  5. Looks like typical discombobulated Rockets basketball. Lin got a traveling turnover after crossing half court and two guys called for the ball. Lin couldn't decide who to give it to and shuffled his feet.

  6. NBA league pass free preview this week.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Beverly take shot as soon as he gets in, why can't Lin do that

    ReplyDelete

    1. Because Lin's long jumpers are no good. Usually when Lin misses the first jumper, that means 10 or less points for the game.

      Delete
    2. Yeah but why can't he drive to basket

      Delete
  8. Again, sitting TD. Rockets' coaches owe an explanation to TD.

    ReplyDelete
  9. if nothing major changed, the way Rox played the losing streak will extend to 8 games...

    ReplyDelete
  10. A lose today would be an epic fall.

    ReplyDelete
  11. In all honesty, Bobcats' players seem more talented to me. Really.

    ReplyDelete
  12. McHale brings in Aldrick instead of Greg Smith... why?

Beverley hits a 3 so that was a smart move. He's still gunning for Lin's minutes.

    2. Haha, that makes sense. :)

  13. Come on bring in Lin, it's 3:30 AM and I need to see him LOL

    ReplyDelete
  14. Lin seems to have trouble getting around Kemba Walker. However, Beverley is looking decent against Ramon Sessions.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Let's be fair. Beverly ain't bad player; he's at least getting some points.

    1. TD must be suffering. He's saying "What did I do to deserve this?"

      Delete
  16. Beverley has 5 points already.lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. End of 1Q and Harden is struggling again (1-6 FG due to fatigue?) and HOU is having trouble stopping Bobcats. 6TOs already for HOU vs 1 TO for Bobcats. Not looking good.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Darn, where's JLin?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Beverly gets to play without Harden, so Rockets are playing better.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Harden is really hurting the Rockets out there with missed layups and blocked shots. Sessions is outplaying Beverley out there.

How long is McHale going to sit Lin??

    ReplyDelete
  21. If they lose to this bobcat ,they are done.

    ReplyDelete
  22. WOW, Lin was wide open at the 3 point line and Harden totally ignored him. They have no faith in Lin's shooting.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ohh well! I see Lin is not attacking or shoot.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Walker is going to end up with near 30 points. Lin has a hard time keeping up with him.

    ReplyDelete

    1. You're just eating up what the commentators keep saying. Lin got no help with the PnR defense at all

      Delete
    2. Lin is giving too much space for Kemba. If this keeps up, TD might make his appearance soon.

      Delete
    3. Do you guys even see just how wide the screens Biyambo sets?

      Delete
  25. Lin stole the ball and assisted to Delfino on a fast break, they gave the assist to Harden!!

He gets SCREWED every game, it's ridiculous

    ReplyDelete
  26. Asik have been doing a terrific job to make Lin look bad. That is something special

    ReplyDelete
  27. lol at this game. same old story. screen every time against the rockets. lin gets no screens in return.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jeremy Lin continues ,its so frustrate to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm tired of Jeremy playing team D when the rest of his sh*t team plays no D.
Jeremy should realize every PG wants to light him up, STOP playing help D, just guard your man and don't leave him. He gives up too many open 3's and wastes energy. Also SHOOT more, be more SELFISH like the rest of his team

    .

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Jeremy playing D because he knows it's important for them to win games. He continue to say many times in his post video, defense, defense. Just read the newspaper, and he mentions that again. Probably because no one is playing D, so he is the one to step up.

      Delete
    2. Many analytics company track stats including defense. Lin makes himself look BAD when he gives his player wide open looks all game. Lin wastes so much energy guarding two players all the time, running back and forth. First it doesn't work. Either shooter shoots over 50%. Second, he gets exhausted and it hurts his offensive game. Finally, all the stats of him guarding his guy look bad because he gives too many open 3 pointers to his guy. He needs to guard HIS guy and shut him down, period. Be more SELFISH

      Delete
    3. if that's the case, then why can't the coach tell him, Jeremy, you need to stop doing that? do you think the coach didn't notice that? When it comes to be selfish, if other teammates can be less selfish, that will even better than jeremey being more selfish. Didn't people always said it's a team sport? Jeremy is just try to play more like a good teammate than everybody else.

      Delete
  30. uhm, lin just got blocked twice, in a row.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They are teeing off on Lin. Keyed to block him and he can't shoot. Lin has no other ways to score. Kimba is fast.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jeremy's having trouble with Biyombo's length. Need to pull up a short jumper to keep him guessing.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Biyombo is too good of a shot blocker. Lin needs to start shooting.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeap, even if his shooting is inconsistent. He has to adjust. That's what I mean.

      Delete
  34. 0/4 got block 2 times 1 fade away air ball.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Beverly to the rescue. If he does good this game and Rockets win, I think you will see Lin's minutes go down to 25 per game soon.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not only that, Beverlysanity will take over and JLin will get sent down to the d-league.

      Delete
    2. The way he is playing today he needs time in D league.

      Delete
  36. Lin is looking like a scrub out there.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You mean scrubs like Novak and Schump? I wish.

      Delete
    2. He might play his way out of the league if he doesn't get it together.

      Delete
  37. How would a point guard feel when the defense gets a rebound and don't pass the ball to the point guard?

And bad day for JLin gets worse. Shoots up an airball, then gets blocked by Biyambo twice.

    ReplyDelete
  38. wow! at this rate we may not see Lin play again... really no love and support from the coaching staff, team mates, even the sportscaster... tougher days to come for Lin #heartbreaking

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think coaches will put him back with 5 minutes to go in 4th with Rockets down 10. They really do not deserve to win this game. They are simply put, a TO machine.

      Delete
  39. Let's not blame everything on the coaches; Rockets' players are just not that good. Talent wise, if you ask me which team I rather choose and coach, I rather choose Bobcats, to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sigh Lin has regressed really badly this game.

He is back to his old habit of overhelping. Stick to your man Lin for goodness sakes let others worry about their D so they get exposed, helping them constantly just makes them lazy.

If Rox gets beat by Bobcats the season is over.

  42. I thought the game with the Minny was the rock bottom..

    ReplyDelete
  43. no screens for harden or lin. same ole same ole.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The best thing for Lin right now is to get traded. The problem is, does anyone want him?

    ReplyDelete
  45. MIN is doing well against ATL also right now. I am not even sure Rockets can trade Lin to any other NBA team now. It will be sad if Lin gets benched in Rockets team, and Rockets team will end up with an egg on their face.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yup. Benching Lin would send his already low trade value down the toilet. But McHale is desperate to keep his job and nothing would surprise me.

      Delete
    2. jeesus, is this a Lin fan site or a hater site? The Rockets have basically screwed Lin over by getting Harden at the last moment. You think Lin would have signed with Houston if he knew they'd get Harden to play his position?

      Delete
    3. It's not a hate site and we aren't haters. But being delusional and out of touch with reality doesn't help anybody.

      Delete
    7. People like you that are so called 'fans'-- can't accept the truth. He's a great player but when he plays like sh*t, he plays like sh*t. When he plays great, he plays great. People like you is what makes me NOT want to come on this site. People knock on 'haters' coming on this damn forum about speaking their own mind. I guarantee more than half the users on this site are Asian, including myself. But damn most of you are borderline oblivious or just plain ignorant.

  48. this team is run completely the wrong way. seems like everybody is a pg according to mchale. something wrong with jeremy lin, this is NOT the guy that drops 38 on lakers and on spurs earlier this season. honestly i think the only way for him to play at the top of his game is to lead like he did in ny.. every player on the team serve as his subordinates including james harden. but i think thats something that should be easy to do for harden since he used to play thunder next to westbrook and durant. james harden will still be the leading scorer but plays will be made off lin. problem now is every rocket thinks they're a leader who create their own plays, they need to respect him as the court leader and trust his decisions.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No NBA team is going to have all players serve as his "subordinates" under Lin. He ain't going to get that kind of chances again, so he has to rise out of this.

      Delete
    2. harden also need to stop stopping the ball standing there like he thinks hes jordan back in the day

      Delete
    3. right. JLin is playing confused and out of synch because he doesn't know what his role is. I don't think anyone does.

      Delete
    4. they did in ny, and it worked. they did in the spurs game and they actually came closer to beating them in any other games they had with HARDEN OUT

      Delete
    5. I think that is what Coaches want anyway, one center and four PGs...maximum spacing possible.

      Delete
    6. what happens when they trust him to lead is that he makes every player on the team play at their max potential. until someone disturbs that flow, and right now harden is that guy much the same as melo back in ny

      Delete
    7. Why is it Lin's fate to play with the league's worst ball stoppers wherever he plays?

      Delete
    8. Lin's just gotta play selfish.

His teammates are freezing him out, so that gives him license to do whatever he wants.

It's time for Lin to go against his team first nature and do the "Russell Westbrook": look for his own shot first and worry about passing only when he can't shoot.

On defense, there's not much more Lin can do when his teammates are leaving him out there all alone.

      Delete
    9. "what happens when they trust him to lead is that he makes every player on the team play at their max potential."

and it is very fun to watch too. should add that too. Rox games nowadays? too boring to watch.

      Delete
    10. I have been saying waht KHuang is saying above 25 games ago. That's why I keep on saying there is nothing he can do but take 15 shots per game.

      Delete
    11. They did in NY for less than 10 games when everyone was injured.

      Delete
    12. darluskang, that's why I want Harden to get flu.

      Delete
    13. Roberlin, this is the NBA.

EVERY team is FILLED with ballstoppers. There's nothing inherently bad about being a ballstopper, especially in the NBA where any kind of motion scheme can be stopped by good team defense.

Lin will learn how to become a ballstopper himself!

      Delete
    14. lol @ harden standing there with the ball clueless

      Delete
  49. The problem is Lin has no confident if he missed the first couple shots.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I think Rockets will win this game, and nothing will change. I actually wish Rockets would lose this game, so that some major change will be made.

    ReplyDelete
  51. mcfail made a defensive adjustment that hedges against kemba's screens? color me shocked.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Jeremy only averages 10 shots a game, he needs to average more like 15 shots a game. About 4 shots a quarter. That would give him good scoring rhythm. His usage also needs to go up, right now it's below 20%, in NY it was over 25%. Also, double the number of pick and rolls called for him

    ReplyDelete
  53. I started to think maybe its me that Rox are loosing? Almost every game I fully watched, they lost....

    ReplyDelete

  55. dammit beverly go away keep sitting on the bench

    ReplyDelete
  56. Jeremy doesn't have the athleticism to create his own shots at least not against the Cats. So, it would only hurt him if he starts becoming selfish.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think his problem is that he's not a very creative one on one player. That, combined with his shaky jumper, really limits what he can do offensively. He's highly dependent on the screen and roll game and this Rockets offense is an every man for himself freelance type of system.

      Delete
    2. Don't say that here, or KHuang will stuff you. Lin can still drive, stop and create some short jumpers for himself. I think even that long jumper by Lin was counted as a 2, not 3. Darn.

      Delete
    3. If Houston's offense can spread the Cat's defense, then I'd agree with your eb5. However, currently, even if Jeremy beats his man, there's two more bigs ready to swat his layups.

      Delete
    4. Huh?

      Who am I gonna stuff?

In the NBA, there is actually no such thing as true 1 on 1 play.

At the least, teammates have to get out of the way to open up driving lanes. Lin's teammates don't even do that because they DON'T CARE.

Lin's actually going 1 on 3 most of the time.

      Delete
    5. if what he said is true, khuang won't have any problem with that. the problem is, is it true?

      Delete
  57. You know it's bad when Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions are badly outplaying you.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They are pretty good one on one players.

      Delete
    2. In all honestly, if they played one on one with Lin up to 11, they would both beat Lin 11 to 5.

      Delete
    3. both ramon and walker have chances to touch the ball and create...unlike lin

      Delete
    4. No screens for Lin offensively, no plays run for Lin period.

      No help for Lin defensively.

He's out there BY HIMSELF. Lin's coaches and teammates have abandoned him.

No player can score in the NBA alone, and no player can defend in the NBA alone.

I actually sympathize with people who feel Lin is playing poorly. Lin's situation has devolved to the point where he cannot possibly succeed, though I blame the situation and not so much Lin.

      Delete
    5. The sad thing is even if Lin went to a lousy team like Bobcats, Lin would not be in a better situation because even Bobcats have some players who think they are superstars and jacking up shots left and right. At least in Houston, there is only one player like that, Harden, who is much better player than those in Bobcats offensively.

      Delete
    6. I agree with what you say KHuang. What do you think Lin should do in this situation? Just jack up 15 shots or take as few shots and try to pass?

      Delete
    7. Understand, eb5attorney, that I am TOTALLY WITH YOU on this game.

The answer to your question is I DON'T KNOW.

Defenses are basically playing Lin 1 on 3, at the least. The incompetent Rockets big men are left alone and teams block Lin's driving lanes in the midrange.

Lin is jammed at the 3 point line, left to shoot open shots with the clock running out (not ideal for ANY shooter). His drives are met by shotblocking resistance. His teammates don't cut well and score even more poorly. They can't even catch the ball and dunk it.

Jeremy Lin has more basketball knowledge in his pinkie than I have in my decades of watching NBA ball. If there is something to be done, he's doing it. But no player, not even Michael Jordan, could consistently beat defenders going 1 on 3.

      Delete
  58. Made a jumper, running hard on D, and now got benched. How the hell is Lin going to get in rythm for offense? Looks like he's not even into it at all. He doesn't even want to bring the ball up. Something gotta change to bring that passion back for JLin or else it's going to be boring basketball.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The Rockets refuse to set any picks for Jeremy. They refuse to let him handle the ball.

They refuse to respect him no matter how well he performs. Then they blame him for not producing...how can he produce without any picks, plays or regular touches?

HE'S THE GODDAMN POINT GUARD, LET HIM RUN THE DAMN OFFENSE.

To hell with these idiots...they're only hurting themselves by ignoring JL's talents.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. look at the way both sessions and walker have opportunities to handle the ball and create.....look at how effective it is..rockets suck balls. ugly ass jerseys, horrible fans, etc.

      Delete
    2. Jeremy just doesn't fit this system. A guy like Kemba Walker or Mo Williams would do fine. Jeremy needs to be somewhere where he can run the show. Maybe all those people saying he's a product of the Dantoni system were onto something.

      Delete
    3. yeah...it's more and more evident..jeremy isn't going to jook and cross you over...he needs a team that relies on screens and big men. not play on a team with a bunch of guards.

      Delete
    4. I have been saying from the beginning that Ln cannot jook and cross you, i.e., one on one moves. Spurs or Pacers are the ideal type of teams. In short, Lin will excel only in a very few NBA teams which even have some support system AND (a big if) who likes the way Lin plays. Most NBA teams will not do that.

      Delete
    5. Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions would do even more poorly than Lin were they on the Rockets.

They would suddenly discover what it's like to be jumped on by opposing shotblocking bigs who need not respect the Rockets "big men" that cannot score inside.

Lin has way more direction changing moves with the ball than both those guys put together, but it doesn't make a difference if shotblocking big men are in his path whether he goes left or right.

      Delete
    6. Well if Harden got blocked that many times, I guess Lin will be blocked easily too.

      Delete
    7. Harden's playing WORSE than Lin, by far.

The only boxscore saving grace to James Harden is that the refs give him superstar free throws while Lin gets illegally bashed.

Both of the Rockets studs have been SHUT DOWN by their teammates incompetence.

Neither Harden nor Lin can win playing 2 on 5.

      Delete
    8. Been saying that lin's handles are not good enough to shake anyone. Quick first step, but needs screens, or be out in transition. But with man in front pressuring, you hardly ever see a crossover, a step back, or drive and pullup (midrange shot). He needs so many conditions, situations to line up in his favor. So what do you have with him? Team first attitude (which doesnt help his cause), above average court vision, decent d, and can take it to the hoop. Otherwise right now can't create his own shot, terrible jumper, not consistently aggressive.

      Delete
    9. Wildathrill, the solution is to GET BIG MEN that actually know how to play.

Harden and Lin are struggling because their teammates in the frontcourt are playing terribly.

Any coaching change, even replacing the coaches, won't change the fact that Houston's big men cannot make opponents pay for jamming Lin and Harden.

      Delete
  60. lol beverly gets 3 screens on 3 straight posessions. with the obligatory asik fumble.

You're one of Lin's biggest fans, probably more than even me!

We know HOW GOOD Jeremy Lin is, even if the odds are continually stacked against him. He's playing as well as he can despite the worst NBA situation I've ever see a player go through.

As far as people that dislike Lin, that's all good too. As long as they respect those of us who like Lin, we can respect them right back.

She's a true Lin fan who's just frustrated with people who are not Lin fans. End of rant.

Like lydia, I am enjoying the ups AND downs of Lin's career. This is the NBA and every player goes through really hard times.

  62. Trade idea: Pau Gasol for Lin (and others to make the numbers work, ideally one of their young PF's)

Lin is D'Antoni's ideal floor general, he would save D'Antoni again. Rockets would get their PF.

    1. Lin won't save DAntoni.

The Lakers have a BAD TEAM outside of their starters. They're old too, and banged up.

    5. It's so frustrating to watch Lin running around to do help defense yet his teammates not doing anything.

    6. Lin is conditioned to help out on defense, so it's hard for him to stop helping out. He has always plays the right way because of his belief. Sometimes I wish he doesn't use what would "Jesus do in this situation" motto. Sorry if I offense any Christians out there.

    who would you rather lead?

  77. Lin should attack and set himself free and have breakout game soon. I believe he WILL! He alway deliver when against the wall

  78. For several game the coaches have a rotation where they staggered Harden and Jeremy's time on the court. The results were very promising. When Jeremy was leading the charge, they ran plays, screens, and get lots of ball movement. However, during this losing streak Jeremy plays with Harden majority of the time. Harden normally will park himself at the top of the key and his defender stays with him, so half the court is blocked for a Jeremy. When Jeremy try to drive or drawing more defenders, Harden don't cut to the basket either, so Harden's man can easily help with defense. Obviously no or bad PnR in the offense either.

My view is simple, BAD COACHING.

  79. who cares. bench lin. then trade him please!

  80. He didn't look pissed to me. Just kinda lost.

  81. The Houston players would rather play with Patrick Beverley than Jeremy Lin.

Jeremy Lin has been abandoned by his team.

It's the dumbest thing I've seen, but that's NBA basketball.

Let's see how Jeremy Lin responds in practice and in games. He's a warrior, he's not going to lie down so easily.

    4. That's a multifaceted question, livyrlife.

Since I myself am concerned only with the basketball reason, my suspicion is that Lin's teammates are angry with him for not getting them the ball through the traps and thus have frozen him out on both ends.

What those teammates don't realize is that it's THEIR FAULT for not having game, and that's why defenses are stopping Lin from even completing those bailout passes.

  82. I think Beverly did really well today as a complimentary guard to Harden. Simply a good role player with good matching skill sets and good "low" salary for a Harden centric offense.

If I am the Rockets' GM I will keep Beverly and trade Jeremy. However, look at all those advertising revenue and media attention, if I am the owner, I will fire the coaches and find ways to play Jeremy. "Set Free Jeremy"!

  83. Maybe the coach should try utilizing Lin more to provide a spark off the bench, especially if he struggles more in the first quarter. I agree that Harden and Lin in at the same time is no bueno. If preference is given to Harden, especially to start, then let Harden start the first unit with Beverley or Toney, and bring Lin in to play with Beverley or Toney. Seems like Harden is the crutch and savior though, so any rotation will almost always include Harden in it.

  84. why don't they just start beverly if they are looking for a stand still three point shooter and passer. whats the point of playing lin if you aren't catering towards his strenth

  85. So, what caused Houston to all of a sudden play defense as a team?

Love it or hate it but Beverly put the ice in Houston's veins in the 4th with his hustle plays.

Houston's shooters gone unconscious in the 4th too.

But, keep in mind, it's the Bobcats.

    1. No wonder Bobcats suck: Rockets were giving the game away. :) I guess Beverly's prayer to find a good NBA team worked. Seems like Beverly is also a Christian.

    2. Simple.

      Lin is being FROZEN OUT.

Beverley can maneuver because he's not scouted yet. So OF COURSE he can get the ball to people and thus they start playing defense.

Now once defenses load up on Beverley, then the Rockets defense will disappear because guys will be mad that Beverley cannot get them the ball.

    3. Agreed. Same story when Lin went crazy with the Knicks last season. Nobody knew much about him so they didn't know what to expect. He could exploit them night and day, but now that teams have studied up on him, they know what to expect.

Nobody knows much about Beverley, but they will. And once they do, they'll have a much harder time slipping by on games like these.

  86. I just came out of the game and I have a lot of comments to make. It will be probably a wall of text but I will give an analysis of the game later today. At the end I wanted the bobcats to win honestly.

    1. Wrong. Lin played well in the third quarter, helped the team get back in the game. Then, his reward for playing well? Never coming back in.

  88. about people saying Lin looked "scared", "lost", i think it's just his facial expression when he doesn't smile which i'm really missing, he just looked expressionless but people would just describe that as whatever they perceive.

    1. Lin SHOULD BE feeling lost.

He has teammates that won't cooperate with him. He has coaches that want him to create for those uncooperating trammates. He's being blamed for Rockets losses. He's getting triple teamed any time he dribbles past the 3 point line.

Lin cannot beat all this by himself, but people expect him to.

  89. Terrible game for Jlin. He has difficulty guarding small PG.:(
The team should help him on D whenever there is a smaller PG. They finally did that in 3rd quarter and it worked well...but then they pulled him out for whatever reason I don't know. My guess was he wasn't offensively aggressive enough.

He definately needs to be more aggressive in the 1st quarter....I thought he was going to come out strong but he didn't...I was kinda disappointed with his start...I was really hoping he would play angry!!! He only seem to play better in the 2nd half for some reason....He really need to play like that in 1st quarter and start setting the tempo!!

  90. A very strange game today. Bobcats with many more free throws, Rockets with numerous travelling violations (Cats none), Aldrich only has to shuffle to be called a foul when defending... yet in the end the full arena was lifeless - almost as if the home crowd was embarrassed with the officiating.

Most worse was the quick walk to the dressing room by the Cats after the game, the lack of sportsmanship. Not surprisingly the trolls here and CF have shown more life than the crowd.
