Rockets vs Griz Game #79 2nd Half Game Thread

304 comments:

  1. Lin still has the habit of helping one pass away -- and worst of all, giving up 3s in the corner to help. Lin is being stupid and the coaches are stupid for letting the players do this all season.

Good coaching like that of Chicago, San Antonio, Miami would not tolerate giving up corner 3s so easily. That's on McHale/Sampson.

    1. It's not just Jlin. Harden is doing it as well, that's why Bayless caught on fire. They don't have a choice vs. Memphis because Rockets big men can't guard the Memphis big men 1 on 1.

      Delete
  2. It is deceiving that Memphis only has 8 offensive rebounds compared to Houston's 11, but most of Houston's offensive rebounds come from the bench and not the starters.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Lin is teaching Harden how to play defense during the time out and foul shot attempt by Z-Bo.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Harden can be such a big scorer if he's content to do more spot up shooting and less dribbling.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Garcia is ice cold, he needs to start hitting those wide open 3 point looks.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He usually hits his shot 3 feet behind the arc. It is too close for him.

      Delete
  6. Gasol is such a skill center and better than Asik and Grg Smith combined.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They should try and see if Asik can hit the same type of jumpers that Gasol is hitting. I think Asik can...

      Delete
    2. One of the best in the league. Morey sohuld be trying to get Marc, not Pau.

      Delete
    3. Asik is not mobile enough.

      Delete
  7. When Memphis game plan is to stop Harden...Jlin has to take over the game. Just like what he's doing in the 3rd quarter...by taking it to paint to get fouls and get to the free throw line.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It is also up to his teammates and coaches to say, "Hey you guys need to start giving it to Jlin and let him take over."

      Delete
  8. T-Jones freezing out Lin and passes the ball to Harden instead of Lin who was calling for the ball. This is how he treats Lin after Lin text him every day from D-League.

    1. Unfortunately, Harden is still alpha dog no matter what Lin does.

      Delete
  9. People will see Harden as the only Rocket scoring 20+ in this game and think he's carrying the team but completely ignoring he's actually turning the ball over and shooting his team out of this game.

I wonder if McHale would tell Harden that they want to win with another 29 points and 9 turnovers performance coming.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Clyde Drexler said, "Why would P. Beverly give it to a PF at the half court..." LOL

    ReplyDelete
  11. Harden quietly warming up. Asik had a nice dig of a bad pass from Jones and a slam. Much better than early in the season.

If they stay focused, we have a chance.

    1. With the announcer praising harden all day long

      Delete
  13. Lin is playing almost all of the 3rd quarter. McHale is letting Lin earn his minutes tonight.

    1. Box score may not show it, but Lin is playing a great, great game!

Hopefully his effect on this game will be like L. A. Clippers victory (important reason for win, though box score doesn't show it).

      Delete
    2. ...after yanking him early when he started hot (3-5).

      Delete
  14. Houston is lucky right now, Conley has missed some open 3 point shots.

    ReplyDelete
  15. T. Jones needs to catch and shoot and stop this catch dribbling crap...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Again, Lin passes to him to shoot and he ends up dribbling and not passing it back to Lin to reset. Rookie!

      Delete
  16. Jlin knows Harden has the hot hand...they need to keep Jlin bringing the ball up and make the plays and have Harden be the spot up shooter.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The Rox needs a PG to break down the defense. They have everyone playing PG while Lin is the only legit.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If Lin had Harden's usage, he probably scored 30 points in this game already.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Lin is no where near Harden when it comes to creating for himself.

      Delete
  19. Damn. Lin seeing monster minutes now. So use to seeing him on the bench.

This is good for playoffs. Lin needs to take more shots though.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's because Chandler Parson's is still out.

      Delete
  20. Jumper gone cold with his team freezing him out.

But he's doing everything else. Robbed of 4-5 assists by his idiot froncourt.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Harden had better catch and shoot and the Rox will be alright.

    ReplyDelete
  22. LOL Asik.

Another dunk/assist ruined. Jeremy needs bigs that can dunk a basketball.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maybe McHale and Harden finally realize that Harden is a shooting guard and should just shoot the ball rather than dribbling and running the offense lol.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Nice explosive run by Lin, to dish failed at the rim. Hope that's on the highlights ... so nice to see Lin pick up a loose ball and make a decisive move on a broken play.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The one statistics that can tell if the rockets is doing well.
Ratio of Lin's assist / Harden's assst. If it's greater than 1, the Rox is in good shape.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lin driving really hard to rim. Like his aggressiveness. Just need finishers. Harden is shooting better now

    ReplyDelete
  27. Houston needs to be careful because Memphis can get hot any moment now. Once Memphis starts hitting those open 3 point shots again this game will be over. On the flip side, once the Rockets 3 point specialists Garcia/Delfino starts hitting their open 3 point shots this game will be over.

Both teams are packing the paint really well right now. Making it difficult for dribble drive penetration layups.

    Let's see what happens...

    ReplyDelete
  28. this +/- stat is getting laughable ... Dmo with highest +/- they have to fix that some season.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Who are these refs tonight LOL...they're drunk or something calling some bogus calls...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Harden needs to understand that Refs are not calling fouls tonight. He needs to give the ball to Lin and trust Lin to find him...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Refs cheating Lin. Again.

Just making s**t up now. No foul whatsoever except being Asian.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Who was saying the officiating was good and consistent? The officiating is incompetent.

    ReplyDelete
  33. ahh the retarded beverley handles again good job mchale

    ReplyDelete
  34. This is good the Rockets need to learn how to fight through this type of officiating.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Except I would have thought Rockets would get the home court Ref officiating.

      Delete
  35. wow. 3 bad calls against houston now. harden is balling on D now

    ReplyDelete
  36. Refs are terrible terrible in this game. Calling no existence foul calls. The last call was the worst one.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The call on Lin was the worst one actually. I don't even know what that was supposed to be. Jeremy handed the ball off. Allen barreled through him and Harden. Foul on Jeremy.

      Delete
  37. Beverley just froze out Lin. WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Don't worry Jlin is saving his energy for the last 5mins. of this game.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Harden picking up the T after complaining about 3 blown calls by the Refs. Lin and trainer has to calm Harden down.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Harden loses his cool ... let's hope that doesn't change the momentum. Lin bear hugs Harden to try to avoid the T. TO by McHale, ...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Stu, many bad calls in first half too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. beverley is a sneaky little bastard hes been freezing out lin WHENEVER it was possible for a long time. the retarded ape knows its the only why to get his minutes

    ReplyDelete

    1. stop trolling with racist comments...

      Delete
  43. Notice how when Lin is guarding Bayless, he isn't hitting his shots now.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Rockets the 2nd best scoring team in the league has been held to 64 points in the 4th quarter. But the Rockets has held their opponent to 66 points. If the Refs weren't cheating this game Houston would be leading right now.

    ReplyDelete
  45. T-Jones coming up big tonight for the Rockets. 5 Offensive rebounds for 10 rebounds total and 7 points so far.

    ReplyDelete
  46. When HARDEN knows he has to play D!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wow no foul on the Jlin drive...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Did you expect anything else from these refs?

      Delete
    2. They said Jlin has to go attempt the layup..but he had 3 guys guarding him...he had P. Bev wide open...but Jlin got hit hard from behind...

      Delete
  48. A game that really misses Parson

    ReplyDelete
  49. Come on Lin should made that lay up.

    1. Hard when you're getting undercut like a running back.

  50. Jeremy gets TACKLED at the legs -- NO CALL.

    Gasol gets touched...FTs.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That wasn't a foul on the fast break?? Lin wasn't passing the ball, he was going up for the shit.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Delfino should not be in the game if he wont' shoot.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wtf is this i'm watching? Bball or MMA. Lin was tacked and no call wth

    ReplyDelete
  54. FINALLY he gets a 50/50 call. 1/12 ain't bad!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Here comes the Jlin show coming up...it's nearing the 5min. mark...

    ReplyDelete
  56. Okay they made up the call for Lin, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  57. I like it! Gasol 2 quick fouls.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Another one on Gasol, keep after him!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Jeremy is only 3-10 but he should have 10+ assists with competent bigs.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Bad miss by Lin and lost his composure.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Bad miss on the shot. But he was HACKED hard with no whistle. Any black player gets that call and he knows it...hence the freakout.

      Delete
    2. He wasn't looking to shoot on that shot. He wanted to pass to Asik but at the last minute changed his mind. His momentum was too much and so the shot was too hard.

      Delete
  61. Refs cheating Jeremy all game. He just got punched...no call.

    Calls are for black players.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Bayless is playing good defense on Jlin. Jlin is not having a good shooting night.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Although, there have been multiple times where Bayless and Memphis has fouled Jlin very hard...and Jlin not getting any calls

      Delete
    2. Meh. He's fouling him all game. You can call that defense if you want.

Jeremy has no jumper tonight. He started off hot, but McHale cooled him off with the early benching leading to the huge Memphis lead.

      Delete
    3. Jlin just needs to continue to be aggressive and his shots will start falling.

      Delete
  63. Omg! Lin is playing bad in 4th qty.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. he's constantly cheated by the refs. what can we expect?

      Delete
  64. i cant watch that no more the nbsa is sooo racist. and im not even asian

    ReplyDelete
  65. Damn Lin gotta make that point blank shot

    ReplyDelete
  66. Lin needs to finish. Gotta look for his shot a little more. Passing first a little too much now. This is great team energy though. Fun to see him and Harden playing like they are on speed

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Refs are letting them punch and tackle and kill him. Why shoot?

      Delete
  67. yes, on a few bad plays by Lin and everybody. Nasty 3 misses by TJ at least 2. Harden bad 3 attempt.s But have to give it to them - they are focusing on this comeback, and they have time to do it. Take it to Gasol to foul him out. Lin needs to be conservative for 3 mins - refs won't cheap foul him out near the end.

    ReplyDelete
  68. He keeps missing that in-between running jumper in the lane. It's like he wanted to pass but decided to shoot it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Like I said, he's afraid to shoot because refs are cheating him hard.

      Delete
  69. Seems too tired. Bad calls all around.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Harden will either shoot us out of the game to the win - everybody seems cold.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Replies
    1. might be right ... 1 mistake by Lin, several by Harden, and we're down 8

      Delete
  72. They need to make a quick run right now...time is running out...

    ReplyDelete
  73. Refs decided this at the half.

No point in complaining about anything.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. My God, he just got PUNCHED IN THE FACE again. No call! 5th time this half!

      Delete
  74. Jlin has to take that 3 point shot. The paint is clogged up.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Garcia should be in there, not Beverley. They need another shooter.

    Lin locked down Conley.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Harden- 28 points and 8 turnovers.

Only 1 point and 1 turnover off the mark lol.

    ReplyDelete
  77. LOL Lin fouled to head, got mad, then a 3!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Then no look pass to Asik for the slam and Lin is saying Let's go!!!

      Delete
  78. Re by Lin, slam by Asik - our man is mad!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Jeremy fucking Lin, I love you.

    ReplyDelete
  80. A bit of LINSANITY. He's playing angry because of racist refs.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Lin got bumped by Z-Bo, gave the refs a dirty look and hits a three.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Linsanity!!!! Less than 5 minutes hes 60% from 3

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. J Lin showing his intangible effect on TEAM defense.

That stop on Conley, plus the rebound.

As Coach Musselman said, he gets you extra possessions.

The clutch three was just icing on the cake.

Except for last few minutes on offense before last couple plays, he has had an incredible, awesome game, both on offense and defense, even if box score doesn't show it.

      Wow!

      Delete
    2. Stat guy robbed Lin and gave Harden that rebound. Unbelieveable.

It was a Lin 3, Lin lock down D on Conley, Lin rebound, then Lin assist on Asik dunk.

      Delete
  83. Replies
    1. See his head swagger! He agrees with you!

      Delete

    1. Like I said he just needs to stay aggressive...good things will come...

      Delete
  85. Just when I was afraid Lin would get blamed for the loss, Lin comes up with two big plays. Go down swinging Lin.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He just needed to get mad ...

      Delete
    2. Did I tell you guys that McHale needs to unleash Linsanity which is like unleashing the Hulk.

      Delete
  86. Ong, that no look to Asik made my day. Unbelievable high bball IQ.

    ReplyDelete
  87. wow, Lin's no look pass! Asik!

    ReplyDelete
  88. 25 foot no look bounce pass to ASIK!? Now that's for the highlight reel

    ReplyDelete
  89. I think McHale have found a new formation against Denver & Memphis.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Houston still needs to be careful...Memphis has been missing a lot of open 3 point shots.

    ReplyDelete
  91. How funny if we win, the box scores will say Harden won it ...

    ReplyDelete
  92. Lin needs to stay closer to his man. Being 10-12 ft away is not good

    ReplyDelete
  93. Time to send in Smith for Jones!

    ReplyDelete
  94. LOL and people want to freeze him out. GTFO haters.

    ReplyDelete
  95. There you go Lin...stay aggressive!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Unreal. Can he really be this good??!!!! In clutch he must nearly 70% from 3.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That 3 was about 4 ft beyond the arc. So much for long 2s.

      Delete
  97. SO, that Lin 3 was an un-scripted play - Harden kept the hold until he saw space, took it in and kicked out to Lin ... normally, he'd take it in but today, no fouls and a wall. Nice!

    ReplyDelete
  98. M.Gasol has never been a clutch free throw shooter just like his bro P.Gasol

    ReplyDelete
  99. Asik + Tjones + Harden as SF + Lin + Bev
This is going to be it!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Damnnnniitttt should have went back to Jlin on that play...

    ReplyDelete
  101. How did announcers say Toney Douglas hit Harden? TD isn't even playing for Memphis.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Harden Hero Ball going to lose it.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Instant replay support ruling for what?

    ReplyDelete
  104. GODDAMN YOU HARDEN.

Jeremy could have won this. Easily.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Wow, Harden with 2 hero balls, and Bev fouls to make it a 2 possession or 3 pt game. My heroes ... not.

    ReplyDelete
  106. God, the Rockets are so predicable and numskull Bev foul Conley for no reason. Harden didn't feel like playing D after he got the no call.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Someone screen shot that. He was walking up the court, not giving a shit.

      Delete
  107. Two out of control drives by Harden. But McHale doesn't have the balls to bench him.

    ReplyDelete
  108. WHAT THE HELL J.HARDEN PASS THE DAMMMMNNN BALL!!! They're not calling fouls so you're antics are not going to work tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Will Jeremy touch the ball again?

    ReplyDelete
  110. they called that ticky tak on Bev ? wtf.

    ReplyDelete
  111. So, this is playoff bball ... nice game. What will McHale draw up?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Damn it. Give Jeremy the ball! Harden tried and failed already. TWICE.

    ReplyDelete
  113. WHOAAA...that should have been a foul on tony allen...

    ReplyDelete
  114. Mchale should know by now that Harden is not Mr Clutch.

    ReplyDelete
  115. SIGH.

    Jeremy didn't even TOUCH IT.

    F**K YOU HARDEN AND MCHALE.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. MY GOD.

This team will get SWEPT. And it will be 100% because of Harden Hero Ball.

      Delete
  116. They are getting screwed on calls. GLad this is not a playoff game.

    ReplyDelete
  117. J.HARDEN HAS SINGLE HANDEDLY LOST THIS GAME AT THE END OF THE 4TH QUARTER.

    ReplyDelete
  118. If Harden gets a FOURTH chance, this is a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Harden again ... 3 unscored possessions by him, note it here. 2 bad fouls by Bev. Last one might have been fighting for a chance, but prev one wasn't smart.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I will call this loss on Harden for trying to draw too much foul rather than passing
