TO Heat. 3-balls starting to fall as Rockets now 3-5 from downtown. @MookMorris2 was the latest culprit giving Rox 41-38 lead early in Q2.

  10. I guess Lin only gets to play when he plays against one of his former teams...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Haha, Lin only gets to play if Douglas screws up or when the team is down. Since the score is up now and Douglas is doing okay...

Lin is like a fireman, only appears when there is a fire.

  11. Which Rockets showed up tonight, the Suns or the iso version?

    1. I'd say the Suns but Heat defense is forcing the ball out of Lin's hands.

  12. I can understand Jeremy's extended benching this time.

Second game of a back-to-back (and Jeremy missing some shots). Meanwhile, the Heat look very confused against the Rockets' 2nd unit. They clearly prepared for Lin, Harden and no one else.

And now Lin coming back in. Good.

More stunning: Rox winning by 45 in SLC? Rox hitting 23 3s in game? Or LeBron getting called for (shaky) offensive foul on alley-oop at MIA?

  23. I hate it when Lebron decided to turn it up early in the game. I mean there are games when he's not even trying to score in the first half and now he's doing everything.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Despite that awful TO to end the half, Jeremy's defense has been outstanding and his playmaking was great in the first quarter.

He needs to be more aggressive with his jumper. The PnR ain't gonna work against the Heat.

  53. Jonathan Feigen ‏@Jonathan_Feigen
Heat 63, Rockets 56 at half. Heat score 20points in 4 1/2 minutes. James, Wade combine for 36. Rockets allowed 62 in 1st h last night.

Exciting game with 6 ties and 7 lead changes. It's been a one possession game 52% of the time. #Heat lead #Rockets 59-56, late Q2. #HOUvsMIA

    Nick Ivanovic ‏@RocketsRedux
    D-Wade leads the #Heat offense with 17 pts (6-9 FG) and 3 assists. #Heat are up 59-56, late Q2.

  56. I personally don't know what it will take for Lin to get over Miami Heat.

    He seems just, slow...Today.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. For one thing, he needs to keep his head up while dribbling. Heat's pressure keeps him from maintaining good court vision.

      Delete
    2. The heat have the right personnel to stymie Lin. Chalmers and Cole are very good on ball defenders that apply pressure defensively. And I've always felt Jeremy's handle was just average for a PG and t gets exposed against a team like the Heat.

On that last play, Cole forced him left but he didn't take the open lane until it was too late and the help was able to come.

      Delete
    3. I thought Chalmers hit Lin in the forearm causing Lin to cough the ball up. Maybe I am wrong.

      Delete
    4. He needs to hit jumpers.

Only point guards and teams who hit jumpers can really beat the Heat.

      PnR won't work.

      Delete
    5. Miami is keying on Lin, just like last year, and there's been very few transition opportunities where Lin can do his thing. Miami has kept it a half court game, and I think this is where the youth of the Rockets are showing. You need to move without the ball and keep the ball moving and not let the miami heat defense get set. But, guys are just standing around, not quite knowing what to do against this type of defense.

  57. Howard Chen ‏@ho_chenCSN
LeBron was 7-9 for 17pts in the first half. So in his last three halves, LeBron has hit 20 of 23 field goals. #kindasortaimpressive #Heat

    ReplyDelete
  67. I guess Lin will not start in 3rd Q, hopefully he can find his game back soon.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Gusto ‏@Gusto_Salazar
When rockets don't have good ball movement their defense is horrible, easy buckets for heat in transition

    ReplyDelete
  69. Makes me sad when I see JLin play like this again against Miami.
He looks lost and Miami can sense the fear and just punking him again and again.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I wonder what Lin's strategy is once he receives the ball. Pass first or shoot first?

He seems to take awhile to probe the defense before he gets going and Miami isn't giving him that opportunity.

Lin should just take the ball into the paint and try to hit some bodies like Harden does and kick out to open man.

There will be open man cuz once Lin takes off, he will be triple teamed.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hiren Joshi ‏@htown747

    David ‏@Sole_Champ
@SpaceCityScoop1 What are the playoff complications of this game if the Rockets win or lose tonight?

    Space City Scoop ‏@SpaceCityScoop1
@Sole_Champ I don't think 1 game determines that. The Rockets are inconsistent. Inconsistent teams don't go far.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Lin has to pass the ball quicker since he shouldn't be surprised that a double team is coming his way. Once they have him trapped a turnover always seems to happen. I hate the Heat announcers!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes it's my opinion that Lin is passing too slow as well. Most seem to disagree though.

      Delete
    2. It's expected that heat announcers would be biased in favor of their team. What is unxplainble is rockets announcers being biased against jeremy. That is a hateful situation everytime you listen to them

    1. Good look from Lin, couldn't finish it, dammit.

      Delete
  75. Lin looked tentative. Time to create his own shots and score, esp when there is only one defender on him, instead of dribbling around and trying to set teammates up. I would rather see Lin being assertive and aggressive on offense, regardless of the outcome. Time to establish himself against the Heat.

The last possession of the half, Wade knew Lin was not going to take the shot, trapped and then stole the ball from Lin.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agree. He's taking too long probing the defense which opens him up to traps. He should just drive to the whole and create something.

      Delete
  76. Lin really needs a good game against the Heat cause this is the team that tramped on Linsanity. But he can only do this with the help of the coach (and the other players of course) but the irregular subbing pattern is undoing whatever momentum is building up. Hope to see more of Lin in the 2nd half

You get the impression the sooner Jeremy Lin gets out of South Florida, the better. He's probably glad he signed in the Western Conference.

  104. It seems like the Miami Heat is stuck in a time warp when Linsanity is still all the rage last February. Do they usually apply so much pressure to the PG position or is it just becuz it's JLin? I don't mind the Rockets losing this game, but I don't want it to be a blowout. Another learning experience for JLin and the Rockets no matter win or lose.

Rockets' offense very capable of rallying in a hurry. That's what they've done here, slicing 17-point deficit to 7, still 3:06 left in 3Q.
