We're back for Friday's night game with Cleveland Cavalier. The race in the West is tight with the Lakers sitting a game behind the Rockets. The Rockets are in 7th and the Lakers are in 8th place. The Rockets need to throttle the Cavaliers since they are at home. They should not let up on this team with or without Kyrie playing tonight. Go Rockets.
The rockets are in a tough schedule after this so they better start with a win. But the last trade got the rockets in big trouble. They lost TD, Patterson and Coledrich which are helping the Kings with their fire powers to down the Clippers and Timberwolves. The last two games, the ex-rockets won it for the Kings. The rockets has been dropping in team scoring. Let's hope DMo and Robinson play well today.
yay! Rockets vs Cavaliers. positive this will be another Rockets blowout vs Cavs. imho, Lebron and the Heat just made the game exciting their last match up and let the Cavs take the lead, then crawl up to snatch the win.
No, the foul call was not totally unreasonable. What happened was Livingston faked out Lin, and Lin took a step into Livingston and bumped him. It was not phantom call, although the ref could have ignored it.
Rockets look very good on offense and defense, except for that last minute.
No complaints about Jeremy, except for that careless turnover where he got inbounds pass and tried to flip it over his shoulder (no look) and it got picked off.
I think they will eventually pull away from Cavaliers.
Hopefully Rockets have put game away by end of third quarter and all starters rest.
Tony Parker is back in Spurs lineup, so Lin will have his hands full on Sunday.
T-Rob looking good tonight. His only mistake was that charge he picked up earlier but seems to be around the ball and grabbing rebounds. Just got the AND 1 on a pass from Beverly.
Rockets will need Lin and Harden to step up big time on Sunday against Spurs.
Tony Parker is back, so hopefully Lin elevates his game, without getting overamped and overaggressive and get into foul trouble so he can't be aggressive in fourth quarter (Lin getting four fouls early in second half of Phoenix loss took away his aggressiveness on offense and defense and allowed Dragic to go off on him in fourth).
Playing 30min tonight isn't going to prevent Lin from being ready for Parker on Sunday. We're not talking a back to back here. If it does, then Lin is the weakest basketball player I know.
Come on Lin, if you want to be an All-star you have to bring your "A" game every night. Lin sometimes looks lackadaisical; I think he celebrated Harvard's win too much.
At the time, Lin was playing badly, so I don't blame Livingston for thinking he was better than Lin. A lot of people thought Livingston should be backing up Lin, not Douglas. I think the reason for letting Livingston go was due to money issue.
Livingston, if he was not horrifically injured, would probably be a star in NBA right now. Livingston still has some of the moves and athleticism. You saw him block Lin from behind, not many can do that.
Agree w/ eb5. I like Livingston's game alot since his clipper days. I am amazed by his speed but often wondered why he's so under rated even before the injury.
"Sources said reserve guard Shaun Livingston often outplayed Lin in October. Sensing Livingston might get waived at the end of camp due to financial concerns, several Rockets players and coaches pleaded with management to keep him. A point guard controversy could've arrived if Livingston stuck around, but he was waived Oct. 29."
All his teammates disrespected Lin as well. Well Livingston can go enjoy his place backing up kyrie. There is a reason he got waived... Freaking scrub.
Solidz75, you are being very unfair to a decent player. I just don't like your attitude. Also, there is no evidence that Livingston bad mouthed Lin at all. It was other Rockets' players who supported Livingston. What is it about you always wanting to cut down other players. If Livingston played one on one with Lin, I dare say Livingston might win a majority of them.
What is it with you loving Livingston. He is a nobody. That is my opinion. U act like I'm bad mouthing your family or something. I'm being unfair . Yeah whatever.
I don't see anywhere that Livingston bad mouthed Lin, but it seems some other Rocket players pleaded with the management to keep Livingston. See below. Livingston does not appear to me to bad mouth anyone, although he seems as if he has a lot of his pride in his game, and I think he's a good player.
"Living up to the Linsanity hype and recovering from knee surgery got to Lin early in Rockets training camp, sources close to the team said. The late addition of James Harden didn't ease things either. Sources said reserve guard Shaun Livingston often outplayed Lin in October. Sensing Livingston might get waived at the end of camp due to financial concerns, several Rockets players and coaches pleaded with management to keep him. A point guard controversy could've arrived if Livingston stuck around, but he was waived Oct. 29. "

ReplyDeleteNo Kyrie Irving tonight.
DeleteOmer!
ReplyDeleteLin with his first assist to Asik who scored on the reverse layup.
ReplyDeleteThe rockets are in a tough schedule after this so they better start with a win.
ReplyDeleteBut the last trade got the rockets in big trouble. They lost TD, Patterson and Coledrich which are helping the Kings with their fire powers to down the Clippers and Timberwolves.
The last two games, the ex-rockets won it for the Kings.

No hesitation 3. Good shot by Lin but just didn't fall.
ReplyDeleteLin two and one!
ReplyDeleteLin with a strong drive to the hoop for the bucket and an AND 1.
ReplyDeleteSuperstar call but I'm glad he's getting them at home.
Deleteyay! Rockets vs Cavaliers. positive this will be another Rockets blowout vs Cavs. imho, Lebron and the Heat just made the game exciting their last match up and let the Cavs take the lead, then crawl up to snatch the win.
ReplyDeletego Rockets. go Jeremy.
JLin with no look to Asik for two!
ReplyDeleteLin with some patience and then passing it to a wide open Asik running the floor for his 2nd assist.
ReplyDeleteLin is not feeling it from three point land. He is 0 for 2 so far.
ReplyDeleteLin running the floor and pick up his third assist on a pass to Parson for the layup and the AND 1.
ReplyDeleteDMO has problem shooting free throws since the last game.
ReplyDeleteIt's better to start TRob and let him win the starting role from the bench.
Sure happy that Parson pick up his game early.
ReplyDeleteLin to D-Mo for the three.
ReplyDeleteCP receives pass from JLin and scores -> two and one!
ReplyDeleteDMO 3!
The 3 pointers are not falling today for the Rox.
ReplyDeleteNow it's up to Asik and Lin
The beard makes a 3 pt shot!
ReplyDeleteBeardy throws great pass to DMO for 2
ReplyDeleteDMO finally gets his 3 pointers. Cheers
ReplyDeleteHarden with a nice pass to D0Mo for the slam.
ReplyDeleteGuys - boxscore says Lin has 4 assists. Shouldnt it be 5 assists?
ReplyDeleteThe Rox either 3 pointers or score from the paints. efficient shots.
ReplyDeleteLin's shots are a little off.
ReplyDeleteDMO is proving that I was wrong about him on the court
ReplyDeleteSure hope so.
Lin needs to play HORSE before every game.
ReplyDeleteWhats that?
DeleteIt's the therapeutic game he played with his brother before the Utah game that got his shots going.
DeleteLin picked up his 2nd foul. S. Livingston drew it on him on a tick tacky call.
ReplyDelete2 fouls on Lin; he is going to be benched soon.
ReplyDeleteHe had his 8:35 so...
DeleteCavs have a ton of young guys with something to prove. They're going hard and Rockets better match the effor. Ugly turnover on the inbounds.
ReplyDeleteBench time,it remind me the Miami game during insanity.
ReplyDelete4 assist in the first quarter; it's awesome.
ReplyDeleteJust hope that Lin gets his shots back in the 2nd
Lin up too late watching that Harvard game. He looks subpar. That last to was sloppy.
ReplyDeleteYes, he looks somewhat lackadaisical. He better be careful because the opponents are trying to trap him and play tough D on him.
DeleteGood point Solidz. Lin looks totally out of it, especially taking that last pass off this face.
DeleteThat was ugly!
ReplyDeleteThat was a phantom foul called on Lin. Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteHe missed some shots and is passing up open looks now. Just shoot it without conscience man.
No, the foul call was not totally unreasonable. What happened was Livingston faked out Lin, and Lin took a step into Livingston and bumped him. It was not phantom call, although the ref could have ignored it.
DeleteLin is going to be sitting a while ...
ReplyDeleteRox just can't lose to these scrubs..
ReplyDeleteRockets look very good on offense and defense, except for that last minute.
DeleteNo complaints about Jeremy, except for that careless turnover where he got inbounds pass and tried to flip it over his shoulder (no look) and it got picked off.
I think they will eventually pull away from Cavaliers.
Hopefully Rockets have put game away by end of third quarter and all starters rest.
Tony Parker is back in Spurs lineup, so Lin will have his hands full on Sunday.
I didn't like the one play when he picked up the dribble too early and almost turned it over. He just seems off today.
DeleteDidn't see that play.
DeleteLin looks like he hasn't found his range yet (missed threes and free throw).
But looks like he is missing long, not randomly left or right, so hopefully that corrects itself with a few more shot attempts.
On that full court drive and layup that Lin missed,I thought he jumped too early. He could taken it all the way instead of shooting a runner.
ReplyDeleteWe can't afford to have two guards in foul trouble!
ReplyDeleteNow easy man!
Flop?
ReplyDeleteAs long as Smith is inside.
ReplyDeleteFire the 3s
I like this Trob and GS combo. A very different look. Changes the complexion. Allows for a lot of open looks at the perimeter and offensive rebounds.
ReplyDeleteGood job by the second unit this far.
ReplyDeleteJeremy Lin got hit in the head with the ball sitting on the bench. Hahahaha. He is a magnet for getting hit.
ReplyDeleteThe ball finds him. They are good buddies.
DeleteI blame CP for that. He moved out of the way and exposed Lin to the ball :)
DeleteI gotta say Bev is a good rebounder for a PG.
ReplyDeleteThere was some stat explaining he's one of the best/better offensive rebounding pg?
DeleteJeremy used to be great rebounder but it disappeared under McHale. He doesn't even try anymore.
DeleteI watched Bev long enough to realize that Bev does have a knack for being around the ball.
DeleteRox is owning the board
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!! sorry Jeremy that made me laugh.... they just passed you the ball..
ReplyDelete..even if you're on the bench
DeleteHis usage on the bench is higher than on the court.
DeleteRockets play by play man on Luke Walton: "One of the few guys who actually study." (Ouch..racist remark or honest mistake?)
ReplyDeleteI don't find anything wrong with it. Walton isn't exactly bursting with athleticism. Just saying he plays smart.
DeleteRox missing a lot of layups tonight...
ReplyDeleteAwesome finish by Trob on fast break!
ReplyDeleteT-Rob looking good tonight. His only mistake was that charge he picked up earlier but seems to be around the ball and grabbing rebounds. Just got the AND 1 on a pass from Beverly.
ReplyDeleteI thought that charge was a flop by the defender. Trob does have big shoulders though.
DeleteOur 2nd team is sure having fun!
ReplyDeletePretty good athleticism there (TRob, Bevereley, and Smith).
DeleteLOL they bring a lot of energy.
DeleteWow our second unit getting extended minutes tonite.
ReplyDeleteAgainst a shitty team, I think it's okay...except that Parsons continues to get the love like he has been all season.
DeleteWell Parsons had 2 quiet games before so he needs to get his stats back.
DeleteHave you guys noticed that whenever Parsons got a lot shots, Lin rarely played well?
Why didn't they send Brooks in?
ReplyDeleteBev's playing good D
DeleteWith the trades, seems like there might be an issue about whose is starter, who is backup, and who is third string.
DeleteInitially, I thought Beverley might be eyeing Lin's starting spot, and DMo and TRob probably fighting for that power forward spot.
McHale commented about how Shaun Livingston was great team player and was fine coming off bench if Kyrie Irving is healthy.
So, I suspect Aaron Brooks is definitely behind Beverely for team unity purposes.
Announcer called that a travel on Trob? I thought that was a good penetration.
ReplyDeleteHe shuffled..
DeleteNow it's good substitution.!
ReplyDeleteWill Lin break 30 minutes of PT tonight?
ReplyDeleteIt's his fault for getting in foul trouble. Any reason McHale has to sit Lin, he will use it.
DeleteProbably doesn't need to.
DeleteAs long as we win tonight, who cares.
DeleteRockets will need Lin and Harden to step up big time on Sunday against Spurs.
No, as long as they're winning I'm cool with it but for stats purposes, I'd like to see a 14/7 night from Lin.
DeletePlaying 30min tonight isn't going to prevent Lin from being ready for Parker on Sunday. We're not talking a back to back here. If it does, then Lin is the weakest basketball player I know.
DeleteI guess inside game all day.
ReplyDeleteGo Rox
Just hope to see Brooks soon.
Brent Yen!! nice.. your Tweet got read by Ho Chen on live tv!
ReplyDeleteAlrightv Lin, lets get this lead to 20
ReplyDeleteDMO pick up a foul as soon as he check in
ReplyDeleteJust hope he won't check out.
Okay the 2nd unit is "hot" but McHale still put in Harden but not Lin.
ReplyDeleteIf McHale can, I bet he wants to play Beverley for 48 straight minutes.
U can't call backcourt on that!
ReplyDeletethat was a silly call
DeleteReplay clearly shows Lin was over when he received the ball. Bad call on the refs.
DeleteIt's like calling carry..
DeleteAt least CP was looking to get Lin the ball. :)
DeleteI blame the logo for blurring the line division between front court and back court
Delete@redking:
Deletelol
uhm, his foot was almost inside the Rox front court...
ReplyDeleteLol the TO count on Lin.
ReplyDeleteSorry DMo, you're going to check out.
ReplyDeleteLin getting close to getting his 3rd foul
ReplyDeleteThey are finally calling those jump stops.
ReplyDeleteLin looking not to shoot.. No good jer
ReplyDeleteCheers! the old pat 3s are falling
ReplyDeleteWow I didn't know Livingston could do that. Turnaround jumper over Lin.
ReplyDeleteLin with 4 points now on a J on the left side.
ReplyDeleteThere u go Jeremy just shoot it!!
ReplyDeletePretend you have HOR!
DeleteYes, that's the shot Lin can and should take more often.
DeleteHopefully this shot will get him going.. He has no reason not to shoot..
DeleteBecause opponents know Lin can drive in or dish out, that short jumper should be one of his bread and butter shots.
DeleteAgree! Lin definitely should take stop and go open shots.
DeleteOh yes. Lin gets his shot finally
ReplyDeleteLivingston looks taller !
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine their starting Center gets no Rebound up to now.
ReplyDeleteMcHale protecting Lin from 3rd foul.
ReplyDeleteLin doesn't look good tonight, seem like no energy and dreaming.
ReplyDeleteYeah - somethings wrong.
DeleteCome on Lin, if you want to be an All-star you have to bring your "A" game every night. Lin sometimes looks lackadaisical; I think he celebrated Harvard's win too much.
DeleteMaybe it has something to do with his pre-game nap!? I find it rather risky.
DeleteI do make power-naps during the day and it works fine most of the time. But sometimes I wake up and I feel more tired :(
Hmmm nachos....
ReplyDeletenacho nacho man
DeleteTht was a blocking foul. Inside the circle!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone knows that, except refs.
DeleteI mean this rule can't be easier to enforce. WTH?
DeleteRefs are making some bull crap calls tonight.
ReplyDeleteLooks like he is having problem against Livingston.
ReplyDeleteHe's crazy quick and hard to guard if his shots are falling.
DeleteLivingston is a very crafty and smooth player. Lin cannot out-think Livingston.
DeletePlus he can't be as aggressive with 2 fouls. Livingston obviously playing like he has something to prove.
DeleteIt's Livingston people. You guys make it seem like Lin isn't smart enough to adjust or isn't capable of guarding him.
DeleteI don't get what the announcer is saying about asik's offensive charge inside the circle...
ReplyDeleteThe Rox are hard to beat when del3no is on
ReplyDeleteWithout w/o his old buddy Kyrie Irving. Lin is mighty disappointed.
ReplyDeleteShaun Livingston bad mouthed Jeremy before he's traded to Cav...he's very determined to outplay Jeremy tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhat did this scrub say?
DeleteHe's better than Jeremy and he should stay with the Rox. He lobbied some players to get the FO to keep him.
DeleteBy the way, I don't consider Livingston a scrub. He's a pretty good player.
DeleteLin sure needs something to fire'em up.
DeleteDo u have a link? Didn't hear anything when he was let go. Then again he's a nobody on a crappy loser team.
DeleteAt the time, Lin was playing badly, so I don't blame Livingston for thinking he was better than Lin. A lot of people thought Livingston should be backing up Lin, not Douglas. I think the reason for letting Livingston go was due to money issue.

DeleteI never read anywhere that Livingston bad mouthed Lin, so I would like to see the link also.
DeleteWhat is it with u and Livingston? No offense but he is an afterthought in this league. Lets not make him into kyrie,.
DeleteAgree w/ eb5. I like Livingston's game alot since his clipper days. I am amazed by his speed but often wondered why he's so under rated even before the injury.
DeleteS.Livingston was waived, not traded. my bad.

Another "statistic" of Morey's statistical analysis? Not a good spot up shooter.. bla bla
DeleteThere is another article on Clutchfan but I don't want to go there to search for it. That one sounded much worse than the one above.
DeleteAll his teammates disrespected Lin as well. Well Livingston can go enjoy his place backing up kyrie. There is a reason he got waived... Freaking scrub.

DeleteRockets looked like they let up and became a bit too casual and a bit sloppy in second quarter after they established comfortable lead.
ReplyDeleteThey looked really crisp on offense and defense to start game.
Wish they could maintain that type of focus till game is truly determined because good teams will make them pay (lose comfortable lead).
Looks like I'm gonna be pissed watching this game, so I'll just stick to ESPN play by play.
ReplyDeleteY?
DeleteJeremy will come back strong in 2nd half!
DeleteDon't worry. Lin'll come back fine.
DeleteLin is not playing bad.. He just missed some shots. U kidding me?
DeleteThe Rox out-rebounds Cavs 21:11!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!
I don't see anywhere that Livingston bad mouthed Lin, but it seems some other Rocket players pleaded with the management to keep Livingston. See below. Was that Lin who just pulled Livinston up off the ground? = D
DeleteWow Asik with a fakey!
ReplyDeleteLivingston was criticized for being an inefficient player up until his injury. Glad to see him in a back up role. Lets not overrate the guy.
ReplyDeleteLin with nice pass to CP -> risky but nice!
ReplyDeleteLin with two more assists.
ReplyDeleteDMO threw a bullet to Harden from 3 feet away :) TURNOVER :)
ReplyDeleteAsik -> nice moves :)
ReplyDeleteYou mean that sorry excuse of a lay up? = P
Delete;) no he faked and then he made a hook shot - I think :)
DeleteOmer is a beast on the boards in the 3rd quarter.
ReplyDeleteguys 2nd half thread up...
ReplyDeleteI thought Trob is having a decent game until I see his 3TOs in the box score.
ReplyDelete
