Go jeremy!!!Relive Linsanity and go beyond..God bless you on this game.Jlin fans, all hail to the floor general or floor commander. You all have a good time watching and posting.beware of trolls.
Harden is playing unselfishly so far. Problem is in Q4, Harden goes into hero ball mode. But hey, he wasn't even passing in the 1st Quarter the last 10 games or so, or the coaches were force feeding Harden ball, so this is a nice change.
I don't think it was a bad sub. Lin WAS playing well, but it's a normal sub pattern. Lin will start the 2nd Q while Harden sits. Now if Lin was ON FIRE, I'd be pissed today.
Trust me I'll be the first to complain when they sub Lin out unfairly or in a poor manner.
I missed the buckets (and Asik TO credited to Lin), but this is a great start for Jeremy. He's handling the ball!
Maybe THIS is finally the turning point, though. The winning streak gave Houston an ego and they decided to freeze out J-Lin to look for their own shots more. But then the losing streak made them realize they had to let him run the show.
But I don't want to jinx it. This damn coach and Jeremy's teammates are just too thick-headed.
OK... Seriously, some guys need to relax. McHale is not coaching bad in the last 3 games including this one so give him some credit. Once he starts making dumb decisions again then we can complain. For now, give the guys a break, that includes Harden too.
Sidenote: It seems Rockets are playing slower ball today. I kinda like it, cause it shows you they can do that also. They should up the tempo in the quarters to come.
It's funny though, because the announcers said something like "with the Rockets playing at their pace now, hopefully they can't sustain it in the 4th." I'm sitting here going "what pace?"
Lin Delfino Parsons Patterson Asik... that's my best five players on the court for the rockets team... Harden for Delfino IF he's not playing ISO ball..
Good quarter. Lesson learned by McHale. You can't have Smith and Morris at the same time in this game cause they can't contain the paint. He needs Asik to play most of the game and have Patterson when Asik is not in.
Parsons subbed back in at the 1:40 mark for Harden. When Parsons and Lin first went off, they were +4, then that went to 0 when Parsons came back in. At the end of the 1st, Parsons was at +10 while Lin was at +4, then I think Delfino got another 3 with just Parsons on the court.
Harden is swishing, dishing, praying and playing on his way to the hoop. He has the throw back head to show he is praying to the lord that his ball will go into the hoop.
Oh Oh. Utah's coach doesn't know what to do. Rockets need to keep this up. McHale can't bench Lin before the 2 minute mark in the second. Overall good game for Rockets the key is the paint in this game and they are doing just that. And who is doing that? Lin! :D
Harden is just blowing by the lame Utah guards this game!
The Rockets are up by like 20. If Utah isn't going to guard Harden, let him attack and score!
Meanwhile, Jeremy Lin is DISMANTLING the Jazz on defense. It's like a repeat of the old Chicago-Jazz finals where Scottie Pippen guarded the entire Jazz team all by himself!
Commentators are trying to pronounce Asik's name and butchering it after Asik was called on an offensive goal tend on Lin's layup attempt at the hoop. If he hasn't touched it that ball would have gone in.
I bet it was all of those things -- "Man, get your head in the game! Not even trying to get a mistimed pass...not moving your feet on D...not getting the PG the ball..."
Either way, I'm glad Jeremy is being more VOCAL on the court. He wasn't doing that much this season.
I'd be forcing the ball into Harden this game too.
The Jazz are not doing more than token guarding Harden. They show hard on the perimeter, but then they lay down and play dead when Harden beats his man.
Ty Corbin planned the Jazz to stop Lin and all the perimeter bailout passes. The result is that the Jazz are caught flatfooted when Harden penetrates right by his man.
The Jazz better start actually collapsing on Harden in the 2nd half if they don't want Houston to laugh this one away.
I hate the non calls on offense, so much more than the defensive foul calls while he's taking a charge perfectly. My rationale is that the missed charge calls are so blatant that he gets something back, whereas I don't think he gets anything from missed fouls in his drives.
He has to in this game, I think they're taking the correct risk, he needs to help clog the lane against Jazz big men, he foiled many attempts so far and using his speed to get back to semi contest.
That's true, but on the whole, it's been positive because the Jazz look out of sync. I think it's because Lin is helping out against the Jazz big men. But the Jazz may make adjustments in the second half so Lin better be careful.
Normally, as Coach Nick from bballbreakdown reminds us, you're not supposed to help on a big man when there's a 3pt shooter one-pass away. Jeremy used to do this unnecessarily, but he's fixed that problem.
He's doing that again in Houston, but that's the correct move in this case. As jp2123 said, Jefferson and Millsap will destory the Rockets soft D (no one by Asik is even decent) without his "over-helping."
If Jamaal Tinsley wants to fire away from outside, let him.
Besides, Lin is guarding the post AND rotating back outside to challenge the opposing point guard.
Lin's speed is terrifying his opponents into not shooting jumpshots. Those guys want to take shots, but Lin is flying at them with full speed ready to swat their jump shots past the halfcourt line!
Kenoshi: I thought you were going to comment that Lin's doing too much help defense and leaving his man wide open for a 3. I guess I have to do it for you...
He has to in this game, I think they're taking the correct risk, he needs to help clog the lane against Jazz big men, he foiled many attempts so far and using his speed to get back to semi contest.
What a way to finish! HARDEN WITH THE SLAM! Man those Jazz fans are MAD! They have been booing since the beginning.
Rockets need to bring the pace in the 3rd and finish this game. I'm kinda scare that because of their youth they might just slow down and become sloppy. It is a big lead but it can disappear in a couple of minutes easily. Jazz are going to come out of halftime hungry. We need to shut the door fast and early.
Rockets are playing at a slower pace than usual but loving the game. This is fun! :D
Haha, I loved that too. And Jefferson patted him on the back right after ("Thanks man").
Big Al does seem like a nice guy. A fun guy too. I remember when he got called for an and-one during Linsanity and he made a hilarious "OMG no way!" face. Not angry, just incredulous. To be fair, it was a make-up call for when he clearly hacked Jeremy earlier without a whistle.
If not mistaken, Lin scored two layups using his left hand to shoot. His right side is much stronger, but he can still manage to get the job done on left.
Lin's overhelping is no different than most elite guards. Lin plays percentages and gambles, most elite players do...problem with Lin is that he tries really hard to recover and looks a big desperate at times to get back or challenge the shot. It wouldn't look so bad if he just half assed it back to his man like the rest of the NBA guys do.
I'm actually a fan of Lin's "overhelping." The overall effect really helps the team win because: 1. opposing bigs can't focus and get in rhythm, always worried about the mosquito 2. Houston's bigs stay out of foul trouble
I would like to think it's a matter of discretion, and that he knows when to do so. I think up until a couple of games ago, most people were complaining that he overhelps.
AGreed he is overhelping effectively today because Utah doesn't have shooters except Foye. I am talking about the majority of the games where Lin looks burned oftentimes. Lin cant' do what he does against a Steph Curry for example. It will look BAD.
This game is boring... Utah is BAD. Charlotte game will probably be a cake walk as well. I cant wait for the Nuggets, Warriors, Heat, and Damian Lillard next week!
That's probably what everyone was thinking before the losing streak... Utah currently has a better record than Houston. Maybe not after this game though.
Go jeremy!!!Relive Linsanity and go beyond..God bless you on this game.Jlin fans, all hail to the floor general or floor commander. You all have a good time watching and posting.beware of trolls.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Feigen:
ReplyDeleteWat. Masaka, 1st Asian American in NBA, here to meet Jeremy Lin. Sitting behind Rockets bench to watch him warmup.
Pretty big group here waiting for Jeremy Lin. Lots of Harvard gear.
Harvard Club of Utah is here. They seem interested in Jeremy Lin's warmup routine.
Lin on meeting Wat Misaka: "He broke a lot of barriers and racial stereotypes. You have to pay respect to the people who came before you.”
Misaka, 89 and a native of Ogden, was 1st Asian American in NBA. Knicks drafted him out of Utah in 1947. Lin on meeting: “It was humbling."
Wat Misaka -> legend!
DeleteBTW:
DeleteI read Misaka was not just the first asian american in the NBA - he was also the first non caucasian.
Jeremy and Wat Misaka
DeleteAwesome! Thanks!
DeleteMcHell is clean shaven. That's a good sign.
ReplyDeleteHarden is already firing from long range and missed two so far.
ReplyDelete3/4 shooting so far for Rox 2/6 for Jazz. Tinsley scored over Lin cause well he's overhelping again.
ReplyDeleteLin gets 2
ReplyDeleteHe is PG
They're doing good keeping them out of paint, Lin gets 2+1.
ReplyDeleteLin is showing some signs of aggressiveness so far. 5 points on two drives to the basket beating Al Jefferson.
ReplyDeleteLets go Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteLin going strong to the hoop. Looking good.
ReplyDeleteLol Lin => patterson twice...Jazz looks slow.
ReplyDeleteOh man, this looks like its going to be a GOOD GAME! :D

thanks to via
Lol pass to parsons and Asik tries to "steal" it and cause TO.
ReplyDeleteHarden gets it back to parsons to patterson for dunk.
TO on Asik good they didn't count that as Lins.
DeleteLin has a turnover. McHale is going to bench him right during this timeout.
DeleteWow Asik... WTF? Does he speak English... maybe he didn't understand Lin's commands, LOL!
ReplyDeletelayup and 1 by Lin... yeah! That's my boy JLIN!! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, that's so dumb. They gave a turnover on Lin on that pass. ASIK GET OUT OF THE WAY! Geez... one less point on fantasy...
ReplyDeleteOh wow it was on Asik guess they changed it to Lin.
DeleteSucks :/
Asik's steal... O. M. G.
ReplyDeleteI literally laughed out loud.
Jazz has 3 treys so far tho :/
ReplyDeleteHarden is bricking again. Lin got two assists so far.
ReplyDeleteGive Harden some credit today, he is letting Lin handle the ball so far...
DeleteParsons + Patterson + Asik doing good defending the paint.
ReplyDeleteHarden is playing unselfishly so far. Problem is in Q4, Harden goes into hero ball mode. But hey, he wasn't even passing in the 1st Quarter the last 10 games or so, or the coaches were force feeding Harden ball, so this is a nice change.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too. Harden must not be feeling like himself.
DeleteOh no he's just waiting for JLin to sit.
DeleteHe is doing well as well.
Scoring drought
ReplyDeleteLOL UGLY ASS TRAVEL
ReplyDeleteLol Lin => delfino!
ReplyDeleteDamn it Foye gets 2+1...Harden is cold.
ReplyDeleteLin is out TD + Harden + Delfino + Asik + Patterson.
ReplyDeleteMan! where is lin?
ReplyDeleteSmith lol looks lost on that play.
ReplyDeleteBig Al is taking it to Smith...Smith looks like a lil boy so far.
DeleteJLIN 5 points. 2/2 and 3 assist in first 8 minutes. I hope that McHale put him to rest early for him to start in 2nd quarter while Harden rests.
ReplyDeleteWith his 3 assists and 5 pts he was responsible for 12pts for that 16pt drive he deserves some rest :)
DeleteI am falling asleep too. I thought it's just cuz the game is low tempo.
ReplyDeleteOMG HARDEN GO BROTHA!
ReplyDeleteHe should have gotten an and 1, but the ref didn't call it. He got hit so hard you could hear it.
DeleteDamn! Lin got benched when he's feeling the game... stupid coach!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it was a bad sub. Lin WAS playing well, but it's a normal sub pattern. Lin will start the 2nd Q while Harden sits. Now if Lin was ON FIRE, I'd be pissed today.
DeleteTrust me I'll be the first to complain when they sub Lin out unfairly or in a poor manner.
Lin had a good 1st quarter.
ReplyDeleteWithin 4 now tho c'mon Harden stretch the lead :)
ReplyDeleteI missed the buckets (and Asik TO credited to Lin), but this is a great start for Jeremy. He's handling the ball!
ReplyDeleteMaybe THIS is finally the turning point, though. The winning streak gave Houston an ego and they decided to freeze out J-Lin to look for their own shots more. But then the losing streak made them realize they had to let him run the show.
But I don't want to jinx it. This damn coach and Jeremy's teammates are just too thick-headed.
Eh, I seen it before. Wait til 4th Quarter...he usually handles it for 3 Quarters and give it to Harden in Q4.
DeleteYou're wrong -- he usually handles it for 1 quarter.
DeleteIs Royce White on the bench? He's listed on ESPN's box score.
ReplyDeleteOK... Seriously, some guys need to relax. McHale is not coaching bad in the last 3 games including this one so give him some credit. Once he starts making dumb decisions again then we can complain. For now, give the guys a break, that includes Harden too.
ReplyDeleteSidenote: It seems Rockets are playing slower ball today. I kinda like it, cause it shows you they can do that also. They should up the tempo in the quarters to come.
+1
DeleteIt's funny though, because the announcers said something like "with the Rockets playing at their pace now, hopefully they can't sustain it in the 4th." I'm sitting here going "what pace?"
LOL! I heard that too. I'm like, "You havn't watched Rockets pace, have you"?
DeleteOh what a block on smith...He is his fouling self again :/
ReplyDelete5 pts per Q for JLin and all of us fans will be very pleased.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought, with all the trade rumors going on... is it possible to trade coaches in the middle of the season? hahaha
ReplyDeleteWOw the defense is a joke now.
ReplyDeleteTied :/
Deleteya jlin sit the jazz doing well...............come on
ReplyDeleteParsons + Asik stretches the lead great team work there.
ReplyDeleteLol douglas with the freebie stretch out to 6! Go Rox!
DeleteLin Delfino Parsons Patterson Asik... that's my best five players on the court for the rockets team... Harden for Delfino IF he's not playing ISO ball..
ReplyDeleteGood 1st quarter so far really clean ball only 2 TOs, go Rox!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Harden has 0 TO? I thought he got at least 2 TOs. Hmmmm
ReplyDeleteHe def got one. So idk.
DeleteGood quarter. Lesson learned by McHale. You can't have Smith and Morris at the same time in this game cause they can't contain the paint. He needs Asik to play most of the game and have Patterson when Asik is not in.
ReplyDeleteBalanced team effort from the Rockets. No Harden Hero Ball (HHB)
ReplyDeleteSome really awkward +/- in the box score at the end of the 1Q. Didn't Lin and Parson play the same minutes? How come their +/- is 8 apart?
ReplyDeleteParsons subbed back in at the 1:40 mark for Harden. When Parsons and Lin first went off, they were +4, then that went to 0 when Parsons came back in. At the end of the 1st, Parsons was at +10 while Lin was at +4, then I think Delfino got another 3 with just Parsons on the court.
DeleteAh gotcha thanks.
DeleteWow delfino 3/3 treys go man go!
ReplyDeleteSausage man!
DeleteLin back in with 8pt lead.
ReplyDeleteGuys, I'm on a plane and love this board with box scores. Cannot stream LP or use plane wifi (too slow). Thanks for your play by play.
ReplyDeleteLol delfino!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletedoing well.the floor manager is in :)
ReplyDeleteWow nice stop on Watson he is in foul trouble.
ReplyDeleteJazz falling apart.
Delfino is ON FIRE!!! Let Harden rest for a little bit more McHale please!
ReplyDeleteIf Delfino goes 5/5 for treys I'm taking back all the bad things I've said about him lol!
ReplyDeleteDELFINO!!!!! YOU'RE A 3-POINT MACHINE!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteDelfino 4/4
ReplyDeleteLin really only +4?
ReplyDelete+7
DeleteWasn't Rockets up 8 when Lin was benched?
Deleteno they were up 4 when he first got benched. They went up to 6 after.
DeleteLet's not celebrate the 3s too hard though. Can't lie and die by them!
ReplyDeleteJazz commentators giving props to Linsanity the movie saying they wanna see it, awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow smith 3 fouls already wtf.
ReplyDeleteRockets 37 Jazz 26
ReplyDeleteI love J.Lin's impact on the game... I really love it! :D
So far so good. Here comes Harden.
ReplyDeleteFking patterson hustle you could have gotten that ball back :/
ReplyDeleteyes he didnt even do some effort to go for the ball:( 54
DeleteAt this rate Harden is going to get every Jazz in foul trouble lol :D
ReplyDeleteJump ball for Lin.
ReplyDeletewow.......GO ROCKECTS
ReplyDeleteI get what Lin is doing...
ReplyDeleteToo much talent at post he's coming in to clog lane.
Did Lin win that jumpball wtf?
21/6 scoring run including that goaltend.
He didn't win it. The other guy tipped it towards the Utah side, but Delfino ninja'd it and scored.
DeleteRockets pulling away.
ReplyDeleteHarden is swishing, dishing, praying and playing on his way to the hoop. He has the throw back head to show he is praying to the lord that his ball will go into the hoop.
ReplyDeleteLol
ReplyDelete"Right now its like shooting ducks in a pond"
17pt lead.
Give me the Lintendo duck gun and I will aim for all the ducks.
Deleteeh, jlin's stat seems to have frozen. Is he being passive now?
ReplyDeleteNo he is driving the pace.
DeleteHarden is doing no playmaking and just focused on scoring and doing a great job.
Its the Lin show right now.
He is ok, a little bit slow paced. He is playing solid defense though. Harden has had a couple of easy drives down the lane so it's ok.
DeleteWOO.
ReplyDeleteLook how AMAZING this team looks with JEREMY LIN steering the ship.
LEARN SOMETHING MCHALE.
Rockets 45 @ Jazz 28
ReplyDeleteLet's go for a blow out game! Hahaha...
Good job clogging the lanes. Lin playing good defense and disrupting Jazz offense.
ReplyDeleteOh Oh. Utah's coach doesn't know what to do. Rockets need to keep this up. McHale can't bench Lin before the 2 minute mark in the second. Overall good game for Rockets the key is the paint in this game and they are doing just that. And who is doing that? Lin! :D
ReplyDeleteLin is like a mosquito, he won't let Al alone lol
ReplyDeleteJazz being greyhounded on defense by free safety Lin doubling the post and leaving Watson and Tinsley unguarded.
ReplyDeleteJazz being greyhounded on offense by dribble driving Harden penetrating at will.
Jazz backcourt no match for the Hardliners.
They're starting to cut behind Lin and getting to the rim tho, I wonder how Rox is going to adjust.
DeleteHarden is such a black hole. He's a talented player, but I don't want to watch him play.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel... he's a great athlete, and also a typical hero ball player like any other super star in the league... sigh..
DeleteYou guys kidding me?
DeleteHarden is just blowing by the lame Utah guards this game!
Asik takes 2 points away from Lin with offensive goaltending! LOL
ReplyDeleteI KNOW! At least count that shit as an assist..
DeleteAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! First he gives Lin a TO. Then he ruins Lins layup! Who needs enemies when you have friends like Ashik!
DeleteShould've been a foul on that layup.
DeleteHeavy contact on Lin ALWAYS goes uncalled in the lane by the stupid biased NBA refs.
Asik!
DeleteCommentators are trying to pronounce Asik's name and butchering it after Asik was called on an offensive goal tend on Lin's layup attempt at the hoop. If he hasn't touched it that ball would have gone in.
ReplyDeleteThank you Asik. That ball was going to go in. So, you give Lin a turnover and take away 2 points from him.... Seriously!....
ReplyDeleteI think I saw Jeremy say something to him afterward. "That was going in!"
DeleteAsik can be pretty frustrating at times. I think he gets annoyed at not being fed the ball enough even though he is no Shaq inside...
ReplyDeleteYet he complains when he gets passes.
DeleteDid I see Lin give Patterson a piece of his mind? AWESOME.
ReplyDeletePatterson gave the ball to Harden instead of Lin after a made bucket and Lin called him out during Harden's FTs.
Damn straight.
Probably not because of the pass to Harden, but because Patterson is LOAFING defensively
DeletePatterson is letting Millsap dribble past him at will and establish deep position under the rim.
Patterson needs to toughen up and play defense.
Patterson didn't run down that missed pass from Lin at all, either.
DeleteI bet it was all of those things -- "Man, get your head in the game! Not even trying to get a mistimed pass...not moving your feet on D...not getting the PG the ball..."
DeleteEither way, I'm glad Jeremy is being more VOCAL on the court. He wasn't doing that much this season.
Omg! Asik! Damn he is so stupid !
ReplyDeleteLol I love that no look layup hahaha nice Parsons
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell, Parsons got a layup and the box score says assist James Harden.
ReplyDeleteThey changed it and gave the assist to Lin. Stupid score keeper.
DeleteNow change that damn "Lin TO" to Asik where it belongs.
DeleteWithout Omer's antics, there's nothing to watch. Game is so slow.
ReplyDeleteWow go LIN!!!
ReplyDelete21pt lead
ReplyDeleteBoo birds against the Jazz!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Rockets looking good!
ReplyDeletePasons with an AIRBALL AIBALL AIRBALL!
ReplyDeleteLOL ASIK stopped passing to Lin after Lin yelled at him for goaltending his shot
ReplyDeleteHe rather lob it to Harden who was running between 3 guys...
DeleteLOL - he just passed to Lin. I dont think Asik is that sensitive :)
DeleteLOL I saw that too. Asik threw a dangerous pass into a crowd just to get the ball to Harden and ignore Lin.
DeleteThe chemistry on this Rockets team really needs some work. They're all young guys and want to be the alpha dog.
I'd be forcing the ball into Harden this game too.
DeleteThe Jazz are not doing more than token guarding Harden.
Jeremy Lin looks Asian there so he got the foul call against Burks. Lin gets a lot of those bs calls...
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's because he's Asian, but that was one shitty ass call. I watched it on replay about 4 times. Maybe from another angle?
DeleteLOL, so true.
DeleteHe's one of the best defensive guards in the entire league...but nobody can believe it. So he gets whistled for fouls instead.
I wouldn't mind if he got equal treatment on offense, but we've all seen that's not the case.
No, it's because he's Asian. It happens to white players, too.
DeleteOr even black players who aren't well-known.
Players who are "superstars" and "look athletic" get calls others don't.
I hate the non calls on offense, so much more than the defensive foul calls while he's taking a charge perfectly. My rationale is that the missed charge calls are so blatant that he gets something back, whereas I don't think he gets anything from missed fouls in his drives.
DeleteI almost feel bad for Utah :)
ReplyDeleteLin is just freelancing on team defense. Hopefully Tinsley is not heating up.
Lin just attacks the Jazz post guys at will, completely disregarding the Utah guards.
DeleteLin KNOWS he can both double the post AND contest the kickout jumpshots. Lin's DESTROYING the Jazz offense.
nasty dunk by Harden. If Harden can penetrate at will like he has been all game, I'm all for giving him the ball and letting him stroll to the basket.
Both Lin and Harden are KILLING the Jazz!
HardLin: 25 of 57 points so far.
DeleteKickass!!!
yeah KHuang, that's impressive. Almost like there were no guards to stop Lin going wherever he wants on the court!
DeleteSometimes Lin just do too much on double team and let his guy open .
ReplyDeleteHe has to in this game, I think they're taking the correct risk, he needs to help clog the lane against Jazz big men, he foiled many attempts so far and using his speed to get back to semi contest.
DeleteNo ryu, Lin is doing what he MUST do to stop Al and Millsap. However, teammates need to rotate on that last 3 play.
DeleteThat's true, but on the whole, it's been positive because the Jazz look out of sync. I think it's because Lin is helping out against the Jazz big men. But the Jazz may make adjustments in the second half so Lin better be careful.

DeleteWOWOWOWOWOW HARDEN WITH A MESSAGE!!!!
ReplyDeleteHERE COMES THE BOOM!!!!
Kenoshi: I thought you were going to comment that Lin's doing too much help defense and leaving his man wide open for a 3. I guess I have to do it for you...
DeleteHe has to in this game, I think they're taking the correct risk, he needs to help clog the lane against Jazz big men, he foiled many attempts so far and using his speed to get back to semi contest.
DeleteDamn! That was a monster dunk by Harden.
ReplyDeleteHarden with the Mc Hammer throw down to put an exclamation mark to end the half. Harden with 18 points and no TO.
ReplyDeleteDAYAAAAAMMMMMM HARDEN's dunk...
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to finish! HARDEN WITH THE SLAM! Man those Jazz fans are MAD! They have been booing since the beginning.
ReplyDeleteRockets need to bring the pace in the 3rd and finish this game.
You know, I love Lin's recruiting Al Jefferson by helping him up right after he tried to steal the ball from him!
ReplyDeleteHaha come play with me I'm a nice guy!
DeleteHaha, I loved that too. And Jefferson patted him on the back right after ("Thanks man").
DeleteBig Al does seem like a nice guy. A fun guy too. I remember when he got called for an and-one during Linsanity and he made a hilarious "OMG no way!" face. Not angry, just incredulous. To be fair, it was a make-up call for when he clearly hacked Jeremy earlier without a whistle.
Utah looks horrible..they stink on D and their bigs are slow and can't block shots.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I said before the game started!
DeleteYes you did absolutely say that. Lin always plays ok against the Utah Jazz since his rookie year.
DeleteThey have no point guards like Jeremy Lin to run the show and get Jefferson and Millsap high percentage shots.
DeleteThe fact that Al and Paul are still having great season is a testament to their super-underrated abilities.
Utah is CRAZY not to trade for a star PG. I'd call Morey right now and offer Jefferson and Millsap for Lin and Asik. Or just Millsap for Lin.
...not to mention Jeremy's Lincredible help defense to make his bigs look better on D.
DeleteIf not mistaken, Lin scored two layups using his left hand to shoot. His right side is much stronger, but he can still manage to get the job done on left.
ReplyDeleteoh man. this blowout is probably the worst thing that could happen to lin's overhelping on D issue.
ReplyDeleteto be fair, utah bigs are abusing houston's
I agree with you:
DeleteSpecifically, in this game, his overhelping has done more good than harm.
In general, I think he needs to stop overhelping, so that the public perception of his D. goes up.
Otherwise I have to spend a shit load of time breaking down stats from the opposing PG to show when points were actually scored.
DeleteI'm actually a fan of Lin's "overhelping." The overall effect really helps the team win because:
Delete1. opposing bigs can't focus and get in rhythm, always worried about the mosquito
2. Houston's bigs stay out of foul trouble
Lin's NOT OVERHELPING.
DeleteIt completely depends on this opponent.
Personally, I wouldn't waste time guarding Jamaal Tinsley and Earl Watson. Those guys can't score even with nobody guarding them!
Against other teams, Lin will stick his man. Not against this weakass Utah backcourt.
I would like to think it's a matter of discretion, and that he knows when to do so. I think up until a couple of games ago, most people were complaining that he overhelps.
Deletelin can freelance and over help because jazz is not a 3pt threat.
DeleteAGreed he is overhelping effectively today because Utah doesn't have shooters except Foye. I am talking about the majority of the games where Lin looks burned oftentimes. Lin cant' do what he does against a Steph Curry for example. It will look BAD.
DeleteI don't know what sausages they've been eating but:
ReplyDelete53/29/100 shooting and only FIVE TOs. WTF if they keep this up they might even end up with single digit TOs this game.
Wow put Lin in charge and this team fking owns. This is what I wanna watch!!!
OMG blow them out of the water and send a message: HardLin is in town!
This game is making me cream myself. D. is tight, offense is flowing. Urgh, so seamless so far.
Deletecream yourself???
DeleteThis game is boring... Utah is BAD.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte game will probably be a cake walk as well.
I cant wait for the Nuggets, Warriors, Heat, and Damian Lillard next week!
Utah is really good but HOU game plan made them really bad!
DeleteUtah beat good MIA and Pacers team in their 5-1 win streak
That's probably what everyone was thinking before the losing streak... Utah currently has a better record than Houston. Maybe not after this game though.
DeleteLoving this game! Go Lin. He's feeling it and so is the team.
ReplyDeletei think the jazz big men are not shooting well today. lets be careful bcoz they may shoot better in 2nd 1/2.
ReplyDelete"Rockets are playing...Like this is their home court"
