  1. Jeremy took my advice there.

Didn't pass in traffic...went up for the shot. Got FTs!

  2. Lin is missing a lot of free throws. He needs to focus better because he gets fouled hard and needs to capitalize from the line.

    1. I think he's tired. A lot of his shots are just short..

      Delete
    2. He's exhausted, visibly slower. This is the 1st time in 10 games that McHale has played Lin big minutes.

  3. Love it so far 2nd half.

  4. They are spending so much time guarding Lin others are getting very very easy shots. Lol. Love this

  6. Jeremy just sucked the defense out of the Clippers, thank goodness Lin is not cheated as much / so little by the refs so far

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jeremy in attack-mode.

Even though his last layup was blocked (probably a foul), it wasn't a TO and they got possession back -- resulting in a 3 by Parsons.

Everything fixes itself when Jeremy looks to shoot.

  8. clippers announcers need to do their research, houston beat okc this season. and garcia was from sacramento kings not san francisco kings.

  9. Wow. Lin playing Hero ball but not making anything. But they are winning!!!!

    1. Hockey assists for Lin.

nice to see Lin play hero ball this season for a change.

Not a great stat line for Lin , but everyone got involved. A team ball! (;~) A great game by the Rockets.

  10. Lin treated normally by McHale !!! (;~O) (;~))) WOW!

Wow! In this game, so far, McHell has treated Lin like a real starter - like the rest of the coaches in the league treats their starters!!! What gives? I know Harden is out tonight, but that can't be it.

McHell has taken out Lin with 2 minutes played in the 1st quarter (where Lin was so so with 3 TOs) with the game tied at 21. A lot of players start out slow a lot of times. Anyway, Beverley comes in and played well along with the rest of the bench players. Now, what was HIGHLY UNUSUAL is McHale actually re-inserted Lin (and took Beverley out) with about 6:30 left in the 2nd quarter WITH the team leading 40-34 !!!! ... That has never happened before that I know of !!! McHale has always treated Lin as a defacto backup and the backups as defacto starters BY LETTING THE BACKUPS PLAY THRU MISTAKES but NOT Lin (as long as the backups played a little poorly than Lin and up or until the Rockets lead dwindled too much).

Therefore, McHale's behavior tonight was highly unusual, in that he's treating Lin like a typical starter in the league - not reflecting his bias, racism, or politics !!!! (;~O). Wow,just WOW!

    1. The Result was a Win for the Rockets !!!

Will it register in McHell's brain? Probably

Will McFail go back to the old ways? Ab.so.lute.ly!

    2. Wow! Who would have thought the Rockets would lead by 22 points at the end of 3rd quarter ?!?!^&$@!

Interestingly, no Harden. And McHale has let Lin play through his horrid mistakes early on.

I had a feeling that the Rocket would win this because Harden was out, but I didn't mention it (I also answered back to my inner voice "Nahhhh.... don't be delusional, self" LOL). Harden is a great offensive player, but I thought because everybody would chip in and everybody would be included - and thus everybody would feel useful and have fun too.

    1. Paul always has - usuallu he get away with superstar treatment. Crooks. Why does superstars need refs to cheat for them.

In this game, they are calling the game fairly more or less. It seems to me the refs have actually called slightly in the hometown's favor. But the clippers have played tough.

      Delete
    2. @redking,

CP3 always plays dirty but especially against Lin. CPaul is Carmelo's best friend.

    1. It's the good kind of TO we need to have an aggressive game where Clips are on their heels.

      Delete
    2. That was D-Mo's fault.

He called for a lob and then decided he didn't want it after the pass was in the air, lol.

      Delete
    3. Lin needs to work on those entry passes. He can't seem to get the ball inside the post ... that's one of the reasons the Knicks let him go, he couldn't deliver the ball inside to Melo who was posting up.

      Delete
    4. These Houston bigs don't know how to establish position or catch.

      It's not all on Lin.

Besides, Lin with Melo under Woodson went 6-1! They just KILLED people.

  18. YEAH. SHAO-LIN.

    Jeremy in attack-mode.

Even that TO was D-Mo's fault 100%.

    3. If 6 JLin TOs always result in 16 pt leads -> keep turning it over JLin!

    4. You think 16 pts with 6 TOs is good? That's way too many TOs. Gotta cut it to 3 TOs or less to be good.

      Delete
    5. I'll take 16 pts, 6 TO's, and a 17 point win EVERY TIME.

      Delete
    6. Yeah but I doubt this will ever happen again. Hou played well but Clips were way off this game.

  24. This game has too many highs and lows for Lin. Great plays by Jeremy then careless, ugly turnovers.

    ReplyDelete
  25. bad idea to try and cross cp3...

    ReplyDelete
  26. These second half TOs aren't bad.

One was D-Mo's fault and the other was Clippers getting away with fouls.

    Just win baby.

    1. LOL. Agreed!

Jeremy has played great this half. They've got a BIG LEAD against an elite Western Conf team.

      Delete
    2. More than that.
They have found a team of strength.
The should give a big raise to Parson and Smith.

      Delete
    3. When Harden isn't stinking up the defensive end by letting his man penetrate at will, the Rockets big men can actually play like big men.

      Delete
  29. A TO trying to find your teammate for an easy basket is not bad. Keeps the team involved. You can see how hard everyone is playing today. A TO where you just cough up the ball going iso is bad. All your teammates become demotivated.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Gotta give it to Bev ... a play like that keeps the momentum for Lin when he's back in the 4th.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Does anyone think rockets will be having this lead without lin? ( reminder.. Harden is not playing)This game proves who the second man is in this team

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope.
He's an inspiration. All for one and one for all.

      Delete
    2. It's not inspiration, it's Lin's ability to run the offense and anchor the defense.

Lin's defense on Paul was phenomenal. Sure, Paul got his points and his assists, but what Lin did was prevent Paul from being a playmaker and get easy baskets for his teammates. How many dunks did Lobless City get tonight? Lin outplayed Paul, one of the top 2 or 3 point guards in the NBA. But, of course, people will instead talk about Lin's turnovers and no one will come out say the truth - Lin dominated the game tonight, especially in the third quarter.

      Delete
  32. This chaotic Hero ball works every time. Everyone wants to stop Lin so bad the other team always loses. It's as certain as taxes. Then his teammates respond because they see Lin getting mauled and they want to do well.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This team feel stronger than in pre-season or first against the Spurs. Line is stronger too. We've been in the Harden reality distortion field, that he's the key. Sure, he's amazing, but he's also been hurting this team.

      Delete
  33. I've been bashing Harden's stupid refusal to play defense for months.

When the Rockets don't have Harden being such a NET NEGATIVE because of his defenselessness, they play like a team on both ends of the court.

McHale is a poor defensive coach who does not hold Harden accountable. If Harden defended the way everybody is defending on the Rockets tonight, the Rockets would be playing much better.

I blame McHale for this - and I am the lone McHale fan on this forum.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Thank you KHuang for blaming McHale even though you love him

      Delete
    2. Can't agree more today tells the true story

      Delete
    3. McHale gets the blame AND the credit.

Right now he's looking like the coach Lin NEEDS.

      Delete
    4. We absolutely needed today to play out the narrative, but what a surprise it was Harden who sat out and let us compare how the team does without him. I thought today was going to be a narrative around McHale, but instead, it looks like Lin, Asik, Smith, and teamwork.

      Delete
    5. So true. I still dont know who to blame though. If you expect Harden to play 40 minutes a night THE WAY HE DOES you cant expect any defense :) Coaches should dramatically reduce his PT and make him play d. His d is not that bad...

      Delete
    6. Lin needs George Karl or Greg Poppovich but I'm aware that is wishful thinking for now

      Delete
    7. Lin needs McHale to just let him play, though I'm all for McHale hollering at Lin to stop those unforced turnovers.

      Delete
    8. Forget the TOs man. You yell at JLin because of the TOs he will stop playing his brand of bball. Whats the gain? As JLin matures his TOs will go down all by themselves.

      Delete
    9. Lin DESERVES to be yelled at for handing away those two turnovers in the first half to Chris Paul, and Paul wasn't even reaching in.

Lin also deserves to be stuck back in the game to ATONE for himself!

      Delete
  34. When Lin is making TOs, the team wins the game.
    Linsanity!!!!! arrives today

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Exactly. I can't believe this racist obsession about Lin's turnovers. No one gives a shit about Russell Westbrook's turnovers, Harden's turnovers. People only started to care about turnovers when Linsanity occurred, and it was the only thing they could use to say he was a fluke.

Or the refs. Or the Clippers magically play badly for no reason.

      Delete
    3. Why don't you guys wait till the game is over and THEN bash McHale?

It'll be more legit that way if you can just wait a few more minutes.

  43. Asik is very happy that Lin keep feeding him and give him a chance to post up play, written all over his face

  45. This isn't really all Lin. It's McHale's random ball working to perfection now that harden is out. Balls moving like crazy...

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think Lin's hurt. He was limping slowly up the court.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's why I am VERY HAPPY with Lin averaging only 30 minutes.

Lin gets illegally bashed more than any other player in NBA history.

      More minutes = more bashing.

After a certain point, Lin's body cannot recover from all the illegal hits. That's what happened last season.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, Lin will not last playing like this all the time. But it's so darn Lintertaining that got all of us a good adrenaline rush with fist pumps and screaming "Hell Yeah"

    1. No. But he's had much better games..shooting is atricious

      Delete
    2. Depends on how you see it. Judging by his numbers, his game isnt impressive especially his TO's, but the way he is affecting the outcome, he is absolutely carrying this team through. IMO, well done job for lin.

      Delete
    3. C'mon, solidz75.

This is the CLIPPERS with their ref protection and max contract superstars banging on Lin.

These guys have one of the best defenses in the league that Lin just SHREDDED.

Give the Clippers max contract guys some credit and cut Lin some slack!

      Delete
    4. Its not just his pts or TOs but his overall effect on his team when hes unleashed. UNLEASH THE LIN! EVERY GAME!

      Delete
    5. willydilly, exactly. You think it was a coincidence that Clippers started to make a comeback in the beginning of the fourth with Beverly at point and not Lin?

McHale put Lin right back in and ensured an easy victory the rest of the way.

      Delete
  48. Lin needs to take it hard to cp3. He has 5 fouls.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Omg! He just can't hit a jumper.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Who cares? He played great and now he has tired legs from playing superb defense and being hammered all night by the Clips.

      Delete
    2. You can see the shots are short. Tired legs but Lin kept CP3 a non factor.

      Delete
    3. red, zx, totally agree. Lin clearly focused on defense, because that was the key to winning the game. Who cares that he missed some shots when the game was clearly in control in the fourth? He actually had a good offensive game, getting key baskets at critical moments in the game, especially in the third quarter.

      Delete
  50. Yeah, sit Lin. Hes tired.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Lin really not feeling it from long range, also not feeling it since the halftime shootaround

    ReplyDelete
  52. The right thing to do for McHale is to sit Lin+Asik+Parsons+Delfino with 30 seconds left to get the applause

    ReplyDelete

    1. He's a good back up for Lin if McHale knows what he's doing.

      Delete
  56. It looked like McHale was matching Lin's rotation with that of CP3. They both played roughly the same amount of minutes tonight and it seemed whenever CP3 went out, Lin went out, when CP3 came in, Lin would come in.

Maybe this indicates that McHale knows Lin plays good D?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. McHale's been inserting Lin into games for defense ALL SEASON LONG.

      Nobody should be surprised here.

      Delete
    2. KH, no, he has not. How easy you forget McHale taking Lin out for "defense" against the Wizards right after he had shut down John Wall.

Trader, yes, McHale definitely made sure Lin was matched up against CP3.

      Delete
    3. Roberlin, Jeremy Lin was SICK SICK SICK that game.

He was sneezing, coughing, and looked like he was going to throw up!

You're way off base on this one.

      Delete
  57. Lin would've closed this game if the illegal hits had not caught up to him.

I don't wanna hear any bunk about how McHale should've left a limping Lin in the game.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I dont think anyone would attempt.that would be silly

      Delete
    2. KH, stop it. Very few people here are irrational haters of McHale or obsessed about Lin "finishing games." It was garbage time and McHale made the obviously easy decision to pull Lin as soon as the Clippers threw in the towel and pulled CP3.

      Delete
    3. You're the irrational one, Roberlin.

You only see McHale as evil.

      Delete
  58. Lin played really hard on defense- running into all those picks and chasing cp3 around- playing him tight. His conditioning probably sucks because he has not been playing a lot.

A good team win. Lin a well deserved rest. Hope McHale recognizes that.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Lin's conditioning DOES NOT SUCK.

Lin is the best two way guard in the entire NBA.

Any guard, including CP3 who got SCHOOLED by Lin this game, would be worn out playing both ends like Lin and taking those illegal hits.

      Delete
    2. I think a lot ppl will disagree with u because CP3 basically made 4 of Lin's 6 TOs.... But I do think Lin is playing good!

      Delete
    3. Yep I think Lin is doing great conditioning wise. He is just playing his heart out on both ends.

He can still stand to improve of course, but I can't complain about him getting ragged, esp defending against CP3 and still attacking for 15pts.

This is all star performance vs an all star.

      Delete
    4. Yeah but he really had to sacrifice his offense for defense. Clearly last 3 or 4 misses were due to fatigue. He will need to learn to adjust like the Jordan's or lebron a of the league - those guys play hard on both ends..,

      Delete
    5. He looked hurt tho, I hope he's ok.

      Delete
    6. Solidz, no, you can't really look to Lebron or Jordan as models for Lin, because they are not point guards. Point guard is the hardest, most taxing position to play, both on offense and defense, because the PG has the ball in his hands more than any other player.

I guarantee you, if Lebron had to guard Cp3 the entire game, his offense would suffer.

      Delete
  59. Can people shut up about Lin shooting 4-10???

Two garbage times misses on jumpers and FIFTEEN POINTS on only 10FGAs. That's superb efficiency.

He played great physical defense...that's why you miss jumpers. Fatigue.

It was team ball tonight...but he was the MVP. His 1st quarter TOs were the only bad thing he did tonight.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. stop making sense, zx. Lol.

It's sad, but the harshest critics of Lin are Lin fans, so harsh that they can't see that Lin played an amazing game tonight.

HE SHUT DOWN THE BEST PG IN THE NBA, and led his team to a blow out win over said best PG in the NBA. I'd rank this game as one of Lin's best games he's ever played, better than many of the games during Linsanity last year.

  61. This has been TEAMBALL.

See, I called it didn't I? Only way they'd beat Clippers is if Lin is given the reins.

    And boy did he deliver.

3 players tied at 15pts, and all 3 are off court. LOL awesome.

Lin did GREAT taking the beating and getting double/triple teamed, and attacking. I had issues with his 1st Q performance, but he did great otherwise.

This game was worth watching! Go Lin go Rockets!

    3. Did people notice how everyone was hustling to get into position?

IS MCHALE BLIND?!? YOU NEED LIN IN CONTROL!

Who cares about TO's if the team wins the game...

      Delete
    3. I would call them educated turnovers

      Delete
    4. I don't know those 1st q TOs were pretty bad...CP3 was basically standing in his passing lane anticipating his move and picked his passes...Boy that woke Lin up, McHale did right by letting him reset for a bit. He came back was passive then all the sudden bam turned on the heat.

Can't underestimate his opponent like that.

      Delete
    5. Kenoshi that is the key. He let him play thru mistakes and make adjustments. If harden was playing, either McHale takes the ball out of his hands and make Lin camp out in the corner, or sits him.

I rarely saw Lin just standing like a statue in the corner, rarely touching the ball. Everyone felt involved, because they knew there was no harden ball hogging. Will McHale and harden learn from this? I bet money absolutely NOT.

      Delete
    6. Lin makes everyone hustle.

Was great to watch. Reminiscent of the days where Lin was leading a team without Carmelo/STAT.

    1. 1-1 against the Clips and Spurs.

And the loss was an OT loss to the Spurs where Jeremy dropped 38/7 and McHale screwed up by keeping Jeremy out of the game for half of the 4th quarter (when the lead disappeared).

In other words, Jeremy used properly would be 2-0 without Harden against elite teams.

    1. Well, we can see on LP Harden chest slappin' Lin as he limped off the court still in the zone.

  65. This is the secret to win big for Houston:

Surround Lin as the PG with shooters (Parsons, Delfino/Garcia) and Asik/Smith/TRob inside the paint. This creates a lot of spacing so Lin/Harden can dribble drive or move the ball to find the shooters.

Use Harden's ISO as a secret weapon only because while it produces points, it makes other teammates less involved.

Don't let Parsons or Delfino to dribble-drive too much to avoid TOs.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Totally agree.

But heh well its how it goes, seriously doubt Morey/McHale will change anytime soon.

They HAD to give Lin the reins today.

      Delete
    2. They're still not switching/rotating fast enough on picks and allowing easy points for opposing guards.

But they did well defending today...Well because the #1 defensive liability wasn't on court today.

      Well done Rockets!

      Delete
    3. DEFEND DEFEND DEFEND.

Stop being pirouetted, Harden and Beverley. This ain't BALLET.

    4. haha... yes Kenoshi, the #1 defensive hole was not on the floor :D

With this recipe, they get a bit less randomness in ball-handling, fewer TOs, balanced attack and hot 3PT shooting.

But of course McHale can't see it well. He's not a PG :D

    5. Jeremy played scared for the first quarter...and he STILL beat an elite team. That's how good he is. He can beat the best even on an "off day."

Harden-centric ball struggles to beat mediocre teams even when he's hot. Not a knock on him, but he's not an all-around player and leader like Jeremy is. He's a super-elite scorer...that's all.

Jeremy Lin must play his position. That's something McHale will never understand. Even when the proof is right in front of him.

    6. KHuang I thought the team played for Jlin tonite rather against him as when ISo harden is in

    7. HAD to,meaning they had no choice. That's why i dont blame some peple wishing harden to sit out a few games, though it will only happen if he gets injured or sick and it's mean to wish him that

    8. Jeremy played "scared" in the first half??

      Huh???? What game was this???

The Clippers sent max contract Blake Griffin to help Chris Paul every time Jeremy Lin took a dribble. Greg Smith was abandoned by the Clips like he was a foreclosure, and that's why Greg Smith CASHED IN!

Lin also turned back Chris Paul on every play. Chris Paul had no trouble scoring and assisting against Beverley, though.

Lin wasn't scared. He was TRAPPED by $40 million worth of doubleteams!

  66. Lin was useful as a beating bag LOL. Good to know the punishment wasn't for naught. Putting CP3 into foul trouble was tremendous.

Seriously though, Lin has made a lot of improvement in learning to play D without fouling, which is really hard when matched against CP3 in tight areas. Just compare it to the last Clippers game, in which CP3 took him out of the game with the rip move that drew a foul.

    1. Yup. I saw that too. He knew the refs would look for any excuse to cheat him against CP3...so he backed off.

It gave CP3 a better stat line, but it also WON THE GAME for the Rockets because Jeremy wasn't in foul trouble like Paul. He could stay in and lead his team to victory.

    2. CP3 is a master at drawing fouls. It's more his skill at this than the refs being jerkoffs. You just can't give CP3 the opportunity to do that, and Lin was great about backing off when necessary. Avoiding fouls is a veteran skill. Something that someone like Smith has no comprehension of LOL.

    3. That really was the story of the night. He CP3-ed CP3.

  69. Gosh darn it. I really wanted the Rox to lose tonight. But then harden throws a curveball deciding to sit out.. And Lin plays a crucial part...

Guess McHale is not going anywhere. But I'm not fooled by McHale.. Still hate the dude.

    1. That's OK to hate McHale.

Just know that for this night, McHale was a GREAT coach for Jeremy Lin.

This is why I am McHale's lone fan on this forum.

    2. lin was lucky to come back in midway through the 2nd. only when mcfail pulled bev for his 2nd foul was lin reinserted. fuck mcfail.

    4. Solidz75, yeah McHale is a scumbag. Still was berating Lin from time to time during the game. Nothing will change and when Harden is back from his "injury" (truly laughable). Youu'll see Lin disrespected more and his minutes shrink back to 20-25 per game. Harden is the biggest prima dona in the NBA! He feigns injury to try and spite McHale for being benched against the Grizzlies, and thinks that'll teach him because he expects his team without him to be blown out by the Clippers! And it fucking backfires on Harden! Did you hear what Clyde Drexler said during the game about Harden? Clyde Drexler said this and he is one of the biggest Harden nut riders in history: "James Harden decided he was injured enough to sit this one out!" Basically, Drexler calling out Harden for being such a chump and feigning injury as his fragile ego was upset from last night's benching. Drexler not buying that Harden was really injured. Harden is useless and a bad guy and Lin and the Rockets are better off without him!! I wish they never got him and they certainly don't need Harden to win!!

    5. I'd have berated Lin for serving up those two 1st quarter turnovers to Chris Paul without even asking Chris Paul to stick his hand out.

I was OK with the other turnovers, especially since the refs assisted on them.

But Lin makes mistakes too and should be held accountable. It's good for him.

    6. McHale had the right to correct Jeremy for those bad fouls in Q1 because he's the coach.

His biggest mistake is not recognizing that when he let Jeremy play PG by handling the ball, his team plays a lot of ball movement, no 'sticky' ball and with a lot of energy.

He allowed 'sticky' ball with Harden ISO ball so how can we and other players take him seriously?

It's still a big question on if he will let Harden dominate the ball when he's back.
Most of us would say 80% yes.

Hopefully a light bulb turns on in McHale's head tonight because Jeremy didn't play well offensively but he still got his teammates involved to play team-ball.

  70. Lin TOs means involving everyone. Asik is so underdeveloped as a player, only Lin is coaching him. Team ball is so much more fun.

I believe that as Lin gets to know his players and vice versa, they'll make less and less TOs. It's like I said about proprioception, the left hand needs to know what the right hand is doing to dribble the ball; while the eyes and brain is deciding how to attack. Chaos ball is so confusing to Mchale AND opponents because only Lin knows what he's about to do!
