Goodluck Jeremy!!may you have an exciting and high scoring game tonight! Beat the nets..oops, sorry to all my fellow jerseyans...anyway the team is in brooklyn now so i guess it is ok.
Lin made a chest-level pass immediately after, which the commentators chose to ignore, then the minute Harden does it, they say "oh, that's how you pass to him"...
Agree. Sometimes Lin has to realize that Asik sucks at catching the ball, so Lin has to make it very easy for the butter fingers to catch the ball. Actually, Harden's taking the ball aggressively to the basket is a good play because he draws fouls more often than not. I can feel that it's not going to be a good game for Lin today. Hope Rockets win.
But of course JLin is stubborn like that. He won't freeze Asik out. He should just take the shots instead of handing it to Asik and try and draw a foul.
LOL, Asik. Cost Jeremy two assists already. Or was it three?
Jeremy has horrendous offensive forwards and he doesn't even handle the ball 70% of the time. Still, he has 6apg He'd average 12apg on the Celtics...or even the Hornets.
Yup. But that's what happens when your jealous selfish teammates freeze you out for weeks at a time.
You force up bad shots because you have no idea when you'll ever touch the ball again. I'd like to see Jeremy stop helping on defense and not helping Harden and Parsons on traps -- see how they like being stranded.
Does anyone else here loathe Clyde? This mother fucker has to go. The most biased, prejudiced, Harden/any-black-player's nut-hugging, clueless commentator in the world. I'm surprised he's not in NYC, with the way he's slighted against Lin.
Do you totally disagree, or just disagree about the "black player" part? You don't think he underplays Lin's ability while promoting others'? Harden just let his man go completely by him for a 3, commentators just said that the guy is really good. No comment on D. There's a huge difference between how they call Lin's plays vs. Harden's.
No, I don't. I've heard Drexler compliment Lin twice, at least once. I think your assessment isn't exactly objective. And Harden is a top 5 shooting guard in the NBA.
Can you quote it? I've been quoting what Clyde's been saying.
i.e. poor d despite him doing better than Douglas. Douglas gets complimented despite his shotty D. in the past 8 games i.e. even when Jeremy does well, and steals, the compliments are about how they're surprised as opposed to being really good at steals i.e. when Douglas or Harden does anything slightly well, they're labelled as one of the bests in their fields
Please explicitly state what part of my assertions aren't objective.
I just did TWO quotes. I'll repeat them even though it shouldn't be necessary:
1. "When you can make that shot, with your quickness, you'll be unguardable."
2. "big time pass" there's another one for you.
There are more. Whether I quote them or not doesn't make them suddenly not exist. You're not being objective and I'm going to call it like I see it.
You're not objective because Drexler doesn't have an agenda. How do I know? Well, I'm not a mind reader so I can't know with certainty. But based upon what I see, and the many good things Drexler says about Lin, it dosen't seem very llikely.
Both of those are really fair and really insightful comments from Clyde and Bill, you are absolutely right about them.
However, those aren't the problem. If they had said things like "Jeremy is one of the best guards in the league" after that pass, it would be on par with the ass-kissing buffoonery that we saw earlier. I don't expect them to say those things about Lin, but it's frustrating when they diminish his D., his steals, and his ability to make plays by over-complimenting his teammates when they demonstrate similar traits.
My quote the other way would be around the 8 minute mark. JLin was taken out for Douglas. The comment was Williams goes around and around JLin all day. Someone needs to start covering him. Douglas is a much better, faster defender. All of these assertions are untrue, as demonstrated in the play-by-plays of previous games, where JLin would guard the other PG much more effectively (something like a consistent 50% of scored points during JLin's coverage (66% of the time) vs. 50% of scored points during others' coverage (33% of the time) - similar to today.
I think your assessment is really a symptom of you not being satisfied with the amount of credit Lin is getting from the commentators (even though I've heard tons of compliments) more so than them being anything but fair.
I don't think Clyde has an agenda either, but your argument that you aren't a mind reader works both ways. You don't know. Therefore it could be both. I don't think it takes an agenda to show favouritism.
"When you can make that shot, with your quickness, you'll be unguardable." ~Drexler
The above quote was in reference to Lin. This is a huge, huge, huge showing of respect from Drexler. You think he'd say this about someone that didn't have TONS of talent? End of story. Done.
I just said the exact opposite. I just cited the problem I have with their biased broadcasting - diminishing Lin's plays in favour of others' similar, if not worse, plays. I quoted you specifics, against which you don't seem to have any actual rebuttals. I acknowledged the other fair assessments. I outlined the exact wording that they would have used if they were to comment on JLin's play as they do on other players.
It's not end of story. done. It's akin to me saying you're completely nonsensical, followed up with a, you are right that 1 + 1 = 2, and those two negating one another. You haven't said a single thing about the earlier comments.
Also, so far I've completely avoided in making assertions about your character or agenda, yet you felt the need to undermine mine. I've shown you the exact comments I have a problem with. You aren't responding to them, and instead, going straight into other comments I also agree with. It's strange.
I think you're grasping at straws. You're really hunting for something to complain about. If you look hard enough you can find something. But the bottom line is, I think Drexler and the other commentators have been absolutely fair and highly coplimenting of Lin. What you demand or expect is ridiculious. Seriously.
"Douglas is a much better, faster defender."
I don't remember Drexler saying it like this, honestly. He said that what keeps Douglas in the NBA is his 3 point shooting and his defense. AND when he was commenting on Douglas's quickness he said, VERY specifically, "On the defensive end." Actually, Douglas may have more lateral quickness on the defensive end and is known as a very solid one on one defensive player. He's also a smaller guard than Lin.
"You're not objective because Drexler doesn't have an agenda." - Implying I'm biased against Clyde.
"I think your assessment is really a symptom of you not being satisfied with the amount of credit Lin is getting from the commentators" - Implying I'm prejudiced towards Lin.
Your fallacy is that you go straight to pointing out why the other person should be dismissed as not being credible, as interpreted by you. I have not done so. I have only spoken to your exact points.
I don't know hwy you asked me for a quote showing you undermining my character when your 2nd last comment was :"Your nit-picking is bias".
That in itself is a bit of a joke. As I could just as easily say that your nit picking is also biased, and is biased for Clyde and Bill. Which would of course lead to the usual conversation that goes nowhere.
Fortunately, I can keep on the subject of specific quotes. Quotes I've been citing these since the beginning:
"Can you quote it? I've been quoting what Clyde's been saying.
i.e. poor d despite him doing better than Douglas. Douglas gets complimented despite his shotty D. in the past 8 games i.e. even when Jeremy does well, and steals, the compliments are about how they're surprised as opposed to being really good at steals i.e. when Douglas or Harden does anything slightly well, they're labelled as one of the bests in their fields
Please explicitly state what part of my assertions aren't objective."
Now, your claim that Clyde "complimented" JLin on his 3, that's a really fair assessment of his potential. I like that kind of commenting. He's not going overboard, and he's not diminishing the play of others. Earlier in the game, when Deron made plays like that, the comment was more about JLin not guarding him.
Let's ignore my point about the unfairness for now, and go straight with what you said, the comment from Clyde. You asserting that everything's good and fair because of that one comment would be akin to me claiming that you are dumb and blind, and then later saying, yes, Clyde did make a fair observation in Q3, so you are right in that quote, and in stating the second, the first is ignored/made okay. Fortunately, for others, not so much myself, I don't operate at such a low level.
1) Passing "Another pass to the center at his knees, we've said over and over, don't pass to a center at his knees - on JLin making a knee pass to Asik at 9:50 - Q1
No comment on JLin Passing to Asik's chest at 7:33 - Q1
"Now that's how you give it to him" Bill on Harden passing to Asik - the exact same spot that Jeremy passed it to 20 seconds earlier where 0 comment was made - 7:13
This is the diminishing, one-sided play calling I dislike, and infuriated me in the beginning.
2) Guarding: "You can't leave him open like that. You have to guard him on the pick" - on JLin going under the screen with Williams scoring at 9:00 - Q1. If you go back into the game in Leaguepass, you can see the number of times other players go under the pick, without reprimand from Bill/Clyde.
"Well Williams is the only guy to score for Jersey, so why don't we cover him this time" - comment made at 6:51 - Q1. Just another jab at JLin about not covering Williams. Later, these comments become "Williams is really good at making these shots." No chastising of play from Rox.
"That's what Toney douglas does. He comes out and he DEFENDS Point Guards (what a jabby mc.jab)." - Clyde. "Douglas is a bit more physical than Lin," Bill tries to demonstrate impartiality here "Yeah and he's a lot quicker as well, as a defender" - amazing, unbiased finish from Clyde. - on Douglas subbing in at 4:10 - Q1. These are jabs at Lin for "failing" Failing to cover Williams, despite limiting Wiliams to 9 points in all 7:40 of Q1, while Douglas/others let 11 in in 4:20 in Q1. This kind of pattern of defense effectiveness was seen in most previous games. The latest was in Denver (I believe), where JLin kept his shooter to 5 of 10, 11 points in 33 minutes, while Douglas and Beverly let the PG shoot 4 of 5 in 15.
They done it down in the 2nd and 3rd, and become a lot more objective. As you can see by my posts, most of my complaints were made in Q1 and Q2, whence they occurred.
I wouldn't be able to express how gratified I am at your demonstration of ignoring fact-based arguments in lieu of dismissive slander, and irrelevant rebuttals.
It is amazing how you can tell the way this game is gonna progress and how it's gonna end by just watching how jeremy is utilized and how harden does everything jus in the first quarter alone.Very depressing to see.
Mother. Fucking. Clyde the blind, moronic narrow-minded, pathetic excuse for a commentator, Glide - "Toney Douglas is just faster and better on D."
I'm glad the old man said that, and that it was caught on record. What happened when our shitty, lackluster on D. JLin goes off?
JLin played for 7 Minutes 40 Seconds, and DWill had 9. He goes off during the last 4 Minutes 20 Seconds, and fucking DWill scores 11. Yes, mother fucker, JLin's weaker than Douglas on D.
Lin playing terrible tonight. He's getting torched by Deron Williams who has 20 pts on 7-8 shooting, 4-4 from 3-point. Come on Jeremy, put a hand in his face!!!
I'm watching the game on League Pass, I didn't say that all of D-Will points were scored on Lin, but D-Will is a streaky shooter, and Lin gave him too many open looks to start the game.
"Streaky Shooting" is one of those myths. You can't prove that with statistics. For example, you can't discern what the shooter would have shot if they missed those early baskets. This term should have 0 clout, and is only really an extension of confidence. Yes, getting points early could build confidence, but however, someone can get more confident during the middle of a game as well - all those players who come back strong after a shitty game, i.e. Harden, Lin, Kobe, literally everyone in the NBA.
The reason why people throw this term around is because of poor statistical interpretation. Someone who shoots well early tends to shoot well later is completely nonsense - an analogy is that someone who eats a lot of birthday cake lives longer. You can't tell what drives the other.
I never heard a club commentators so biased against their own player. Seriously this is the worst i've heard so far, that white dude is even worse than Drexler. Is there a special agenda to attack Lin??
That's why I was asking if the commentators in Houston ever said things about how Jeremy should have more assists because he makes good passes but the person he passes to is unable to finish. The Knicks commentators for were supportive of Lin in the games I saw.
Don't just recycle what the commentators are saying. In the first quarter:
JLin played for 7 Minutes 40 Seconds, and DWill had 9. He goes off during the last 4 Minutes 20 Seconds, and fucking DWill scores 11. Yes, mother fucker, JLin's weaker than Douglas on D.
It's not on JLin. Go to nba stats and check the play by play to get your own barometer on his D. These commentators are useless.
JK, do you understand the meaning of a "streaky shooter" ? If you give D-Will too many open looks to start the game, he will get hot from outside and won't miss even contested jumpers. You need to stop him from getting hot in the 1st quarter, else he'll be on fire for the rest of the game.
Thankfully, that's not happening so far, but still ...
I don't buy into a phenomenon based on intuition. You literally defeated your own argument by saying that the effect didn't take place here. How do you explain the difference between the two score counts I posted? Unless we're going with JLin sucks on D, but his replacements suck worse.
Kenoshi - Lin started leaving his man after they swapped up coverage. Lin started covering another player while Parsons took over on DWill for a while.
I think the strategy for awhile was to have Jeremy double up on Williams (I think) when either Douglas or Delfino was guarding him. Obviously that didn't work too well because Watson can shoot it. So they put Parsons on Williams and Jeremy stayed home on Watson. Parsons seemed to do a better job on Williams than anyone else.
These announcers always give tons of credit to Asik and Parsons when they do good and cover for them when they play poorly. But when Lin does bad they ALWAYS single him out.
Sorry that u are hearing them tonight. I feel for u.sometimes, listening to them is worse than watching harden play PG.Hope u can finish the game without breaking your tv..
Please, quote them. I remember one, just because how much they stand out in comparison to his compliments for other Rox players. The one I remember goes something like "JLin is a sneaky player, he's sneaky at the steals." Even then, it's underhanded. He criticizes Lin's D. whenever someone sets a pick and he goes under it, yet when Douglas, Harden, or Beverly does anything similar, he gives credit to the opponent for being exceptional.
He was doing so much better up to about 4 games ago, but for some reason or another he regressed and starts following the ball too close and leaves his man either more than a pass away or disappears behind him with a cut.
I was looking at that too but it ended with a double-digit lead. I'm just saying if your (ahem the "coach's") reasoning for keeping certain guys in is that they were just playing well or things were going well, then be consistent. I've seen where Lin and the team are doing well but then Lin gets benched for no apparent reason.
That is something tha is so hard to fathom. Why do the houston announcers and rockets coaches hate lin when he plays for them?what or who can explain this?
That was obviously a blocking foul, not an offensive foul ... but if Lin had went up with the shot, I'm sure he would've gotten FT's because he would be looking to score.
He jumped in the air looking to pass to the corner, and the refs don't like that.
Harden sat for much of that 2nd quarter. And that's when the Rockets expanded their lead. But really, Houston's front court is the difference tonight. Patterson and Asik are having very good games.
Geeze some of his TO's are horrible. The only difference between Harden's TO and Lin's are that Harden is trying to force ugly ISO whereas Lin is trying to pass. His up the court passing is off today big time, perhaps he got rusty from not getting to do it often enough the last 10-12 games.
Are we starting another thread for the 2nd half? Lin got another TO trying to do a lob pass to Patterson, but Wallace caught up and got the ball. A BS call by the ref on a tripping when Wallace tripped over his own feet.
Goodluck Jeremy!!may you have an exciting and high scoring game tonight! Beat the nets..oops, sorry to all my fellow jerseyans...anyway the team is in brooklyn now so i guess it is ok.
ReplyDeletelets have an encore performance lin and rockets.
ReplyDeleteYa'll do realize this game is determined by how well Harden can guard Joe Johnson, right?
ReplyDeleteI am watching this game on the Yes network, which is also the Nets network in NYC. Go Rockets!
ReplyDeleteAwesome.jeremy telling ref what happened there
ReplyDeleteAsik got his first 2 tonight on the reverse layup over Brook Lopez.
ReplyDeleteAsik, you make me wanna kill u for kiling jeremy's assist
ReplyDeletewow D-will is aggressive today
ReplyDeleteCommentators have a point: Asik is known to not be able to catch those bounce passes! Can't keep on making those passes.
ReplyDeleteLin made a chest-level pass immediately after, which the commentators chose to ignore, then the minute Harden does it, they say "oh, that's how you pass to him"...
DeleteAgain, asik!!!!!urrgh!!
ReplyDeleteJlin not lookin good vs dwill getting schooled 2x already.
ReplyDeletefor a 7 footer, Asik has no hops and no hands.
ReplyDeleteasik sucks
ReplyDeleteHaha asik! Lmao
ReplyDeleteFinally asik got it! Do it too when jeremy gives u an assist
ReplyDeleteOh its a pass from Lin, I'm going to fumble it. Oh its a pass from Harden, I'm going to dunk it
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looked like that.
Deleteasik's turnover is being charged to Lin.
ReplyDeleteThat is BS scoring because Asik has control and made the pass to no man's land.
DeleteWhy they gave Lin two turn over already? Isn't one of the turn over due to Asik making a stupid pass?
ReplyDeleteLin keep passing to asik, highest chance to TO.
ReplyDeleteharden coast to coast hero ball. keep up this bullish*t and watch the fox fall apart again.
ReplyDeleteLin needs to just not pass to Asik he can't catch those passes it has to be a short hand off like what Harden is doing.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Sometimes Lin has to realize that Asik sucks at catching the ball, so Lin has to make it very easy for the butter fingers to catch the ball. Actually, Harden's taking the ball aggressively to the basket is a good play because he draws fouls more often than not. I can feel that it's not going to be a good game for Lin today. rox
ReplyDeletegoddammit early sub
ReplyDeleteBad drive to the basket. You knew Lin was going to get stuffed.
ReplyDeleteI actually agree with the sub this time. Just a very lazy play. Dougie is playing well; he deserves to be out there.
DeleteYup. But that's what happens when your jealous selfish teammates freeze you out for weeks at a time.
DeleteYou force up bad shots because you have no idea when you'll ever touch the ball again. I'd like to see Jeremy stop helping on defense and not helping Harden and Parsons on traps -- see how they like being stranded.
Lin could have tried short jumpers rather than take it to the basket.
DeleteYeah, he could have...and then he'd be benched like he has been before for taking those shots.
DeleteHeh figures they sub out Lin early...Lin needs to be more on ball vs DWill...Esp not leave him out and letting him shoot 3s unguarded.
ReplyDeleteLike what TD is doing to DWill forcing TOs.
DeleteDid jeremy make any basket so far?
ReplyDeletenope 0/2
DeleteNope he missed a 3ball and layup got blocked. He made good passes to asik, but you know how that goes..
DeleteAawww.Hope that doesnt translate to long strech of benching.
DeleteSame old Rockets.
ReplyDeleteLin being frozen out by Harden and Parsons. Asik is the worst offensive center in the league (Bulls fans knew what they were talking about).
What a horrible team. Horrible to watch, horrible to root for.
Agreed. Just ugh...
DeleteDoes anyone else here loathe Clyde? This mother fucker has to go. The most biased, prejudiced, Harden/any-black-player's nut-hugging, clueless commentator in the world. I'm surprised he's not in NYC, with the way he's slighted against Lin.
ReplyDeleteI rather listen to the Nets announcers than Clyde and Bill Warrell.
DeleteIm glad im not listening to him tonight otherwise my tv would be muted again

DeleteLol, good job proving my point. And thank you, I will have the last word. Don't renege on your e-promise now.
DeleteI wouldn't be able to express how gratified I am at your demonstration of ignoring fact-based arguments in lieu of dismissive slander, and irrelevant rebuttals.
DeleteDwill wont ever get punked by lin again.. lol
ReplyDeletetime to stop watching houston games. If they don't use Lin right, there is no point in watching.
ReplyDeleteUh oh morris is in...There goes our D.
ReplyDeleteDWill blowing past TD at will now. I predict 30pt game for him. Oh he's already at 16!
Here is where we see McHale being stupid, DWill needs to be double teamed, but he won't adjust.
Make that 17.
DeleteSigh.
ReplyDeleteGoing to lose this game. They depend on the 3 too much.
It's going to take something DRASTIC to save the season for Lin and Houston.
ReplyDeleteInjury to Harden? McHale resigning? Morey fired? Jeremy having a SERIOUS argument with his teammates?
Something has to change...
One advice for JLin: stop passing the ball to Asik because it will sky rocket your TOs.
ReplyDeleteNo teamwork again tonight. Might be close now, but I think Rockets are going to lose.
ReplyDeleteI am really liking DWill's game today. 20pts in first quarter.
ReplyDeleteThey can't stop him.
It is amazing how you can tell the way this game is gonna progress and how it's gonna end by just watching how jeremy is utilized and how harden does everything jus in the first quarter alone.Very depressing to see.
ReplyDeleteWow very nice they lighting it up.
ReplyDeleteJLin might sit 2nd quarter.
Mother. Fucking. Clyde the blind, moronic narrow-minded, pathetic excuse for a commentator, Glide - "Toney Douglas is just faster and better on D."
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the old man said that, and that it was caught on record.
How did this retard get hired?
You speak truth. Basketball is filled with more buffoons than any other sport.
Delete99% of them judge by "the eye test."
Both these fucking mouth-breathing sub-humans are saying the same thing. Morons.
DeleteThat was a waste of 3 possessions.
ReplyDeleteI want lin to have good games, yet I still want the rockets to lose. The more they lose, quicker mcfale gets booted. Switching to the bulls game
ReplyDeleteSMITH!!!!
ReplyDeleteDwill is likely to get 40pts this game .
ReplyDeleteOh man DWill sprained his ankle? TD just mad doggin' him.
ReplyDeleteI just hope jeremy will get to play more mins as PG and change the outcome i see coming.
ReplyDeleteLin playing terrible tonight. He's getting torched by Deron Williams who has 20 pts on 7-8 shooting, 4-4 from 3-point. Come on Jeremy, put a hand in his face!!!
ReplyDeleteWell DWill is out hopefully he won't return, if so he needs to take TD out to dinner. He was getting LIT UP like a christmas tree.
DeleteAre you watching the game? Lin was not getting torched by DWill. It was after Lin sat down.
DeleteDWill got only 9 when Lin was in... Lin was in for 7 Minutes 40 Seconds.
DeleteDWill got the other 11 when Lin was out... Lin was out for 4 Minutes 20 Seconds.
Recheck your stats.
JK, can you keep track of dwill's scoring on here for us?
DeleteDefinitely will have to, to shut up haters - not calling you a hater, ABC, you might have just been distracted by the popular stats.
DeleteI'm watching the game on League Pass, I didn't say that all of D-Will points were scored on Lin, but D-Will is a streaky shooter, and Lin gave him too many open looks to start the game.
Delete"Streaky Shooting" is one of those myths.
DeleteThe reason why people throw this term around is because of poor statistical interpretation. Someone who shoots well early tends to shoot well later is completely nonsense - an analogy is that someone who eats a lot of birthday cake lives longer. You can't tell what drives the other.
Wow 0/3 c'mon Lin.
ReplyDeleteTime for jeremy to shine.
ReplyDeleteDelfino!
ReplyDeleteNice assist to Parsons by Lin.
JLin has no rythm whatsoever. His jumpers looked awful.
ReplyDeleteI agree, offensively, he's irrelevant right now.
DeleteUgh Lin you CANNOT leave your man so wide open on the perimeter. Quit overhelping that much.
ReplyDeleteBasically, everyone on Rox is playing well except Lin, he is only person on rotation with 0 points and 2TOs already.
ReplyDeleteOh boy the LOHs gunna have a field day.
Ditto.
DeleteLin is always cold after 1 good game
ReplyDeleteNot really. He had a string of great games in late December.
DeleteThe Rockets simply took the ball out of his hands.
JUST LIKE THAT LIN SIMPLE DISHES to Asik nice dunk too :)
ReplyDeleteWow, Asik can post up on guys and score ... who knew ?
ReplyDeletehe got inspired by greg smith.
DeleteRockets takes the biggest lead with harden sitting out and lin on court
ReplyDeleteIf Lin keeps dishing like this I'm happy. Parsons on DWill lol.
ReplyDeleteWow Delfino had time to count the scratches on the floor that time.
WHY DOES PARSONS HAVE MORE ASSISTS THAN LIN?????? I JUST LOGGED ONTO LEAGUEPASS.
ReplyDeleteLOL Parsons thought he was Harden ...
ReplyDeleteJeremy playing PG. how exciting!!keep harden on the bench
ReplyDeleteuhm, you're not that good to get the last shot parsons.
ReplyDeleteParsons 7 assists lol
ReplyDeleteLin runs the offense...
ReplyDelete...and even without scoring, the Rockets DESTROY the Nets.
Even with D-Will back in, they're still leading by 15.
I never heard a club commentators so biased against their own player. Seriously this is the worst i've heard so far, that white dude is even worse than Drexler. Is there a special agenda to attack Lin??
ReplyDeletei hate bill worrell. He's not a fan of lin at all. Clyde's meh and matt ballard likes lin.
DeletePut your TV on mute. I am listening to Nets broadcast. Much better than listening to Houston's garbage.
Deletejohn ly, where can I get the nets broadcast?
DeleteIf you have Verizon Fios it is on 576 Yes Network.
DeleteYeah it really is bad. They talk about Lin like he's on the other team.
DeleteThat's why I was asking if the commentators in Houston ever said things about how Jeremy should have more assists because he makes good passes but the person he passes to is unable to finish. The Knicks commentators for were supportive of Lin in the games I saw.
DeleteKsmith
DeleteIf u have optimum channel 70 here in the east.
asik is playing much better after he saw how greg smith was playing. smith got nice hands.
ReplyDeleteWhy does harden need to come back at this time? Watch the lead get cut down soon
ReplyDeleteScore is 38-53 with Houston leading. Harden just entered the game for Delfino. I want to see what happens to the score.
ReplyDeleteRockets need to keep attacking in transition, it got them a 18-point lead, now they're giving it up by slowing down and playing half court.
ReplyDeletefinally, a nice move for lin's 1st basket however his "d" tonight is pretty weak.
ReplyDeleteDon't just recycle what the commentators are saying. In the first quarter:
DeleteJLin played for 7 Minutes 40 Seconds, and DWill had 9. He goes off during the last 4 Minutes 20 Seconds, and fucking DWill scores 11. Yes, mother fucker, JLin's weaker than Douglas on D.
It's not on JLin. Go to nba stats and check the play by play to get your own barometer on his D. These commentators are useless.
calm down spazz, i'm watching the game and that's what i see. did you see that nice pass he just forced?
DeleteJK, do you understand the meaning of a "streaky shooter" ? If you give D-Will too many open looks to start the game, he will get hot from outside and won't miss even contested jumpers. You need to stop him from getting hot in the 1st quarter, else he'll be on fire for the rest of the game.
DeleteThankfully, that's not happening so far, but still ...
Yep exactly.
DeleteAnd Lin really needs to stop leaving his man, he gave up like 8-10pts doing that.
I don't buy into a phenomenon based on intuition. You literally defeated your own argument by saying that the effect didn't take place here. How do you explain the difference between the two score counts I posted? Unless we're going with JLin sucks on D, but his replacements suck worse.
DeleteKenoshi - Lin started leaving his man after they swapped up coverage. Lin started covering another player while Parsons took over on DWill for a while.
Come on Lin,just guard ur own guy.
ReplyDeleteI think the strategy for awhile was to have Jeremy double up on Williams (I think) when either Douglas or Delfino was guarding him. Obviously that didn't work too well because Watson can shoot it. So they put Parsons on Williams and Jeremy stayed home on Watson. Parsons seemed to do a better job on Williams than anyone else.
Deletei think the length of parsons is making it harder on dwill and he's cooling off too.
DeleteThese announcers always give tons of credit to Asik and Parsons when they do good and cover for them when they play poorly. But when Lin does bad they ALWAYS single him out.
ReplyDeleteWho are you listening to?
DeleteWho do you think I'm listening to? They do this every game.
DeleteSorry that u are hearing them tonight. I feel for u.sometimes, listening to them is worse than watching harden play PG.Hope u can finish the game without breaking your tv..
DeleteWhatever.
DeleteThey have been doing it all season.
blackflag, maybe because they expect more from Jeremy Lin? There are more ways to view this than that.
DeleteAs a matter of fact, I heard Clyde compliment Lin twice today if I'm not mistaken.
DeletePlease, quote them.
DeleteIt may even be 3. But the other one, I'm pretty sure, is when Lin shot his first shot, Drexler said he's crafty under the rim.
DeleteLin is the starter... he's going to have higher expectations than other players.
Lead is down to single digit. Ever wonder why?
ReplyDeletelin lost watson twice for scores. bad full length pass.
Deletethen has a nice steal. has a really bad habit of losing his man . still. tyson chandler called him out on it last year too.
DeleteHe was doing so much better up to about 4 games ago, but for some reason or another he regressed and starts following the ball too close and leaves his man either more than a pass away or disappears behind him with a cut.
DeleteReally hate it when he does that.
Deletei think the coach could be watching out for lin and try not to overplay him because when lin plays he pushes the ball well and attacks well too.
DeleteThe Commentator from Nets says jeremy has talent and no question abt that!
ReplyDeleteit seems like other coaches and commentators see his talent but his own coaches and team don't. if they do, they're not utilizing him properly.
DeleteThat is something tha is so hard to fathom. Why do the houston announcers and rockets coaches hate lin when he plays for them?what or who can explain this?
Deletehorrible charge call against JLin.
ReplyDeleteyea...even the commentators say that was a crap call
DeleteThat was obviously a blocking foul, not an offensive foul ... but if Lin had went up with the shot, I'm sure he would've gotten FT's because he would be looking to score.
DeleteHe jumped in the air looking to pass to the corner, and the refs don't like that.
That was a terrible call. As the announcer said, CJ Watson wasn't even close to being set.
Deletethey called a charge because he wasn't going to score
DeleteHe needs to not jump looking to pass I hate it when he does that, those result in TOs 50% of the time for him.
Deletehaha bill worell on the rockets broadcast:
ReplyDeletejeremy lin had so many steals last night. if he was on bourbon street they would have thrown him in jail
Lol!
Deletejeremy did very well in the 2nd quarter...keep it up lin
ReplyDeletealso nice block by lin
Deletealmost looked like the josh smith monster block lin had.
DeleteHarden sat for much of that 2nd quarter. And that's when the Rockets expanded their lead. But really, Houston's front court is the difference tonight. Patterson and Asik are having very good games.
Deletei guess lin just needs to be more physical with williams. on the flip side, lin is flowing with the team. he'll be better in the second 1/2.
ReplyDeleteWilliams came to play tonight. Neither Lin or Douglas could stop him, but they put Parsons on him and that seemed to work.
DeleteLet me ask you all a question. Have you guys ever seen McHale defending Lin from wrong ref calls?
ReplyDeletedont see much from mchale... except a scowl or eyes rolling when lin turns it over or shoots a mid-range shot.
Deleteas mchale says, he'll be fine.
5 TO's already. Lin needs to stop telegraphing those outlet passes in the backcourt.
ReplyDeleteGeeze some of his TO's are horrible. The only difference between Harden's TO and Lin's are that Harden is trying to force ugly ISO whereas Lin is trying to pass. His up the court passing is off today big time, perhaps he got rusty from not getting to do it often enough the last 10-12 games.
DeleteAre we starting another thread for the 2nd half? Lin got another TO trying to do a lob pass to Patterson, but Wallace caught up and got the ball. A BS call by the ref on a tripping when Wallace tripped over his own feet.
ReplyDeleteLin's jump shot look so flat. It looks almost like it will not even draw iron. Muscles fatigue lead to muscle memory loss? Hmmm
ReplyDeleteKyrie Irving game winning 3pointer over toronto.
ReplyDelete6 TOs
ReplyDeleteWow Lin wtf. That was a horrible pass.
Nice save that time tho.
ReplyDeleteAnd Harden leaves JJ open...For a 3...
ReplyDeleteI swear Lin is copying Harden too much.
Asik actually doing well.
And did williams score on Lin again?
Lin has 6TO,omg!
ReplyDeleteLin is not doing well with the ball tonight. 6 TO's. I will say 4 TO's are his because Asik messed up two.
ReplyDeleteLin's passes looked shaky tonight.
DeleteDefinitely filled up the stats with 6pts/6asts/6TOs.
He needs to play it safe tonight.
The shitty charge call would have counted as another one too, no?
DeleteBesides the turnovers, the Rockets are playing their winning style of basketball. They are forcing the Nets to play at their up-tempo pace.
ReplyDeleteYou can live with TO's when you are winning big. However Lin's long passes are horrific today, way off....
ReplyDeleteMr. 4th Quarter has appeared!
ReplyDeleteWhy are the other teams announcers so much nicer to Lin than ours?
ReplyDeleteIt literally blows my mind. I really wish I knew why, because this lack of rationale is just making me frustrated.
Delete
