ockets vs Nuggets Game #44 2nd Half Game Thread

  1. Jeremy Lin, our primary ball handler tonight. Seems like Harden has great trust in him too, giving him high fives and taps on the butt.
    I like it. :D

    1. What game are you watching?

He's not the primary ball handler. He's handling the ball 1/3 of the time at best. With a pick 1/6 of the time.

      Nothing has changed.

      Delete
    2. Well after he brings the ball half court, the rock is in his hands for decision making 1/2 of the time.
But yeah, the screens never come.

      Delete
    3. Agree with zxcvb. Still a typical Rockets game with Harden handling a lot more than the typical SG.

      Delete
    4. Yeah the first half was mostly all Lin, but now Harden is demanding the ball more often. Sigh -.-

      Delete
    5. You see what I mean?

Nothing changed. Jeremy was punished for even handling the ball 30% of the time.

  2. Harden and Parsons' men always score the most points for the opposing teams.

    1. Cara, are you at Toyota center today to meet Chandler Parsons?

  3. Houston is committing the same sin like their other games in which they are losing. Resorting to threes and not running back on D. Harden let Lawson blow by him for an easy 2 point play.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Is McHale blind? The CSN broadcast team can tell the Rockets are tired and getting run on, yet McHale doens't sub anyone...

    ReplyDelete

    1. McHale isn't stupid. He's just slower than average people.

      Delete
  5. Lawson just blew past Beverley. The rookie getting exposed.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Beverly subbed in for Lin and let Lawson blow by him for an easy 2 and also caused a TO on the other end. Three Houston defender and still can't get the rebound over the one lone Denver player.

    1. Haha they look like gnats on an elephant's ass.

      So ineffective.

      Delete
    2. Lin, of course, will get blamed. "Lawson destroyed him!"

90% of the damage done by opposing PGs is on hard picks and on TD/Beverly/Harden.

      Delete
    3. ITS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT BUT THE MEDIA SAYS OTHERWISE

      Delete
  7. It started out with Lin as primary ball handler but now its all ISO Harden and they are getting down again.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Its very clear from watching this game. This issue is Harden. There is a reason he was a sixth man. There is a reason he was a sixth man. There is a reason he was a sixth man.

    1. He'd be amazing as a SHOOTING GUARD.

But not a point guard/shooting guard/small forward/player-coach. That's what he is now -- he's treated like he's Lebron and MJ all in one.

Let Jeremy run the offense. Let James attack off the ball. Instant victories...but no. McHale goes by the "eye test."

      Delete
    2. That would be too easy even a caveman can figure it out. Wait a minute, McHale resembles a cave man, but yet he can't figure it out. Geico is wrong!

      Delete
    3. yes, it should be 70%-30% of Lin and Harden to be PG but it's more like 30%-70% now. The Harden PG experiment continues on. At least Lin is being aggressive now.

  9. Two three hundred women at Toyota to meet Chandler Parsons. Tiffany said that CP is hot and they can't wait to meet him and tired him out so that he commits 4 fouls.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Harden is a turnover machine.

    ReplyDelete
  11. HAHAHAHAHA I wonder if Harden will go double digits in TOs today.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He probably already has double digit TO's ... I am very sure they shave TOs for him.

      Delete
  12. Harden with 6 TO's and McHale is ready to pull out his hair. His man Harden is the cause of all of these TO's. Oh my god, a TD sighting.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Honestly, I think Houston is playing better today. Execution isn't flawless, but they are making an effort on the little things like PnR defense and setting picks etc..

Denver is just a more athletic team. Their defense is overwhelming Houston. Houston getting tired quickly in the 3rd.

    TD is in!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They played better for five or ten minutes in the 2nd quarter.

And then they played even worse than usual this quarter.

McHale's ass should be canned like sliced pineapple.

      Delete
    2. They did play inspired defense in 2Q then back to normal no-defense. Don't think they will come back from this total domination w/o any defense.

      Delete
  14. Lately...why is that every time the opponent team score on the Rockets I will get a butterfly in my stomach that Lin will get bench by Mchale, even though he is on the bench most of the time?

    ReplyDelete
  15. The game is lost already. 16 points lead and the Nuggets are not going to relinquish the lead especially when Houston is going to shoot themselves in the foot time and time again. Up to 20 TOs so far already.

    ReplyDelete
  16. What happened there??all of a sudden the lead is 16

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. McHale rode the starters too long in the 3rd quarter and the Nuggets exploded.

It's a 20 point defecit now with 10 minutes left and I'd rather have Lin sit and rest his knee than play in a lost cause.

  17. Javal McGee having a highlight reel night against Houston PF and interior defense.

    ReplyDelete
  18. See once HardLin is out, they relax on the defense (nuggets).

Plan is clear: STOP rox backcourt, and watch Rox frontcourt self destruct.

    ReplyDelete

    1. No once Lin is out and not controlling the offense and harden cont. to play pg at times/iso ball the ROX will be in mediocrity till the give LIN the green light

  19. wow mcgee owning it up. throws it off the backboard to himself for the huge slam. would watch again.

  21. we went away from lin, stopped setting screens and look at that hole!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Its just a bad mismatch...Rox interior defense is garbage, and its just what Nuggets are good at.

This game is over, they can't stop them at all.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lin got benched again? And Rox down by 19? Dam, what's going on?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. nah they're just resting him, this is typical mchale rotation, he'll come in soon enough, or maybe too late.

      Delete
  24. Im glad Im seeing the Rox lose bc MCHALE will be gone soon CANT WAIT!!!!

As long as they hold Lin down and not let him be the pg/leader on this team, The rox aren't going anywhere

    ReplyDelete
  25. Commentators making excuses that at this point in the season legs are tired. Really? You only played 43 games. If it wasn't for McHale making them run up and down the court constantly and not using the minutes on Harden right then he wouldn't have tired legs.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. lol i knw, Mcahle will be gone soon...cant wait, at least I hope

      Delete
    2. These guys are 22 - 23 years old. Yes, they are young, but when you wear them down they will be tired. I have stated that this type of offense cannot be sustained over a long period. The season is too long to be constantly running up and down and not playing any half court set when the running fails you. Something McHale is clueless because he can't draw up plays or can't have a half court set offense.

      Delete
    3. And that is why your star Harden has tired legs. McHale is not resting him when the game is lost and he is committing TO after TO. That is how stupid he is.

      Delete
  26. Drexler is an idiot saying THEIR LEGS ARE TIRED now, making excuses

He has to resign. He's such a two-faced scumbag, I don't know if he will.

He was humiliated in Minny, so he's clinging to the only GM dumb enough to hire him.

      Delete
  36. I'm honestly glad the Rox are getting exposed, for one they HAVE to be realizing Harden is NOT the ANSWER and MCAHLE; the coaching staff is the PROBLEM

    ReplyDelete
  37. I hope they don't put in Lin now so he can get some rest. This game is lost down by 19.

    ReplyDelete
  38. On a brighter note, Dwight Howard said he will play better and the new Howard will show up from now on. It was just announced that he hurt his shoulder and is flying back to LA for an evaluation. What a joke that guy is.

  39. Maybe the ladies are meeting the wrong Chandler tonight. They are actually here to see Will Chandler and not Chandler Parsons.

  40. Just an itsy/bitsy info... Mcgee once tweeted he needed help in math. Jeremy offered help.it went something like this...
Jlin. What in math do u need help with
    Mcgee the answer
Jlin yeah but what is the question?
Mcgee. The question is... Are u going to help me?

    ReplyDelete
  44. This is WHY I don't like when ignorant analyst say Lin is NOT playing at an "allstar" level, do they watch the games? Mchales rotations and benching Lin so many times will skew his stats overall

    ReplyDelete
  45. McFail should rotate his players like they do in Hockey to prevent fatigue.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lin is not coming back in because bench is "hot"

    ReplyDelete
  47. lol, wow mchale is really stupid. Losing streak ON!!!

    ReplyDelete

    1. No use. McHale has DESTROYED Lin's value.

At least in Houston, he guaranteed 20+mpg.

Lin just needs a new coach who will let the PG play his position.

      Delete
    2. Your wrong. I know most of us here love jlin and are biased, even so we all can see what the coaches have done to jlins game..basically not letting him play. There are really smart basketball people out there that know that as well. I'm sure they could trade jlin if they wanted to. I had to stop watching the games, I love jlin but those mchale and coaching staff is so bad its no longer worth my frustration ;-)

Thought it's going to be a different scene but it's hopeless. Still got benched in 4th. Man, I'm tired of getting frustrated at this idiotic behaviors of the coaching staff. I'm going to restrain myself and not cussing tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Keep lin out because these guys are CLEARLY making a difference!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yeah...im sure a lot of that will be seen in linsanity the movie....Guys, pls support this and pledge whatever amt so we can all see the finish product.

    ReplyDelete
  64. 23 TO so far and down by 20 points with 4:50 seconds and McHale refuses to take Harden out. He refuses to throw in the towel and let his bench play. What a bad coach this guy is. No clue when to call it quits.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Elephant in the room .. Harden commited his 7th TO while passing and announcers said, "......."

Why can't we have a reasonable comment like why not let $25M PG sit on the bench and do his PG thing?

    1. agreed, there was NO logical reason behind benching Lin, NONE

    2. It's insane watching an All-Star caliber talent degraded and insulted like this.

Jeremy succeeds whenever he's allowed to play his position. But no, he's the 3rd option ball-handler and 5th option scorer.

I feel awful for Jeremy -- he's watching inferior PGs get picks and run offense and play regular minutes. And the only difference is that he's Asian and they're not.

Hence, he will have to work a thousand times harder to earn the control other starting PGs are granted right away.

Our only hope is that McHale resigns. He's a two-faced know-nothing scumbag who needs to be blacklisted from NBA coaching.

    3. On TV, I saw Sampson get up and call for Beverly on a penetrate and kick by lawson that resulted in a three. Of course, he wanted Beverly to keep LAWSON out of the lane and of first sequence LAWSON blew by him.

      Sampson is a MAJOR PROBLEM.

    4. It's time Lin and his crew make some noise to this bull crap. Enough is enough. This is maddening.

    5. He took a jumper at mid range. He took the last shot at the end of the half.

I wish I was being facetious with this assertion, or that I was trolling, or that I was in any other way being malicious/over-sensitive to the decisions of the coaching team, but this is the 2nd time I've caught this as it happened. A few games back, I forget against which team, JLin sunk a shot from a fadeaway jumper at the mid-range (his bread and butter last year - mid range, not necessarily fadeaway as his floaters were key, too). After he hit it during that game, McHale, as opposed to clapping, or applauding, or approving the basket in any way, turns and throws his hands up, going "wtf..."

If you look at the play-by-play recap, he got 1 more shot after that one before he was pulled. This is going to seem like a giant conspiracy theory, but I assume that last play was to throw off the scent on an immediate pull after sinking a sick mid-range.

      Delete
    6. Yah I was wondering why Lin doesn't shoot as many pull up Js this year.

He did get one today. That's probably why Lin got benched afterwards haha.

      Delete
    7. I'd also like to point out that Lawson was at 11 pts when JLin stepped out, at the 3 min mark in the 3rd. Between those three last minutes and the 4th, Lawson racked up another 10 pts.

JLin on Lawson - 11 pts through first 33 mins of game
Others on Lawson - 10 pts through last 15 mins of game

    ReplyDelete
  74. Harden finally gets a rest with 1:10 minutes left in the 4th and the Rockets are down by 15. Very smart move by McHale. Way to manage your players minutes. Lin should have some fresh legs for the New Orleans game.

2.) Lin gets traded as part of a Morey wet dream.

Next it will be whatever new guard they bring in. Anderson will probably be playing next since he was 2-2 from 3 point land.

Lin only needs to compete with Lin.

      Delete
    3. no, the bashing is really towards the coaching, because they think PB and TD are better than Lin. And they deserve the bashing. What they are doing with Lin is inexplicable.

    4. I'm not bashing neither one.

I'm being sarcastic about McHale's mentality. I have said it many times I like Lin + TD together, and I like TD's game.

Players need to be rotated more often to prevent fatigue.

Denver out muscled Rockets down the stretch because Rockets ran out of gas in the 3rd.

  85. What happened to LIN playing without HAREN? What is the explanation for the change in that? ... the team played best tonight when HAREN and LIN were on bench. but LIN could have easily been in there for BEVERLY and getting that done.

  86. yes, that is what us fans have to do. stick with our guy through thick and thin, ups and downs. I hate the way they are treating him, but I know deep inside that this is just going to make Lin's fire burn even more. IE. no scholarship, not drafted, being cut, etc. fine..u want to play that game, well guess what? It's nothing new. lin is used to this adversity and underdog status. he will rise again, and you lame rockets coaches will be burned!

  87. It seems like it doesn't matter how well Lin plays, it seems the coaches think he's a liability in the fourth and won't come in, period. Is that McHale's crazy thinking?

    1. I think they are morons. This is the same backward thinking they had years ago that black people could not play in the NBA, baseball or NFL. I can't believe this is still going on today. You would expect that the league would really protect and like Lin seeing as he is an amazing player, of the highest character, and that he is Asian.

    2. Asian Jackie Robinson. Stupid AMericans never learn their lessons.

    3. Thats what I've been saying too. Lin is the single most important Asian-American male in the history of sports/entertainment - yes, he is even bigger than Bruce Lee is many many ways.

  88. more than half way through the season and without doubt, lin is not in the rockets long term plans. How else do you explain the disrespect? You only bench your role players or scrubs. You don't repeatedly bench your future players. You think lillard gets benched like that? You think conley gets benched like that? hell no. LIn needs to just improving his game, but the long term solution isn't with houston

  89. In other news, Joakim Noah playing like a rockstar and saved bulls from losing to Pistons...Well 7 seconds left pistons ball 82-85 bulls and pistons couldn't hit a 3ptr to bring it overtime.

That's how this game should be played...Rox right now have no heart at all.

  90. well, what are people saying on the rocket boards? Are they supporting the benching, or confused as well?

    2. yea, everyone except McHale and Sampson can see that Beverly and TD are not going to make the team better over Lin.

  91. If McFail were a golfer, he would use his driver to hit the ball out of the sand trap and expect the ball to go 300 yards then blame the driver...

  92. Lol McHale probably thought what worked against the Bobcats (benching Lin) would work against the Nuggets too. Don't be worried about Lin not getting minutes in the 4th. Good for Lin to get some rest. That whole quarter was basically garbage time.

    1. You may be right.

He's such a dimwit, his blueprint going forward might indeed be the Charlotte "win."

  94. Do the math Coach McHale...

JLIN scores 38 without HAREN and they take the SPURS to OT (should have won but YOU McHale uncoached)

    +

JLIN sits pine for fourth quarter of a James HAREN dominated game and you squeak by 10-31 Charlotte.

First 33 minutes of game - JLin on Lawson - 11 Pts.
Last 15 minutes of game - Others on Lawson - 10 Pts.

      Say whaaat?

    1. Oh, no, they're criticizing him alright.

Jeremy will always be blamed in a loss...or a win.

Harden will almost always be untouchable.

    2. That's the whole marketing gimmicks. Jeremy only managed to pull that many fans to Toyota Center. Making Haren the superstar will attract more revenue for the Rox. Somebody needs to get the blame. Conveniently but unfortunately,it's Jeremy, whose role is taken by Haren.

      1) Nothing.

      2) "I was looking for a spark."

      3) "He'll be fine."

McHale and Morey need to be canned by Les. They're destroying careers and making the team unwatchable. Seriously, the Rockets are just boring as HELL to watch right now.

  98. Of course... It all falls on McHale. They have chosen the wrong leader and the wrong point guard. Organizations choose the wrong leader all the time. And, this is a prime example.

James HAREN is the perfect 6th man. He is NOT a point guard, not a leader, and not a guy who needs to play EXTENDED minutes for what he does. If he played defense, sure. But he doesn't. Watch and old wester, The hired gun comes into town and does his business quick and fast. He's not in the movie the whole time because that would ruin the effect.

    ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION.

  99. Why are all of you getting angry that Lin didn't get to play that "garbage time" 4th quarter?

Let me put it that way. Maybe McHale just thinks Harden and Parsons need the stats padding (Harden for the All Star team and Parsons for a new big contract) and Lin doesn't need that. Who knows? But it's pointless to get angry by not playing in a blowout loss. Close game like the Bobcats one, yes, but not this one.

  100. Unless there is a coaching change or trade, expect this for the next 3 years. In fact, expect Lin's minutes to go down more and more. It's even possible Lin will be benched or come off the bench.

Funny thing is, Lin will probably produce off the bench, creating a new controversy and headache for the Rockets and I think they know it.

So I think they will just make him the token starter and never play him when it matters and force Lin to defer to Harden when they play together. Luckily, they HAVE to play him at least 15 minutes a game because he is getting paid. They wont completely bench a guy averaging 8 mill per year and make the owner look like a fool despite their best efforts.

I saw Lin drive into the paint in the first half and try to pass to Asik leading to a TO. He should have just jacked up his patented rainbow fall away. On this team, it doesn't pay to pass. He needs to stop passing to everyone unless they are wide open and/or named James Harden to keep the coaches happy. Otherwise, he needs to just jack up shots and drive on 50/50 plays.

It may be that Lin barely touched the ball because of Harden's high usage rate, but I like how Lin hardly had any assists or passed much in the first half so Parsons, Morris, PPat, Asik can no longer break 10 points a game.

With Lin's limited touches, he has to choose to score which is what he tried to do in the first half. I didn't watch the second half, but the guy only took 1 shot? I guess he didn't play much in the second half so that may be why....

This Rockets team is coached and managed pathetically. But 75% of the NBA teams are managed that way....

  101. Now...JLIN is a guy who CAN and SHOULD play a leading role because he affects the game and puts his stamp on it OVER TIME. LINSANITY isn't QUICKSILVER its progressive ... and it can erupt at any time!
