Late at night on Christmas Eve 2011, the Houston Rockets waived Jeremy Lin. To go from the lowest point of his career and life, to where he will be this Christmas Day, is a miracle in itself. Like most of the past year, not even Hollywood could have written a better script.
We feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share in the joy of following such a great player and person. We will continue to fully support Jeremy through his highs as well as the challenging times that will still surely occur. To all of his supporters here, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
This is one of my favorite articles ever written on JLin. It really helps you understand what type of player we are all following:
Thanks for all the hard work maintaining this fan site JLinFan#1, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Thank you JLinfan#1 for everything GOD Bless us.
DeleteIt's truly a miracle and life change destiny for Jeremy in that year. I think his faith in god and hard effort in basketball did help him hold on to his dream. His path to NBA is really inspiring. Look how much happened to him in just a year! Bless him all the way and happy holiday to everybody too!:)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year to the great site owners and all the awesome posters here. Here is wishing a better year for everyone and Jeremy Lin!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a Blessed New Year fellow Lin fans!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a feel-good pre-Christmas watching of Jeremy's Rockets highlights. this PG is THE PG any team owner would like in his team (barring costs) - shares the ball, breaks down the defense, facilitates the offense well and makes his team mates better. even Harden is playing BETTER with Lin running on point. Harden knows that on the right timing, he will get the ball to create his shot. with the news of Morey signing Patrick Beverley, I am positive that this was done either because TD is sliding from 1 to 2 as backup for Harden or Machado will be waived or spend more time in the D-League.
No way in heck is Lin being traded, even if I think it'd be neat to see Lin traded to LA for Pau to start as an undersized shooting guard/dual PG next to Nash like Jody Meeks is doing right now while Kobe shifts to SF since he is no longer super athletic like when he was young.
DeleteMost likely TD is going to be traded w/ some rookies/OKC left overs while his stock is high. They are going to upgrade the roster before the trade deadline. Beverly will become the new backup TD. This has nothing to do with Machado. The Rockets are making a move for at least a quality mid-level player to add to the roster via trade.
The Rox just need to make sure PBev can actually play like they think they can before they unload TD, and that the Rox can get a player they truly want.
If they trade TD, you know the Rox believe in Lin. If they somehow trade Lin because he can be used as bait to get a quality big man the Rox crave, well good for Lin too.
Either way I think it's good for Lin...
I always disagree about the arrival of Lin to LA as a blessing or a good thing. First, they already have Nash. It took Lin more than a month to adjust to a ball dominant SG. Now, he's going to compete with a ball dominant PG. So, it will be harder to adjust. Or should I say the overlap of roles will be greater. Lin will further be marginalized. And let us not forget they still have Kobe.
DeleteMerry Christmas everyone! Thanks to the admins and contributors for making this site fun to visit.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays everyone! God bless the Rockets! God bless Jeremy Lin! God bless us all!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays you guys! ^^
ReplyDeleteAnd a thank you to JLinfan#1 and the guys for giving us a place to get together.
Here's to a great year ahead!
Happy Holidays all the fans here, and of course JLinfan#1 and Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the support (and the critics) through the ups and downs. Hope we'll have much more of everything for the years in the future!
Happy Holidays everybody!
ReplyDeleteDon't eat too much.
Tummies will ouch.
Rockets is paying $25 Million for the same person they waived last Christmas. Merry Christmas indeed
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the next game
Merry Christmas to ALL! Cheers.
ReplyDeleteRockets didn't know what they had because there was no time to test drive Jeremy. Now the Knicks were the bigger tool in my opinion. They found gold on the street, and instead of pocketing it, they threw it back because the gold was too heavy for their pockets. Instead they should have thrown away some other loose change to make room for Jeremy. A fool and his gold is easily parted.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth? The luxury tax excuse is so lame when they rather keep a player like Amare over Lin even Amare never fits with their team, and the team always seems to play better without him, not to mention he also has a much more expensive contract. What other team would downgrade the startng PG position becasue they want to have a 20 m/year man coming off the bench lol? I like Amare and will feel bad for him if they ask him to come off the bench and give him a limited role.
DeleteI don't blame the Rockets. They had no time, like you said.
DeleteI don't blame the Knicks. They want Melo-ball. They don't need Jeremy for that.
I only blame the Warriors. They had all season and more to watch him. Lacob even saw Jeremy in high school. Jeremy was hot off his Summer League performance. He was a local kid in an area with a huge Asian population.
What the heck were they Warriors thinking?! Jeremy was the perfect backup for both Curry AND Ellis. They could have traded Ellis or Curry and moved Jeremy to PG. That would be an amazing backcourt either way (esp. with Curry).
Cutting Jeremy for someone like Jarrett Jack, I can see. But cutting him for Charles Jenkins (another mid/low-major "tweener")? LOL. Straight up racism by Jackson, Riley, etc.. And Lacob too gutless to do anything.
I can't wait till Jeremy returns to Golden State...that's gonna be fun. If he has a good or great game, which is likely by his track record, the crowd will probably start chanting his name. Or at least scream everything he scores or makes a nice pass.
and backing up Acie fricking Law???
DeleteLOL, I can't believe I forgot about Acie Law. The final insult, indeed.
Deletewhere is Acie Law btw?
DeleteLast heard of~
DeleteEurohoops.net @Eurohoopsnet
Acie Law signed a new contract with @olympiacosbc with an NBA opt out until the 25 of July
11:58 AM - 7 Jul 12
hmm last thing I read the Knicks wanted to trade Amare for FREE...
DeleteI hope Lin smashes the GSW every time he plays them, esp when he plays them in the Bay. Lacob brought Lin into the NBA, but man that FO and coaching staff really almost ruined Lin and almost got him booted out of the league.
DeleteI am so happy Lin broke through last year and made the GSW FO look like fools. The FO and coaches thought Lin was a joke and he ended up making them look like one. I think Lin can bully Curry and Thompson around and kill GSW's defense. Jackson will use Jack and Jenkins and tell Ezili to try and physically bully Lin if Lin starts being too effective.
zxcvb: "I don't blame the Knicks. They want Melo-ball. They don't need Jeremy for that."
DeleteI disagree. The Knicks made a mistake. The one position that doesn't get its lifeforce sucked out by "Melo-ball" is the PG position.
Anthony has often emphasized that his game depends on a good PG and his best in the NBA has been when he played with good PGs, such as Billups and Miller in Denver. Both PGs are competent scorers who also played well with Anthony. By the same token, Anthony is doing well with Felton and Kidd this season and vice-versa.
Like other elite high-FGA scorers, Anthony can't score all the points for his team. He needs teammates, particularly on the outside and weakside - ie, Lin's spot on the court - who can spread the floor and take pressure off him. And when Anthony kicks the ball out of a double-team, he kicks out to the perimeter, again, ie, Lin's spot on the court. There are reasons why Felton, who is not a gifted scorer like Lin, has seen his scoring go up this season playing with Anthony.
The PG position is pivotal and important in "Melo-ball", and Lin plays PG. Lin fits the Knicks PG role playing with Anthony, and alongside Kidd, better than Felton does.
Felton is decent, a solid veteran PG, and it's a wash in the regular season. But when the Knicks face a legit contender in the post-season and lose a close series, likely in the 2nd round, Lin would have made the difference for the Knicks. At that point, they'll need the things Lin can do better than Felton complementing Anthony.
The Knicks made a mistake by not keeping Lin.
It really is an incredible journey...in such a short time.
ReplyDeleteONE YEAR from "total scrub" who doesn't belong in the NBA to "starting PG" who's already demonstrated elite potential.
One year from now, Jeremy will have officially silenced all his ignorant haters and doubters. In fact, he's already started proving media-types wrong in the past three games -- the first time McHale let him run PnRs alongside Harden.
All I want for Christmas is a 18p/8a/2s (or better) J-Lin performance against Chicago...
I want 18/8/2 for the rest of the season. Is it too much to ask for? :-D
DeleteHow about 12/10/10 ;)
DeleteI think 18/8/2 could happen the rest of the way.
DeleteI don't see double-digit assists with Jeremy playing alongside Harden and without a high-quality offensive PF. Maybe if Greg Smith gets good enough to play 30mpg.
All i want for Christmas is for JLin to take the Rockets to the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs.
DeleteIf his jumpshot improves, then yes.
DeleteHe's around 11.7 and 6.2.
If they continue to play at a very high pace then his assists may be inflated.
The Rockets have to avoid the OKC, Spurs, and Clipper in the first round. Memphis is also tough but the Rockets can be LUCKY against them. Currently, they are in 6th place (3 games behind GSW).
3rd round probably will be impossible.
Merry Christmas to everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteJLin will be jingling bells, jingling all the way in 2013. Merry X'mas to all.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to all, and thank you all for sharing your basketball knowledge.
ReplyDeleteOn the issue of year - since Jeremy was born in the year of dragon which is also this year, ever wonder how the year of the snake will affect dragons?
ReplyDeleteThe dragons will eat up all the snakes for dinner, no worries.
DeleteFor people here in HK, the dragon means strength, force and it is the best sign of all for the man of course.
DeleteMy mom is a dragon. Actually in Chinese saying, if u r in ur own year, it's not really good, u might struggle a little bit for the year, things just not going really smooth for you, theres a term for it, too hard to translate it. According to my mom, next year will be better for her dragon. Lol.
DeleteHere is an interview clip. The reporter is Chinese but he got something out from the coach. It is so weird.

Deletewow just wow! what happened with our boy? i hope he already put all these behind. Merry Christmas folks.
DeleteI don't buy what the snake was saying. His brother, Joseph twitted (after the Spurs game) that Jeremy was his best when he played point guard. In the past, the snake stated that why have a democratic system when you got James Harden. I think he was cover his ass because he was talking to a Chinese reporter and also Jeremy is playing well now.
Delete@alcsd, You are right. I would say, The knick game was his break out game and it came from Lin not from the coaches.
DeleteLin did the same thing at Net game, before he tried to fit in the system, that didn't work out,and then he followed his heart and just played his brand game.
Major B.S. Spin reporting for duty, lol
DeleteI remember Lin Bark at Melo and Amare last season during game against the Bucks. Both "sabotaged" the game by not boxing out at the critical point late in the game. It shows that Jeremy is not afraid of his superstar teammates and he have full confidence from the coach. Ironically both Lin and D'Antoni are no longer a Knick now.
I remember an interview during off season, Jeremy said that he learned a lot last season, not just basketball but learned a lot about "People". I think says a lot, a hint perhaps.
Maybe he learned he had to "submit" to his "Typical NBA Star Player(s)" teammates... I don't know for sure
I have a hard time trying to believe what Sampson said
Oh well I just don't know or maybe will never know the truth
His lies and questionable character will catch up with him. He better be careful, he got fired once for unethical conduct.
DeleteThe way he was stuttering in some of his answers tell you he was he was lying. He can lie and think he can get away with it because what would Jeremy say if the reporter were to ask Jeremy. He is not going to say anything bad about the snake because that is the type of person he is.
Jeremy wanted to play point guard, but that position was taken away from him, not by James Harden, but by the incompetent coaches. Jeremy was unhappy playing as a spot up shooter. Knowing how competitive Jeremy is, his answer doesn't make sense period.
wow... serious back tracking....
DeleteI liked this interview!
DeleteThe Chinese interviewer was excellent. Sneakily, his English got "better" as the interview went on. That reporter really threw Sampson for a curve at first, likely to catch Sampson off guard to tell the truth!
However, I was very pleased with Kelvin Sampson's statements. Actually, Sampson said the same thing we said here: Lin has needed to be more aggressive but is being aggressive now.
I detected no artifice in Sampson's answers. If he stuttered, it is because that great Chinese interviewer threw Sampson off balance in an attempt to elicit the truth. But Sampson's statements were not just consistent with the moment, they are consistent with what's actually happening on the basketball court.
The only thing that surprised me about Sampson's answers is that he said absolutely NOTHING about Jeremy Lin's shooting. Every statement was about confidence, confidence, confidence. Given that confidence is justifiably Lin's sole weakness, I'd have expected Sampson to say something about Lin's shooting being affected by that. Instead, Sampson simply said that he's pleased with Lin being aggressive!
I also like how Sampson says that Lin needs to be less deferential to James Harden. I myself would have been OK had Sampson said "Jeremy has not been shooting well, so we put him off the ball to give him a chance to shoot his way back into our game plans". But Sampson said that nobody is "holding Lin back", and that's far more optimistic than how I myself would have used a struggling Lin!
I was very pleased with Kelvin Sampson's honest answers in the face of a very skilled interviewer who knew how to game Sampson. But it was actually an easy interview because Sampson only told the truth which is being played out on the basketball court.
I agree 100% with Kelvin Sampson's analysis. If anything, he's easier on Lin than I myself would've been!
Kuang,
DeleteI think you are not very naive.
Well alcsd, it's hard for me to disagree with Sampson when his comments detail EXACTLY what's been happening in Lin's games.
DeleteI'd rather have Lin camping out in the corner cherrypicking his $25 million for the only NBA team that actually offered him a contract than being the go-to-guy on a team outside the NBA, likely in the Chinese Basketball league.
Lin is attacking. As he's attacked more, the Rockets have given him more opportunities. That's the way the NBA works.
I meant to say naive and not not naive.
DeleteI think you were high on the coaches and don't want to be proved wrong so you only want to hear what you want to hear. I am a woman and I can smell a liar a mile away, especially from a man.
Kuang, you are a Lin fan so I don't want to argue with you. So we will agree to disagree.
Early in the season, one of the reporters ask the snake why aren't there any sets being run for Jeremy, his answer was something like Jeremy can't go left. Hello! Jeremy was able to go left. He was lying then. And he is lying in that tape.
Men are from Mars, women are from Venus.
DeleteI as a man DON'T CARE if Sampson is lying or not. He could be a flaming racist who hates Lin and it wouldn't even matter to me.
What's important to me - and Kelvin Sampson - is that Lin needs to be aggressive and stop deferring. And the gameplan reflects Sampson's - and my - sentiments.
The hardest thing to accept at face value is THE TRUTH!!!
whatever dude
Deletemerry christmas to you too, whatever gender you claim you are.
DeleteI do not believe Simpson is even close to being a racist or has an axe to grind with Jeremy. Not only Sampson, but both McHale and Morey have consistently said Harden is a foundational player that they will build the team around. I don't recall anyone from the Rockets coaching staff ever saying otherwise. I also recognize that Sampson is a hard nose defensive oriented coach set in his ways.... which leads me to believe Sampson values defense over offense, hustle over talent, confidence over player development, tough love over cuddling egos, and so on when it comes to the role players they surround Harden with. I think given his area of valued expertise and coaching style, it's easy for me to see why Jeremy's talent was not fully utilized when he was the acting coach... leading to 4th quarter benching of Jeremy even when he was playing well, Jeremy and the rest of the team deferring to Harden, and so on.
DeleteI do think Sampson was offering a little revisionist history when he says that the coaches weren't telling to defer to Harden. It seems to me that the Rockets experimented with 'putting the ball in their best player's hands' to create and realized that wasn't working.
I do think that had Harden not sat out for the Spurs game, Jeremy would still be struggling with the offense Even Sampson said so himself, it's the chicken or the egg. After the San Antonio game was the first time McHale hinted at changing the offense to allow Jeremy to line up on the left side so he can go right and vise versa for Harden.
A week later during Knicks game, we saw exactly that when Harden sets high screens for Jeremy as well sharing the ball with Jeremy more.
As a long time Rockets (Hakeem, Francis and Mobley, Yao and Tracy, and now Harden and Lin) Fan, the only thing that really bothers me is that it took the Rockets coaching staff 25 games to figure out how to incorporate Lin into the offense... and that it took Harden being out for the SAS game for it to come about. It only took D'Anotoni 3 NBA games (Celtic, Rockets, and Nets Games) + 1 D-League game to figure that out last season.
Even though it took too long IMO, I am really happy the offense is clicking and the Rockets are fully utilizing Jeremy's strength!!! Better late than never I gueessssss.
it's understandable. He's not ready to take the blame or anything. He said it as it's all jeremy's problem for gave it all to harden and jeremy's lack of confidence gave him the problem. Well, why is jeremy lack of confidence? is it really because of Harden?so the coach has nothing to do with that? I don't think so!
Deleteany how, it's all fine to me now, since Jeremy finally got to play the game how he always suppose to play, and things seem to getting better, so what he really said is not that matter to me now.
if you think and see that jeremy tend to defer to harden in the games and you said it's not good, why don't you tell him? maybe it's because you told him to do that?hm.. btw, i think the interviewer in this article ask pretty good questions.
DeleteI don't think he is a racist either, but just plain stupid. If it took him this long to realize Jeremy's ability, it tells you his IQ is pretty low. I am surprised he has a job in the NBA, but again, look at Keith (not so) Smart is a head coach after one failed attempt.
DeleteI don't think Jeremy like him from his body language of late. I think Jeremy is okay with Mchale.
The snake got fired because he lied. Once a liar always a liar.
DeleteI would have gain a little respect for him, if he admitted some of the mistakes he made about misusing Jeremy. It takes a bigger man to admit that he was wrong. I don't like McHale either, but he does seem to have good character.
Happy Holidays everyone!
Deletealcsd, DITTO!
It's not like Jeremy is a rookie anymore... he is playing in his third year!!!
I don't recall Sampson saying that about any of our other young players like Morris, 2Pat, Smith, etc.
he has 35 legit NBA starts last season and probably 15 really good games out of 50 games including this season. It's really on the coaching staff to draw up plays for the players they have.... and not the other way around. After all, the Rockets did miss on Jeremy's potential last year and seemed to not understand how best to use Jeremy's talents until now this season. So I guess I am saying it's not a simple matter of Jeremy being more aggressive... it's really on the coaches to also consider what they are giving up aside from defensive matchup and 3 point shooting to the myriad of ways jeremy affects the game. I really hope they now understand that when the Jeremy controls the ball, good things usually follow!
I agree. It's better if he could say something like, yea, it takes a while for this young team to figure out how should we play. We are trying to do different things to give a try and obviously some strategy failed to work out and we do make some changes right now. U know...something like this...not ..like it's because Jeremy deferring to harden or anything. Cause it doesn't make sense. You as a coach can tell ur players Not to do that.
DeleteI do agree with KUANG in that Jeremy has the green light from the coaching staff to play his game and go HAM now! It also seems whatever the reason, Jeremy's shooting has improved from NOVEMBER to DECEMBER. I do think that if Jeremy needs to keep looking for his jumper on a consistent basis (which we are seeing more of the past three games).... It's the only way for Jeremy to get out of his jump shooting slump.
DeleteI would actually like to see Jeremy shoot some pull up 3's on fast break to get himself going early in games and open up those lanes for himself and everyone else!
Jeremy places integrity very high on his list. So far the snake hasn't shown one ounce of integrity in is whole body.
DeleteYou all would HATE ME if I were Jeremy Lin's coach.
DeleteI'm far meaner than Sampson, even though I'm a huge Lin fan and expecr him to play like the best PG in the NBA.
I'd look at his tentative play and growl "Lin, step up. I'm gonna stick you in the corner until you become more aggressive and start hitting your shots. You want the ball, GO GET IT because you're the friggin' point guard!" And then I'd BENCH Lin for passing up open shots and not attacking - which means that Lin would go into Coach Killah Mode and start playing his way out of the corner!
I am thrilled that Lin has gotten Sampson's message that he indeed is the point guard and so Lin's gotta go get that ball by being aggressive. That kind of aggression is what any player needs to thrive in the NBA. Kudos to Sampson and McHale from me for forcing Jeremy Lin to STEP UP his game!!!
@KHuang:
DeleteThe guy we are talking about has been working hard all by himself to get where he is. He went on the court and started Linsanity that took the world by storm. Do you really think that his struggles had something to do with JLin being to dumb, shy, scared or whatever to get himself the ball? I dont think its that simple. I believe there is more to it.
Willydilly,
DeleteThank you for making sense! Jeremy is no dummy. If he was JR Smith dumb level, then what the snakes said made perfect sense. He ain't from the ghetto. He graduated from Harvard.
You guys do not understand the pressures of pro sports or even basketball for that matter.
DeleteJeremy Lin is on a new team that has several competing agendas. The trick for him has been finding out what agendas to satisfy at what time
You guys are trying to make it sound like I think Lin is a coward. You guys could not be more wrong. Point guards in the NBA have a difficult job of fulfilling various agendas, and it's nowhere as simple as "do what the coach says".
Jeremy Lin is not a perfect player, plus he is still carving out his role on this new team of his. All Sampson did was acknowledge that and out come your daggers and flamethrowers.
I think Jeremy Lin is handling the point guard role just fine and I think thw Rockets coaches are doing a good job allowing Lin to work things out on his own the way EVERY NBA pg does.
I think there is some truth to what Sampson said, since it makes sense. ie no one told Jeremy to bring it down and hand it off to Harden and then head to the corner. But I also think he left out some things as well, there was a bit of evasiveness. He probably gave generalities to Jeremy - like Jeremy you get the ball up court and look for Harden to distribute but remember to keep spacing intact. Jeremy probably took this too literally. Plus, I can relate to him being the new guy that wants to feel his way around and not step on too many toes until proving himself. Like most Asians when introduced to a new group, it is unusual for Asians to jump in and tell everyone to follow. But essentially that is what a PG does - maybe not with words but certainly with actions.
DeletePro coaches don't coddle, this ain't college. Tey also don't spoonfeed. NBA = No Boys Allowed. Jeremy had to figure it out for himself sometimes, where his place is in the hierarchy of team, and what works best. Get comfortable like he says.
Hrm, I don't actually see what the fuss was about...
DeleteThis interview sounds almost like every other Sampson interview I've heard, except he is indicating that Lin has worked himself out of his rut.
You know I've gone back and forth regarding the coaching staff on how Lin is utilized. Because there are times where it made no sense to us why Lin was benched. There are times where it just felt like they are against Lin.
Then you realize that just like Lin, they make mistakes as well...Also on one hand although they want their player to grow, they have to win games.
We've seen in the past where Lin can take things too literal. I think in Houston because he was told:
"we don't need you to play at Linsanity levels"
That Lin may have decided to scale back his production and facilitate instead because of this statement, and take a back seat to Harden...Which you can't if you want to be an effective PG. I mean, watching Lin's games where he was struggling, it was really, REALLY, frustrating watching him kick balls back out when attacking with flat footed defenders, or handing the ball off to Harden/Parsons at the first chance he gets. Sometimes you don't see him bringing up the ball because he has already run to a corner.
When he plays well, he doesn't defer, and he brings the ball up a lot more. Instead he does a much better job attacking, making plays for others, and finding the open man. There's much less of him passing it off on the weak side, or taking those ugly driving jump-passes back out to top of the key that half the time result in TOs, instead he does a very CP3 like thing where he draws multiple defenders around the post with a snap pass to someone wide open on the opposite side/corner or a no look while he screens for a wide open 3 behind him, usually Morris or Patterson.
We're also starting to see his "hug-the-ball-to-his-stomach-while-splitting-defenders-layup-while-drawing-foul" moves that were just darn ugly but effective in Linsanity :D
Only thing I really wanted to hear from Sampson was "I have a lot of confidence in him", which he clearly said. I don't care what anyone else says, but when your coach says this as a player it means a lot. JLin should take note.
Happy holidays to JLinfan#1, contributors and all visitors to this site!!!
ReplyDeleteEspecially thank JLinfan#1 and contributors, and I learn a lot from you guys, and still keep on learning :-), I can't get through a day without visiting this site.
All I want for Christmas and the coming years is for "our boy" to have a long and prosperous career in NBA, because:
1. his games/team are fun and exciting to watch
2. he is a wonderful role model for all kids
3. his charity work thru his foundation is great to the society
4. also his bright smile is contagious -> making everyone of us happy :-) :-) :-)
Merry Christmas Peeps! :)
ReplyDeleteI still remember a year ago, we were forecasting that JLin can be a legit starter and worse case scenario, a solid backup point guard.
ReplyDeleteIf JLin is a stock and we are the investors, we were all "millionaire" now XDD
Happy Christmas everyone~!
Yup, I was one of those who thought Lin would be a solid backup point guard who was gonna be a low usage defensive stopper.
DeleteI wrote in January that Lin would probably average the same stats he did at Harvard and potentially be an All Star.
But the way Lin's played, I actually feel a bit PUNK'D. Lin's been way better sooner than I thought he'd be, and right now he's playing at a level that I didn't even know he could reach!
Even now that the jeremy lin stock has moved higher, I would still be buying. Success in the nba is not defined by ball skills alone but leadership and character. Lin has all in aces and is yet to reach his ceiling.
DeleteLes is Warren Buffet of NBA - he discovered the blue chip stock in Jeremy Lin. He's made many of Jeremy fans multi millionaires by signing Jeremy and making his journey to elite NBA player possible. Well done Les!
DeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBy any chance, does anyone have the Feb 4 Nets vs Knicks game, or know where I can download it. I searched several torrent sites, but none of them have 100%.
Thanks in advance.
Just watch the highlight ! I think u can get enough of what happened. Might be too long ago to have anything to download now.
DeleteSomeone started sharing the torrent. Looking forward to the game that started linsanity.

I still remember last year, I kept coming to this site to find out if JLin had made the Rocket's opening day roster. He played his heart out during the 5 minutes preseason game against the Spurs, and he led the Rockets to an amazing run in the 4th quarter. But that wasn't enough as the Rockets had too many guards and needed help in the front court. I remembered it was a very sad day, but I knew it was not the end of the road for JLin. Rumors were flying that the Knicks were interested, and possibly the Warriors wanted him back. I thought, maybe it was best for JLin to play in the DLeague, show everybody what he can do, and he would eventually find a spot on a NBA roster.
ReplyDeleteLast year, all I wanted for Christmas was for JLin to play in the NBA. This year, I just want to see him maintain the consistency that he's been playing in December: 48% FG, 35% 3pt., and most important, stay healthy.
My favorite highlights have been watching JLin to GSmith pick-n-roll plays. Hopefully we'll see more of this combination in 2013.
Yeh, I remember seeing the highlights of that Spurs games. Practically every Rocket gave up but Lin was motoring along. But it did seem he wanted to play hard but was not sure how because the other guys weren't getting on the same page. As a result his game looked ackward.
DeleteMerry Christmas !! I've learned to love all.of you and have patience with haters like billy chung :D
ReplyDeleteLet's pray jeremy still keeps improving and his efforts can turn hate in love. Who knows what God has still in.plan for him....
Merry Christmas to michelle too and all the readers who don't write :D
Merry Christmas too!
DeleteJeremy Lin heckled has been trending on Yahoo all day.
ReplyDeleteLol. I saw that headline but didn't click. I feel it's another crap of Lin from some one again. So I don't want to read it.
DeleteThe average American viewer loves to see Asian guys like Lin publicly taunted.
DeleteAsian guys like me or Lin cannot control the negativity thrown at us, but we can conduct ourselves like gentlemen.
True gentlemen KICK BUTT when they have to. That's what Lin did, and let the negative racial sterrotypes against Asian American men be damned!!!
Pretty stupid. Sorry...Kate upton. Lin is more into Asian girls. He's not even look at you so how is he flirting with you? These people can really make up story and words from their full of silly head. And Kim has much hotter body if we are talking about "sexy"! Lol. I don't have an account, if I do I ll post this right there!
DeleteI think Kate is very interested in Jeremy. She showed up a few times during his days in New York. Trusted me I know this from a woman's perspective. Also, I think Jeremy is aware that she is interested and he is flatter.
Delete@alcsd you meant Kate Upton? what I know is she's engaged with Mark Sanchez.. or did they broke up? I think Jeremy is more into Asian/Asian-American girls. idk, I think his parents are kind of... traditional I think.
DeleteThey broke up a long time ago. She is currently dating a baseball player. He is a white dude. Jeremy is flatter,, but not interested. She is too high maintenance for him and does not seem to be intelligent to hold a conversation with him. Flatter doesn't mean interested. What straight guy would be flatter by her attention.
DeleteHis parents are traditional, but seem very open minded. They will embrace whoever got their son's heart.
DeleteI meant to say wouldn't be interested by her attention.
DeleteMeant to say flatter and not "interested." I need to read what I wrote before submitting my post.
DeleteHaving lived in NYC for a long time, I have many interracial couple friends including Asian men with non-Asian wives or girl friends. Of course there may be many places in the country where this is not often seen or considered normal. A great example to illustrate my point is Harold's on-screen kiss (of Harold and Kumar) is one of the few examples of Asian man actually kissing a woman on the big screen. I
DeleteI would love for Jeremy to bust down that mainstream, media fed stereotype about asian men not being masculine enough for mainstream America by going out on dates with non-asian women like a Kate Upton. If for no other reason, it would be great to see guys like Jet Li get an onscreen kiss instead of a hug!
Merry X-Mas all!
No. It's nothing about masculine. It's personal interest. They just like to maker fun of Jeremy Lin. And this comedian don't even know who he is. Probably just seeking attention. Lin if he wants, I m sure he can get a lot hot hot girls whether Asians, non-Asians. I hate how these people or media make it sound like it's superior to get a white girl like Kate upton for an Asian man and make it like Asian boy like Jeremy wants to kiss a white girl like Kate upton's ass. Hello. We got many much hotter asian girls than Kate upton for Jeremy Lin if Jeremy Lin wants it.
DeleteAnd ps. No. I don't want to see Jeremy Lin date a non Asian girl like Kate upton. There s a lot Asian hot girl to choose from if Jeremy wants a hot sexy girl type. But no. That's not Jeremy Lin. He wants some one from the heart from the inside.
DeleteFor me I don't even really care about race or ethnicity when it comes to personal preference.... because that is the norm for me here in the Big Apple. But that is not what one sees in the mainstream media. The mainstream reinforces the notion of white guys with asian girls or every other variety but not the other way around.
DeleteAnd yes asian girls are HOT!
Yes. Slash. I understand. I m in big apple too. I think nowadays people should be more open to other ethnicity. It should be nothing but simply the connection between the couples. And yes, whoever still think that like the mainstream media u mention is stupid because if we as ordinary people can see it they should be able to see it too. Again, this comedian or whoever try to make some fun out of jlin is clown.
DeleteAsian men have pretty bad stereotypes when it comes to getting the girl... I mean come on... Wasn't it last year when JLin received that racist comment of a few inches??? Anyways Asian men in general are not perceived as sex symbols in mainstream America... And I for one would love to have Jeremy bust that open!!!
Deleteactually I think a lot of Jeremy Lin Haters are men who can't accept the fact that besides being a smart guy, good kid AND basketball starter who gets the admiration of many, he can get any girl of any race anytime he wants to. these egotists can't accept the fact that someone is breaking the mold and is loved by people just by breaking stereotypes.
Deletethe media is just hyping Kate's admiration of Jeremy, just like last season with Kim Kardashian.
DeleteAnd being a sex symbol should be proud of ? That is very pitiful world if this is all those who could feel proud of. I will say some just like to make fun of others to gain confidence in himself, to make himself feel superior over others. Very simple.
DeleteAny how...we know we don't need to pay attention to idiots like those.
You girls are crazy - what normal hot blooded male would not like Kate Upton's attentions, Jeremy included. He may not be a playa but I guarantee you he's a looka.
DeleteActually the comedian is Tracy Morgan, who used to be in Saturday Night Live. He knows who Jeremy is,and I think this time, he meant no harm. He was just heckling Jeremy, but Jeremy got the last laugh. He and his team punked his Knicks. I only mentioned this trending because of the popularity of Jeremy Lin in social media.
DeleteAnd who's the one making it a big deal here? Sorry not us. I don't like that phrase" hey, Jeremy, are u flirting with Kate upton, sorry, she's not into u." oh. Please. Who's not into who! :) don't make it like Kate upton is some kind of goddess and Jeremy like a stupid boy seeking for her attention!!!
DeleteLOL what the hell, how do we even get here?
DeleteOn topic, it is nothing unusual really. America loves hot asian chick but hates asian men (Hint : Cafe Lu)
On side note, it is amazing that Jeremy still managed to be single now more than ever. But I hope he can found a girl that fits him, who knows it maybe one of you girls here
I think he has a girlfriend. He is keeping it in the low to protect her privacy. Watch this video at 0.45 mark.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc7Rdl0TeHo Watch the Asian girl with the yellow shorts. She is there throughout the video. She looks like the type he dated in the past.
DeleteI see Jeremy as my little brother. That is why I am very protective of him.
Here is the video

Isabel - I agree with what you say about Jeremy Lin starting to break barriers and actually become a quiet and subtle Asian Icon...Its refreshing to know that he is making strides for Asian male America..because lets face it...we really dont have a strong positive presences.
DeleteLydia - I'm not really understanding your post...but being a sex symbol is not to say he should give up any of his other wonderful qualities. Rikki hits the spot with his post...you need to be realistic and see that Asian men are just portrayed horrible in America. I understand this quite well being born and raised here. (Just take a look at Hollywood).
Anyways I'm not trying to sideline into this topic. I extremely happy JLin is starting to do well...Although I would still be cheering for him if he was doing poorly. He just a wonderful ROLE MODEL for Asian men. Love that silent and hidden fire of his that most people dont see or overlook. Merry Christmas ladies and gents and lets see him get that ring =). (It WILL happen! Never doubt)
Alcsd - I dont know about your video...doesnt really prove much....hes has so many other videos with other women (i.e. Arden Cho)...anyways I hope he finds a wonderful that helps him in his journey in whatever way! be it any race!
Deleteguys and girls: I guess we should leave Lin alone as far as his personal life is concerned. I'm sure he can figure that out by himself. All we need to do is just wish him happy.
DeleteBTW, This "heckle" news came out ONE FULL week after the game with NYK.
DeleteI'm sure it's not from Rockets, or Lin. So we definitely know which source it was from <-- just another person who wants to make a name out of Lin's fame (just like most of the Bleacher Report writers did many many times). How many of us knew who this comedian is before this, anyway?
There is no telling what people see romantically in each other.
DeleteFor all we know, Kate Upton may have a real crush on Jeremy Lin because of his looks and blatant husband/father potential. Or she could have a raging man hatred of Lin as an Asian male and came to the Garden to see him PUNK'D. Who lnows???
Heck, I don't even know what's going on iny OWN head, let alone someone else's!!!
I have read a few articles from this website and it written a lot of positive things about Jeremy. Here is the latest article
ReplyDeletehttp://www.latinospost.com/articles/8595/20121224/jeremy-lin-something-changing-houston-rockets-stats.htm
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I read all your posts every day :)
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Jeremy is near 100%. And it is showing. MERRY F***ING Christmas haters. Where y'all AT??? I CANT SEE YALL. LINSANITY IN YO FACE. HOW THAT TASTE? JEREMY LIN THE SURGEON!!
ReplyDeleteMy x-mas wish is that J-Lin will train with this dude
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-PrqWzcC_k
CRAZY handles
"Micah Lancaster is a world renowned basketball skill development trainer who has worked with players at all levels – grassroots to pros – including Kobe Bryant for an event with the London School of Basketball and most recently working with Dwyane Wade, Mario Chalmers, Kyrie Irving, and Nolan Smith.
DeleteAs founder of I’m Possible Training, the world’s fastest growing Training Academy, and the former lead trainer of Ganon Baker Basketball, Micah is known around the world for his skills, drills, and original training methods."
Wow, nuts...Imagine Lin with handles like that...Lin's post season video looks like molasses compared to Micah.
DeletePart 2...Lol awesome...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIefFI6lqYU&list=UUJ_InxhO0IopV05QFlhUxyw
Yeah, Micah is pretty impressive! If Jeremy had handles this crazy he'd be literally unstoppable lol
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50xoMFdaa4s
Is he even human?
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8P3gPHP6yY
Someone give J-Lin this dude's number!
somebody that has twitter accout: quick! please tweet the link to JLin!!!
DeleteI'm not impressed.
DeleteLin's doing just fine with his ballhandling. As long as he can get from point A to point B without losing the ball or slowing himself down, he's good.
Besides, let's see what happens to this Micah Lancaster NBA wannabe's dribbling and scoring when he actually faces an NBA defender in a preseason game, let alone the double and triple teams that Lin routinely beats.
looks like good only for exhibition purposes to me... :)
DeleteWhen I first encountered an NBA player in a pick-up game, what impressed me the most was the power of his dribble. It seemed like he was slamming the ball on the floor. Each bounce was thunderous. And this was playing at a quarter of his normal speed.
DeleteLooks like a good way to make money with young players and kids. Tell a story (underdog - not accepted because of his "build"), say you have a special gift, make some flashy moves and sell lots of DVDs :)
DeleteThis guy talks so much about his "underdog" story (youtube) but you dont see him go against NBA players :) His wiki page -> multiple "issues". This guy could be a great faith healer, car salesman or salesman on a home shopping channel as well - or a motivational speaker - oh wait - according to wiki he actually is :)
Come on guys - JLins two handed dribble exercises arent bad either. He also does dribble and tennis-ball catching at the same time. Isnt that impressive enough?
What's frightening is that this Micah Lancaster guy probably is seen by the American public as being WAAAYYYYY more NBA legit than Jeremy Lin who's already dominating in the NBA!
DeleteHey Phil, which NBA player was that?
DeleteLooking over Lin's stats at basketball-reference.com, I noticed that ...
ReplyDeleteHe's now started 26 games this season, 1 more start than he had last season. He's also played in 90 games total for his NBA career.
His FTA/36m and TO/36m are down significantly from last season, which says he's keeping his head up and picking his spots to drive more carefully this season in contrast to the head-down drives that were Lin's hallmark last season that led to piles of FTs, TOs, and body blows.
Good observation, Eric.
DeleteLast year, one of my biggest gripes was that Lin did not play alongside a startig caliber SG who could relieve him in the backcourt and put pressure on opposing defenses by scoring. That led to tons of turnovers by Lin because he was the only guard on the Knicks that could dribble penetrate.
This year, Lin has James Harden who solves those problems. As a result, Harden had been absorbing a lot of the free throws, bricks, and turnovers that would still be happening for Lin this year.
Michael Terry and I are big proponents of the theory that turnovers are inevitably going to occur when one is playing to win. No risk, no gain.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
