TNT being hard on Lin. But they are putting it in perspective and saying this is his first game. Lin did have a bad end of the 2nd quarter.
Lin can do much better and I think he will get it going. I bet Lin rehydrates at half, practices his jumper and starts to play really well. Just hope he gets his chance.
I just can't see McHale trusting Lin over bev in this game. Bev showed up. Lin didn't. Bev will get most of the minutes in the second half.. Don't think Lin will have the opportunity to redeem himself..
maybe not. Bev has actually been spectacular. not just good. and everyone knows I am a huge Lin homer. Lin can get overwhelmed with pressure. But if some of those shots dropped woulda been a totally different story.
Game started to turn when Parsons picked up his third foul, and further when Asik picked up his third.
That turnover when Lin was trapped was not good, but everyone pretty cold with their shooting and two starters on bench, not many options out there.
Greg Smith with first half plus minus -18.
Lin seems to frustrate Westbrook somewhat, but Beverley can't slow him at all. Hopefully Lin can stay out of foul trouble so he can stay aggressive in game.
Big difference here solid, Lin is playing out of position.
No excuse for his bone head decisions, but then again I haven't seen a single play set for him. He's had to create pretty much for himself while looking out for others when he doesn't touch the ball much to begin with.
I don't think he is exposed, I think he is misused. But yes he is playing lousy regardless.
Kenosha I agree but it is what it is. Lin is not playing well in the system that McHale has set up for his team. No way McHale will cater to Jeremy and shift his strategy to get him back in the game. Lin knew he had to play well in the current set up like he has been forced to the entire season.. He has this far failed miserably.
Totally right, Rikki ... people are missing all the chaos and mistakes made by Del, Harden, Bev, ... it was quite settled on their run before Parson's fouled. The wide open look for Bev by Lin taking all his guys to the rim was what this is about. Rox collapsed, and Lins fans here blame Lin. Totally ridiculous guys. Be objective. Tell me all the great plays you saw by the others ...
Lin gets zero screens, I think that's also why he's struggling. He's having to try and blow by his man every time, while Westbrook gets screen after screen.
EXACTLY! Lin not the pg and there are no fu*ks given about giving Lin screens. The Rox need to runs pick n rolls, i mean good god has mchale thought about that at all!
McHale needs to stop going with a small lineup. It doesn't matter if Asik gets in foul trouble you DON'T put Delfino in for him, because the only rebounder you have is G.Smith. He needs to put another big in their like TJones (who can't still spread the floor because he can shoot the 3).
It was obvious what the Thunder were going to do to the Rockets (clog the paint with Ibaka and Perkins, while the 3 perimeter players play the passing lanes during drives; with slow ball-movement Thunders have an easy time staying with their men on the perimeter). The Rockets need to adjust with the following:
1) Start utilizing their mid-range game (because this will open up the inside game) 2) Have both BIGS, PF & C, go for the offensive rebounds, they're getting killed on the glass. 3) Let Westbrook drive it in and make 1 BIG take the charge (but they have to make sure they rotate quickly to prevent WBrook from passing out or feeding the inside guy 4) Let Jlin play the PG
I think now we are seeing how young the Rockets are.
Everyone going for homerun play or one on one hero ball.
Creaky old Knicks, before their recent winning streak, would grind their way back into games (typically lesser opponents) by just not turning ball over, playing good defense, and some deliberate offense.
Power forward spot really hurting Rockets.
If we had gotten Jared Jeffries right before trade deadline (Jason Friedman rumor) and had kept Patrick Patterson, at least for this year and this playoff run, we would have probably been more competitive.
No real PF is killing us. Lin is having a bad night, but I think a lot of it is due to no team ball. No one comes to bail him out when he is trapped, he gets no screens or partial screens that leaves him trapped. No one is cutting so he's had to make homerun passes.
Honestly OKC isn't playing that great, but they are playing as a team and controlling the tempo. This is why Rox is going to lose.
Coaching has to shoulder majority of the blame here.
Lin playing some good D in the 2nd half. Needs to get his shot going. OKC just a little tough right now. I don't think Rox are really playing that bad really.
No u just don't wanna hear the truth. He didn't play well tonight. I'm not exaggerating. Lets not sugercoat it.
The team is not playing well. What is it about what I said makes u so angry. U just wanna hear compliments about Lin even when he is not playing well??? Gimme a break,
Solidz - I am not saying Lin did well, but you are harping on Lin. Did you not see a key TO by Harden at the end of first half? How about Bev's awful airball? Del trying to hero it above the block when he had trailing help? I have no problem with Lin having a bad game, but the vibe here is it's his fault. Nah! This team did not come ready to play. They had something like a 9-2 run and then Parsons fouled and Harden came back. It was that awful small ball and the team collapsed. No defensive stops.
Right it's Lin's first playoff game. I wish he had a better debut but it is what it is .
What matters is we have at least three more games for him to play better.
Sime people just want to hear only the great things about Lin and can't take it when people criticize him when he deserves it. This is a Lin centric site - if course people will be commenting on his game.
Dude did u even read my post? I was faulting the entire team. But as a Lin fan I m Also commenting on his individual performance. Some of u need to chill out and stop projecting your disappointment on Lin at me. I'm just calling it as I see it.
Thanks, we're in sync. I cringed when Lin threw that baseline pass for a TO, but it's the pile-on I object to, because it makes even losing intolerable for all of us fans. I don't hate on any one person - they just didn't come ready to play or adjust, as a team. They have no defensive stops, so they panic to try to get it in the hoop to make up for that. Then that awful small ball. WT hey, man.
Anyway, we'll have more fun watching this loss if you count all the terrible plays by everyone, so it's not so rarified. It's a team loss.
As a jlin fan, i can understand where solidz's frustration is coming from..we all want lin to perform well this series but we didn't see that tonight and that is frustrating...i agree that everyone not only lun is playing terrible, but the fact that this is a lin site makes it sound like solidz is whining abt lin when IMO, his comments focus more on jlin bec he is supposed to be the main point of this site..i share solidz's sentiments, i am not just verbalizing or putting them in writing...although you guys are right, lin shld not be blamed for the loss and i don't think solidz is blaming lin...
I blame all this on the COACH. You can't win without a good playbook. This team doesn't have a complex playbook, it's too basic. It will be a short series if they can't fine tune their offense.
Yeah this variance and randomness fdo not wirk in the playoffs. Players needs to stick to the foundation when things get tough. Without defined positions, people start playing out of their comfort zone. If everyone has their own responsibilities things would be much easier.
Lin may not see the floor again in this game. If Beverley does well, McHale gonna keep him on the floor. If Beverley does not do well, this game will turn into a blowout soon.
The real issue here is that Houston's bigs are useless offensively. Asik can't finish, bobbles the ball all the time. Smith can't finish. If there was a reliable big that could finish it would open up the game so much for the guards.
Lin was drawing fouls off he dribble all game. OKC couldn't stop him without fouling him. He was also the only guy to draw charges and contain WB.
He had a tough shooting night and credit to the Thunder for trapping well on a couple of plays. It should be kept in mind that Lin didn't get screens or help until third. A few of the passing turnovers were silly mistakes, but it is his first playoff game.
Overall, I more confused with people's negative attitudes than Lin.
Well.. One Rox reporter think that Rox is burned easily without Asik & Parsons.. Now Both of them are on the court... Why is still Rox being burned ???
going to bed early...frustrating...that bounce pass/ turnover...what was he thinking!!!!??? Playoff jitters is one thing, but that was a bonehead move.
Guys playing one on one and not moving the ball unless they can't beat their guy off the dribble. OKC packing the paint, with good inside D. Also expecting the shot from outside, so stays close to perimeter for quick close out. @Etym pointed out a few things up thread e.g. Rox doing some midrange would have helped, plus let JLin run PG and run sets for him.
WB doing a lot of scoring and dishing at PB's expense.
This is why Lin will always be starting PG. PB is just a step slow. Lin doesn't allow WB to get into the launch pad, and forces him to pass. PB just doesn't have Lin's on ball skills and it shows.
One of the thing thatvi think is the reason for lin's poor play is that he as really playing out of his comfort zone. IMO shooting is his biggest weakness and that was what he was asked to do most if the first half without the ball in his hands. I mean bev ran the point.
When his shooting failed, Lin tried to contribute by doing other things and he pressed a bit with difficult passes.
Wow this is really embarrassing. But truth be told the Rox has not looked well the previous two games either while OKC had been on fire. Team going in opposite directions .. Mixed them up and this is what u get.
Okc is playing solid in total contrast to houston's chaotic game...none of the rockets can penetrate the paint, at the same time the midrange and 3's are not connecting too.
Guys, gals, I'm going to watch the rest of this loss in peace. Thanks for putting up with me - Solidz , I wasn't on you for callin' Lin. I was just saying it's not all Lin to the fans at large. The only way to cope with this very poor team performance is to not get too amped about our fav. player - he didn't play well, but so much of this team was off tonight.
Have fun, see you sometime post game or next game. McHale's system is now exposed ... many of you like that, I'm sure.
only thing that sucks is that we're gonna have to wait a couple days for him to redeem himself. the media/genera fans/haters are gonna be all over him.
Yeah at this point what matters more is how Lin will come out the next game. I will chuck this poor performance to lack of playoff experience. He will have opportunities to redeem himself.
But the team didn't look good at all. They really look like an 8th seed.
remember that one PHX game where the bigs were setting double screens for lin, what happen to that? They only did that with DMo in the game so maybe that's why they're not doing it anymore?
This is absolutely the worst game I've ever seen Lin play. No excuses--he stinks tiday. He can't make a shot, has made bad turnovers, looks lost, and looks like he's intimidated. He better fund himself real fast before the next game. Very disappointed in Lin. I thought he'd come out playing like a tiger, but instead playing like a timid mouse.
Worst game of the season. No offense, no defense, no nothing.Jeremy getting to the rim and making stupid passes instead of shooting. He hasn't hit one jumper yet, WHY not shoot at the rim?!!!!!!!!!!! ugh.
lin is used incorrectly. but he can't handle hold his dribble. and we haven't even mentioned the dumb passes in traffic. every team in the league knows you can get him shook just by adding a bit of pressure. how he hasn't prepared since the miami game is just amazing to me.
Expect see fishers cross over Lin and hit that 3 on espn and haters all over ask to start Bev, just hope Lin keep his head down and heart through all this and redeem himself next game, I still believe this game was a good experience to learn for Lin and bouncing back is a statement
For the first time this year, Lin played poorly without McHale holding him back. Lin tried really hard tonight. It just wasn't his night. I am actually kind of glad he had an awful first game and errant passes not in the crucial minutes. Great great learning experience.
McHale did show a lot of faith in Lin today. I think Lin plays well in 3 out of next 4 remaining games (yes I think they take one).
i don't like the jump shooting lin because of the harden isolation plays. i like to see the lin who drives it in and make things happen. very poor coaching.
OKC can do this to any team. If you guys remember, OKC did this to the Lakers last year and did it to the Spurs. Even did it to the HEAT. They have games in the playoffs where they blowout teams. This is one of those games.
But this is not an excuse. The ROCKETS need to make the necessary adjustments if they're going to win a game in this series.
They need to focus on just winning one game, then they can look ahead. Beating OKC at least once in this series if a big step forward.
Lets see what adjustments they make in game 2. Because Playoff games are won by the right adjustments. It's like a chess game. GO LIN & GO ROCKETS!
TNT being hard on Lin. But they are putting it in perspective and saying this is his first game. Lin did have a bad end of the 2nd quarter.
ReplyDeleteLin can do much better and I think he will get it going. I bet Lin rehydrates at half, practices his jumper and starts to play really well. Just hope he gets his chance.
Keeping fingers crossed.
DeleteI just can't see McHale trusting Lin over bev in this game. Bev showed up. Lin didn't. Bev will get most of the minutes in the second half.. Don't think Lin will have the opportunity to redeem himself..
Deleteand he will..just believe.
Deletewe'll soon find out whether this coaching staff really trust JLin to play through or not
DeleteLet's stay positive.
DeleteThe bounce pass was way too much risk and little reward. He needs to settle down and relax and come out in focus... lets go JLIN
Deletemaybe not. Bev has actually been spectacular. not just good. and everyone knows I am a huge Lin homer. Lin can get overwhelmed with pressure. But if some of those shots dropped woulda been a totally different story.
DeleteGame started to turn when Parsons picked up his third foul, and further when Asik picked up his third.
DeleteThat turnover when Lin was trapped was not good, but everyone pretty cold with their shooting and two starters on bench, not many options out there.
Greg Smith with first half plus minus -18.
Lin seems to frustrate Westbrook somewhat, but Beverley can't slow him at all. Hopefully Lin can stay out of foul trouble so he can stay aggressive in game.
Hope Rockets can regroup in second half.
This is where A GOOD COACH comes in, helped putting his player in good position to success. Where is that coach?
DeleteThe next mistake .. Lin will come out. After all that has happened this year, don't see Lin playing in the 4th over bev.
DeleteChaotic. McHale sure gave us a surprise.
ReplyDeleteHow does he go from dropping 29 and 8 last time to looking like he did in the Miami disaster, how disappointing.
ReplyDeleteStupid dog tricks in half time, Lol
ReplyDeleteThose dog tricks were more entertaining than the Rockets' first half at least.
DeleteFeeling sorry for Jeremy. The Thunder just too fast and athletic.
ReplyDeleteLin is one of the quickest players in the NBA.
Delete[60 points in 1st half. Most ever for #Thunder in a playoff game.]
ReplyDeleteThis is so reminiscent of Miami game.. He looks so overmatched. WTF is wrong with him? Making horrible decisions..
ReplyDeleteParsons with three fouls early in second quarter and on bench.
DeleteAsik later went to bench with three fouls.
Greg Smith plus minus - 18.
No one on Rockets is hot with their shooting from outside.
Big difference here solid, Lin is playing out of position.
DeleteNo excuse for his bone head decisions, but then again I haven't seen a single play set for him.
DeleteI dont like they way the rotation looks bc it always comes to the expense of Lin's game, as of right now Lin is not playing pg most of the first half.
ReplyDeleteAnd he won't...
DeleteThe Thunder played as a team with 15 assists to show.
ReplyDeleteThe Rox played mostly iso with only 6 assists.
They look better without Harden while Lin and Bev was running
ReplyDeleteLin is not doing well under the playoff intensity and pressure.
ReplyDeleteOther than his shooting, Lin was doing ok up to the last few minutes, when Parsons and Asik were both on bench with three fouls.
DeleteHe was doing much better job containing Westbrook than Beverley, and he was racking up fouls on OKC with drives prior to last few minutes of game.
Thanks Joe, for not panicking like all the other members here.
DeleteYou nailed it.
Go ahead just keep on blaming Lin, guys. It's much easier right? Everybody else did but I won't
ReplyDeleteTotally right, Rikki ... people are missing all the chaos and mistakes made by Del, Harden, Bev, ... it was quite settled on their run before Parson's fouled. The wide open look for Bev by Lin taking all his guys to the rim was what this is about. Rox collapsed, and Lins fans here blame Lin. Totally ridiculous guys. Be objective. Tell me all the great plays you saw by the others ...
Deleteyep...
DeleteLin, the scapegoat by those that hate him and his own fans.
look is always shook under pressure. nothing has changed. ugly.
ReplyDeleteLin gets zero screens, I think that's also why he's struggling. He's having to try and blow by his man every time, while Westbrook gets screen after screen.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! Lin not the pg and there are no fu*ks given about giving Lin screens. The Rox need to runs pick n rolls, i mean good god has mchale thought about that at all!
DeleteEveryone just come down, what is all this stupid feel sorry shit. Relax, lets give Lin some support and he will come out playing better
ReplyDeleteyeah, everyone. quit with your whiny, negative energy.
DeletePut that positive energy out there for Lin. At least wait till the game is over to feel sorry for ourselves.
I really have a bad feeling today.
ReplyDeleteLin will play better in 2nd half, but only will happen if he plays pg
ReplyDeleteRemember, Parsons and Asik (two of starters) were on bench when things went downhill for Rockets and Lin.
DeleteDelfino can't contain Durant at all, and Beverley was having trouble with Westbrook.
Damn, i hate seeing so many negative comments, game is not over,
ReplyDeleteAll the praises and credits will go for everybody else, but the blame will fall only for Lin.
ReplyDeleteLin will come back strong in the 2nd half!
ReplyDeleteLol wow McHale is mad at lin.
ReplyDeleteNot as bad he was in that clipper game though.
Deletewhere do you see this?
DeleteLin going for homerun and missing greatly...
ReplyDeleteWhy did McHale sit him all of halftime!
DeleteAsk TO, Lin steal, failed Harden alley oop.
ReplyDeleteWrong! Lin threw that pass to Parsons but Durant read it all the way
DeleteMy bad ... too many mistakes too fast by this team of ours. My brain cannot process ... :-)
DeleteWhat the fuck Lin?
ReplyDeleteBTW nice steal but awful positioning for alley-oop, should of just bounce passed to Parsons like they always do.
ReplyDeleteThey need to calm down and play their game and not try new crap that aren't proven.
Damn should have been an easy dish for Lin but behind the back foul on Smith :(
ReplyDeleteAnd1 for Smith, Lin dish.
ReplyDeletewrong, just a foul.
DeleteThat what Lin has to do.. But he needs the ball to do that.
ReplyDeleteLin needs to penetrate!
ReplyDeleteAnd get his **** blocked all night.
DeleteGuys, McHale is giving Lin the ball. He's feeding the bigs. Let's see, but OKC needs to be stopped.
ReplyDeleteGame is over.
ReplyDeleteI just want Lin to score a few more baskets and keep the misses down.
C'mon McHale, go small, we know you want to!
ReplyDeleteNice D by Lin.
ReplyDeleteLack of Patrick Patterson (good team defender, pick and pop game) hurting Rockets now.
ReplyDeleteIt's better now with Parsons, Asik in with Lin PG.
DeleteI've seen 2 bad calls pro OKC so far.
ReplyDeleteMcHale needs to stop going with a small lineup. It doesn't matter if Asik gets in foul trouble you DON'T put Delfino in for him, because the only rebounder you have is G.Smith. He needs to put another big in their like TJones (who can't still spread the floor because he can shoot the 3).

1) Start utilizing their mid-range game (because this will open up the inside game)
2) Have both BIGS, PF & C, go for the offensive rebounds, they're getting killed on the glass.
3) Let Westbrook drive it in and make 1 BIG take the charge (but they have to make sure they rotate quickly to prevent WBrook from passing out or feeding the inside guy
4) Let Jlin play the PG
I know we are hard in Lin but really the whole team is flat.
ReplyDeleteNow you're talkin'
DeleteLol wow parsons...
ReplyDeleteParsons 30 mins of open look, brick.
ReplyDeleteHahaha this game is a joke now.
ReplyDeleteRox so out matched.
McHale trying to give Lin the ball but its too late.
Yes, it's a steep uphill now. That weird Bev, Del setup with Lin at SG killed us. I mean, when has that really worked this season?
DeleteI think now we are seeing how young the Rockets are.
DeleteEveryone going for homerun play or one on one hero ball.
Yes, Joe, good post. We have no stopping power today. Very bad team awareness and focus.
DeleteDitto, Joe, you are spot on.
DeleteNo real PF is killing us. Lin is having a bad night, but I think a lot of it is due to no team ball. No one comes to bail him out when he is trapped, he gets no screens or partial screens that leaves him trapped. No one is cutting so he's had to make homerun passes.

f.cuk. aldfkjal;skdfja;lksdfj;lakdsjfl; 4 fouls on Lin, now we're not gonna see him.
ReplyDeleteAsik is so useless on offense it's not even funny...worst butterfingers I've ever seen
ReplyDeleteLin playing some good D in the 2nd half. Needs to get his shot going. OKC just a little tough right now. I don't think Rox are really playing that bad really.
ReplyDeleteHe will come out much much stronger in Game 2.
Lin bad. Asik bad. Harden pressing. Parsons off. The team looks like they are not ready for the playoffs. Only bev came to play.
ReplyDeleteBut as Lin fan, disappointed in his performance. Too many mistakes. Hope he just finds his game in the time he has left to play tonight.
honestly dude, your whining is terrible.
Deletethese guys are professional nba players, they're gonna be competitive. It's not like they chose to have a bad game.
yeah....Lin purposely didn't come out to play bc....why? that makes no sense.
Thank you k.smith. We shouldn't eat our own here. Rox just playing terribly, and people here just harping on Lin. It's a team game.
DeleteNo u just don't wanna hear the truth. He didn't play well tonight. I'm not exaggerating. Lets not sugercoat it.
DeleteThe team is not playing well. What is it about what I said makes u so angry. U just wanna hear compliments about Lin even when he is not playing well??? Gimme a break,
Welcome to the playoffs where even great players like Lebron can have bad games.
Delete1st time for Lin is usually a dud. Then he makes his adjustments.
Solidz - I am not saying Lin did well, but you are harping on Lin. Did you not see a key TO by Harden at the end of first half? How about Bev's awful airball? DeleteIs it just me or is Asik terrible at screens, wasn't even set and he took off leaving Lin double teamed...
ReplyDeleteAsik sucks at screens. It's been like that since day one. One early game, Asik screened Lin, LOL.
DeleteI blame all this on the COACH. You can't win without a good playbook. This team doesn't have a complex playbook, it's too basic. It will be a short series if they can't fine tune their offense.
ReplyDeleteYeah this variance and randomness fdo not wirk in the playoffs. Players needs to stick to the foundation when things get tough. Without defined positions, people start playing out of their comfort zone. If everyone has their own responsibilities things would be much easier.
DeleteLol our bigs are so no match against OKC.
ReplyDeleteit's pretty bad. comical. oh well.
DeleteLin 4 fouls ... Will not see him back until mid of fourth or maybe not at all.
ReplyDeleteIf the Rox come back with bev...
Just forget about this game, hope he can do better next 3 games.
ReplyDeleteLin may not see the floor again in this game. If Beverley does well, McHale gonna keep him on the floor. If Beverley does not do well, this game will turn into a blowout soon.
ReplyDeleteMissed a full quarter..rushed to get home...i hope lin will redeem himself in second half
ReplyDeleteI don't think he is coming back in for a while,.
DeleteLin came out better in the 3rd qtr but got his 4th foul on Durant, now he's on the bench.
DeleteWow Ibaka what a beast on D and offense.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's why he alone gets paid more than the entire Rockets frontcourt put together.
DeleteKHuang I know you are not watching the game so I'll explain it to you this way:
DeleteIbaka is draining long 2s and 3s on Houston lol.
how long does it take for lin to play off the ball well? 2 seasons?
ReplyDeleteBeverley did ok this game.
ReplyDeleteProblem is rest of Rox is playing terrible.
Inexperience? But that doesn't explain Harden. Lin is having an off night. I see a lot of confusion out there.
no one's really playing well (I know lin will be the scapegoat though).
DeleteLin has 4 fouls by the way.
ReplyDeleteWB cross over and blows past PB at will.
ReplyDeleteThis is why you need Lin even if he is playing bad. Too bad he has 4 fouls :(
Beverley is lucky he didn't fall down. WB broke his ankles.
Deletei hope lin reads all the haters' tweets, gets very angry and comes out very strong next game!
ReplyDeleteThe real issue here is that Houston's bigs are useless offensively. Asik can't finish, bobbles the ball all the time. Smith can't finish. If there was a reliable big that could finish it would open up the game so much for the guards.
ReplyDeletetrue.

Overall, I more confused with people's negative attitudes than Lin.
Good recap, agreed.
Deletethe negativity towards Lin is over the top.
Hooray for you, wild ... I say correct, but hey, I could be wrong.
Deletewilc
DeleteWell.. One Rox reporter think that Rox is burned easily without Asik & Parsons.. Now Both of them are on the court... Why is still Rox being burned ???
ReplyDeleteRockets have 64 points with 1 minute left in third.
DeleteOKC defense is good, but not that good.
Ice cold shooting early on, but now everyone is going one on five against OKC.
And Lin was horrible in third quarter, because of his decision making.
DeleteTrying individual hero ball and too many home run plays (everyone else on team doing same thing, but as point guard, he needs to settle things).
What we needed then was Reno Big Horns Lin, not hero ball Linsanity 1.0 mentality Lin.
Lin was trying to get his teammates going, they simply couldn't convert.
DeleteYeah., I mean what CP and Aisk doing ??? and this Rox reporter is totally dumb ...
DeleteActually Linsanity Lin involved his entire team. Yes he was scoring PG, but role players stepped up and hustled.
DeleteWe are seeing none of that here. In fact the ball is just plain sticky.
Seems like everyone has something to prove.
going to bed early...frustrating...that bounce pass/ turnover...what was he thinking!!!!??? Playoff jitters is one thing, but that was a bonehead move.
ReplyDeleteGame is already a blowout??? How did this happen??
ReplyDeleteGuys playing one on one and not moving the ball unless they can't beat their guy off the dribble. OKC packing the paint, with good inside D. Also expecting the shot from outside, so stays close to perimeter for quick close out. @Etym pointed out a few things up thread e.g. Rox doing some midrange would have helped, plus let JLin run PG and run sets for him.
Deletewe should make a run here. okc's bench is playing with wb.
ReplyDeletePB cannot guard WB at all.
ReplyDeleteHe is trying, but he cannot do any thing against WB. WB out plays him speed wise, athletic wise, and shooting wise.
They need Lin back in.
Nice follow up by TJ on Harden miss.
ReplyDeleteAND WB does it again. Lol its getting sad.
o/c's biggest lead came with Lin off the court...just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteWB doing a lot of scoring and dishing at PB's expense.
DeleteThis is why Lin will always be starting PG. PB is just a step slow. Lin doesn't allow WB to get into the launch pad, and forces him to pass. PB just doesn't have Lin's on ball skills and it shows.
agreed.
DeleteWestbrook is just toying with Beverley.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not mistaken all 4 Lin's foul was because the team shortcoming which put Lin in difficult situation and have to foul
ReplyDeleteEh Lin have 5 fouls?
DeleteLin is back in 4q.
ReplyDeleteWB and Durant on fire.
Well Durant anyway, misspoke WB is on bench.
DeleteThey didn't know how important was the suns and Lakers games.
ReplyDeletesuns, stupid loss
DeleteOne of the thing thatvi think is the reason for lin's poor play is that he as really playing out of his comfort zone. IMO shooting is his biggest weakness and that was what he was asked to do most if the first half without the ball in his hands. I mean bev ran the point.
ReplyDeleteWhen his shooting failed, Lin tried to contribute by doing other things and he pressed a bit with difficult passes.
Hopefully he will come back stronger next game.
well said
DeleteLike I said he is misused.
DeleteMcHale at his finest. I don't blame Lin much, but playing his weakness isn't exactly a good way to leverage him in a playoff game.
Parsons was PG for a while there. Shows you how inept this coaching team/system is.
Lin cannot hit a single jumper.
ReplyDeleteI guess its about time for him to have a bad shooting game.
See that's what Lin needs. PB just crosses over composes himself and nails a contested 3.
ReplyDeleteThey are just hitting 3s over Lin all night.
ReplyDeletewhen did lin get his 5th foul?
ReplyDeleteLike 5 sec into the 4th Q.
DeleteStart of the 4th quarter. BS foul on him when Durant drove.
Deletehelp defense by lin again...smh
ReplyDeleteAnd again lol Fisher owning Lin.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Fisher finally revenge on Lin for Knicks Linsanity spin move on him :-)
ReplyDeleteYep I called it 30pt blow out.
ReplyDeleteO man! That's so embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteFisher trying to embarrass Lin for the Linsanity game.
ReplyDeleteWow this is really embarrassing. But truth be told the Rox has not looked well the previous two games either while OKC had been on fire. Team going in opposite directions .. Mixed them up and this is what u get.
ReplyDeleteFisher wants to take Lin bad. He remembers the Lakers game last year.
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally that's the Lin Rockets need.
DeleteLinsanity Lin.
Of course, with sane minutes, not 40+ a game.
Okc is playing solid in total contrast to houston's chaotic game...none of the rockets can penetrate the paint, at the same time the midrange and 3's are not connecting too.
ReplyDeletec'mon HOU, bring the lead down to 20.
ReplyDeleteLin has no excuses this game. Poor shooting, poor decision making.
ReplyDeleteThis quarter he has the ball in his hands with no Harden on the floor and he's still doing nothing but deferring to Beverley.
Just a disaster performance. ESPN has been criticizing him all night.
well, if this is what lin has been waiting for...for all the heartache we've been enduring together with him all season long.
DeleteThis is fair.
DeleteIn the POR game, bev played pg and lin played sg but the ball ran through Lin. This time, it's going through Bev...because Lin's deferring the ball.
It's on Lin.
This is probabily Lin's worst game in the biggest stage.
ReplyDeleteGuys, gals, I'm going to watch the rest of this loss in peace. Thanks for putting up with me - Solidz , I wasn't on you for callin' Lin. I was just saying it's not all Lin to the fans at large. The only way to cope with this very poor team performance is to not get too amped about our fav. player - he didn't play well, but so much of this team was off tonight.
ReplyDeleteHave fun, see you sometime post game or next game. McHale's system is now exposed ... many of you like that, I'm sure.
I'm ok with this game. This is a series and Lin is getting valuable experience. He will learn and make the necessary adjustments for Game 2 and beyond
ReplyDeleteonly thing that sucks is that we're gonna have to wait a couple days for him to redeem himself. the media/genera fans/haters are gonna be all over him.
DeleteYeah at this point what matters more is how Lin will come out the next game. I will chuck this poor performance to lack of playoff experience. He will have opportunities to redeem himself.
DeleteBut the team didn't look good at all. They really look like an 8th seed.
remember that one PHX game where the bigs were setting double screens for lin, what happen to that? They only did that with DMo in the game so maybe that's why they're not doing it anymore?
ReplyDeleteGood move to pull Lin now so he does not foul out with 8 minutes
ReplyDeleteGame is over, good day and good night to you all
ReplyDeletei'm confused.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely the worst game I've ever seen Lin play.
ReplyDeletewhoa, things have gotten so bad that aaron brooks is in the game.
ReplyDeleteUGLY. Everything went wrong tonight.
ReplyDeleteJeremy was used incorrectly from the start...and he mostly did poorly when he did handle or shoot the ball.
At least they did crappy enough to realize that tonight's "strategy" won't work.
Lin's been misused all season, what makes us think that he'll be used correctly during the playoffs?
Delete24 assists vs 12.
ReplyDeleteI hope Rockets realize ISOs don't win games.
I was kind of surprised at Lin following suit...He was pretty sticky with the ball as well.
They need a playoff team, not a bunch of heroes.
The entire team was pressing when things got tough.
Deletewhen's the next game?
Deletethanks via
DeleteWorst game of the season. No offense, no defense, no nothing.Jeremy getting to the rim and making stupid passes instead of shooting. He hasn't hit one jumper yet, WHY not shoot at the rim?!!!!!!!!!!! ugh.
ReplyDeleteTake my words guys, if OKC win this first game, ROCKETS WILL WIN THIS PLAYOFF, they are the final champion, 4 - 3 win over OKC.
ReplyDeletereally? love ur optimism.
DeleteHahaha you're joking right.
DeleteGame 2 WILL BE BETTER.
ReplyDelete[Stay away fr CF tonight...]
i wouldn't go there until lin has a good game.
Deleteeven though it's a blow out, would you keep the starters on the bench or play them to the end?
ReplyDeletelin is used incorrectly. but he can't handle hold his dribble. and we haven't even mentioned the dumb passes in traffic. every team in the league knows you can get him shook just by adding a bit of pressure. how he hasn't prepared since the miami game is just amazing to me.
ReplyDeleteand he's being called out by kenny smith, who's been more than fair to him.
Deletei hope it's a psychological game lin is playing on OKC...he will really ball 3rd game onward.
DeleteExpect see fishers cross over Lin and hit that 3 on espn and haters all over ask to start Bev, just hope Lin keep his head down and heart through all this and redeem himself next game, I still believe this game was a good experience to learn for Lin and bouncing back is a statement
ReplyDeleteFor the first time this year, Lin played poorly without McHale holding him back. Lin tried really hard tonight. It just wasn't his night. I am actually kind of glad he had an awful first game and errant passes not in the crucial minutes. Great great learning experience.
ReplyDeleteMcHale did show a lot of faith in Lin today. I think Lin plays well in 3 out of next 4 remaining games (yes I think they take one).
mchale played Lin bc bev was already on the court.
DeleteLin was on because parsons was in foul trouble.
Deletei don't like the jump shooting lin because of the harden isolation plays. i like to see the lin who drives it in and make things happen. very poor coaching.
ReplyDeleteOKC can do this to any team. If you guys remember, OKC did this to the Lakers last year and did it to the Spurs. Even did it to the HEAT. They have games in the playoffs where they blowout teams. This is one of those games.
ReplyDeleteBut this is not an excuse.
8/34 treys
ReplyDeleteHow's that moneyball workin' out for you Morey?!
Guys please tell me there were other young pt guards who were this inconsistent that turned out to be reliable players? This performance was scary!
ReplyDeleteParker :)
DeleteI'm still confused. In the first qtr, was Lin deferring and playing off the ball by choice or was it by design?
ReplyDeleteKnowledgeable bball fans, help me out here.
The two main Lin on NBA games, he played very bad
ReplyDeleteMiami last season and Okc now in play-offs
Strengthen psychological please Lin
