Rockets @ Hornets Game #45 2nd Half Game Thread

  1. James Harden with 7 TO and Lin with 2 TO and 4 steals. Way to go Lin. I wonder if McHale will pull Lin again this time?

    ReplyDelete
  2. McHale is starting TD over Beverly in this game. I wonder what he saw in the films to change his mind. Will this trend keep on or is McHale going back to his old ways again?

    1. With mchale, there is no guessing. There is absolutely no rationale in his decisions. Just watch and be amazed.

      Delete
    2. Maybe McHale saw Ty Lawson blowing by Beverley at will last game.

  3. Is it me or did Jeremy Lin lose muscle mass compared to when he was on the Knicks?

    1. I think it's an illusion. Lin's lower body got bigger, so maybe he's "lighter" proportion wise up top.

      Delete
    2. during summer he worked out to lose muscle and around 10 pounds for his knees.

      Delete
    3. He lost some weight in the off season. He also looks more sculpted. I think JLin mentioned in the preseason that McHale had them practicing harder than he ever had.

      Delete
    4. He lost fat, which makes a person look skinnier. Not muscle lol. That's the last thing you want to lose.

  4. Vasquez with only 2 points so far in this game and 2 TO. Houston guards must be playing subperb defense on him.

    1. Both Gordon and Vasquesz average about 15ppg. You sure can't tell by the box score tonight. Difference? Harden gives up more points than Lin.

      Delete
  5. Lin is back on the positive for this game so far +12 and Harden is +6. Harden's assists is almost near Lin's assist number now. WTF?

    1. He might have gotten 5asts and 5TOs playing PG in the 2nd Q

  6. I loved how PPat had a fist pump when Parsons got an and-1!

    1. Don't know. McHale may intend to let JLin play the entire 4th.

      Delete
    2. That's my question too.can someone give an answer? Is it time to rest base on mchale's time table?

      Delete
    3. It is earlier than in previous games, when JLin would be subbed out at around 3 minutes left in the 3rd.

It might be McHale staggering JLin and Harden's minutes.

      Delete
  8. I am noticing that there is more spacing in this game now than in the previous games. The Rockets players are attacking the basket and kicking out to open defenders on the wings. This is the way the offense should run. Not Harden Ball. The Rockets players must have voiced their opinions during the film session and that is why McHale is willing to at least try and change the game plan for tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Is Jeremy done for the night? You never know with this idiot team.

They already tried taking the ball out of his hands TWICE in this game alone despite the offense looking brilliant with him at the helm.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Howard Chen:

Ball swung around ALL OVER the place. Really seems like the team's just straight focusing tonight

Running, running, get the ball to the open man... McHale's philosophies are being executed. And the Rockets r up 19.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Lin's played a solid all around game. Hopefully he gets time to rest and prepare for the Nets tomorrow.

No point in playing him with a 20 point lead.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He doesn't need rest. He needs to play and gain confidence and boost his stats so McHale and Morey stop disrespecting him.

      Delete
    2. dude, they're gonna keep disrespecting lin regardless. Lin needs to have 30 30+ games in order for them to stop disrespecting him.

      Delete
    3. Heh, you're right.

But at least if he plays, we get to enjoy fun-to-watch basketball instead of boring as hell Harden-ball.

      Delete
  12. I hope I am not saying this too prematurely. But, you know the saying put up or shut up? PPat didn't shut up and he's putting up. He's deserves his swagger more than anyone else.

    Houston's spiritual team leader?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Amazing they don't pass back to Lin, especially Harden. I think he can sense Jeremy is playing well. What an A hole.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Very true. It's clear he'd rather lose and put up "Kobe numbers" than win and put up "Eric Gordon numbers."

      Delete
  14. during this losing streak, lin disappears. I don't understand.

    ReplyDelete
  15. If Houston can preserve their lead, McHell should put the bench in for some garbage minutes. Anderson and Aldrich etc. needs more looks.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Don't count on it. Knowing McHale and his idiotic thinking, he is not going to sub anybody in until there is at least 1 minute left in the game.

      Delete
    2. Yup. If we had confidence in McHell's bench rotation ability, we wouldn't be talking about it right now.

      Delete
  16. They need to get 20+ and just get NOH to quit.

    Gawd smith is fouling machine.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Smith got suckered. But, I'd like to see more Lin/Smith plays.

      Delete
  17. So they put JLin back in with under 1 minute left after the Pelicans, I mean Hornets, cut it down to 11. Is this recognition that JLin is a good D man?

    ReplyDelete
  18. LOL 2PAT PLAYING D!

    OMFG I AM SO HAPPY!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lol, did everyone hear PPat say "Gimme that" right before he blocked Rivers?

  20. Patterson owns the PnR defense rotation.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Lin is put back to fix the mistake. Lead was coming down in the 2nd Lin fixes it. Lead going down on the third, Lin in and fixes it. I hope you are picking up what I'm trying to say!

    1. Lin with 11 points and 5 steals.

    2. Correction, 13 points after that steal and lay up.

      Delete
  22. WOW - I like how they closed the 3rd quarter! Intense D!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lin leads the team with +14. Would be much higher had McHell do a better job staggering Lin and Harden's minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like how Toney is so supportive of Lin on the floor. I rarely see James run along with Lin on fast breaks.

    ReplyDelete
  25. that what we talking about man, lin all the way

    ReplyDelete
  26. Howard Chen
In fact, 6 steals is his CAREER high. So JLin is 1 off of that with a quarter to go.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lin just calms the Rockets down. Good defensive pairing with TD and JLin. Harden is instant offense. I am cool if JLin is defense, rebounds, and assists guy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Austin Rivers. "And 1" You need to make it in for an and 1 lol

  29. When lin was out, i thought it was time to sleep. When he came back even for a couple of mins. the game changed instantly. Lin does wonders to the game..Like a food, lln adds a lot of spice on it.

  30. PPatt with a double double tonight. 16 points and 11 rebounds. No Asik sighting so far in the 4th.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wow morris is just horrid on both ends today.

  32. WATCH AND LEARN MCHALE. YOU TOO MOREY.

Enough of this "we only have one star" crap. Jeremy isn't Lebron or CP3...but neither is Harden. Let J-Lin be the PG and enjoy.

    3. even LeBron has Wade, Bosh, and Battier who helped him give Miami their second ring.

this sounds farfetched but I'll be impressed if James can convince Kevin Durant to come to Rockets

      Delete
  33. I think McHell should rotate some big men off the bench now to get them some minutes with Lin, the on court coach. It will only pay off in the long run.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hey, Coach McHale shaved today. He fears the Beard no more :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh - you mean that was an symbolic act? Shaving the beard of -> shaving Harem of?

      Delete
    2. You need to shave the hair off in order to show your balls.

Actually, McHell was probably in a closed door meeting to save his job. So, he had to get himself cleaned up.

      Delete
  35. Jeremy isn't looking to score at all ever since he came in for the 4th quarter. I wonder what Coach was telling him while he was on the bench "Stop scoring points ... you're making our superstar Harden look bad with your superior playmaking."

Marcus Morris defense is making Ryan Anderson look like Dirk Nowitzki.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Terribad pass :/ Tried to be fancy.

    ReplyDelete
  37. OMG ASIK DO NOT FREAKING BRING UP THE BALL PASS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Bad PnR defense right there... can't tell who Lin was rotating with.. Oh Haren is back in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  39. HAHAHA ASIK coast to coast not quite!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Comedy of errors. Asik stole the ball, ran the full length of the court and missed the lay up. Still scoreless for the game.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Wow, Asik running the fast break.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sigh plz remove asik now plz plz plz

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lets go Lin. Finish with 20 pts

    ReplyDelete
  44. Rockets has 6 steals, 5 from jeremy; 17 TO's , 7 from harden....hhhmmmm

    ReplyDelete
  45. Man, Lin has to make those wide 3s. And Asik is a PG in a big man's body.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lin with 6 steals and Harden with 8 TOs.

  50. BACK TO HARDEN HERO BALL.

MY GOD THIS TEAM IS IDIOTIC.

    ReplyDelete
  51. REMOVE ASIK NOW!!! ITS A MIRACLE NOH DIDN'T SCORE OFF HIS TOS REMOVE HIM!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. They should sit Asik down for the remainder of the game. He is causing havoc, not scoring and committing turnovers.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jesus Christ JLin stop passing it to Asik...

    ReplyDelete
  54. So, apparently, McHell isn't reading the forum and acting on my suggestion to use the bench instead he puts in Harden and Asik... elbow-fu.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wow, that's 5 straight possessions, that resulted in either a turnover or a bad shot when the ball goes to Harden or Asik.

    2. We need Asik on D to clog up the paint, but just don't pass him the ball on O.

      Delete
  57. C'mon Harden. Be a team player. Also do not pass to Asik. He's causing your TO number to rocket too

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wth is this? TO after TO. Come on McHale, use the dam timeout to calm them down. Coach man coach. Do your job please.

    ReplyDelete
  59. what is Asik doing in the perimeter???

    ReplyDelete
  60. Right Asik! If you turn it over - at least make an opponent bleed :) 20 TOs a game - should be enough to KO all opponents.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Harden with the ball for 8 seconds and Lin on the corner again. Asik multiple TOs. This is craziness on infinite replay!

    ReplyDelete
  62. How to finish the game... Think about letting Lin control the offense. Tell the team McHale common. Harden's ISO is killing this game! BTW, I don't hate Harden, but he shouldn't hold the ball so much.

I think this game is clear as water. If the staff doesn't see what's going on and the difference between Harden controlling and Lin controlling then nothing will make them see.

    3. To me what wilc says is pretty much the heart of Linsanity vs this year. Teammates that move to the right place vs teammates who stand around and watch.

  65. Why are the Rockets making Ryan Anderson look like a slow Larry Bird?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Lin doesn't look to score at all.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Harden does not move out of the top of the key without the ball.

      lol.

  74. This is what Chick Hearn will be saying by now:

    3. Maybe the losing streak got him nervous and trembling at that thought.

      Delete
    4. I told you, McHale will never put in his bench even with a 20 point lead. He's not that smart.

      Delete
  77. And this is probably game.

    Finally.

But man Lin take some shots in 4th plz...Just because you have 50% shooting tonight with 3/6 you still need moar shots.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Ok put the bench in McHale. What did I tell you guys? That Lin would have a good game and that the Rockets will win. Was I right or what? I hope this shows McHale what was happening in that losing streak.

    1. They didn't learn jack.

They disrespected and Derek Fishered him AGAIN in the 4th...and 3rd...and 2nd.

Nothing changed. Jeremy was the game's MVP and no one will ever notice.

      Delete
    2. ok zxcvb you are exaggerating a bit. I'm a Lin's fan but let's be honest. This was a good step forward. There is still a lot to improve but is a step. I just really don't think McHale has the ability as a coach to get the best out of Harden and Lin together.

      Delete
    3. No, it's not. He's had plenty of games as good or way better than this...and it changed nothing.

Dude, don't celebrate a Harden Hero Ball win against a sub-par team on a cold-shooting night. This game could easily have been lost against a better or hotter team.

Notice how the better Lin played...the less they used him.

      Delete
  79. Lol Aldrich moves like the jolly green giant.

    ReplyDelete
  80. A Beverly and Aldrich siting. Harden was still in the game and now he is subbed out.

    ReplyDelete
  81. This team can go to hell.

The MVP of the game being disrespected and not allowed to touch the ball in the 2nd half.

He makes a TO and he's punished for the entire 4th...yeah, it's hard to find your rhythm when you don't touch the ball for ten minutes at a time.

Harden must've held the ball for 90% of the final eight minutes.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They had a 12-15 point lead, it is like putting the prevent defense on Madden. Just give the ball to Harden and play ISO ball.

      Delete
    2. Let's hope they will at least let JLin help the Rockets win the game in the first half.

      Delete
    3. What are you talking about I'm completely confuse. Lin saved the Rockets at the end of the third quarter and started the fourth. How did Lin gets punish?

      Delete
    4. Cover 2, prevent defense on Madden is never a sure thing. You have to blitz once in a while. Meaning you can't always do hero ball to win a game even it is for prevent defense.

  82. The game was fun when Harden was on the bench. After he came back, ehhhhh....

    3. @J shut the hell up ! I see where you coming from now! from your previous thread and this thread, you try to put up something! but it's not working!

    4. It took JLin only two quarters playing his natural position to get those stats. If he were allowed to play PG the whole game, I won't bet against him putting up elite numbers this season.

      Delete
    5. How old are you seriously? First you get butt hurt, because I don't praise J-Lin as a God like you do. Then days ago you make an immature post saying that you quit this forum. If you can't take honest/constructive criticism, then do everyone a favor--don't comment at all. Grow the hell up.

    4. Yah Patterson had 11 FGA at half time but it's still 11 FGA at the end of the game. So, kinda confused. Why didn't their hottest shooter have another FGA in the second half?

  86. LOL Aldrich, Bev and Anderson each got 1min play time.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Dang JLin's stats are quite yummy across the board and he only took 6 shots. Just an awesome night for a great all around game. People are either blind or just straight up racist if they don't see Lin's a great baller.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Man, Harden NEVER SHARES THE BALL at the end of the game.

He doesn't give a sh*t about rewarding his teammates. He just wants to shoot the FTs to pad his scoring stats. His EIGHT turnovers, seven in the first half, single-handedly put the Rockets in deep trouble.

And the guys who saved the game? Jeremy and Patterson? Harden told them to go to hell and let him get his. What a cancer...I feel for Jeremy and the entire Rockets team. Harden Hero Ball remains the law of the land. Go to hell, James. Take McHale with you.

  92. OK this might be a historical stat.

Winning team beats losing team by 18 points.

Winning team's leading scorer has 30 points.

Winning team's leading scorer has +/- of only +4, lowest on the entire team excluding the scrubs (including Morris).

    Only possible in McHell's world.

      nothing... without Jeremy Lin...

    2. Asik had another 0 pt game but only 6 rebounds. He had officially hit the rookie wall.

PPat stepped up his game with 18pts,13rebs so his words on Harden carried more weight.

Lin did quite well in the first 3Qs. Don't worry, he got a bit shell-shocked seeing McHale letting him play in 4Q again :)

      Delete
  93. I'm glad HOU won but they still made Harden be the PG from 2Q to 4Q except when he got benched after getting 7 TOs.

I don't see things have changed a lot. Only in the 1Q, Lin looked very confident to set up the offense.

Then Lin was back looking to defer to Harden to make plays. There was one play in 4Q when Harden looked at Lin and gave the ball back, possibly thinking "Oh yeah, you're the PG, here is the ball".

I don't know if Lin and Harden have figured out who should get the ball 70%-30% or 60%-40%. This is definitely a long process for them to play together. They still look like two PGs trying to play together.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think they have figured out that Harden will be PG most of the game. This hasn't really changed this game. Letting JLin play PG and the Rockets play team ball is just to "get everyone going" to start off the game. Once everyone feels involved, they will put the ball back into Harden's hands.

      Delete
    2. Man, you said it. Nothing changed. Jeremy was just so damn good whenever he was allowed to run the offense that he made up for Harden horrendous TOs, defense and stat-padding.

NOH made sure to collapse on Jeremy because they knew Harden would never give him the ball back...and the strategy would have worked on a better shooting night. Hey, it worked last time.

      Delete
  94. Jeremy Lin has a very good game on both ends of the floor in a Rockets win. The Bulls manhandle a good Golden State team behind some great shooting from Kirk Hinrich. Good NBA night for me.

  97. Did anyone mention Lin shut down Vasquez for this first time offensive and defensively and made him benched in the fourth!
