Nick Ivanovic @RocketsRedux D-Wade leads the #Heat offense with 17 pts (6-9 FG) and 3 assists. #Heat are up 59-56, late Q2.
The heat have the right personnel to stymie Lin. Chalmers and Cole are very good on ball defenders that apply pressure defensively. And I've always felt Jeremy's handle was just average for a PG and t gets exposed against a team like the Heat.
On that last play, Cole forced him left but he didn't take the open lane until it was too late and the help was able to come.
Miami is keying on Lin, just like last year, and there's been very few transition opportunities where Lin can do his thing. Miami has kept it a half court game, and I think this is where the youth of the Rockets are showing. You need to move without the ball and keep the ball moving and not let the miami heat defense get set. But, guys are just standing around, not quite knowing what to do against this type of defense.
Howard Chen @ho_chenCSN LeBron was 7-9 for 17pts in the first half. So in his last three halves, LeBron has hit 20 of 23 field goals. #kindasortaimpressive #Heat

I really hope rockets win even by a sinlge point.Lord, pls give this one to rockets
Chris Donalson @ChrisDonalson Rockets looking good against the Heat. They're holding their own, but still a bit stagnant on O. Lots of Heat "contact" being let go
Hiren Joshi @htown747 A lot of chatter on the Heat broadcast about LeBron doing the dunk contest... would love to see that but it just isn't happening.
Lin has to pass the ball quicker since he shouldn't be surprised that a double team is coming his way. Once they have him trapped a turnover always seems to happen. I hate the Heat announcers!!
It's expected that heat announcers would be biased in favor of their team. What is unxplainble is rockets announcers being biased against jeremy. That is a hateful situation everytime you listen to them
Lin looked tentative. Time to create his own shots and score, esp when there is only one defender on him, instead of dribbling around and trying to set teammates up. I would rather see Lin being assertive and aggressive on offense, regardless of the outcome. Time to establish himself against the Heat.
The last possession of the half, Wade knew Lin was not going to take the shot, trapped and then stole the ball from Lin.
Lin really needs a good game against the Heat cause this is the team that tramped on Linsanity. But he can only do this with the help of the coach (and the other players of course) but the irregular subbing pattern is undoing whatever momentum is building up. Hope to see more of Lin in the 2nd half
Ira Winderman @IraHeatBeat You get the impression the sooner Jeremy Lin gets out of South Florida, the better. He's probably glad he signed in the Western Conference.

Jason Friedman @JasonCFriedman Rockets rallied back (before eventually falling 113-110) from 17 last time played Heat. Now tasked with same thing after Heat go up 77-60.
It seems like the Miami Heat is stuck in a time warp when Linsanity is still all the rage last February. Do they usually apply so much pressure to the PG position or is it just becuz it's JLin? I don't mind the Rockets losing this game, but I don't want it to be a blowout. Another learning experience for JLin and the Rockets no matter win or lose.
Howard Chen @ho_chenCSN Likin the hustle by the Rockets. They haven't given up yet. Helps to key some momentum after that Lin 3. #neversaydie #RedNation
Tim Reynolds @ByTimReynolds LeBron with back to back 3s, Heat lead by 15, LeBron only shooting 9 for 12 tonight. "Diminishing skills," will say the nameless 10am show.
Houston Rockets @HoustonRockets Rockets not gonna go away quietly. @JLin7 gets it going and some hustle has Rockets back w/in 12 mid Q3 despite some ridiculous shots by LBJ
Matt Miller @MattMiller713 Lin gets the Rockets a little closer w/ a 3 and a good push up the floor that led to a Harden put-back. Heat's lead is still double digits
Matt Miller @MattMiller713 Miami is 8-for-15 from long distance tonight, although most of that has been either LeBron drilling a tough shot or Battier getting open.
Jason Friedman @JasonCFriedman Rockets' offense very capable of rallying in a hurry. That's what they've done here, slicing 17-point deficit to 7, still 3:06 left in 3Q.
Poor Man's Commish @poormanscommish I remember when I visited Jeremy Lin at Harvard, he was in awe of a particular Dwyane Wade dunk that week. Just sayin'. #southbeachwoes

YES 3!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like the Miami Heat is stuck in a time warp when Linsanity is still all the rage last February. Do they usually apply so much pressure to the PG position or is it just becuz it's JLin? I don't mind the Rockets losing this game, but I don't want it to be a blowout. Another learning experience for JLin and the Rockets no matter win or lose.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's working.
