After losing to the Nuggets, the Rockets seemed to have gone back to playing better team basketball. You can see the difference when the ball is moving on offense, and there helping each other defense. When this is happening JLin gets in a flow and they are just a much better team. Let's see if this continues as they step up in competition on the road at the Jazz this Monday.
But before that, Jeremy and a few of his teammates will get to check out "Linsanity" the documentary:
Jeremy Lin to appear at Sunday screening of Sundance documentary 'Linsanity' | Sundance Film Festival | The Salt Lake Tribune
Linsanity - Festival Program | Sundance Institute
The movie, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, has been getting rave reviews:

ReplyDeleteMaybe that's code for "get out of my face Bondy" RT @NYDNInterNets I asked Deron Williams about Lin: "I don't want to talk about Jeremy Lin"
aww I wanna see that movie!!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully we all will be able to see it soon if some company picks it up. I'm actually surprised there's no news of companies bidding for it. If it wins an award at Sundance, there will definitely be a run for it.
DeleteI'm guessing that if a company picked the film up, the guys that filmed it would be losing out on profits, DVD sales. Distribution becomes more complicated etc
DeleteBasically more control over distribution/ profits/ how it's marketed but with a much smaller budget? Just my guess, otherwise someone would have picked it up by now.
DeleteYes, definitely but distribution and marketing are really expensive so that's why they want to be picked up ala 'Better Luck Tomorrow'. Speaking of which, Evan Jackson Leong (the director) used to work for MTV, according to one of the articles posted here, so I'm surprised they're not jumping on this like they did BLT, given his connections.
DeleteBut thinking about it more, Linsanity already has a fanbase and it's still fresh in people's minds (internationally even), so it wouldn't need too much marketing. Plus so much is done through social networking these days anyways. Well, a major company always makes things much easier because they already have everything set up, so I guess it's up to them whether they want to work more or work less.

DeleteRead the kickstarter site. They talk about money thats needed to finish the movie:
Deletehttp://www.kickstarter.com/projects/linsanitymovie/linsanity-the-movie
I dont think theres a lot of money to be earned. I think these guys are just doing it because they think it should be done. Just think of how it started. According to his MTV interview Mr Leong went to film Jeremy on his free days. Back then - there was no Linsanity in sight.
You can support the project - minimum amount is 1 Dollar!
Lol @ DWill.
ReplyDeleteHe's gunna blame it all on Lin of course...Because Lin laughed when he got ejected...
Oh btw:
Royce White is back!
Royce gave a very interesting interview the other day on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption. Most of the talk was about mental health issues, his advocacy work on those issues, and his own struggles with his issues and the Rockets and NBA. He actually seems like a thoughtful and well-spoken young man.
DeleteI don't know of any bball stars ever had a documentary made about them after their first real season...You go Lin, you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI wonder who first among the Knicks will say this film is ridiculous...
Deletemy money's either on Melo or JR.. lol
DeleteWell, it's just a coincidence that this doc is about a bball star. Originally, it's supposed to be about an unknown player struggling to make it.
DeleteThat makes it even more exciting. A guy who had to overcome all sorts of obstacles to get where he is today... what a story.
DeleteWe all have heard about the american dream. We have all heard of stories in which dumb, hatefull, greedy or ignorant people stand in the way of good people. How many people will watch this movie and realise that they are a-holes?
I cant help but think of that guy who wouldnt let Jeremy enter the MSG. He will watch this and say "damn - what an ignorant ass I was".
Its funny though. We all walk through life thinking that we are good and others are bad. But - theres that saying...
...theres an a-hole in every group. If you look around and you cant identify that a-hole - its probably you...
Looks like they haven't yet reached their funding goals. :(
ReplyDeleteKickstarter: Linsanity The Movie
Hopefully we mere mortals have the chance to watch it. I'm positive that it'll do well in Asia and somehow make it to at least Amazon UK/Lovefilm. There've been instances where movies like John Carter perform exceeding well overseas than the domestic market. Love the costumes in this movie btw.
Kind of surprised, didn't even know it was a kickstarter project, maybe just people didn't know...Simply heard there's a movie but didn't know it was a kickstarter?
DeletePledged, of course, now that I know it still needs funding, doing what little I can :D
Meant to say kind of surprised it was a kickstarter and it didn't get funded, 117k is not a lot considering how many fans Lin has.
DeleteI dont know what the problem is. Marketing maybe? JLin is so famous - cant they find anyone to back that project?
ReplyDeleteTV stations in china, taiwan, singapore, HK and the USA should be keen to airing that documentary. Lets asume that one TV channel from each country throws in 25 grand -> done. Since when can you get an awesome documentary that took so much time to make for so little money? It would be an awesome deal.
Since the documentary is good for JLins image his managers should consider throwing some money at the project, too. It would be well spent money - even for them.
How about JLins sponsors like Nike and Volvo? It is safe to asume that their star will be even more famous and valueable after that. They basicly get an upgrade of their star for free...
I think,if a distributor will pick up the movie, his sponsors would be more than willing to give some funds. there's tons of inevitable product placements of Nike is all over the documentary, not sure with Volvo though.
DeleteActually that's a great idea. Most dvds these days have some trailers prior to the start of the film. And they have disabled the ability to skip the trailers...So yeah...in place of trailers good advertising for both Nike and Volvo for every dvd sold.
DeleteGood points about the sponsors. A lot of money to be made here! It's weird given the good buzz around this that no major bigwigs are jumping in.
DeleteIf no big companies jump in or they're not wanted, Jeremy has almost 1 million followers. If each one just donated $1, they would reach their Kickstarter goal pretty quickly!
The kickstarter pledge only needs somewhat around 100.000 Dollar. Each of JLins 1.000.000 followers would only have to give 10 cents.
DeleteWe need to get this darn movie funded! I love Jeremy and his story! I'm good for $50..
Deletejust pledged 150, so that I can get all buttons, poster, sticker, and the DVD. Can't wait!!!
DeleteYou are true Lin fans :)
DeleteBTW - I read that all the people who pledge more than 50 bucks can also get a digital download :)
Yes, I'm proud to say I am an LOF :-)
DeleteActually, I think everyone in the world should/need to become an LOF, then this world will be a much better place to live.
@HY - same here. I'll try to see how I can pledge coming from Asia. I don't have a credit card and my Paypal is low on funds lol.
DeleteJeremy's steal in Nets game is the Steal of the Night.

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
and play around in the "Try it yourself" section. Soon you will be proficient making links. I've memorized the html code and is almost second nature now.
Hmm, the URL you used does not work. Try this one instead.
Deletehttp://www.nba.com/video/channels/top_plays/2013/01/26/20130126-sotn.nba
Thanks 888. It works only if we copy and patse the link on a new or existing tab.
DeleteI managed to link a couple of vids before only this one somehow didn't work.
I can't see how that would make a difference. Maybe it's different for WordPress accounts but I can't imagine why it would. Too bad I can't jump onto your computer to see what's up!
DeleteLin's movie guys should do the "Bruce Lee":
ReplyDeletefind an Asian distributor and let this movie be globally watched by the entire planet outside the US.
I can just imagine Lin speaking in a dubbed Chinese voice, lip synched and all.
That would probably be more successful. Distributors in the USA are simply no good when it comes to asian stuff.
DeleteOne time I went to the states and my cousins took me to the cinema. They were talkig about a brand new Jackie Chan movie. When the movie started I realised that Ive watched it 4 years earlier...
Willy that happens to me all the time in regards to Jackie Chan movies. When I read the english title, I think oh there's a new Chan movie then I read the Chinese title and realize it's already a few years old.
DeleteJackie Chan movies are really formulaic though.
imo if the documentary needs funding, lin should just pay for it. and demand a higher portion of the profits too.
ReplyDeleteAlso noticed lin was wearing what appears to be the same hyperfuse lows that he was sporting during the pre-season. I really hope they are not the same pair. He should have worn them out by now and is risking injury using them.
I heard pro athletes wear out a pair of shoes every week :)
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteDont' know about every week willy, but as a high school athlete back in the late 90's i'd wear one out in a season. Usually holes appear where my big toe would be ...
DeleteThat I would consider more than worn out :)
Delete^^That's what I would consider FUBAR - Fucked Up Beyond Recognition
Deletewith autographed game shoes going for more than 1k, there's no reason for lin to wear out any shoes. also think mj used to give away his shoes at the end of some games which probably helped his marketability. so lin should keep half his shoes and just give half of them away to some sick kid and make sure a reporter is around to witness this. at worst lin will have a closet full of shoes that he can give away to family and friends.
Delete@razerrr:
DeleteWhere is the A from fubAr?
A stands for "All"
DeleteAn artticle said some of jeremy's teammates and coaches will be present at sundance. We will see who really has jeremy's back. Hopefully, those that would show up will be there not just to ride with jeremy's popularity but to really give him his much deserved support.i really hope all jlin fans will get to see this documentary.i cant wait for it.
ReplyDeleteI think they are getting near. I read bunch of fans gather 7500 dollars and 10,000 and make it 65k.
ReplyDeleteThats very good to know, however the most recent update i got from kickstarter says they have around 50k plus and still halfway from the target with 20 days left. Linsanity team still urging fans to support and pledge before deadline.
DeleteTo be exact, they are 46% close to the goal. So just do the math, 46% times 117,0000 , that's what they lack and need to raise in 20 days.let's continue to share the world abt this and pray that fans would respond. In behalf of linsanity team, thanks!!!LOLOL
DeleteThey're over halfway toward the goal of $117,000, with 2/3 the time left to go. Logically, they should make it by the deadline ... but the donations haven't been evenly spread, some days they get $10,000 a day, some days they only get $500 a day. So we don't know.
DeleteThis film isn't even complete. The producers and crew weren't allowed access after Jeremy Lin became a star, up until the time he was let go to the Rockets.
They did not follow him to Taiwan or China over the summer.
This will probably require a sequel.
Just a side note, rondo torn his ACL. Not sure if it happened in today's game against heat.this is one thing you dont want to happen to your starting five especially to the PG.Rondo had to be replaced for ASG.
ReplyDeletehe injured it last game vs hawks, but apparently wasn't painful enough as he played the last few minutes of that game.
DeleteGuess no Celtics in playoffs this year
DeleteRondo's injury happened today.
ReplyDeleteAny word about which teammates and coaches attended the screening?
ReplyDeleteThey made a documentary about Sebastian Telfair, the Brooklyn high school basketball phenomenon. That got picked up by a major studio...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457502/
There's no reason why Linsanity shouldn't get a major deal from Hollywood. They might do that, but replace Jeremy Lin with a White dude.
Or some token black guy for rush hour 4...harden maybe?
Deletecoffeetime seems to have closed his/her account in youtube.
ReplyDeleteDarn...I really liked his/her long versions of Lin's highlights.
Same here. I've said it several times but the long highlights really show how far ahead Jeremy is in anticipating how a play will develop.
DeleteHEre is the link to donate:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.kickstarter.com/projects/linsanitymovie/linsanity-the-movie
Can the movie maker show the movie at some indie theater in some big city and use the profits towards reaching their goal?
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if Landry Fields could have been there. If I recall correctly, he was the only one who is interviewed in the doc. I would also want to see Jared Jeffries, Iman Shumpert, Steven Novak, and Tyson Chandler. Well, actually, the whole "Linsanity" group.
ReplyDeleteHaha wouldn't we all. And wouldn't we love to see them all on the same team again :D
DeleteAccording to Chandler Parsons' Twitter, their flight has been delayed, but they have taken off now. I hope that Lin still makes it to the screening.
ReplyDeleteWow - I checked the number of backers just a few hours ago and it was a 589. Now its at 607. Guys -> final spurt!
ReplyDeleteNow 608 backers. They are at 58.4 percent!
DeleteNow 617 backers. They are at 59.2 percent!
DeleteNow 635 backers. They are at 60.3 percent!

DeleteThat's great, I thought he would make it :) Can't wait to see that film.
DeleteHe needs to stop wearing those glasses. They make him look like an old man.
DeleteI like Jeremy wearing glasses, he looks very cool while a lil "i mean business" to me, for i'm that type of person like to wear glasses in certain occasion just to look a lil bit serious and cool...lol
Deletei'll say stop wear that pant too often...lol.
Deleteyou don't like that pair of pants, lydia? thought khakis is in trend now? :)
Delete'Linsanity' documentary premieres at Sundance to standing ovation
DeleteNice arrival video and interview. Good anecdote about his best purchase since $25M contract :)
nice. hope they win against Jazz too.Jeremy and I have the same eyeglasses, but mine's prescriptive. I'm a little bit nearsighted and have astigmatism.
DeleteJust watched this old film of some postgame interviews to the Toronto Valentine's Day game.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua3J-FE1f0U&feature=endscreen
It struck me how supportive everybody was, from Landry's kiss out of no where, to Dantoni's uncontainable excitement, to Jeffries sticking up for Jeremy to a reporter (talking about Jeremy's missed shots).
I know you can't live in the past. Otherwise, you cannot create a better future. Still, it is nice to remember the old days.
feeling nostalgic too after doing some marathon viewing of some of JLin's game highlights. I guess Linsanity will forever be part of our lives... :)
ReplyDeleteJeremy Lin is one of the T&C's Top 40 Bachelors
ReplyDeleteI also watch Linsanity games when i feel down especially if i'm not satisfied with how the Rockets treat Jeremy during a game (w/c is quite a lot). Fortunately i downloaded full games and highlights including interviews :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I don't know if you guys have watched a Jeremy Lin Tribute-oversized kid in YouTube but just saw it last night and it was hilarious (scenes off-court) ! Lin is really funny and i wish that he will have the same fun with the Rocket players as he had with the Knicks :)

thanks for sharing. very warm and touching...
ReplyDeleteSome idiot has wasted no time to trash the movie "Linsanity"
ReplyDeleteWhy would you link to the site? Its obviously a cheap site that no one reads. By linking it you only make people go there.
DeleteObviously, it's HIS site. Admin needs to ban.
DeleteI have inside information from the director of Linsanity The Movie. The director was offered 6-figures $$$ from ESPN for the exclusive rights to the movie -- but, with the condition of not showing the movie in any film festivals. As you know, the film was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. The director is committed to making this documentary the best it can he. So he turned down the offer from ESPN to get feedback from the audience. He's hoping someone in Asia will eventually buy the movie rights.
