Harden is not getting the foul call nor the basket. Everything just looks out of sync. But the game is still really close since the Wolves are playing like crap offensively too.
Awful game to watch though. The crowd sounds like they have been sedated.
Stop doing that Jeremy, you had a wide open layup in the lane and then you kick the ball out to guys who aren't open at all. A contested 3-pointer is not an assist.
- Wolves have successfully slowed the pace of the game down with what looked like a sporadic full court press, trying to prevent the early first past, but the Rockets are ahead by five anyway. Neither team looks particularly impressive on the offensive end, with a ton of rubbish being chucked up at the basket.
- Harden was looking a bit out of sorts, especially on the defensive end. He's probably really tired but some energy guarding your man won't hurt...
- Lin's decisionmaking in 1Q was poor. As ABC Baller pointed out, he passed out of layups to create worse shots for his teammates, and he already has two dodgy turnovers. Lin is trying a bit too hard.
It's a back-to-back though and the Rox have been terrible on back-to-backs, and they are also awful on the road against Western Conference teams. Hopefully McHale can inspire Lin a bit. When Lin clicks, the team clicks.
I'm glad Jeremy is on the bench for now because overplaying him can lead to poor health down the stretch of an 82 game season especially if they make the playoffs. I think they need to put a 30 minute cap tonight for him.
Now that there is a time out, I would like to state to you all that even though we are all wasting out lives away staring at Jeremy Lin and the Rockets play a meaningless sport, I think we all come say we wasted our lives together here at jeremylin.net!
Lin had a really good case. Barea was moving his feet and wasn't set. Lin extended his arm to create space and Barea flopped. It should've been a no call. Regardless, Kirilenko was coming over for the block and Lin was up in the air again (sigh).
Yeah, Lin could have just shot over Barea on the pullup, but right now he's unwilling to take those shots. He was trying to get in as close as possible. The problem is he used his off arm to clear space, when he could've just used his back and shoulders over the little 6'0" Barea.
that offensive charge was bogus and 2 of the TO should be counted to Asik. He did not have a great first half but it wasn't so bad either, no need to panic. Never seen him that angry before, i think he's going to explode in the 2nd half.
I think the first pass to Asik was more an Asik TO than Lin's (since it was directly into Asik), but the second one was more Lin's fault. Can't really expect Asik to catch those.
@ROMZ, since those will always call lin a turn over machine no matter how he improves, so no bother. It will be fine. Last all of his games, he manage his turn over pretty good. But again, did these people stop to mention his turnover rate? no. so.
sloppy play by Rockets. I think they had it too easy with Bulls last night and the defensive pressure by the wolves is giving them a little of a surpise.
Terrible first half for Rockets. I'm expecting Lin to drive the bad calls to his game and go Linsane in 2nd half. Hopefully. These refs are horrible though.
- After a good stretch of games, Lin has been rather abysmal today. He has five TOs, and while two of them were because Asik failed to hold on to his passes (consecutive plays, too), he was hurling the ball at light speed at close distance to the guy. Five TOs in two quarters is never, ever acceptable, and it's even worse when you have only one assist to make up for it. It was bad Lin out there - poor decision making, overhelping, passing out of shots... McHale has a decision to make. Keep Lin in to let him try to play his way out of the slump, or let him simmer a bit?
- Asik has been non-existent on offence but he has been his usual self on defence. He already has 9 rebounds and was instrumental in forcing the MIN bigs to miss their layups in the early stages of the game. His bad hands were in full view today, though. He doesn't seem like he has the energy or focus on offence. His moving screen TO also helped to kill Rox momentum (though not quite as much as Lin's incessant TOs.)
- Harden has 13 pts on 12 shots. So much of Harden's recent efficiency is predicated on Lin producing and distributing so he can pick and choose his shot. Lin's lack of fluency, combined with rather unsympathetic refs, is seeing Harden's percentages drop.
Yep they look tired. JLin is trying too hard, Asik has no hustle. I don't get why Smith is playing like he has lead shoes. That fast break with him and Harden I don't know why he's trying to go under the basket for a reverse...And bricks under the basket lol...
And refs are making garbage calls, or not calling contact on Lin, but whatever. Rox needs to win just to show up the lame refs, but they really have to win this, because if think this is bad, just wait until Fri/Sat back to back vs Spurs and OKC.
Guys, we can't dismiss what the Rockets players did to ceebrate after the big primetime victory last night.
For all we know, Jeremy could have had the privilege to party with Chicago's most beautiful escorts after the game. wink wink LOL Imagine how tiring that could get especially the day after!!! ;)
wiffle, that's hard to believe! For example a girl like Kim Kardashian will pretty much suck the energy out of any guy. By the time she's done, you and your wallet will be sucked dry hahah.
The Wolves are more discipline both offensively and defensively. The main problem is our defense is very weak or should I say blind on baseline side. Everybody's eyes are constantly looking at the ball instead of each other men and not help rotating defense enough.
The Wolves off the ball movement have been superb so far. You can see their set involved a lot of movement for their small and lot of screens from their bigs
Target Center is also quite packed today, obvious home court advantage .
The only way we can get back in this game is to clamp down our defense and get easy points out of fast break
Watching the game, it's obvious. The Wolves actually have players moving without the basketball. While the Rockets game is just standing around for 3's to open up space for Asik. There is no offensive flow, just guys trying to break down their man individually.
@ABC that just show how big McHale coaching skill compared to other more experienced coaches in the NBA.
The Wolves often have two screen sets at the same time like high double screen or rotating corner three screen. It really freed the small to move and penetrate and we're not doing a good job defending it
Thank god you are here. You seem to be one of the few here who dont panic like little girls. Its a tough game but what sucks more are the posts from the people who use words like "disaster" and "bad signs" all the time.
The bench mob comes in to narrow the lead. Asik getting better passes. Makes sense since the bench should have more energy in a back-to-back.
Maybe McHale should have been more aggressive in his rotations, getting fresher players in when it was clear neither Lin nor Harden were feeling it. But hindsight is 20/20.
I don't like how the refs are dictating this game. They are 65/35 in favor of the Wolves. It's messing up the flow of this game. And yet, I think the Rockets will prevail. My prediction Lin will finish with 14 pts. Harden 22 and a win.
lets go JLin!!! Rubio is prey for Linsanity!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteMissed threes, bad handling - the story of the first minute of the game!
ReplyDeleteLet's go Lin!
ReplyDeleteIt's a grind right now... neither team looks like they are going to score.
ReplyDeleteAnd Timberwolves forcing a shot clock violation? That's a bad sign for a mini-SSOL style team
Jeremy Lin getting punked by Luke Ridnour. Rockets are not running in transition. This game is not fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteGame is over. Horrible game by Lin and the Rockets. Time to make Jeremy the backup PG again.
ReplyDeletethats pretty dumb to say after just half a quarter.
DeleteI see you are unfamiliar with Nemo haha
DeleteOmg! Lin lost the ball lol. Hmmm!
ReplyDeleteParson's not passing to Lin... WTF? Also Harden better not keep challenging Kirilenko, because AK is a great shot blocker.
ReplyDeleteLin needs to calm down.
Lin is standing around the 3-point line, nobody on the team believes he will make that shot.
DeleteCalm down guys, this is the first few min of an away back to back game. It's supposed to be rusty.
ReplyDeleteHarden is not getting the foul call nor the basket. Everything just looks out of sync. But the game is still really close since the Wolves are playing like crap offensively too.
ReplyDeleteAwful game to watch though. The crowd sounds like they have been sedated.
Harden gets a pair of FTs. Good sign.
DeleteLove looks like a big goofy dude right now lol
DeleteNice alley-oop from Lin to Shumpert
ReplyDeletessshhh
DeleteRubio in. Game over for Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteu sure about that?
DeleteRubio is a fucking trash after come back from injury.
DeleteNo so much after Rubio's first few minutes. He looks like he's only at 50%, compared to Jeremy who is at 85% health.
DeleteStop doing that Jeremy, you had a wide open layup in the lane and then you kick the ball out to guys who aren't open at all. A contested 3-pointer is not an assist.
ReplyDeleteLet Jeremy be Jeremy. It's part of his style.
Deletefast game and Love as usual going HAM on rebound.
ReplyDeleteMcHale switches up the rotation. Harden sits first rather than Lin.
ReplyDeleteProbably because Harden lost Shved completely on that backdoor play lol
If Lin into in the rhythm of the game, Houston will win
ReplyDeleteleague pass lagging for anyone else?
ReplyDeleteLin should slow down a bit! He is too rush!
ReplyDeleteSome bad turnovers by Lin, he's not getting any calls when he attacks the rim.
ReplyDeleteNot a good start stat-wise, but he's making the "hockey assist" and playing good defense.
ReplyDeleteThat's why the Rockets are winning despite cold shooting.
Jeremy's due for a "cold" game, so I just hope he can grind this one out and come out strong for SA and OKC.
Fellas, I warned you about Rubio's bounce passes in the pregame thread. He's still capable of those even at 70% health.
ReplyDeleteParsons is the only bright spot so far, and he's supposedly playing injured.
ReplyDeleteEnd of 1Q thoughts
ReplyDelete- Wolves have successfully slowed the pace of the game down with what looked like a sporadic full court press, trying to prevent the early first past, but the Rockets are ahead by five anyway. I'd be upset at all the missed layups by the Wolves bigs if I were a MIN fan lol
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Jeremy is on the bench for now because overplaying him can lead to poor health down the stretch of an 82 game season especially if they make the playoffs. I think they need to put a 30 minute cap tonight for him.
ReplyDeleteI warned you all about Barea earlier as well. He was lkike teh Jeremy Lin of the Mavericks that year when they won it all...
ReplyDeleteI love Harden but he has to stop losing his man on the backdoor cut. First Shved, now Barea. Bad man-to-man defence makes me angsty
ReplyDeleteBarea = poor man's version of Lin last season.
ReplyDeleteNow that there is a time out, I would like to state to you all that even though we are all wasting out lives away staring at Jeremy Lin and the Rockets play a meaningless sport, I think we all come say we wasted our lives together here at jeremylin.net!
ReplyDeleteGod bless!
LOL my life is far sadder than my posting here indicates
DeleteI say YOU wasted your cockroach life here.. so here's the thing: use your cockroach brain and get outta here
Deleteive been watching this meaningless sports even before Jlin so i guess im wasting my life away way longer than you guys. lol
Deletehahahaha..............
DeleteGreat now Lin also loses his man on the backdoor cut.
ReplyDeleteLin is again trying to forcefeed Asik.
seems like lin is out of rhythm.
ReplyDelete5TO ? Omfg!
ReplyDeleteLIN SCORES ON JJ BAREA!
ReplyDeleteAnyone else get a boner?
well he responded with a 3
DeleteBarea comes back with a 3!
DeleteSexy...
Jeremy Lin - $25 million over 3 years
DeleteJJ Barea - $19 Million over 4 years.
ENOUGH SAID! LOL
yeow cockroach Nemo go to a Wolves thread. this is a Jeremy Lin thread, you're too lost..
Deletenemonemonemo......you need your pill to go back to the old loving nemo we used to know!
DeleteHow Did lin get two turnovers twice in less than a minute? Damn
ReplyDeleteHe tried to feed the ball to Asik, who had too much butter on his hands.
Deletewow.. are the Wolves floppers or what?
ReplyDeleteShved is crushing Harden wow
ReplyDeleteHe probably figured out Harden is a terrible on ball defender.
DeleteLin needs to stop losing his man on defense. He's watching the basketball more than we are watching basketball.
ReplyDeletethis game is gonna suck for Lin. Going to check out the stats after the game instead of watching the whole thing, too hard to watch!
ReplyDeleteThat's TO number 5 for Lin with the offensive foul.
ReplyDeleteHe also has two personal fouls.
He was protesting so much he was at risk of a technical.
Wolves love their floppers. Flopping flap jacks.
DeleteLin had a really good case. Barea was moving his feet and wasn't set. Lin extended his arm to create space and Barea flopped. It should've been a no call. Regardless, Kirilenko was coming over for the block and Lin was up in the air again (sigh).
DeleteEven the Wolves commentators were sympathetic to Lin on that play. But refs giveth and refs taketh.
DeleteYeah, Lin could have just shot over Barea on the pullup, but right now he's unwilling to take those shots. He was trying to get in as close as possible. The problem is he used his off arm to clear space, when he could've just used his back and shoulders over the little 6'0" Barea.
Deleteseems a bad game....I don't feel good for this one either..
DeleteAfter that offensive foul called on Jeremy, it's clear the refs are on the Walves side tonight.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, I think the Rockets are playing at 70% tonight after playing so hard last night
Wolves came in at 100%.
Yeah, he's rusty and the refs ain't helping. First bad TO game in a long while.
ReplyDeleteHe had four straight great games...due for a stinker. Just hope he forgets the stats and comes out angry in the 2nd half. Still a winnable game.
2nd game of a back to back. I have a feeling Lin has trouble sleeping on road trips. He's always played bad on the road.
Deleteyup if its any consolation its a close game despite the TO. I still think they can win.
DeleteYes, Jeremy was due for a stinker... otherwise most non-Asians for might feel too uncomfortable seeing an Asian bball player play so well that long.
Deletethat offensive charge was bogus and 2 of the TO should be counted to Asik. He did not have a great first half but it wasn't so bad either, no need to panic. Never seen him that angry before, i think he's going to explode in the 2nd half.

DeleteHe's just got to be aggressive and keep attacking. Forget trying to set up Asik, who actually has a higher FG percentage on putbacks off misses.
DeleteI guess i'll be hearing the TO machine again. they need to win this.
Delete@ROMZ, since those will always call lin a turn over machine no matter how he improves, so no bother. It will be fine. Last all of his games, he manage his turn over pretty good. But again, did these people stop to mention his turnover rate? no. so.
Deletesloppy play by Rockets. I think they had it too easy with Bulls last night and the defensive pressure by the wolves is giving them a little of a surpise.
ReplyDeleteWolves are flopping, the refs are on Wolves' side, Rockets are a mess on the D and cold shooting...
ReplyDeleteTerrible first half for Rockets. I'm expecting Lin to drive the bad calls to his game and go Linsane in 2nd half. Hopefully. These refs are horrible though.

LOL.

Oh boy Lin is playing with a bad TO already 2nd half...How he lost that ball I don't know.
ReplyDelete9pt lead not good.
When I saw Lin fail to control that rebound and run out of bounds for a TO, I was like, wow, when it rains it pours.
DeleteNow it's Parsons turn to be forcing it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, no sign of the Lin-Harden PnR tonight.
It's like the Rox have forgotten all their offensive sets. Not sure how that's possible... they only have a few! Heh.
Rest of Rox seems affected by Lin's bad plays.
ReplyDeleteThis game may be lost already. But maybe McHale can somehow salvage this.
Some nights are just that way in the NBA.
DeleteThis is a young Rockets team that will struggle with fatigue and inexperience.
With the highs come the lows. Lin's been on crazy high, so he's gonna have a bad game every now and then.
Voice of reason...
DeleteLol what a disaster this is becoming. 2-8 Lin and out he goes.
ReplyDeletebenched...rightfully
ReplyDeleteIn and out with he jumper...form looks okay though.
ReplyDeleteRockets are just gassed tonight. Don't analyze too much.
We'll see how J-Lin plays against the Spurs and OKC. That'll be the real test.

ReplyDeleteFinally a bad game came ! We all should knew it will come .
ReplyDeleteANNOUNCER's VOICE: "Subbing in for Omar Asik, Keviinnnn McHaaaaaaaaaaale"
ReplyDeleteAsik/parson keeps lead to 7
ReplyDeleteNow those kind of passes Asik can catch. Not blistering torpedos at point blank.
ReplyDeleteIronically Lin/harden both off court.
ReplyDeleteI thought I saw a white towel on the court too...
DeleteHarden out too?
ReplyDeletewow ugly plays
ReplyDeleteguys, new thread

Dang Asik's balling. He's keeping the Rox in the game. JLin & Harden couldn't do anything at all. Maybe they'll finish this game strong.
