  5. Michael Terry,

You should post more often please. You are the voice of reason here. I always enjoy reading all your posts. You just make SENSE. I like people who are intelligent and also have common sense.

  8. LOL, JLin is schooling Westbrook on how to be a true point guard--you get your teammates involved fool.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Will lin has 20 assists 0 pts tonight ? Lol

    1. How about 2 points with 1 attempt? This would make it 100% shooting!

  10. I love the misdirection he's putting on all his passes.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wow 18-16 in 5 minutes. Rockets are not playing any D at all.

    ReplyDelete
  12. That is a pretty amazing missed layup from TD

    ReplyDelete
  13. what if Jeremy decided to not attempt a single shot in the whole game. I'm kinda interested in that scenario.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. no im not, always look for his shot as well...not interested in that, stay aggressive Lin I would want

      Delete
    2. too late Lin has one attempt now hah

      Delete
    3. its toney's fault he passed the ball to Jlin in the last 5 sec no choice but to shoot.

    1. Because no player can play 48 mins a game is usually the answer

      Delete
  15. There is no question who the best passer on the team is lol. McHale's rotation is too non-flexible. He always takes out Lin when he's playing well but keep Harden even he shoots like shit.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I would agree with you but reading this blog gets me really confused as to when is a good time to take Lin out. There were people in the last thread saying you keep Lin in even when he was playing poorly and turning the ball over.

Not sure what McHale is supposed to do. Can't sub out Lin when he is playing poorly, can't sub out Lin when he is playing well!

Anyway, Lin comes in for Harden because Harden is in foul trouble.

      Delete
    2. i thought the substitution is also a bone headed move by Mc hale. they are on a run literally. 3 offensive run made by the rockets with no answer from OKlahoma. who cares if OKC put martin in they should not made a sub stitution when the offensive is running smoothly. Defense is not their strong suit anyway. they could have built on that lead but you know Mchale decided douglas needed a PT. Oh well.

    3. @wiffle,

I think you might be talking about my post. I am asking for 30-35 min. It is up to the coach to divide up the time to see how the game is playing out. If the rotation is non flexible, I think I can be the coach also. NOT :-)

      Delete
    4. Most all of us agree that Harden plays too many minutes.

    1. Mostly, I get annoyed w/ Clyde. Not much of a Lin supporter, but rides Hardens dick every night.

      Delete
  17. Sigh. OKC flat out know how to guard Harden but he still insists going 1 on 5.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Somebody on another forum wrote that the Rox idea of half-court offence seem to be having various players take turns try to take on teams 1 v 5 rather than having any kind of real team play. Felt harsh to me but sometimes that's what the plays devolve.Get some proper half-court sets in there McHale!

      Delete
    2. What I don't understand is why other teams have not adopted OKC's defensive scheme against Harden. I think Harden is good but his name should not even be mentioned for MVP talks. (Clyde Drexler would disagree)
Perhaps when his defense improves and he knows how to lead a team rather than his own stats.
I think Lin is much more of a MVP than Harden, because of his ability to improve his team mates.

    1. OKC might start to leave Jeremy open all day long at the arc...

  19. Damn! He just can't lock down a 3 pts shot!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Pretty good first 1Q from Lin generally. Assist machine!

On track for 20 assists :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. miss all 3 shots...but at least after he missed it he still dare to try it next time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. TBH I think Lin is "thinking" too much and not in the flow of his shot

      Delete
    2. he's reading the defense. he is a reactionary player. He gets what the defense gives him.

      Delete
  22. Lin needs to be aggressive, although he has some assist he NEEDS to assert his presence on the court...idk I'm not seeing it

    ReplyDelete
  23. Nice - according to boxscore Parsons is at -51 and JLin is at -44. Harden is at -37. Good job guys :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jeremy obsessed with 3s! Just pump fake and draw contact at the rim!

Great work passing and defending, though. Just needs to drive more.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Normally I'd complain that he is passing up on layups but his kick outs from the paint have been amazing today. Unfortunately nobody seems to be able to hit a three tonight for the Rox.

      Delete
    2. Pump fake only works if you're making your shots and the defender is on you. They're leaving him open.

      Delete
    3. hahaha... I just had a mental image of Jeremy pump faking a bunch of times w/ no one guarding him.

      Delete
  25. "TD most clutch outside of Harden... and then Parsons" according to Clyde.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Look at it statistically... who has been the most clutch at the end of the game for the Rockets? This isn't a question about who contributes most overall.

  27. so lin is taking out again just the first 2 min of sec quarter...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Can we start a Kickstarter campaign to get Jeremy Lin a real shooting coach?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not a shooting coach. A sports pyschologist. It's his mind. Everything you do in life, be it suceeding or failing, begins in the mind.

      Delete
    2. what are you guys talking about? Lin made into the nba despite many hindrances and discrimination. people calling him garbage at time. and you're saying he's weak minded and needed psychologist? WOW

      Delete
    3. Maybe he doesn't want to let go of that awkward jumpshot his basketball fan dad taught him. To relearn his jumpshot would be disrespecting his father who taught him terrible fundamentals.

      Delete
  29. JLin is playing like an idiot. What's wrong with him.

    ReplyDelete

    1. mental block... he's playing intimidated.

    3. Give the boy and oxygen mask. He still huffin and puffin from the Spurs game.

      Delete
    4. Lin looks fine to me! If you are talking about 0-3, and why Lin is only taking three-pointers tonight, I don't know. But other than that he is taking care of the ball and dishing it to his teammates. Not his fault if they don't finish.

      Delete
    4. Yeah, he should do that. It's normal. But if he's not making shot try something else but not an airball.

      Delete

Hehe, he just wanted to pump up his assists and 3pt shooting%.

    But now he ain't playin'.

  39. I heard "lin to the basket for two" but the score is still 50 after I heard that? it didn't go through?

    ReplyDelete
  40. nice, Jeremy, such a big difference when he decides to attack rather than just standing in the corner and shooting a 3.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I understand his thought process, though.

Eventually, to become a truly elite PG, he MUST learn to hit open 3s. And once he hits one or two, the whole court will open up to him.

See, he just made a TO because he was afraid to shoot the 3.

      Delete
  41. Harden loses his handle too easily. He has to concentrate ugh

    ReplyDelete
  42. plz get the ball out of the hands of harden!

    ReplyDelete
  43. oh...no that turnover by harden is miserable...
I see he tend to control the ball too much in this game..I think I didn't see him pass any ball to lin, but I saw Chanlder did pass couple..

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow Durant scoring at will on Lin

Why is he guarding KD anyway

    ReplyDelete
  45. oh..sue..that pass from lin catch by durant...lol

    2. been take out every quarter. 1st, 2nd. probably3rd and 4th also.

      Delete
    3. He's the point guard. He's held to a higher standard when it comes to ball-handling. That was a baaad TO.

A charge or a high risk/reward pass is okay. McHale will leave him in. But that pass had no chance whatsoever...he should have just shot a jumper (hit or miss).

He already has 6 assists and only 2 TOs, but Jeremy can be even better than that..

      Delete
    4. That was a situation where Lin had to shoot out of the double team, but I think Lin is a player who instinctively prefers a high risk pass to a high risk jumper.

      Delete
    5. That was an ALL-risk pass, though. No daylight whatsoever. At least with a jumper, you have a chance at a rebound.

      Delete
  47. Harden TO
    Lin TO
    Parsons TO

    TO TO TO

And Everyone Is Getting Into Foul Trouble!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lol dumb ass TO from Parsons...Does he gets benched?

    Nope.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. lol with the way they are playing the whole starting 5 should be benched.

      Delete
    2. I see this in every game also. Harden and Parsons are somehow immune from this "bench the bitch" rule Houston seems to implement. It's detrimental to the team. Players must be allowed to develop confidence and chemistry which can only be built up with regular substitution patterns.

      Delete
    3. Honestly,

I wouldn't mind if Rockets lose. But I wish the coaching staff will show some consistency. I want to see the Rox play team basketball and good defence. Oh and of course Lin being allowed to play point. Rest Harden and Parsons and allow some of the younger players to play significant minutes even if they screw up here and there.

      Delete
  49. ALdrich giving away free points.

    ReplyDelete
  50. LMAO Harden...

Just throw in the towel now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. don't see harden getting pulled for that lousy pass.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hahaha was that euro step by westbrook in Harden's face?

    ReplyDelete
  53. "We have the best officials in the world"

"Yeah but they're not here tonight..."

    LOL, good one.

    ReplyDelete
  54. This is why Mchale is a terrible coach at times, his lack of trust in lin playing through his mistakes will always result in oppts. going off offensively...they are up 15 bc of subbung in TD and the like

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not just that. If a coach is picking on a player - the play gets more and more nervous to the point when he cant play anymore and totally loses his swag.

How often has it happened already? JLin -> bench opponents -> taking off.

      Delete
    2. I feel his subs of Lin would make more sense if it was a Lowry/Dragic situation where both the starter and backup can play. Unfortunately, TD is rarely more reliable than Lin and Harden has been iffy with his passing tonight.

      Delete
  55. it'll be a tough 2nd half with the team in foul trouble and only shooting 27% from the 3 pt line.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wow, they got really abused in the last 10 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Half time observations:

    - Harden still ineffective against OKC in every way
    - Lin is still making dumb TOs, but 2 is better than 5 by this time yesterday, otherwise he is doing fine
    - Parsons still can't make plays
    - We are 18pts behind...Once Lin is gone it was like 12-0 scoring run

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'd like to add that Sefolosha is really under-appreciated. I can see why Harden was behind him in the pecking order. A real menace of a guard.

      Delete
    2. Its not the first time that this has happened...

      Lin -> bench
      opponents -> taking off

      Delete
  58. 15pts lead..can they pull it off???..poor harden, Definitely felt he wants this really bad..too bad rockets can't help him get it even this second time..this game is not so fun to watch now..I hope jeremy come out and play more harder in 3rd and 4th.
let see how the coach gonna sub players in the 3rd and 4th.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Harden is a part of the reason they r losing...lin must be in control of the ball or the team will inevitably collapse from a offensive/defensive like what you are seeing...

      Delete
    2. I just know from what I watch..he try to make many shots..as many as he can...I see most of the time the ball is in his hands...I definitely see he is a player that try really hard and I have respect for that..but I do also think he tend to control the ball a little bit too much..

      Delete
  59. Does anyone have any insight into what's going on with Greg Smith? Is he under the weather? This is the second game in a row with limited PT. It's not like his production is poor.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Who understand Mchale? Only himself. I'm tired of this. I thought it was over after that run. I guess not.....

    ReplyDelete
  61. what really frustrating from a intellectual stand point is how Mcfail does not have the team ready for how to deal with a hi pick n roll offense from Westbrook/Durant

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. he doesnt even know his own player's ability. so don't expect him to know other teams player ability. Annoying really but he's the coach.

      Delete
    2. you know what...now that you said that, I can see that..smh

      Delete
  62. wow harden forcing it and what is aldrich doing in the court? 3 fouls in four minutes. Whats wrong with mchale. Aldrich is now better than smith and Asik??

    ReplyDelete

    1. Mchale is a moron from a coaching stand point

    2. Aldrich is better at getting himself into foul trouble

      *~laughs through a waterfall of tears~*

      Delete
    3. I cant blame Aldrich all that much, I have to agree that the coaching on this team ALWAYS finds the opportunity to rear its ugly head. I sincerely hope this issue is resolved or plz get a new coach

  63. rockets getting eaten...and the thing thunder don't even look like they're trying

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True, they are not playing hard, they are just watching Rockets self destruct.

      Delete
  64. Well, this is the NBA. Still a looooong way to go.

If any guards can get hot and lead this poorly coached team back into it, it's Lin and Harden.

    ReplyDelete
  65. McHale is so reactive towards Lin but yet he's OK with others fucking up and willing to have TD in there and see the Thunder go off on a huge scoring run.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. SMH...the thing that is perplexing to me is how Mchale rather put TD in "KNOWING" that like Tony Parker last night, Westbrook will go off offensively

      Delete
  66. Jeremy is not really a 3pt shooter. He can be a rhythm 3pt shooter like in NYC. However, he needs to make a couple of 2s usually before he gets his shot and can start pumping 3s. This offense is just not set for his game but Lin will learn to adapt. His 3 shot will come. One good note is that he is shooting and finishing an amazingly high percentage of his 2pt opportunities.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Strange substitutions again. Not sure why parsons is not pulled for 3 TO's before the half. Back to the substitutions is there a method to his madness? shrug I sure don't get it. Seems like he's looking for better match ups but ever time I see who's comes in and out and the times I scratch my head.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Lin only can attack the basket ! How come he doesn't play like other pg to make more mid- jump shot instead of going to the basket all the time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think part of the problem is the philosophy that 3pts and layups are best by Morey. This is what the data says but his data does not always play out. Kind of like walks in baseball are only good when there is clutch hitting behind it.

      Delete
    2. he has a very high percentage 2 pt shot around the paint. I'd like to see him do more of those pull up jump shots and floaters. He's struggling with his 3pt shot big time this year. That's disapointing because I thought that was what he worked on a lot. Well he will pick it up, but I suspect he may need to tweak his release this summer.

      Delete
  69. Harden-ball is losing this game. Lin sits and OKC goes on huge runs. TD is a -20. Rockets offense slows to a grind when Lin sits because Harden is a ball-stopper and TD just chucks up shots like no tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I've been noticing this too. Not a bad +/- for Lin at all.

      Delete
    2. that's due to good subbing by mchale

    3. I've been noticing this too. Not a bad +/- for Lin at all.

  70. This game was already over in the first half. It's like watching a dog chase his tale, Rockets score a layup, Thunder score two layups and a three.

    ReplyDelete
  71. At half time, Spurs bench produced 19 points vs 5 from Rockets bench and 4 blocks by Thunder, Harden is 4-12 field goals. However, Morris is 6-8 fga and top scoring for Rockets with 16 points. Rockets can pull it back by keeping Morris shooting, Harden has to improve and Lin might take more shots.

    ReplyDelete
  72. The ROx idea of a half court offence is playing hot potato lol

    ReplyDelete
  73. Morris -> best Rocket man tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Omg! Lin got so many bad TO. What is he doing ?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Man, this is massacre. And I see a lot of Rox players standing around doing nothing.
