  2. Now the rockets is great on the board.
If we get their big men in foul trouble, it's going to be a long day.
    Party time!

  3. Lin needs challenges.
Today, I just could see any to fire him up.
    Don't worry. He'll be fine.

  4. Asik is having fun.
If the game goes on like that, we could see the 2nd team soon.

      What a nice guy...

  5. Announcer got it right, Dmo plays like a 2 guard. And, that's the problem!

  6. Lin just looks sluggish tonight overall. Even on D he looks a step slow and on offense he's a bit off and also passing up on some opportunities.

Too much celebrating Harvard's win last night?

  7. Bev looks really afraid to shoot these days..

  8. Just an off-game against a bad team...and the Rockets are STILL pouring it on. Jeremy doesn't always bring the fire against scrubs because his team doesn't need him.

No biggie. Big game on Sunday! And maybe the Rockets blow the lead and he can stat pad late, heh.

    2. That would be great. Maybe Brooks and Lin can play some. That might be fun.

  9. Perhaps, we can see Brooks playing today.

  10. starters have double scoring figures this game except Jeremy. oh well, Parker will be back in the next game vs Spurs. I hope to see another game like that vs Spurs game that Harden is out and Jeremy's on fire.

  11. Oh man every Rox starter has double digit except...

    1. The point guard who's job is it to assist? 6 dimes in 20 minutes is pretty good for an off-game with Houston's terrible bigs.

    2. LOH are gonna have a blast tonight on clutch. It's been a while.

    3. LOL one focuses on positive the other focuses on negative.

    4. LOH show up even when he has a great game. Clutch fans is hilarious...I hope they never stop. It's basically Fox News for sports fans (I mean, these are TEXAS-based fans after all). Every time they start yapping, I get a big laugh.

    5. Coach Nick from Bballbreakdown did a great video a couple weeks ago. Basically, certain "all-stars" like Jrue Holiday do their damage against terrible teams and stink it up when their team need them the most...

...Jeremy is the opposite of that. He brings it when his team needs him (and he's allowed to play crunch time). He has off-games when his team doesn't need him.

    6. What if Lin works in a boring office job? He'd totally space out and make mistakes all over the place. Good thing he's in the NBA.

      Delete
    7. Yeah z.. I agree. But really LOH had nothing to talk about the last 4 games. I'm sure they have a lot bottled up. It's gonna be hilarious because the talk will be about Lin despite the blow out.

    8. The Clutch creeps and the Houston fans in general get their cue from McHell, Damnpson and Sorry.

  12. At this point, McHale should tell the guys go inside.
Get those big men in foul trouble.
That'll be the end of game.

  13. Lin is talking to Chris Rock on the bench.

  14. Lin has had his 6 assists. He can sit on the bench enjoying the game.

  17. Our 2nd team wants to stay on the court by fouling.

  18. I am guessing that's it for tonight.

  19. The Cavs were following Lin missing shots.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Please take out harden McHale..

  21. jlin can't score from the bench. I just want him to get his stats, find himself a team and coach that let's him play. It's funny to watch some of these other Houston players.. especially parsons point guard play.

  22. Wow the cavs r as bad as advertised.

  23. Hey, we need a back up for Delfino!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lin will never have consistent numbers on this team because he simply doesn't have a consistent and established role on this team. It's always Harden eats 1st and gets his own numbers and then the rest of players have to share the leftovers.

    1. Chandler Barnes Matt Parson 2nd

      Delete
    2. Some days it might be Lin scoring along with Harden, some days it might be other players with Harden.

It's not as Lin's inconsistent. It's simply his role, minutes, numbers of touches and shots that are inconsistent.

I have said many times if the Rockets want to be successful, they have to establish Lin as the No 2 option and the Wade role and be consistent with it, not sharing this role with the likes of Parsons at game by game basis.

      Delete
    3. He isn't linspired when playing against weaker opponents. It's probably a good thing to rest up and turn it on when it counts.

      Delete
    4. Lin just have to do the best he can with the time that he has. Tonight his shots just didn't go in or were block. Please don't blame the coaches for his off night.

      Delete
    5. That wasn't really the problem tonight. Lin was just missing shots. He had plenty of good looks. He ran the point a lot tonight.

      Delete
    6. It's really annoying to see people just look at stats and say Lin's inconsistent and describe how Harden scores 20+ every game and how consistent he is. Try giving Harden 20 minutes and 7 shots one game and give him 40 minutes and 20 shots next and let's see how consistent he is. I don't see Harden scoring 20+ every game while in OKC and right now Lin's treatment and role are even worse than Harden in OKC.

      Delete
    7. 1. Lin got into foul trouble early and as a result he played less minutes early on.

      2. It was an early blowout so Lin didn't come back into the game.

How can you ignore the above *if* you're going to focus on this game?

      Delete
    8. Harden got into foul trouble before as well and in every blowout game, McHale and Harden still made sure Harden got his numbers anyway.

You can just tell from the substitution pattern is not to gear up for Lin to put up numbers but it is for Harden and Parsons.

      Delete
    9. The obvious? Harden and Parsons are allowed to get their numbers in games against subpar teams.

      Delete
    10. Backup what you say otherwise I'm not buying it. If you got some stats, show them. Also, realize, that Lin has a tendency to get fouls in bunches and has fouled out more than other players... and Mchale knows this. Ignoring that reality is not objective.

I just can't relate Cara. While I don't always agree with what Mchale does, he wasn't payed to ensure that Jeremy Lin got "his stats." I see the bigger picture and I care more about this Rocket's team than just Jeremy Lin. This game was a blowout, what's to complain about?

When he is down, he seems to take the Cavs with him.

  35. As someone who is not a Jeremy Lin only fan and someone who cares about winning above all else, I think tonight's game was awesome. Lin got into some foul trouble and didn't get a lot of playing time as a result. To make matters "worse," this game was a blowout and Mchale isn't going to play Lin when the opposing team's getting an ass whooping which is a good thing because Lin should play when the game's on the line.

I'm not one to get obsessed about Lin's stats even though I really hope he continues to play strong. But you just can't look at this game too critically because it was a blowout with Lin getting fouled early. This kind of thing happens to all players of every skill.

  38. Also, and this is important, nothing will compliment Lin more than getting to the playoffs. His minutes may be inconsistent at times, but he's still the full fledged starter and he's still averaging about 32 minutes a game. He *will* get lots of credit if the Rocket's get to the playoffs. I would MUCH rather the Rocket's get to the playoffs than Lin's stats have more volume, and the Rocket's fail to get to the playoffs. You're PAYED to get W's... that's what makes you a stand out player.

    1. This game is for the 2nd team.

    2. Everyone outside of this place is pretty much saying that Harden is the main reason they're getting into the playoffs, with help from Asik (being worth his contract) and Parsons. Many still feel that Lin has underwhelmed and has not lived up to his contract. JVG, media, nba tv don't include Lin as a main piece.

      Delete
    3. k.smith, I disagree. When and if the Rocket's get to the playoffs, Lin will get a lot of credit for it. And I've been reading a lot of positive things about Lin... giving him a lot of credit for how he's picked his game up as the season has gone on.

      We shall see.

      Delete
    4. He's picked his game up from playing like shit in Nov/early Dec. I guess that's a compliment.

He'll get credit like all the other role players on this team. The majority of the media says that HOU wouldn't even sniff .500 if Harden wasn't on the team. He's the reason why they're in the playoffs.

      Hope you're right though!

      Delete
    5. I do too. Because I think Lin deserves a huge amount of credit.

    It must be a record.

  40. Wow +1 for Lin.

Did he decide to play highschool ball again?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't think there is a Jeremy highlights for this game.
Lin is getting his Assists average though.

    ReplyDelete
  42. On a positive note, Felton played 41 min and got only 7 points and less assists than Lin. So no doubt who's a better player.

    ReplyDelete
  43. An off game for JLin. His shots weren't falling early in the game, as well as early foul trouble. It's fortunate that it's against a bad team so it's still a blowout win for the Rockets. Nothing to worry about. Bad games happen from time to time. On the bright side, he gets more rest tonight and hope he's ready for the Spurs on Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's not a question of it being an "off game" for Lin. Yes this was a blowout and Lin didn't have his best game while he was in there, BUT IT'S A QUESTION OF FUCKING FAIRNESS!!! He still got yanked and benched too much in this game and if you can't see that then we're all idiots!! Yes he picked up his second foul with about 3:25 left in the first quarter, but that doesn't mean you bench him for 9 mins!! There have been times when Harden has picked up two fouls in the first quarter but he never is benched for 9 mins. Also, why was he yanked again for 1.5 mins at the end of 2Q? The Rockets announcer said so he wouldn't pick up his third foul before the half, but that's total bs!! Do you think they would have disrespected Harden like that? And then in the 3rd quarter, why was he the only starter who got yanked after playing 7 mins? He was playing decent and has 6 assists And then later it was a total blowout. If you saw Lin's reaction after being pulled in the 3rd qtr he was visibly angry and slammed his arm down against his chair. Nobody, not even the nice Lin likes getting treated like crap. You guys can rationalize all you want about his minutes being contained, but its outright visciousness on the part of McHale and his cronies!! This kind of Lin treatment has got to stop but I don't see that happening no matter how well he continues to play!!

    1. if Lin is mad, ima mad too.

      Delete
    2. IMO, tonight's game was not a good example to complain about JLin's minutes. When JLin was subbed out in the first quarter, Beverley played well and the Rockets lead was extended. The Rockets didn't play exceptionally well tonight. The Cavs just played very poorly. If the Cavs made a run like the Jazz game, I'm pretty sure JLin will get more minutes in the 4th quarter.

      Delete
    3. Btw, I'm not sure if JLin was angry at being pulled out or just disappointed at his own play. He didn't have a good offensive game, but I think he still got the most number of assists in the game.

      Delete
    4. First of all, Lin was probably visibly angry because he picked up a second foul so quickly. Secondly, Lin does have a tendency to get a lof of fouls quickly (in bunches). He's fouled out before; part of that may be because he plays such hard defense, true. But how often have you seen other Rocket player's get fouled out? You can see it however you want to see it. And I don't always agree with Mchale. However, bias can go in many directions.

      Delete
    5. It hurts so much to see Jeremy got mad when he was subbed out. The problem now is that fans are getting okay with coaches going with the "hot hands". Starters shouldn't be treated this way. Hayward played 34mins despite having an off night going 2/10 in the lost to Spurs tonight...

      Delete
    6. lose to Spurs tonight

      Delete
    7. Also, here is some more obvious: That second foul was questionable if I remember correctly. He may not have thought it was a foul at all. That usually upsets players.

      Delete
    8. Sesshie is right . Lin dd not got any call from both end of the court he deserved tonight . It is almost time for the playoff , this is the only time allow the new and young player have the chance to try to be got ready for the playoff time . Actually ,for this type of coaching , I did not think they really know what the plan is about , it is a kind of waste of time ,,Rocket really going to a very big problem to pass the first round no matter whom they will face .

      Delete
  45. Lastly, you do realize that when Mchale takes Lin out for fouls it's because he wants to ensure that he's available later in the game when the game is on the line, right? I mean, you can't ignore that. As it turned out, it was a blowout so Lin didn't play later in the game.

I'm done with trying to point out the obvious.

    1. Uh, duh.

You really need to stop lumping lin fans together. Yes, there are diehard, Lin can do no wrong fans but the majority actually know basketball and don't treat Lin like a God.

    2. Hmmm... It seems to me that people will know whether or not this comment is relevant to them. And contrary to what you said, many in the above thread from their comments have demonstrated otherwise. That's not lumping fans together; it's just opting not to remain silent.
