nd half.

      Delete
    3. No need to look for his own shot when his bigs are scoring.

      Delete
  32. Wow this team looks so bad without lin

    ReplyDelete
  33. Pound that ball inside.

Lin doesn't need to score much this game.

    ReplyDelete
  34. DMo blew Bev's assist!! lol
    Come on, DMo!

    ReplyDelete
  35. we have a little breach and the ship starts sinking

    ReplyDelete
  36. Okay McHale get Lin in. Blow this game out. Rest him in te third.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Replies
    1. I don't think it is because of Beverly. I think it is because of D-Mo. He made a couple of lapses on defense and missed a couple of shots. Defensive intensity isn't like 1st quarter.

      Delete
  38. Let's not wait too long McHALE. Seriously...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Any random Magic guy can get hot if we kept playing like this.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Just tuned in. Are the scores for real? It's eithet rockets are too good ( thanks to jeremy..lol) or pistons are too bad of a team..whichever it is, it makes it easier for me to decide that i'll skip this game and save my late nights for upcoming mstch ups...i hope that rockets will get this win and not wake up with a shocking result...

    ReplyDelete

    3. Dave T

If the the rockets led by 18 after Q1, it seems like rockets is playing against a very poor team and to me, watching this game will be very boring. That is just my opinion. I'll save my time for the next few games cuz i rather miss this than other exciting games in the future...Anf if this is a blowout, jeremy will be siiting out for the most part and that's just the most reasonable thing to do

      Delete
    4. Poor team yes, but I guess I'm just so desperate to see Lin play Lin ball. It's not going to happen once Harden and Parsons are back.

      Delete
    5. Dave

I feel you..but my body really needs rest more than anything...as much as i hate missing rockets games, i have to take care of my health too.i'll be with you in spirit and i hope you get to enjoy much of lin tonight...but the rate things are going, it will be a blowout , if it still too early to call it a blowout

      Delete
    6. Take care of your health jlin74ever!!! Hope you get good rest!

  41. Suddenly you let the other team gets hot.
    It's crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anderson is exceptionally good with handling the ball. Twice I saw him do a spin move to prevent the defender from stealing the ball from him.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The team has been outscored.
What's the point of benching Lin?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm so glad people can see how bad the offensive flow when Lin is out.

    17-10 run to cut the 18pts lead (29-11) to 11 (39-28)

    1. It takes so long to find out.
Once the Magic gets the rhythm, the rockets will have a tough game.
It's no joke. Any NBA team can get hot and play like magic.

  45. Lin is back in there with 6:49 left in the 2nd quarter. Udrih is back in as well.

    ReplyDelete
  46. We need the rhythm back.
    It's already half a quarter.
    McHell is retarded, isn't he?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah this game could've been over if he let Lin play till the half of second. He is the biggest momentum killer for Lin.

      I surely don't.

      Delete
  51. I think McHale is definitely against Lin in his substitution.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Looks like Omer and Greg Smith gonna get double doubles tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Lin needed to take that shot especially on a day like today.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Watch out for my guy Andrew Nicholson.

He'd been a vastly better pick than Royce White or Terrence Jones.

Right now Nicholson is a better player than Thomas Robinson.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You guys getting that Linsanity feeling again?

    1. Everyone playing D, everyone running, everyone passing to the open man, JLin is the catalyst.

      Delete
    2. No.. He is not scoring as well. But playing the role of pg beautifully though.

      Delete
    3. I guess for me Linsanity was never about his scoring. It was the way he brought his teammates to play at their highest levels.

      Delete
    4. He doesn't need to but still should get easy layups.
He wants to prove a point of getting 10pts/18asts

      Delete
    5. No Linsanity wouldn't have been Linsanity without his scoring.

      Delete
  56. Anybody sitting on the bench for that long will get a cold.
Maybe in the next game, Lin, Parson and Harden will be out because of

    3. I know, right? "Lin was solid, but Asik and Smith were the MVPs..." Yeah, then how come they've never ever looked close to this good before? Not even against the Bobcats or against 3rd stringers?

  58. Lin's 7th assist to Delfino's unbelievable 3PT that rolled in!

    Del-Three-No's shot is sweet!

Lin assists to Garcia's and Delfino's 3PT shots are money shots.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I hope we get to see Terence Jones in the 4th.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I like to see Terence Jones get a double double here.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Just to show McHell is wrong about Terence Jones.
With Lin playing like this, it's going to be a blow out.

  66. DMo is definitely out of sync.
Starting him has been a bad decision.
He needs time to work on his defense and teamwork.
We'll see Terence Jones pretty soon.
    It's a blow out.

    3. I think I've said this before, but Sampson seems to be coming around on Lin. McHale remains unmoved, but Sampson's demeanor and comments towards Jeremy have steadily improved over the season.

      Delete
    4. Sampson is trying to get the Head Coaching job LOL

      Delete
  71. I'm worried that Jeremy is playing too well -- he won't get his stats because he'll be destroying the Magic by 30 by mid-3rd quarter!

    1. McHell won't let it happen.
He'll probably start Beverly in the second half.

      Delete
    2. The refs will try to even out the game.

That's what they tell you when you train to be an official referee. When an opponent has an advantage you try to give the other team a fair chance of winning the game. Which NBA officials translates to, TRY TO GET Rockets into foul trouble and kill their rhythm by calling bogus fouls and travel violations.

      Delete
  72. JHarden should take a hard look at Mr. Anderson, and just play like him. Rox will be a much much better team happily after.

    ReplyDelete

  75. Not sure if you guys are watching the "Free Jeremy Lin" movie ... oh, wait, it's halftime intermission.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Anyone just heard Sampson at halftime? Not a mention of jlin about first half. It's Anderson, Garcia, and smith. I hope he accidentally left out jlin cuz he is the leader out there threading the needles to get his teammates shots so that there is this great energy from his teammates who wanna run hard, who wanna play D. Does this sound familia? Remember Jared jefferies, landry fields, shumpert and how they all played much better after jlin got control of he ball.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I think he was trying to say that the Back-Ups are just as good as the starters. That's why he left Jlin out...

He looks clumsy at times around the basket. He is resorting to shooting three instead of taking it to the hole.

    3. I think it would have been amazing to see Jlin play without Harden. However, at the same time...who knows hwo his healing knee would have reacted to 81 games 40mins per game, all Jlin PNR offensive system. He would likely be injured just like Harden & Parsons...

Just like Kyrie Irving, Goran Dragic, & Rajon Rondo roles. The PG role is the most physically & mentally demanding position in Basketball.

You have to guard the other PG of the floor who is probably the fastest player on the other team.

He has to be the floor general, initiate the offense, setup teammates, etc. etc.

So I'm kind of glad he got some rest this season to help his knee get to 100%
