Rockets vs Warriors Game #50 1st Half Game Thread

This is JLin's first game against his hometown Warriors since Linsanity. I'm expecting an inspired game not just tonight but anytime he is going up against Golden State. It should be a great matchup against his bud, Steph Curry. Also, it will be fun to see him playing against one of his first true supporters, in DLee.

  1. I have Jlin and Dlee on my fantasy team! Lets go guys! Have a great game!

  2. I expect big things when he returns to Oracle Arena. But I'm not sure how his game will turn out with the sore ankle and all.

    ReplyDelete
  3. May this be the night of bball for jlin fans minus the frustration and disappointment.at least for tonight, hope we all enjoy a great display of bball talent and skill from lin without the outside factors that will stop him from showing what he is capable of, that is playing beyond linsanity.

  4. lol, rewarding patterson right off the bat

jk, they just want to wear out d. lee on defense...so he doesn't get offensive boards like he just did

    ReplyDelete
  5. that was a sweet j, harden off screen

    ReplyDelete
  6. jeremy bricks wide open mid range j

    ReplyDelete
  7. sweet ball fake to freeze curry, who admittedly is not a defender. made difficult layup jeremy

    ReplyDelete
  8. back on offense, passes up open 3...dribble penetration to ft line..stops and passes off to harden and he gets fouled

    ReplyDelete
  9. curry, screened jlin hard, and bricks

    ReplyDelete
  10. jlin passes off the possession to harden, who creates to get a chandler 3

    ReplyDelete
  11. jlin runs around the baseline and passes to a contested 3 airballed by patterson. oh well

    ReplyDelete
  12. jeremy is going to need a breather for all the pnr screens he is running into defending curry

    ReplyDelete
  13. jeremy to as harden was bumped. one handed passes got played even if no call

    ReplyDelete
  14. owns up to mistake, jlin creates a beautiful pass for no alleyoop to osik. but at least he makes up for his lack of vertical and dunks it

    ReplyDelete
  15. d. lee gets to conserve all his energy for offense defending patterson, who the coaches never went to again after the very first possession

    ReplyDelete
  16. patterson with the hustle as warriors no box out. energy lets them have 3 off offensive rebound.

    ReplyDelete
  17. harden creates, jlin hesistates, but sinks the open 3!

    ReplyDelete
  18. jlin goes pnr, and shoots fadeaway after dribbling in the paint for eons. good decision, bad result. i applaud looking for his own shot there. just gotta practice that in the paint fade!

    ReplyDelete
  19. That's my boy J.Lin!! Yeah!! This is going to be a game.. I just hope their stupid coach doesn't mess things up :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. LIn not being substituted this time at the 5 minute mark. He has 7 points and 2 assists.

    ReplyDelete
  21. McHale messing with rotation line up again. James Anderson in with TD and Greg Smith. Lin to the bench with Harden for a rest.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The arena looks half empty, or i'd say half full. Where are the rockets fans? If only i live in houston, i sure will be in one of those seats. The rockets- brooklyn game is sold out since few weeks ago. Im sure many of those that will come are jlin fans.houston, you gotta show liove n support a little bit more.

    1. They give such a great package deal for family too. $79 for family package with food. You can't beat that. You can't even find a $79 seat at The Garden.

      Delete
    2. I don't want to discriminate... but Houston isn't really like New York where the fans are die hard crazy ass supporters. Basketball in Houston is more of like a family day wherein you watch a game after going to Church on a sunday.

  23. Curry 0 for 2. Now, with Lin out...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, Stephen Curry is still in there while Lin is on the bench resting.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ppat and LIn back in with Anderson, TD and Marcus Morris.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jeremy back in 1st quarter.. cause Golden State was whoopin Rockets a$$

    ReplyDelete

    1. Good to see coaching being rational.

      Delete
  27. Parsons with a 3pt airball with 1:24 left in Q1. Mchale better play Parsons even more so Parsons can lead the team.

WOW as I type Lin back in end of Q1? ANd with PPAT? More confusing Mchale substitutions.

On a final note, the Rox color tv team must have been lectured about Michael Kidd Gilcrest and dissing Lin. They were just gushing nice things about Lin so far today and not going off topic much...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Rox 6-for-9 from 3, out-currying Steph Curry.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Lin is in because Harden was out with the 2 fouls and the lead was shrinking. That's a positive sign from McHale, even if a little one.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Houston still pleading with fans to get the CSN deal done after like several months already. Lin has no pull in Houston because he alone was responsible for the Time Warner deal during Linsanity in NY.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've also wondered why Anderson hasn't played till now. He looks like a serviceable Harden backup for 8-15 min a game.

Mchale feels his PG's are utter garbage playing Beverly those few games over TD with no practice to speak of, but Anderson can't even get off the bench till now to play 5-10 min to spell Harden...

    Lucky for him Delfino hurt

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anderson looks better than Harden in that the offense is flowing right now which usually isn't the case when Harden is playing.

      Delete
    2. I know EXACTLY what you mean...Anderson swung the ball out to Lin on a cut not forcing as Harden would leading to a swing leading to Morris bank shot...not that Harden stinks or anything, he's great, but those type of plays keeps the offense in tact and teammates engaged..

  32. How is Jlin doing since being reinserted in at the 2nd half?
    His boxscore has not moved.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He just shot a 3 pointer. He has 10 points now with 3 assists.

      Delete
  33. Curry is still in after playing all of 1st quarter and 2 minutes into the 2nd quarter already. Mark Jackson really has trust in his PG>

    ReplyDelete
  34. So far so good bball.not much complaining here abt coaching.what do you think guys?Is this the sign we all are waiting and praying for? Maybe the great awakening of mchale.....

  36. Wow. Im just reading that Yao is in Houston!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Uh Oh, time to insert James Harden. Lin has the same amount of points that Harden has. On another note, Curry is still in at PG for GSW. If only Lin was able to play that amount as well.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lin is back on the bench with 8:36 in the 2nd quarter. Curry is still in for GSW.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's a trend when the Rockets have the lead for McHale to sit Lin. It happened twice already.

      Delete
    2. Yes, I guessed it. Lin was approaching Harden's number and sure thing, Lin is sitting and Harden is in now.

      Delete
  39. People gush about Harden/Lin back court. This Lin/Anderson back court is owning GSW.

I thought GSW was going to run away with the game from the get go.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I truly dislike Mark Jackson. I think he is super corny. He might actually be a good coach though. But guy is corny and a hypocrite (go read about his secret affair he tried to hide). I hope Lin smashes GSW everytime as I feel Mark Jackson had a hand in cutting Lin even though he pretends he had NOTHING to do with it.

I remember some article where Jackson walked out of Starbucks last year where some barrista mentioned Linsanity to him and said Linsanity was more exciting than Nate Robinson.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I just googled that and can't tell who said what. The conversation is hard to follow:

    2. I think the story goes that Mark Jackson asked the Starbucks employee out in San Fran/Oakland who he'd rather have, Lin or Nate Robinson. And the employee kinda looked uncomfortable and answered without answering, and Mark Jackson walked out of there without buying the drink he went in for. What a joke...

  41. What? Why is Lin being substituted with less than 4 min? I've been quiet on the board and I thought there has been some over-reaction regarding McFail, but this is ridiculous. Lin is hot! Keep him in!

    ReplyDelete
  42. There was no pregame post so I couldnt put my predictions. But Jeremy will have a pretty good game and he will start being more consitant in second half of the season I put some numbers in another post but 14-18 ppg 7-9 assist over 40% shooting. Couple reb and couple steals too. Excited!

    ReplyDelete
  43. LOL Lin on the bench. We can only laugh at this point. It truly is COMICAL

    ReplyDelete
  44. Jeremy playing great despite sore ankle...McHale's odd substitution pattern is still a concern.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Speaking of which, Lin is in after 2 minutes of rest with the rest of the starters for Houston.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. comical subbing pattern...seriously

Mchale: let's bench Lin, he sucks and Harden doesn't touch the ball enough.

      Sampson: exactly my thoughts

Finch: but guys, Morey said that Les said that we have to play Lin more now or else.

      Mchale: did someone say something?

      Sampson: no

Bickerstaff: hey guys, Morey says we gotta play Lin because Les is getting pissed remember? He flat out told us Calvin Murphy is SPEAKING for Les on TV.

Mchale: dammit...I'll put that freakin scrub back in. This is my last real shot at coaching in the NBA.

Sampson: don't do please...I want your job...

      Mchale: what?

      Sampson: nothing, put Lin in...

      Delete
    2. Swingline is channeling Sampson and McHale.

      Delete
    3. Morey is gonna tweet about it.

      Delete
  46. So the secret to Houston getting more 3s is benching Delfino. Who knew.

    ReplyDelete
  47. On a happy note, Lin with 10 points, 2 for 2 from 3 point land and 5 assists and only 1 TO so far.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Curry with 2 points, 6 assists, 1 TO and 2 PF.

Seriously do you really want me to cut you bitch

      Delete
  54. How does Harden only have 1 TO so far??? He has at least 3...

    ReplyDelete
  55. So far, McHale's substitution pattern is still kind of weird, but he is sure inserting Lin into the line up though. Maybe he wants Lin to get revenge against the team which cut him first.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No Mchale is just getting directives from the Rox FO, short of flat out telling him he must play Lin OR ELSE. He is just obliging.

When Lin plays big minutes against the Spurs, Miamis, OKC, etc top 5-8 elite teams and they rely on him in close games against those teams, then I'll believe things have changed.

The GSW is not an elite team any more so than the Rox are. I am not surprised the Rox are torching them right now but it might not last and at home, GSW is much better.

      Delete
  56. Asik making freethrows. Everything is going Rox's way.

Warriors league's best 3-pt shooting tm, but have taken just 6. Hou overplaying, but GS hitting them with cuts, passing, shooting 62.5 %.

  61. Hey gus - what do you think of Hardens D today?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. its still sucks... its a lot of show for about 3 seconds followed by a giant reach. we need a GIF of that reach. he is the reach monster...
if I'm the opposing coach, I attack Harden all the time.
His help D remains no existent, his transition D worse than that...

      Delete
    2. If you attack Harden all the time, you might get poke in the eye with his beard. That's why people fear the beard.

      Delete
    3. I think he is working harder on his D. He did help on d and was even flying in to challenge a 3 point shot. Yeah - he is still no good but I see improvement.

      Delete
    4. i agree. he's definitely seems to be trying in some spots.

      Delete
  62. Does Mark Jackson even going to rest Stepehen Curry this game. He has been in for the entire 1st and now is on his way to finishing the 2nd quarter. He is booking 21 minutes now.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Jonathan Feigen ‏@Jonathan_Feigen
Rockets' 7 3-pointers in the second quarter are their most this season since the first quarter.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Lin shutting down Curry. What's their salary differential? Like $10m per year?

  67. "Curry can't get into the game tonight; they're really defending him effectively" ..... Not "they", dipshits, "LIN".

    ReplyDelete
  68. Impressive numbers from jeremy this early. As long as he gets the Minutes and plays PG tonight, rockets have a big chance of beating the warriors.I want to stay positive and hope mchale keeps his sanity as jeremy shows some linsanity tonight or even bigger game than linsanity.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wow CUrry looks pissed nice shot lol :D

    3. Guys, stop....you're making me nervous now.i still wanna see jeremy play in 3rd and 4th Q's.im sure if he gets benched, the complaints will be pouring in again and we will all have a sleepless night , that is if none us suffers from heart attack while watching lin on the sideline.

  75. I am surprised Anderson has a -2.

    ReplyDelete
  76. And, I didn't see anyone hammer Lin.

    ReplyDelete
  77. My question for the 2nd half is Mark Jackson really going to play Stephen Curry for 4 quarters? He would be booking close to 48 minutes then. He is trying to ride Curry like how D'Antoini rode Lin like Secretarat.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He's playing Curry like McHale plays Harden.

  80. Very good game by Lin!; as for the subs, (thus far) I'm not too worried, since he is being inserted; meantime, probably Mchale wants to use the bench more, as you can see the minutes. JL has more mins compared to JH and the rest of the bench is having good minutes and score as well.

    Go Lin!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Lin had more mins because Harden had 2 early fouls. I am not complaining though. Also James Anderson filled in well. I would like to see Lin pair with Anderson more and when Lin rests, Harden plays with Douglas.

      Delete
    2. Anderson played well. Hope to see him play more in future.

  81. Instead of trying to trade for a PF, the Rockets management should just shop for a new Head Coach, as well as a new assistant coach, Sampson is a scrub.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Lin has 18 points, 4 for 5 behind the 3 point line and 6 assists.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Really good game for Lin. I want him to get a double-double.
