today's game is at 10:30pm ET (9:30 Houston time).
by the time the game is over, it will be around 1am ET, then they have to fly to Denver for a back-to-back.
which genius in NBA came up with such schedule?
I'm sure NBA earns tons of money out of fans, ads, merchandise sales, etc., why can't they invest some money in using computer/technology to come up with a more humane schedule, no team should have any back-to-back like this.
Certainly the schedule has a lot of space for improvement.
Keep in mind though that many of the venues are scheduled for other events like music concerts, so there are certain 'givens' that the NBA schedule has to work around. MSG for example is known to run a very tight schedule in fitting in as many events as possible. Any scheduling limitations of even a single venue will impact the schedule of teams in the entire league.
That's life on the road and the NBA owners demand that visiting teams travel that way so they're tired and likely to lose. It makes the home crowd happy to see wins.
It's only 2.5 hours from Portland to Denver. There are a lot worse back to backs.
Lin with the first miss off a short floater which he shot too hard, but was able to get the rebound and pass inside to G. Smith who got fouled and his at the foul line. G. Smith makes both shots.
I thought I wouldn't be seeing Rox' Point Forward tonight as Parsons out, but Garcia stepped up and picked up the slack. So the "Everyone's a PG except for the PG" musical chair continues.
McFail isn't happy with all the rebounding Portland is able to get and called a quick time out to rip into Jeremy Lin for allowing it to happen. If he yells at Asik then Asik will curse at him in Turkish.
lin has 1 p,3 assist 1 turnover hope mchell doesnt yank him for the rest of the game... lol at the Blazers announcers talking shit about harden and lin
It's amazing the NBA operates like this. The scorer just decided to ignore the rules and take away a positive stat from Jeremy -- "No Asian should upstage Lilliard!" They won't allow it.
Jeremy has to battle refs, scorers and coaches in addition to opposing teams. No other young PG could be cheated like this and succeed.
lol if lin had hardens green light to do whatever he wants he would have 20+ points average too... i just dont like harden, he wants all the spotlight for himself
When Harden takes over the entire offence you can see the rest of the team getting disengaged. They just keep feeding him the ball and every one is out of the rhythm of the game. Not as fun to watch as team ball
the thing i hate about mchell/harden is, that after the last 3 games, where lin ran the point real real good, he is backto spot up shooter/harden doing everything mode...yes harden is hot right now but cmon give lin a chance at least. whatever i´m gonna stop complaining now, just get this win, hopefully the dumb warriors are gonna lose tonight
Lin should have 4 assists right now not 3. Is it true the league will review and correct stats if you file a complaint or send in evidence? I've heard it from somewhere but not sure.
This game proves that McHale looks at Lin behind Parsons. He definitely values Parsons more than Lin, if Parsons was in this game there is no way that Lin would start the 2nd quarter along with Beverley.
LOL, McHale with his random rotation experiments! If you keep trying random things, eventually one of them will work. The question is if he'll be smart enough to recognize which one to keep.
Again, people laugh when we suggest Lin is as good or better than Irving, Lilliard, Rubio...and then he DESTROYS THEM EVERY TIME he's allowed to handle the ball.
Difference from Lin playmaking vs Harden playmaking. Lin's playmaking benefit everyone while Harden's mainly benefit himself. But I guess that's the difference between a PG and a SG trying to play PG.

Still, the schedule seems ridiculous.
That's life on the road and the NBA owners demand that visiting teams travel that way so they're tired and likely to lose. It makes the home crowd happy to see wins.
DeleteIt's only 2.5 hours from Portland to Denver. There are a lot worse back to backs.
I read it's just one guy and a spreadsheet/program. Must be a very bad one!
Delete@psalm234, yeah I saw that article too, I forget where it was. Isn't it amazing?
DeleteFatigue really diminishes the quality of the product the NBA puts out. I'm surprised the league doesn't have a smarter way of doing it.
It isn't expensive to invest in a decent scheduling software...NBA so cheapskate?
DeleteAh, I think complaining about the NBA schedule for the Rockets at this point is kind of stupid!!! LIVE WITH IT!'n
DeleteLin needs to work on that floater..
ReplyDeleteYup, totally agree. He floated it too soon making it too tough of a floater. He could have dribbled one more step and then released it.
DeleteLin with the first miss off a short floater which he shot too hard, but was able to get the rebound and pass inside to G. Smith who got fouled and his at the foul line. G. Smith makes both shots.
ReplyDeleteSo far Asik and G. Smith is letting Aldridge getting the rebound over them and he is able to score on both possession.
ReplyDeleteLma always kills the rox
ReplyDeleteAldrige is hot so far. He scored 90% of Portland's score right now.
ReplyDeleteI thought I wouldn't be seeing Rox' Point Forward tonight as Parsons out, but Garcia stepped up and picked up the slack. So the "Everyone's a PG except for the PG" musical chair continues.
ReplyDeleteWow, where's the defense.
ReplyDeleteMcFail isn't happy with all the rebounding Portland is able to get and called a quick time out to rip into Jeremy Lin for allowing it to happen. If he yells at Asik then Asik will curse at him in Turkish.
ReplyDeleteGarcia -> 3/3
ReplyDeleteWhat happens to Parson?
ReplyDeleteHe's not starting
So annoying hearing the commentators cream over Harden. He doesn't make his teammates that much better.
ReplyDeleteGarcia is phenomenal!!
ReplyDeleteLin with a bad home run pass to Garcia which got intercepted by a lengthy Portland player.
ReplyDeleteI'm fine with giving the pick and pop to LMA. Just go at him to get him in foul trouble. Harden already made him pick up one.
ReplyDeleteHarden playing well. Lin.....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful split!
ReplyDeleteWow, first time Lin has split the defenders in a long while1
ReplyDeleteLin with a nice feed to Asik off of a Greg Smith PnR and driving into the lane.
ReplyDeleteHow many times will these announcer will talk about Lin getting cut on Xmas...
ReplyDeleteThis game doesn't look so easy.
ReplyDeleteLin needs to move off the ball more to cut to the basket.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, he would look 'ineffective' with the eye test.
He hasn't had a chance to be the playmaker much. Harden plays very well so far.
Wow can the announcers be any more retarded? Lin benefits from Harden doing all the playmaking because he's a great spot shooter? Christ.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI hate the announcers who know nothing about Jeremy's game. Great spot up shooter?
ReplyDeleteSeriously how do these clowns even have jobs....
Deleteyeah the announcers dont have a clue
DeleteHa its crazy
DeleteIt's typical announcing: they describe what they JUST saw in the most recent plays, and then extrapolate that for the whole season.
DeleteI bet he watched one game when Lin made those 3PTs with 'his feet set'
DeleteSMH
Seriously do some research before the game.
DeleteDystopia,
DeleteIt's simply racial profiling, but at this stage, after Linsanity, it's comical...
I will always remember CWebb say "I knew he could shoot but.." about Lin.
It is what it is!
beautiful assist by Lin to Asik!
ReplyDeleteIf Lin doesn't get time to play into rhythm, were gonna lose.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see if McHale let's him get into his rhythm.
DeleteLin with an assist to Harden who was trailing and stopped at the 3 point line during the fast break.
ReplyDeleteLin shooting is really off tonight... That one shot off the pick was ugly.
ReplyDeletedumbest announcers ever
ReplyDeleteJeremy's assist to Harden not counted?
ReplyDeleteUsual scorer BS. They cheat him every chance they get. Harden didn't even dribble it once. He just pump faked.
DeleteRondo gets assists on every three dribble or less basket.
Dumb scorers too.
Deletelooks like it wasn't counted. robbed again.
DeleteClueless announcer
ReplyDeleteMorey tweeted that McHale should be COY due to getting the Rockets to a playoff berth with inexperienced young players.
ReplyDeleteMorey probably forget to take his medicine.
DeleteI think Morey needs shock therapy often. He might know how to pick players, but have no clue on coaches.
DeleteHarden is a scoring machine!!! Over/under 40pts??
ReplyDeleteGreg Smith looked pissed at Harden as he came out of the game. Lin seemed to try and mediate. I wonder what that was about
ReplyDeleteHarden probably was pissed he got a turnover when there was miscommunication between him and Smith.
DeleteDid grey smith just argue with harden before Lillard do his freeflow?
ReplyDeletelooked like an argument to me.
DeleteToday the beard is running the show.
ReplyDeleteWhich means Lin will have little action in the 4th qtr.
DeleteLin got the assist to Harden and he gets pulled for Beverly out of the time out. WTF McBail?!!!
ReplyDeleteHis usual time is up. Happens in every game. Did u really expect something different?
DeleteSo Nike hooked bev up with some new kicks...
ReplyDeleteHarden flopped Matthews LOL.
ReplyDeleteIf Hardens playing well, it could give Mchale a bigger reason to give Bev more mins for his hustle and defense over Lin.
ReplyDeletelin has 1 p,3 assist 1 turnover
ReplyDeletehope mchell doesnt yank him for the rest of the game...
lol at the Blazers announcers talking shit about harden and lin
correction, 2 assists. They didn't give him the assist on the pass to Harden at the 3 point line. Why, I have no clue.
DeleteBeen happening all season, Lin always gets screwed on stats.
DeleteIt's amazing the NBA operates like this. The scorer just decided to ignore the rules and take away a positive stat from Jeremy -- "No Asian should upstage Lilliard!" They won't allow it.
DeleteJeremy has to battle refs, scorers and coaches in addition to opposing teams. No other young PG could be cheated like this and succeed.
On the other hand guys like Rondo get inflated assists and stats that aren't even deserved.
DeleteHarden has a revenge game against Wes Matthews since he got his number the last time.
ReplyDeleteHow did that Harden 3 not get credited as an assist for Lin? Seems he always gets screwed.
ReplyDeleteBeverly got on doo doo shoes.
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting. Anderson subbed in for Lin so Harden is really the PG now.
ReplyDeleteIt's official!
Oh did I see Bev out there now?
DeleteNever mind.
DeleteFor a while, Garcia (not Bev) was in with Anderson
golden state trails PHX by 9
ReplyDeleteHarden is hitting most of his 3 point shots today. 17 points. He is competing with Aldridge for high score today.
ReplyDeleteGarcia was hot 3/3 too. He should shoot more.
DeleteLMA has a beautiful game...
ReplyDeleteHe has a sweet J and has long wing span.
DeleteThat's a player Rox could use.
DeleteYup, I always like LMA game. I was saying that the Rockets would have been better if they can acquire him instead of Milsap.
Deletelol if lin had hardens green light to do whatever he wants he would have 20+ points average too...
ReplyDeletei just dont like harden, he wants all the spotlight for himself
He's got the hot hands so he kept shooting.
DeleteThe danger is he forgets to involve his teammates like his last 3PT miss. That was a bad shot selection but he got a gimme or two.
Going under the screen for Lillard is a no-no.
ReplyDeleteLin looks like hurt on his hands
ReplyDeleteLin did a good job defending Lillard but watch he's heating up now.
ReplyDeleteLin did a really good job of getting BETWEEN Lillard and the screen set for Lillard.
Deletetrue, and Lin tried to funnel him to his right.
DeleteIt might be from watching film sessions.
Smith picked up his 2nd. Take him out before the 3rd
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThat is wrong on so many levels...
Deletedont get me wrong, i like beverley... more than harden at least.
Delete@hans you are an absolute idiot
DeleteU don't call a black person ape..
DeleteHans, that's just wrong. Delete your comment man. Be better than HOU fans.
Deletebeverly is a nice hardworking young player, show the boy some love please.
DeleteI'm glad the quarter is over.
ReplyDeleteSmith is great but he tends to pick up too many fouls.
So where is t jones?!
ReplyDeleteHe was in there for G-Smith after the time out. Lin was talking to him and G Smith.
DeleteLin make them look like stars. Harden makes them look like scrubs.
DeleteStupid fouls, stupid players. I'm talking in a general sense, not just this game.
ReplyDeleteI just hate McHale's substitution pattern. Just when Lin looks like he is about to get into a rhythm, he comes out. So many times during this season.
ReplyDeleteWhen Harden takes over the entire offence you can see the rest of the team getting disengaged. They just keep feeding him the ball and every one is out of the rhythm of the game. Not as fun to watch as team ball
ReplyDeleteHarden benched!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteWhat da hell is this?!
ReplyDeleteLin in there with Beverly and got an assist on the give and go to Beverly.
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful. Defense is fluid too.
DeleteBeautiful Lin's pass back to Bev knowing there is clear path to the basket!
ReplyDeleteSuper Court-Vision!
DeleteLillard schooled Beverley on that drive, Beverley was behind him by 10 ft.
ReplyDeleteLin scored
ReplyDeleteLook. At. This. Lineup!
ReplyDelete7-0 to start 2Q!
DeleteLinsanity team ball w/ no Harden, baby!
Harden high fiving everyone coming off the court but teammates reluctantly high gives back.
DeleteLIn scored on a fade away jumper on Lillard. Lillard complained to Ref that Lin pushed off.
ReplyDeleteBall started moving!
ReplyDeleteThe guys are playing with more intensity with Harden on the bench.
Deletethe thing i hate about mchell/harden is, that after the last 3 games, where lin ran the point real real good, he is backto spot up shooter/harden doing everything mode...yes harden is hot right now but cmon give lin a chance at least. whatever i´m gonna stop complaining now, just get this win, hopefully the dumb warriors are gonna lose tonight
ReplyDeleteholy crap defense becomes 1000 times better once harden is off the floor
ReplyDeleteI like this line up... Did not see that coming..
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see McHale stagger Lin and Harden's playtime. Finally.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the article that McFail is having more confidence in Lin is true.
Deletebeverly and lin have pretty good chemistry
ReplyDeleteGive credit to McHale benching Harden.
ReplyDeleteHe actually tried to reward Harden by giving some rest but he'll be floored watching the Linsanity team ball here.
DeleteAll of a sudden the game is fun to watch!
ReplyDeleteThank you McHell for this 5 minutes of fun!
You're welcome, just remember to vote for me for COY!
Delete--Love, Mchale.
Nice lin to bev pass, the defense looks good
ReplyDeleteJeremy Lin with one of his DOMINANT stretches.
ReplyDeleteGot a stop, got an assist, got another stop, got a score.
It can seem like Lin lulls people to sleep, but that guy just KILLS opponents. No wonder Houston wins so much when Lin does everything.
not a PB fan but Lin and PB on the same time looks pretty darn good.
ReplyDeleteDid you see Bev block Lillard? Lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the ball movement an defense but besides Lillard, were playin their bench
ReplyDeletethat means Lin team-ball will be slightly more dominating :)
DeleteStarting to look like a blow out!
DeleteHouston should be over 70% winning percentage if not for McHell!
Lin should have 4 assists right now not 3. Is it true the league will review and correct stats if you file a complaint or send in evidence? I've heard it from somewhere but not sure.
ReplyDeleteWe're running a small line up.
ReplyDeleteThis game proves that McHale looks at Lin behind Parsons. He definitely values Parsons more than Lin, if Parsons was in this game there is no way that Lin would start the 2nd quarter along with Beverley.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Garcia? He was shooting lights out in the 1st quarter.
ReplyDeleteLin needs to take over now while beard man is on the bench
ReplyDeleteLOL, McHale with his random rotation experiments! If you keep trying random things, eventually one of them will work. The question is if he'll be smart enough to recognize which one to keep.
ReplyDeleteMaybe on the 76th try is the charm :)
Deleteit's amazing.
ReplyDelete7 unanswered points.
EVeryone contribute.
Lin's killing the 2nd team :)
ReplyDeleteHe got the sleeve on!
ReplyDeleteLin with beautyful pass to DMO!
ReplyDeleteMakes it look so easy
DeleteIs McHale coming to his senses and resting harden it is it because parsons is out.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful defense by Lin -- denying Lillard the ball, then when he finally got it, shutting down the dribble drive.
ReplyDeleteWow, Lin with another beautiful pass to D-Mo. D-Mo almost fumbled the pass, but nevertheless he scored and Portland called another time out.
ReplyDeleteSampson just gave Lin a huge high five :O miracle
ReplyDeleteTeam ball!
ReplyDeleteLol Sampsons is the biggest LOF on the team.
ReplyDeleteHe's gonna do the Novak grind dance soon :)
DeleteDid u se sampson padding lin saying good job good job to lin
ReplyDeletesampson pushin lin lol
ReplyDeletedid you see kelvin sampson give lin mad props for his aggressive D going into that time out
ReplyDeleteT jones ignoring Lin. That stupid rookie..
DeleteYes
DeletePB getting two easy lay ups this quarter after receiving passes from Lin.
ReplyDeleteLin is finding all the holes and just found one for himself, lay up and 1!
DeleteHey Etane - seen Parsons? He looks more like Timberlake - not like Bieber.
Delete@willy - BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!I'm bringing sexy back?
DeleteDid he stop using paul mitchell hair product?
Deleteplease bench Harden LONGER!
ReplyDeletehe just whispered to coach he wanted to play...
DeleteThey have two big men and The Rox are small.
ReplyDeleteI don't have to understand it.
Lin the magician
Damn Harden back in.
ReplyDeleteLin's killing them...with Houston's 3rd team.
ReplyDeleteHe's schooling Lilliard on what a REAL PG does.
Again, people laugh when we suggest Lin is as good or better than Irving, Lilliard, Rubio...and then he DESTROYS THEM EVERY TIME he's allowed to handle the ball.
Ach! Jeremy was too aggressive on LMA -- almost caused a steal but reached in.
DeleteGotta watch foul trouble.
He got hurt on the foul?
DeleteUTTER GREYHOUNDING of the Blazers by Beverley and especially Lin.
ReplyDeleteLin is just deadly on defense. He just scored and ... just forced another turnover.
Lin is absolutely unbelievable this game. He's not even killing himself and he's utterly dominating. Scary good.
Lets see how harden meshes..
ReplyDeleteHarden back in after Lin picked up his 2nd foul.
ReplyDeleteWow, Harden subbed in for Lin.
ReplyDeleteNow they're splitting Harden and Lin time as the main PG!
He has two fouls. Arm hurting
DeleteFoul trouble for Jeremy -- mismatch on LMA and Jeremy is so good on D, he tried to bully LMA and got whistled for a foul (barely...almost a steal).
DeleteDMO is trying to be like McHale with those spinning post moves..
ReplyDeletewhy is jeremy lin wearing the wrap and icing his right arm now
ReplyDeleteD-Mo looks like he is dancing in the lane with his back and forth fakes. TV shows Lin has ice wrapped around his right elbow.
ReplyDeleteLin with ice on his right elbow?
ReplyDeleteIs he hurt? omg
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. If it were anything remotely serious, he'd be in the locker room.
DeleteAnnouncer said McHell said: if we don't have any turn overs, we have a chance to create something offensively.
ReplyDeleteNo DUH!!
Yeah it's like saying if they score more point, they will win this game.
DeleteHarden's 3PT is a bad shot selection.
ReplyDeleteNo passes at all in that possession!
Damn, game slowed down considerably with Harden back in the game.
ReplyDeleteFoul trouble on both sides.
ReplyDeleteHarden getting ATTACKED on defense.
ReplyDeleteT Jones 0 for 2. You're right. T Jones is exposed!
Deleteawww... hope the ice is to relieve his elbow from pressure...
ReplyDeleteDifference from Lin playmaking vs Harden playmaking. Lin's playmaking benefit everyone while Harden's mainly benefit himself. But I guess that's the difference between a PG and a SG trying to play PG.
ReplyDeleteHarden defend your man!
ReplyDeleteHis arm better fucking be okay! He's the only reason I watch HOU.
ReplyDeleteI hope people can see now what happens to the 'ball movement' when Lin is out of the game.
ReplyDeleteI counted only 0-3 passes/possesion with Harden in!
DeleteI think somebody mentioned that Lin hurt his hand way before. I believe it was after the play where G Smith was yelling at Harden.
ReplyDeleteBoxscore on nba.com/rockets says Garcia made
ReplyDelete3/3 FGM-A
3/3 3PM-A
=9 pts
How is that possible?
