What did I tell you guys? I might have been chritizised because of looking too much into Lins body language but I knew this was going to happen. Check it out. It will be fun to watch Rockets again.
Announcer said lin is back in his old position. They also see the change in jeremy's position in the previous games. So far, he's been handling the ball and making plays. This might be promising for lin and team
When harden sat down after that charge, jeremy tapped his arm, i guess a gesture to console him. Jeremy shld have said, this is the only time you get benched, when u are in foul trouble. But me, i get benched for no reason.Cheer up mr beard
I still don't think that it's good to have a lineup without either Harden or Lin in. However, Lin came out with just 2 minutes so a little bit extra rest and subbed in by Parsons sounds good.
IDK. I guess it depends if I want Lin to finish the second quarter or now. I think instead of parsons it could be Harden playing two minutes into the second. Put Lin in and then put Harden back in with 6 minutes left in the second half. Or just take Harden out and start with Lin in the second quarter.
Haha, he seemed like he couldn't decide whether to finish with his right or his left. The distance and spot he jumped from is for when he would usually finish with his right hand on the left side of the rim. He timed the jump for a right handed finish, but decided to finish with his left.
I will be a little bit cautious. I don't know if McHale's plan is to have 1 quarter Lin controlling and another one Harden controlling. However, this might be the perfect example of who should be the main ball handler.
Harden has 7 TURNOVERS! And Hornets were able to catch up in the second quarter when Lin wasn't the main handler.
Lin has 2 turnovers and they were leading like by 10 in the first quarter.
I am not speaking for Harden. However, this guy is tired. McHell really screwed up his minutes. To the best interest of Lin's long term development, we need a nice playing Harden back. Do not get me wrong. Lin should be the ball handler. Yet, Lin alone will not be able to beat the pressure. If Harden is willing to share the ball, Harden may be a good company with Lin.
Harden shld be benched for the rest of the game. He has reached his quota for TO's. Lol! He might set a record for the most no of TO in a game if he will play again even for 2 mins.He would be put in the hall of shame.
The Rockets are so frickin' dumb they might turn Jeremy into Derek Fisher again starting next game. Did you see what happened already? Jeremy OWNED the first quarter. Then they took the ball OUT OF HIS HANDS for most of the second.
I know but let me enjoy the moment. Honestly, this is my honest opinion. McHale has his job on the Lin-e. He fixes it now or he is gone. He decided that is time to cut the "sparks" and do what makes sense. I just hope they take a step further and give Lin the offense reigns for whole games.
When I say that, I'm not saying Lin should get more points than Harden. Harden should be our main scorer, not our main ball handler. Let Lin do that and you will see magic happen.
Hehe, no prob. I guess it's good to be positive every now and then.
I don't think anyone here is suggesting Lin be the primary scorer -- no way. Harden is by far the best scorer on the team (one of the best in the league).
But Jeremy is the point guard so he MUST handle the ball the majority of the time.
LOL McHale did the come sit on the bench hand gesture to Harden. I'm lovin' it. And damn, Patterson can play post but I guess it's just McHale's system that wants him to spread the floor by standing at the 3pt line so Harden can drive into the rim - SO OBVIOUS THAT WHEN HARDEN WENT OUT, BALLMOVEMENT WAS SO MUCH BETTER WHICH LED TO EASY BASKETS! Only Morey and McHale don't see this.
I saw some pre season games where PP did great as PF with inside game. Dunno if it's a combination of foot injury and Harden that caused PP to shy away from the paint.
Lin had a good job so far involving PPat. I think that is what PPat called out recently. Asik on the other hand is still humbling bofoon but still did a good job on D so far as long as he is willing to come out and rotate
I'm so happy I stayed to watch this game. I knew it was going be a good one. McHale's job was in the line and he has to do what he is doing today. I hope someone "important" will notice the difference between a Lin controlled offense to a Harden controlled offense. I really like Harden don't get me wrong, but Lin is the PG.
I have no complaints on JLin's game so far. He was agressive on defense and offense. Very nice to see for a change. The team overall is doing much better. Harden still needs better recognition as to when to ISO and when not to. McHale did a great job sending him a message.
Ok Racha you need to see what's going on. Lin is not just being more aggressive. The coaches are (1st quarter and end of 2nd quarter) giving Lin the main ball handler, offense coordinator job aka PG. That's why everyone is playing better.
Lin's having a great game so far. 9 pts, 5 asts, 4 stls in 1 half. He's getting the team running and distributing the ball nicely. Also doing a nice job on Vasquez who is a very good PG.
Patrick Patterson really came to play tonight, too. He's killing NOH on the boards and outmuscling Davis.
Harden is struggling again though. 7 TOs in a half? Yeesh. At least McHale benched him. Finally.
Really? I haven't seen those two play against each other until tonight. I did noticed that Vazquez has been averaging 18.6 pts, 11 assists, and 49% shooting against HOU.
I've always liked Vazquez's game, particularly when he was playing college ball at Maryland. But yeah, JLin is playing him tough tonight.
No matter what the outcome is, it was a joy to see jeremy do what he does best.if rockets lose, we all know the reason and hopefully coaching staff gets it too and does something abt it.Well, it's not bad to dream...
Good questions from John Granato and Sean Pendergast. Some quotes from Calvin Murphy:
Granato: What happened from that time where Jeremy Lin was getting it to right now?
The problem I feel that Jeremy Lin is having when he's on the floor with James Harden, who of course is a hell of a player in his own right... Jeremy Lin is a point guard and the point guard has got to have the ball. Well, what you're having in this stretch is I believe too much monopolizing on the part of James Harden controlling the ball, where it's putting Jeremy Lin in the position of the two-guard, and that's not what he plays. Jeremy Lin is at his best when he is the orchestrator of the offense, and as of late it hasn't happened.
Pendergast: Calvin, is Jeremy just too passive from that standpoint?
It's not about (Jeremy) being too passive. It's about whoever is calling the shots for the team, and that would be Kevin McHale, making it known that Jeremy has got to have the ball in his hands.
Granato: If you take it out of James Harden's hands, that's the guy that you're building the franchise around, is he going to be able to be as effective?
He's a two-guard. What does a two-guard do? He finishes the play. I played both positions when I was in the pros. I was a point guard when I first came in (and) I moved over to the two-guard, so he's the finisher. What he's got to do is be able to finish without having the ball in his hands for eight seconds.
Granato: Patrick Patterson and his role. He seems to be another guy who is getting less time and less production. What are we going to see out of that four position for the Rockets?
If the Rockets are going to win, they're going to have to get something out of the four position, be it Patterson or Morris, and there's not enough productivity out of that position between the two of them. Now, depending on matchup situations, Patterson needs to get more inside play. He's a hell of a player, by the way. I don't think that he's seen enough of the ball when he's down low. What he's done is he's become the new era of big forwards. He's taken it out to the perimeter and he hasn't been shooting well, so his defender is not coming out with him. So if he's not shooting and not rebounding, you've got a position that's wasted.
The Roxs just doing virtually everything right on defense. It's hard to come by and hope they really remember how well they played today and carry it forward to future games.
Three to start the game. Let's go JLin and Rockets!
ReplyDeleteLin's got that stare going on.
DeleteMcHell got a cut and a shave. Hope that means he's turning over a new leaf.
ReplyDeleteI LOL'd hard.
DeleteEvery fucking player does that same fake and drive move. Why does Lin get called for traveling? Refs are retarded.
ReplyDeleteOkay they called it on Vasquez. At least they're consistent.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAll I gotta say is the Rockets are doing a really nice job today. Very balanced so far.
ReplyDeleteLets see how its gonna last. Hopefully the entire game and from that point forward.
DeleteTimeout by Monty Williams. Seems like he is worried, but still early in the game.
ReplyDeleteLin with 5 points after 4 minutes. Is he going for 50 today?
ReplyDeleteSeems like coaches are letting Lin handle the ball more this game.
ReplyDeleteSo far harden is learning hiw to pass. Hope it lasts
ReplyDeleteHe's learning that passing the ball actually opens up the driving lane.
DeleteNo help on the PnR deense.
ReplyDeleteAsik raised his arm slightly as if to acknowledge that.
DeleteHa I missed that.
Deleteso far so good
ReplyDeletenice rebound, nice pass by Lin!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone elses NBA League Pass not working for the Rockets game?
ReplyDeleteMine works.
DeleteMy NBALP is working, but it I am outside the US.
DeleteMine works. Most of the time I have to use IE browser because Chrome or Safari have glitches.
Deletemine works!
Deletethanks guys, got it working now. It came on and Delfino just did a funny little shimmy after he hit that 3 lol
DeleteTwo consecutive picks on JLin and JLin handled them with ease.
ReplyDeleteLin's teammates seem to be helping on most PnRs.
DeleteJLin turned on the turbo today.
DeleteWow, aggressive defense from JLin and team.
ReplyDeleteMy one is not loading either... other games work... bullishit it is....
ReplyDeletenice defense today!
ReplyDeleteTwo well executed traps on Vazquez contributed by JLin, forcing the his hands. One leading to a TO.
ReplyDelete*forcing the ball out of his hands.
DeleteDon't get too excited, guys. We've seen this before.
ReplyDeleteJeremy could drop 20/20 this game and it might not change anything for the next game.
And McHale might bench him in the 4th for making him look bad.
Again, don't get too up or too down this season.
DeleteThe coaches may love Jeremy as a person but they don't respect him as a player.
It's going to be a long "convincing" process that takes months or even a year or more.
Yes, McHale has to learn to trust his personnel.
DeleteWhat did I tell you guys? I might have been chritizised because of looking too much into Lins body language but I knew this was going to happen. Check it out. It will be fun to watch Rockets again.
ReplyDeleteClarification: I dont mean they wont be up and downs but you will see Lin controlling the ball more and playing PG.
DeleteJeremy out!!!! Rox will be destroyed again
ReplyDelete3 minute mark of 1st and 3rd quarters is when JLin comes out.
DeleteIts TD instead of PB in for JLin.
DeleteHarden iso mode leads to a TO.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they let Lin be the PG today!
ReplyDeleteThis will be a good game.
It's fun to see so far! :)
DeleteFunny that noone can rebound after Asik and Lin rested.
DeleteAnd Harden got 2 TOs on the offensive end.
I think players take cues from each other.
DeleteAnnouncer said lin is back in his old position. They also see the change in jeremy's position in the previous games. So far, he's been handling the ball and making plays. This might be promising for lin and team
ReplyDeletewow, that's great news!
DeleteOnce the ball leaves your hand, you can pick up your pivot foot. The refs are blind.
ReplyDeleteDriving lanes are closed again.
ReplyDeleteThey've got one guy on the ball, another perimetre player waiting near the top of the key.
DeleteI think to beat that, the Rockets player left open has to cut through.
Yup, seems like 3 guys are at or the paint at all times since Lin got benched.
DeleteDelfino just had an orgasm making that 3
ReplyDeleteReally want hornets to win..... please get fired McFale
ReplyDeleteDouglas the first off the bench. Much more energy by the team this game on both sides of the court.
ReplyDeleteLin with 5pts/4asts in 1 quarter, on track for 15pts/12asts in 3 quarters :)
ReplyDeleteWhen harden sat down after that charge, jeremy tapped his arm, i guess a gesture to console him. Jeremy shld have said, this is the only time you get benched, when u are in foul trouble. But me, i get benched for no reason.Cheer up mr beard
ReplyDeleteI still don't think that it's good to have a lineup without either Harden or Lin in. However, Lin came out with just 2 minutes so a little bit extra rest and subbed in by Parsons sounds good.
ReplyDeleteAgree. McHell should stagger minutes that at least 8 minutes Lin can play without Harden.
Deleterockets are really going with chandler parsons. keeping him more mins on the floor. i can't understand.
DeleteIDK. I guess it depends if I want Lin to finish the second quarter or now. I think instead of parsons it could be Harden playing two minutes into the second. Put Lin in and then put Harden back in with 6 minutes left in the second half. Or just take Harden out and start with Lin in the second quarter.
DeleteHmm... still some unforced TO's and undisciplined fouls.
ReplyDeleteTD got too excited playing PG again
DeleteThank God Lin is back
ReplyDeleteJLin back in early at 9.30 mark.
ReplyDeleteHow the hell did lin blow a huge open lay up. smh
ReplyDeleteHaha, he seemed like he couldn't decide whether to finish with his right or his left. The distance and spot he jumped from is for when he would usually finish with his right hand on the left side of the rim. He timed the jump for a right handed finish, but decided to finish with his left.
DeleteGood PnR defense with Smith giving help.
ReplyDeleteLin needs to make those easy layups for his teammates to trust him!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes must be tricking me. 4 assists and 3 steals already?
ReplyDeleteHe's on pace for a triple double with 10 steals.
DeleteNice aggressive drive by JLin to draw the foul on the floor.
ReplyDeleteFollowed by good one on one D on Vazquez forcing the miss.
DeleteFollowed by aggressive take to the rim on the fast break.
Unfortunately he missed a pair at the line.
Lin isn't focused out there. Missed an open layup and then two free throws. Did that bench time cool him down?
ReplyDeleteLin just did something weird just before missing that second free throw... can't tell whether he's trying to loosen up or something else...
DeleteEric Gordon just missed a pair at the rim as well. Happens even to the best of them. :)
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteNot only Jeremy steals hearts of fans, he's also expert in stealing balls... already 3 STEALS in the 2nd quarter. Nice!
ReplyDeleteHouston's Valentine promo copy writing? Lady's night with Lin, he will steal your heart.
Deletealready stolen. lol
DeleteI was just going to say there's no way Lin was going to give Asic an interior pass ... and he did.. and TO...
ReplyDeleteAsik has weak hands. He needs to pull that thing down while jumping towards the rim. JLin led him with the pass perfectly.
DeletePull that thing down? Asic looked like he was waving hello to Lin.
DeleteLin is not camping out in the corner this game.
ReplyDeletestop passing the ball to asik! don't pass to him unless there is NO ONE on him! Gahd.
ReplyDeleteYou know I swear Asik caught those passes early in the season...
DeleteAsic, catch the ball with two hands!
DeleteDave T, 3 guys were collapsing on Asik, there's no way Asic was going to catch that one. Lin gave Asik way too much credit.
DeleteNice strip by JLin on Gordon on the fast break!
ReplyDeleteHarden on pace for 20 TO.
ReplyDeleteHarden has 7 turnovers, but will McHale bench him? Nope.
ReplyDeleteAnd you wonder why he's losing this team.
Harden needs to pass the ball!
ReplyDeleteMcHell should've just benched Harden right there. He let Davis walk pass him into the lane for a FG.
ReplyDeletehero ball again.
ReplyDeleteGordon don't be so mean!
ReplyDeleteGordon just humiliate Harden now, that is not according to NBA agenda lol
DeleteCompletely faked out Harden. Parsons should have rotated over, but didn't. It forced Asik to come over, leaving Davis wide open.
DeleteWill harden get 10plus TO tonight? Lol
ReplyDelete7 turn overs for harden already is that right??
ReplyDeleteAt this rate hes gonna end up with 15
DeleteLOL, ROCKETS.
ReplyDeleteMore Harden Hero Ball ruining the game after Linsanity gave them the lead.
Harden is killng the team with TO's. Did i hear it right? 7 already this early? Shouldnt he be benched now????
ReplyDeleteHis defense is awful too.
DeleteHis acting is awful too.
DeleteGood job by McHale. Harden benched.
ReplyDeleteHalftime Analysis:
ReplyDeleteI will be a little bit cautious.
You do the math, nothing else to analyze.
Amen!
DeleteHARDEN GOT BENCHED!!!???? WOW WOW WOW!!!! IS THIS A DREAM!?
ReplyDeleteSorry, just surprised.
DeleteI can't agree more. I like Harden, but he should be the main ball handler that's it. That's what we have been saying since the beginning.
DeleteWow harden how is he an all star playing like this? McHale should call time out sooner.
ReplyDeleteCommentator: Asik is not a threat.
ReplyDeleteThat's true. His offense game needs a lot of refinement. He's a great rebounder and huge body in the paint.
DeleteHopefully Lin stops with the tough passes to him.
Lin Ball! The team is more settled now Harden on the bench. Finally a little bit of accountability
ReplyDeleteYeah "settled" really describes it well, the effect Lin has on the team.
DeleteHarden shld be benched for the rest of the game. He has reached his quota for TO's. Lol! He might set a record for the most no of TO in a game if he will play again even for 2 mins.He would be put in the hall of shame.
ReplyDeleteIf this were a Rockets home game, Clyde would be commenting Harden is an All Star leading the league with points and totally ignore the TO stats.
DeleteI believe you. That guy is nonsense. He shld be talking to some moron like himself .
DeleteWill Sampson take over the coaching after the break. So far McHell with the shave and haircut is not such a bad coach.
ReplyDeleteLook at this guys. Look at this. Oh man, I'm so happy I'm going to cry! :D THIS is how it should have been from the beginning!
ReplyDeleteDon't get excited man.
DeleteThe Rockets are so frickin' dumb they might turn Jeremy into Derek Fisher again starting next game. Did you see what happened already? Jeremy OWNED the first quarter. Then they took the ball OUT OF HIS HANDS for most of the second.
THE COACHES & HARDEN NEVER LEARN.
DeleteWhen I say that, I'm not saying Lin should get more points than Harden. Harden should be our main scorer, not our main ball handler. Let Lin do that and you will see magic happen.
Hehe, no prob. I guess it's good to be positive every now and then.
DeleteI don't think anyone here is suggesting Lin be the primary scorer -- no way. Harden is by far the best scorer on the team (one of the best in the league).
But Jeremy is the point guard so he MUST handle the ball the majority of the time.
WHAT A "COINCIDENCE."
ReplyDeleteLin-led offense...builds lead.
Harden-led offense...collapses.
Lin-led offense...retakes control.
Watch Houston trade Harden by the trading deadline for a real PF or C. Well, one can dream.
DeleteMan, if Lin can be paired with a good PF like Millsap and just make harden a real SG this team will be extremelly good.
DeleteI would trade Harden for Vucevic and Afflalo (or Redick) in a heartbeat.
DeleteThis team would be a dangerous 4th/5th seed. Not a title contender, but fun as heck and promising for years to come.
LOL McHale did the come sit on the bench hand gesture to Harden.
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' it.
DeleteHarden is such a punk...as a player anyway.
DeleteIt's not like he was being frozen out by Lin -- in one quarter, he had 9 points on 3/3 shooting! And lots of energy left for defense.
But no, he wants the assists and glory, too. He's really like Melo. Easy-going even nice guy off the court, but a maniacal glory-hog on the court.
Lol harden lookin bad he loses lead lin takes over after he gets the bench and lin stretch lead to 8 again.
ReplyDeleteLin had a good job so far involving PPat. I think that is what PPat called out recently. Asik on the other hand is still humbling bofoon but still did a good job on D so far as long as he is willing to come out and rotate
ReplyDeleteSo we now know who was losing the games for the Rockets.
ReplyDeleteBut, Harden is still a valuable scoring threat and we need him to finish off of JLin's play-making if we want another win streak.
No harden hero ball ,more chance to win game.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy I stayed to watch this game. I knew it was going be a good one. McHale's job was in the line and he has to do what he is doing today. I hope someone "important" will notice the difference between a Lin controlled offense to a Harden controlled offense. I really like Harden don't get me wrong, but Lin is the PG.
ReplyDeleteOh yea tonight gon be a good night. Jeremy is cooking buckets
ReplyDeleteI have no complaints on JLin's game so far. He was agressive on defense and offense. Very nice to see for a change. The team overall is doing much better. Harden still needs better recognition as to when to ISO and when not to. McHale did a great job sending him a message.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the whole team played D. So, Lin didn't have to turn on his NOS to keep up with his man.
DeleteOk Racha you need to see what's going on. Lin is not just being more aggressive. The coaches are (1st quarter and end of 2nd quarter) giving Lin the main ball handler, offense coordinator job aka PG. That's why everyone is playing better.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Deletejp2123, I noticed JLIn has been handling it more too. We got 2Pat to thank for that.
DeleteEtane, That's true. JLin also fought through screens well and stayed in front of his guy. I'm very happy!!!
DeleteOnce Asik came out, Lin had no problem keeping in front of his man. Smith gave Lin lots of help.
DeleteOh Cara, taking one for the team.
ReplyDeleteLol aye, the sacrifice will not be in vain, thank you Cara
DeleteLin's having a great game so far. 9 pts, 5 asts, 4 stls in 1 half. He's getting the team running and distributing the ball nicely. Also doing a nice job on Vasquez who is a very good PG.

ReplyDeleteI think les got pissed and slapped morey around how else is mchale coaching so different now?
ReplyDeleteWell, McHell did shave his "beard" off. Maybe in more ways than one.
DeleteCalvin Murphy speaks the truth. (who is Calvin Murphy--- http://www.nba.com/history/players/murphy_summary.html )

I KNOW THE SOLUTION to Lin's woes:
ReplyDeletehave Les Alexander coach the team!
Seriously, I wonder if that guy knows more about basketball than the people he hires.
Heck, just let Lin coach the Team. Pete Rose was a player coach. So can Lin be one too.
DeleteKhuang
DeleteYou are seriously funny....hahah
NOOOO, don't let Lin coach the team.
DeleteHe'll bench himself every time he misses a shot!!!!
He's meek but he ain't stupid! LOL
DeleteThat commentator knows nothing what he is talking about. "Lin is trying to convince McHale to keep him in the 4th." Lol please....
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteCommentator: I don't see Lin as a steals guy.

DeleteCommentator -> blind
DeleteHarden missed a WIDE OPEN LIN then LOST the ball.
ReplyDeleteWOW. This pairing is not going to work.
Was the game plan at half time to give it to Asik? Stop passing it to him unless he is wide open under the basket!!!
ReplyDeleteOmg! Will asik get better? No!
ReplyDeleteWow, 2Pat. We're seeing some contribution from the PF position today. 2nd chance put backs from 2Pat, LOL.
ReplyDeleteHow many times have Houston trapped the ball handler today?
ReplyDeleteGood team defense today.
DeleteThe team should play with this type of intensity consistently.
DeleteThey are also rotating well to trap the penetrating guard.
DeleteThe defense is Linsanity. Offense? Just good.
DeleteThe Roxs just doing virtually everything right on defense. It's hard to come by and hope they really remember how well they played today and carry it forward to future games.
DeleteLove the balance attack so far and it's the 3rd quarter. Lets keep it up Roxs.
ReplyDelete2Pat is a monster on the boards this game. 5 offensive rebounds.
ReplyDeleteSo, maybe Houston doesn't have a PF problem but a SG problem all along.
DeleteHe backed up his open criticism with almost a double-double 16pts 9rbs!
DeleteI would consider hustle plays only. Talent wise it's still lacking.
DeleteNew Thread Guys!
ReplyDeleteDamn.. Looks like McFale gets to keep his job.. for now.
ReplyDeleteThe Hornets look turrible.
ReplyDeleteregarding Lin: why does the second half look so different from the first half?
ReplyDeleteYESSS GO HORNETS!
ReplyDeleteBenche HARDEN in the 4th
