  1. Lets go Jeremy!!!..I know you will be great tonight.

  2. Godspeed Jeremy and the Rockets!

  3. Lin fell down off the pick and took some time to get up. Nuggets are outhustling Rockets to every loose ball. They can't give up those hustle points.

  4. James Harden epic fail with his iso driving game.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I am gonna go crazy if the Rockets big men continue to ruin Lin's assists. And Parsons and Harden want to run the offense instead of Lin but rack up turnovers at a rapid rate!

    ReplyDelete
  6. OMG... Parsons is terrible. He has received two or three outlets, brought the ball up and turned it over.

The first 7 minutes of this game are disturbing. What did we do the last 3 days? Wrong guys getting outlets. Harden not giving up the ball soon enough when doubled. Patterson out on the 3 point line. Can't they at least set an on ball for Jeremy in transition... he just brings it up and swings it. Awful. meanwhile JLIN has three assists...

  7. How many times did Harden lob an alley oop pass to Asik, and Asik goes "WTF are you doing? I don't do that!"

    1. Harden mistakenly thought that Asik had the athleticism of Ibaka. Haha.

  8. If you have an 80 mill toy and a 25 mill toy, you would be using and testing out your 80 mill dollar toy too...

I think Lin should have the ball more in the half court set to survey it and take on some PnR's but the coaches feel Harden does it better.
They might not be wrong either...we just favor Lin because he's Lin.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well let them try out the new toy and experiment. Sooner or later they will find out who is the best person to run that offense. Even NY spent half a season to find out last year lol.

  9. Lin is the only player in the starting lineup with assist and no turnover.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Rockets not allowing Lin to run the offense. Instead making Harden the playmaker. Aldrich only got one touch in the low post.
Nuggets big men are dominating the paint. Rockets settling for too many outside jumpers.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The Rockets have some very limited players who have no understanding of their limitations. And McHale is allowing those guys to "PLAY"... McHale should be assessing their limitations and defining each of their roles. Patterson NO threes... you swing the ball and set on balls. 15 feet in only. Morris same. Parsons limited touches. You are Landry Fields ... get your ass down the court. Spot up. DO NOT TURN THE BALL OVER OR YOUR ASS IS ON THE BENCH.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If only the Rockets had someone as athletic as McGee for Lin and Harden to throw the alley oop...

    ReplyDelete

    1. The Rockets will be adding someone to their roster, if not this year, this summer for sure. Do not worry about that.

Let's just hope Lin gets to be Lin eventually in this offense instead of just a decoy and spot up shooter.

  13. This is what I thought would happen. Rockets coaching staff is minimizing Lin and forcing it to Harden every time down the court. It's not working.

Lin's the only guy who made anything happen in that first quarter. He is a MUCH better playmaker than Harden, stupid to take the keys from him and just have him sit in the corner.

    1. We all see it here, but what can you do....they think Lin stinks or there's something they don't see in him.

However, I will say Douglas is being more dominant and not giving up the ball to Harden every time as Lin seems to do. Perhaps Lin is just deferring too much on his own and needs to hold onto the ball more as the floor general. I hope that is not the case, but that is what I tend to see with Lin. It may be he is giving it up on his own accord much too early and often.

      Delete
    2. I don't think it's Lin deferring, more like he is just following coaches' order. The Rockets talked about making Harden the focal point all along in these few off days, especially that assistant offensive coach Sampson. I think Sampson is the one who doesn't like and trust Lin.

      Delete
  14. Rockets are really getting killed by 2nd chance points. Not grabbing the rebound after misses.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Why is Tony Douglass getting almost every outlet and multiple pick and roll opportunities to start the offense and lin doesn't?...

    ReplyDelete
  16. harden is not doing well this game.

    ReplyDelete
  17. No wonder Asik get so many rebounds. He always needs 2-3 tries at least to rebound his own misses lol. Yeah one can pad his rebounding numbers this way!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Turnovers by Harden is killing the Rockets

    Stop hogging the ball James

    ReplyDelete
  19. i think we might need to trade jeremy

    ReplyDelete
  20. Seems like Rockets are regressing as a team in the way they play. Lawson seems headed to score 30 and 10 assists today.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The Rockets are not using JEremy at all

    ReplyDelete
  22. Omar with double double already, he's gonna have monster numbers if no steps up, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  23. People need to get a pair of glasses and stop blaming Lin for turnovers! The Rockets had 9 and Lin had 0!

    ReplyDelete
  24. why is lin not doing any pnr....all he does is passes to harden...makes no sense.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yup and he seems content with it. I never questioned his abilities, the thing i'm most concern with it's his too nice attitude and team first, me second. He need a little bit of ego to succeed. He doesn't seem to be someone who will speak up when things go wrong.

      Delete
  25. Too many missed 3's. Rockets don't look like they want to win this game. That 3 Stooges mistimed rebound says it all, the players don't know their role, or each other on this team.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jeremy has been solely used as a shooter.

    He needs opportunities to Drive.

    Parsons was TERRIBLE

Harden keeps on chucking and ball hogging

Denver played last night and Rockets had 4 days of rest. Unfortunately, it doesn't look that way.

    ReplyDelete
  27. the announcers were correct. Houston is overthinking how to execute instead of playing loosely. The crisp ball movement from previous games were clearly missing in the first half.

Harden's shooting is off tonight so they need to trust Lin to make the decision more. Terrible coaching for not making quick adjustment. The 15pt lead is getting dangerous now.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Does McHale even know how to coach?

USe Lin in the pnr more and not isolate Harden, postup Asik ?

    ReplyDelete
  29. only 6 FT attempts at the half. Not gonna cut it. They need 20-25 per game to win. 67% free throws made. below average. Assists and steals are on par. Still got hope to win, but got to get the free throws up. Just started watching, not sure if the refs are not calling fouls today or what?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The league is making an effort to just let the players play the game this season and not hand out freebie fouls. This is actually a good thing as it protects the integrity of the game since they have to work for their shots and not go to the foul line because someone nearby breathed on them.

      Delete
    2. @bluedreamz, that's b.s. They ended up with i think around 23 attempts, more then denver with better percentage. They lost today because they couldn't make their baskets down the stretch. Very winnable game though.

      Delete
  30. LET LIN RUN THE SHOW! What's going on???? Harden is stone cold right now and they have to adjust.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They just need to go on a 10 game losing streak where they realize force feeding Harden and having everyone stand there watching Harden will not work. Once they come to that conclusion, they will go back to what they were doing in the pre-season and hopefully Lin will have more opportunities...

If not, prepare to be frustrated Lin fans and hit up Morey's email account to express your displeasure at Lin's new Avery Johnson type role.

I still say give it 2-3 months till all star break. If Lin becomes the Asian Avery Johnson, that's what it is.

Lin clearly works the PnR with Asik much better, but the coaches want to force the Asik Harden PnR....I'll give Harden a month to figure it out...If it still looks how it does today, I'm blaming the coaching staff.

Lin is being short changed by the Rockets coaching staff right now but he did himself no favors by looking like crap in pre-season.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't think 10 game losing streak will help anything. They would just say Harden need more help and need more max money type stars which is also true. But they just won't give Lin the keys because the whole franchise just rate him as an average PG like his salary indicated.

  33. Just came home and got a glimpse of the last 2 mins of 1st half. This is no longer the Houston Rockets. It's more like the Houston James Harden. Shots after shots after shots. JLin's doing the same old boring offense scheme "run the ball up mid court, pass it to JHarden and run to the corner, and never get the ball back until he rebounded the ball back" Did you all see that? Even when JLin was wild open at the corner, JHarden didn't even give him the ball. I don't know about you all but it's tough for me to watch JLin regress to this level of offense. 1st Half = epic fail!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. that's what my question was in the previous thread - why JLin just stood in the corner, and watches Harden play? Coach's order? or what?

      Delete
  34. im late. What the hell is happening? 15 points lead? Is Denver just a good defender or do we just suck?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Those so called Rockets analysts and fans on twitter are horrible. They would just look at Lin's numbers and saw he scored 2 pts. But in truth Lin hardly got any opportunities to run the offense other than spot up shooting which is his biggest weakness. If they are going to use Lin just as a spot up shooter like a Derek Fisher, Morey should go sign someone else and trade Lin.

Also they are blaming Lin's D on Lawson. But Lin held Lawson to 3 pts in 1st quarter. Not until Douglas came in that Lawson started to get hot and then Lawson just continued to score on Lin because Lin wanted to help out on those althletic Denver big men. But those people would just say Lawson burn Lin and trash Lin's D.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You guys have to be realistic here too...it is not clear at all in reality that Lin can be more effective with the ball in his hands than Harden can on THIS team with THIS coaching staff's philosophies. It's be nice if Harden tweaked his ankle so we could see Linsanity 2.0 but not going to happen on this team even if Harden got hurt.

The coaches are going to go with the highest paid guy since it's just logical, just as it was logical to assume Lin was garbage since he was Asian and undrafted.

Truth is, aside from some lead passes, Lin is doing nothing exceptional right now either. He is shaky with the dribble, not getting foul calls on drives so they amount to misses/turnovers, and you want the coaches to hand the ball to Lin over Harden? It's just not going to happen as much as I want it to...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Every time Lin shoots, his shooting form doesn't look stable to me. I do agree with you though that Lin is giving up opportunities to shoot, unlike Douglas who is looking to score when he has the ball in his hands.

  37. Something is wrong when your worst offensive player is leading in points. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. The stupidity of the Rockets' coaching staff is unbelievable. Haven't they realize that they are running the same ineffective plays for Harden since the 2nd half of the Portland game.

We all know that HArden is not point guard. He holds the ball too long.

Use Lin or trade him. Lin is wasting his talents
in this pathetic team. Woodson is even using Lin's talent even more. SMH at this offense.....

I knew the Rockets were not the best choice......

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why is Harden bringing the ball up every time with Jeremy just sitting in the corner?

    This is seriously infuriating...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Denver is just daring Lin to shoot long jumpers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why wouldn't they? No one is scared of his jumpshot.

    3. If you were guarding Lin, what do you think *he* would do? ;)

    4. He would blow by and dunk on me. :)

  41. This is tough to watch. Jeremy is playing like dog crap.

    ReplyDelete
  42. lin is not making his shots either

    ReplyDelete
  43. Denver drew the first blood on Asik. Hope it wakes the Rox to attack. Noone is playing well other than Asik.

    ReplyDelete
  44. lin seems like he has no confidence at all.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The entire offense looks too tentative and is turning it over or passing up good shots.

They need to ATTACK more. That includes Jeremy -- attack and put up some floaters. The 3s ain't falling.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jeremy is just not a good 3 point shooter at the moment. He should not be used as one either.

    ReplyDelete
  47. This is so ugly. At least JLin is having a decent game. It's in the statbooks forever now, but re: Lin's no-call foul by Koufos (contact was made in midair, Koufos took off and remained in the restricted area, 3:55 left in 2nd), the least they could have done was give him an assist :) Instead we have a missed shot.

It doesn't bother me that JLin's missed both 3's; at this point, I'm just glad he's taking them.

    ReplyDelete
  48. lin role...take the ball up pass to harden so he can do the playmaking..

    ReplyDelete
  49. Jeremy is not even involved in the offense

    Stupid Coaches......

    ReplyDelete
  50. Maybe Harden's nose is broken, so Lin now has to take charge. :) As badly as Rockets are playing, they are still in the ball game.

    ReplyDelete
  51. houston we have a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  52. i want d'antoni...seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think Rockets' lousy play has infected Denvers, so I think it's Rockets' tactic to lull Denver to sleep and do a sneak attack at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jeremy's Role:

    Shoot open 3s
Bring the ball to the frontcourt then pass to Harden

    ReplyDelete
  55. Jeremy is smart enough to find Patterson twice!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ha, ha, I knew it was Rocket's tactic, to suck first and then lull Denver to sleep and then do a sneak attack. A brilliant tactic. :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Patterson is pretty much the only offense for Houston. Everyone needs to pass to him every possession

    ReplyDelete
  58. 6 Turnovers for Harden.......SMH.........

    ReplyDelete
  59. Just when Rockets could have caught up, Rockets commit TOs.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Let's all admit Jeremy was AWFUL to start that second half. AWFUL. But, I will contend that Jeremy came to play at the start of the game, was the best player for the rockets in the first quarter, and had to wade through a bunch awful decision making make by his teammate. He wasn't able to control the flow and that gets him out of game rhythm. This isn't about getting James Harden off... that can be done ... its about letting Jeremy lead. Jeremy is an Alpha Dog, but he needs the coach to make him the Alpha. Dantonis system made him the Alpah. McHale doesn't understand what make Jeremy go. And he can get that AND get Harden his points if he understand that Jeremy needs to control the flow of the game from the start.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't know about that Alpha stuff, but I do agree that Lin was playing in control at the beginning.

      Delete
    2. agreed. When Jeremy controlled the flow by finding opening and setting up his teammates first then give it to Harden as the second option, the offensive flow was so much better.

The second he sat down, Douglas almost gave back 5 points. Good thing Delfino hit that three to close the 3rd.

      Delete
    3. Linsanity was all alpha. but, you remember all the guys would pass the ball back to jeremy. if fields didn't have it, he gave it back. if novak didn't have it, he gave it back. jeremy passes to parsons and its gone.

      Delete
  61. boring game for me.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think Parsons, Harden and Lin are trying to compete to see who can shoot the worse. :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Okay, it's pretty annoying now. When Lin is in with Harden, they let Harden handle the ball. When Douglas is in with Harden, they let Douglas handle the ball. What logic is this? Are they so desperate to marginalize Lin or want to pop up Douglas? I won't blame Harden for this.

    ReplyDelete
  64. What an ugly ugly game. It's frustrating to watch this rockets team right now. It's like a roller coaster, they bring you up and bring you back down.

This offense chemistry needs work. They need to fix it because it's broke...

    ReplyDelete
  65. See, Lawson is scoreless against Lin in 3rd quarter. But of course they will have Douglas guard him in the 4th and then Lawson will explode. Then they will say Lin play bad D on Lawson.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I don't care if Jeremy is missing his shots, he needs to keep shooting. Let the kid shoot McHale...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jeremy Lin should play the whole damn 4th quarter WDF

    ReplyDelete
  68. If they want to have any chance of winning the game, they have to put in Lin now and get Dougie out.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Use Lin or just trade him

Why sign him if he'll just be a shooter

    ReplyDelete
  70. Why is Jeremy still on the bench?

Even if he doesn't score, his defense, steals and rebounding have been so valuable.

    Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Defense is sloppy and noone can get the offense going for Houston. Whoover can get some sparks in the last 3 min and win the game will be the alpha for Houston.

Lin just checked in at 6:55. Let's see now

    1. Don't expect Linsanity because they're not setting the offense for him the right way

  72. Lin's release on the blocked (?) shot seemed so slow.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Nice screen Parson on Lin so Lawson got free

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jeremy CAN NOT shoot airballs like that period... even if Harden wasn't spacing the floor out and just standing in his way.

    ReplyDelete
  75. im starting to think that lin is only good for passing...maybe this is the best way to use jeremy

    ReplyDelete
  76. I know all us are unhappy that Lin is not running the offense but he seriously needs to hit open shots.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Jeremy's never been a very good outside shooter (and it's doubtful that he ever will be), but this ridiculous. His lack of confidence is making it really bad.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Jeremy doesn't believe in his own shot right now, and it's affecting the rest of his game. Still, he should not be letting Ty Lawson blow by him on the defensive end.

    ReplyDelete
  79. omg, did you all see how easy it was for JLin to take it to Lawson for a layup? Why make it so difficult and do all these crazy 3's? C'mon man, I just don't get it.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Shooting is never Lin's strength though. If they are using him as a space out shooter, you might as well cut him again.

    ReplyDelete
  81. this the lowest i ever felt with lin's game...i am not sure if he has a high upside playing like this...

    ReplyDelete
  82. Khuang is right what can you do when the Denver Nuggets have more higher payed players and deeper bench.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. denver is not playing well either. What's up with all those 3points shot attempt. If asik can score inside with his awful offense im sure the rest of the team can do the same. But no they decided lets shoot those 3's and pray it goes in.

      Delete
  83. Jeremy will not succeed as a shooter. He's a floor general so he needs the ball in his hands.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Harden step back 3 blocked again on the 3 point line. Predictable...

    ReplyDelete
  85. All I gotta say is Jeremy Lin is playing some crazy good D right now

    ReplyDelete
  86. Iggy got away with an blatant offensive foul on Jeremy. Cmon... Jeremy never gets calls.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Fudge, this is pissing me off. Freaking refs only called foul when they saw blood dripping down JLin's nose.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Replies
    1. They might as well not put him back in on offense when they just give the ball to Harden anyway.

Also can the myth of Lin being a bad defender and Douglas being a good defender ever stop? How many points did people score on Lin and how many on Douglas? Are those people and coaches blind?

      Delete
  89. I wonder what Lin could do and how long Lin have to do to prove to coaches and management in this league that he is capable of running an offense as a full time PG, instead of a space out shooter ala 2nd coming of Derek Fisher? His current role reminds me of that when he's in GSW. They just wanted him to play D and space the floor for Monta and Curry then and Harden now.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I know it was the pre season but the ball moved so much better and everyone was getting good shots. Even if Lin did not shoot well, everyone was contributing and came up with a win.

    ReplyDelete
  91. You don't drive it to the basket when Faried is guarding you! DAmnit Harden

This loss is on Harden and McHale. Too much hero ball and Harden turnovers.

    2. Most people will blame Harden for not playing smart basketball. Lin at least played smart, even though his shooting percentage as usual sucked. Harden is acting like he's MJ.

  95. GAME OVER!!!! SMH.....

I blame the incompetent Coaching staff

Just TRADE Lin if he's just to space the floor. McFAIL makes Woodson look like a genius in terms of using Lin.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Woodson used Lin very intelligently in terms of highlighting his strengths and mitigating his weaknesses at PG that Lin had revealed in the last games under D'Antoni. Too many Lin fans just got swept up in the misguided notion that Woodson would take the ball from Lin to pay attention to how well Lin was actually being coached by Woodson.

It may have helped Woodson in coaching Lin that Woodson was a guard while McHale was a PF.

When the game was in doubt, Woodson trusted Lin to dominate the ball. Think back to that physical, tough 76ers game where Lin was 1-11 through 3Qs, but Woodson gave the ball to Lin to take over in the 4Q. Lin then won the game ... while Anthony and Stoudemire were with him on the court.

That's the kind of cache Lin had with the Knicks and Woodson. He's going to have to build his cache back up with McHale.

      Delete
  96. Rockets do not look like a well coached team. I gonna look at McHale's past coaching experience. They play with no energy outside of like 2 players.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Game over. Lin played good D and gave it his all, and didn't get calls on fouls. It's just that I felt from the preseason that Lin is not a good jump shooter; and if this is the case, he will have a very tough time scoring. Also, for some reason (coach's order or Lin deferring to Harden), Lin passes the ball to Harden and goes to the corner, whereas Douglas doesn't do this. I rather see Lin try to make a play, even when he's not shooting.

    ReplyDelete
  98. All I have to say is don't expect Rockets were going to play like a veteran all star team this season.

Preseason was preseason. This is the real deal.

This is the time we all Lin fans must support him the most and go through the grind, struggle, and frustration with him.

    ReplyDelete
  99. The Rockets need more pick-n-pop plays for Lin and Patterson.

Give Lin the damn ball. STUPID COACHES

    FIRE MCFAIL.....

      Delete
    2. Sweet Bluedreamz... these coaches have had 13 games and all the linsanity tapes to figure out what JLIN does best. they don't understand it. and most fans don't either. if I were I GM or coach... I would be trying to recreate Linsanity. What was the formula. Why was Jeremy successful. NONE of these guys are doing this. I'm sure they could have found themselves a catch and shoot guy to compliment LIN like NOVAK. Or they could tell Parsons get out on the break... YOU do NOT handle the ball on the break! ... but they aren't. And why aren't they? The all think its a fluke. McHale and the coaching staff aren't down with Jeremy. You can tell. They had 3 days of practice and they got worse.

      Delete
    3. Look at tapes of how Woodson used Lin, instead.

While the Lin/Anthony duo was only just starting to come together when Lin was lost with the knee injury, Woodson was actively implementing ways for Anthony and Lin to play with and off each other, rather than just taking turns iso'ing.

Granted Anthony is a F and Harden is a G, and figuring out the naturally complementary G/F combo is easier than figurig out a redundant G/G combo. And Anthony wasn't a ball handler so he could not displace Lin at PG, while Harden is a ball handler who can displace Lin at PG. But Woodson thoughtfully blended Lin with Anthony. McHale could learn a lot from how Woodson used Lin.

Let him attack the basket. Run some high pick and rolls for him. Stop letting Harden play hero ball.

This loss is on HARDEN AND MCHALE. Nobody played great, but Jeremy was the biggest reason the Rockets even had a chance. Him and Patterson.

    1. I actually agree. I have seen enough of Lin to know that Lin can set a good tempo and be a good leader and pass well, even though I have no confidence in Lin's shooting. Harden and McHale lost this game, and Lin should not defer to Harden, unless McHale told him to; but I don't see Douglas defer. One thing I have to say for Dougie: Even though he sucks, he keeps on shooting.

    2. Agree...

      Lin-Patterson Combo was effective

    3. Ha, very true. That's also why I like Toney Douglas. He takes so much hate (much of it deserved), but he keeps on being aggressive.

    4. At least, Dougie plays like he doesn't give a shit. :)

  103. Jeremy will gain back his shooting confidence...still believing...but this is not a good time to watch even worst compare to portland..Douglas even sub for lin several time in 4th quarter.

  104. Finally I saw a Rockets game. They look like they don't even run an offense, it's just give it Harden and see what happens. Bad, bad, strategy. Need to pick for Lin and let him create, but could use a quality 3,4, or 5 man. Parsons does not look nearly as killed as his highlights show.

When lost the game one thing should never do is blame a particular person...it's a team game..remember that..it's not a good thing and effective to blame who..will even ruling the team chemistry more, that's why I disagree with some of you blaming any one. They should see the problem together and solve it together. They need to on the same page.

    1. I am proud of Lin actually, the way he fought, even though he didn't get calls. He played with heart and played good D. I could see the determination -- that's all you can ask.

    2. Agree

They run the exact play since the 2nd half of the portland game. what is the result? 2 losses

If McFAIL haven't realize why they lost the 2 previous games then he is really that stupid.

      Harden makes Melo look unselfish
McFAIL makes Woodson look like an offensive GENIUS
      LOL at this Rockets Organization
Maybe Les ALexander should coach the team since he believes in LIN more than anyone

    3. I have a hard time believing Rockets practiced during last 3 days. They need to sit down and have a serious talk among players. I have seen this aspect of Harden during his OKC days. You may remember that I said Harden can jack up shots all day and keep on driving even when he gets blocked.

  109. Igoudala shoves Lin to the floor on the the fast break, then dunks the ball. Story of the night.

6'-10" Gallinari backing down on Lin, Lin not giving him an inch, forces him into a bad airball shot and a turnover. That was the best play of the night.

    1. GREAT GREAT GREAT CALL! ... there's are a reason you make a 6th man a sixth man. Vinny Johnson didn't start for that reason either. Sixth men are black holes. They become the sixth man because the coach recognizes this and knows they wont fit with the starters... EVER.

Bottom line... JLIN doesn't play well with other ball dominators who play his style. it moves him off the ball and we have Golden State Warriors 2.0.

    1. Harden is now starting for a team and teams are going to try to stop him. He is going to have to adjust like Lin. Both of them are starting this season and they would really have to step up. For this team to succeed, it needs to have good ball movement. Although Harden had 2 great games, we did not blow out those teams. It just goes to show how reliant the team is on Harden. With good ball movement, everyone can have good shots .

  112. Lin's numbers actually look pretty good except his 3 point shooting, especially considering he run almost no plays. The Rockets want him to become the next Derek Fisher/Mario Chalmers and he's just being that. :-)

  113. Lin kept.shooting even when he was missing shots. That's what I want to see. Very good game from Jeremy!! Hit those 2 free throws with ease. And defense tonight was spectacular

Did anybody else see about 10:30 left in 3rd quarter when Jeremy gets the ball and ignores Harden when he calls for the ball just like what Harden had been doing to Jeremy throughout the game.

  114. 33- 3 pt attempts is just way too much. Low percentage shot selection. The rockets only shoot 3's or layups. What happened to 8-12 footers??? Lin is not shooting shorter range jump shots like when he was in NY. Strange...

    ReplyDelete
  115. Seriously, what is wrong with JLin. The team is so discombobulated right now. Is Lin chasing so hard after Ty Lawson that he's rendered offense-less. What happened to his shot? What happened to the dribble penetration and taking it to the basket? Though there was one when he took it to Lawson for a layup. JLin's game is unrecognizable. JLin certainly turned up the heat on defense towards the end. What happened to the defense in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters for the entire team. Also, why is JLin dropping off the ball to Harden every time he brings the ball up and then camps out at the corner. Where's JLin's high pick and roll. Where's the pick and roll period. JLin needs to stop giving the ball to Harden when bringing up the ball. He needs to do what he normally does and see the floor and see where the opportunity is. Bring the pick and roll back with the 5, Asik, or the 4 like Patterson, Morris or someone. Dumping it to Harden every trip down the floor is predictable and rigid.

    1. Also, if JLin can't make 3s why doesn't he just try for a mid-range, floater, or something closer. It's like he's there to only shoot 3s and drive to the basket once in a while and nothing else. What happened to the rest of his game. I love JLin but his game is nonexistent right now.

      Delete
    2. I agree. He has two options for himself in his comfort zone; shoot a three pointer or go for a layup. He won't develop his offense game until he tries to do that in real game situation. Besides that, he just rocked on all other categories which was a big plus. 5+ on steals, rebs, assist? are you kidding me?! wow.

      Delete
    3. When I said what happened to the rest of his game I meant offensively. I think he shouldn't just settle for 3s and layups. I agree his steals were good but came to late. I like his rebounding for a guard and his assist were good as well.

      Delete
    4. Racha, I was saying from the beginning that the lack of variety in his jump shots was worrying me. To me, he could be taking many relatively easy shots if he did (or could do) what you described.

  116. I hope Denver would blow out this Rockets team instead of keeping it close. Right now it might just give the Rockets coaches false hope that maybe next game Harden will shoot better and they see no problem in their game plan.

  117. If Kevin McFail continues this type of "offense," it might be a long year for both Houston and Jeremy Lin.

I wonder if Lin is having second thoughts about leaving New York.

  118. Only positives (the negatives make me nauseous):

Lin was awesome* second half, great 3rd quarter and flashes of his old self in the 4th. The D on Gallinari... pwn'd!!! Please, let this give him his confidence back.

PPat was brilliant. I hope he keeps this up.

CP... I've read a bunch of the comments above so I know what the going vibe is... pretend his line tonight belonged to Lin in any previous game and imagine how you would be spinning it. I still think he can do better, but I liked his effort and production.

Delfino has no conscience, and that's a good thing.

Cole Aldrich, I wish we picked up your option, I think you have a future.

*yeah yeah, so maybe he airmailed an open 3... only positives, remember?

    1. Nom, I like some of your takes... but you can't judge anybody by stats... particularly Parsons. Parson completely ruins flow for LIN and the starters. He had 2? 3? TO's in first quarter that were brutal. He just doesn't have a natural feel for when its his turn (which should only be catch and shoot, fastbreak, the RARE pick and roll maybe once a quarter). And, he should have NO TO's. Some guys can have them. LIN, HARDEN. but not Parsons. he should not be a creator and turning the ball over. But this is on McHale... this is coaching. Finding out your players limitations and holding them responsible for not playing outside their limitations.

  119. Refs called fouls on the Rockets, but not on the Nuggets. Lots of missed layups, which looking at the replay were hard fouls and bumps under the basket.

Regardless, it was a TEAM loss. Houston came out slow and sloppy in the 1st half, then had to dig themselves out of a double digit hole the rest of the game. They never led in this game. Didn't attack the rim, and settled for too many 3 pointers ... which they are Terrible at.

  120. Finally 4 min left..time out..Lin said..let me run the damn offense McHale.
Harden will ball out when caught on fire but can’t lead the team.
This coaching staff will never learn even though Lin played his heart out with 4 min left.
It broke my heart to see how much Lin wanna win as a team.

  121. I didn't get to see this game because I was playing (I mean "working" - REALLY!)

I've been the ultimate flip flopper on Lin's errant jump shot. I've made no secret of my dislike of Doc Scheppler's shooting coaching, and I was afraid that Lin would start the season with a prolonged shooting slump that had nothing to do with his knee.

    So here we are.

My thing is that Lin has a jerky release because he's not going up straight. His legs are turned one way and his body is turned another. It's a two stage release, and it looks uncomfortable to me.

Because Lin is so corkscrewed, he's exerting way too much energy in his shot. This results in a low arc fastball release that is flat and has no rotation. At least that's what I've been seeing this year.

I'd like to see Lin bend his legs, turn his body a bit more sideways to the left, and go up with one fluid soft motion. That's how he shot during Linsanity, likely becausr he was playing with no mind to his coaching. He can easily get his touch back if he went back to his natural mechanics.

No more flipflopping for me. I'm not pleased with Lin's girly shot as learned from Doc Scheppler.

    3. I think the bigger issue at hand is how few attempts Lin got this game and how coaching staff is effectively making Harden a PG with Jeremy being relegated to an off-the-ball spot up shooter or decoy in the corner.

Early in the game the announcers put up a quote from the assistant coach where he said the offense is not a democracy and Harden will get most the shots. So they are forcing it to Harden over and over even if he's playing horribly.

This sounds worse than Lin's situation in NY. Even with Melo and the rest Jeremy still ran the offense. Now he's being handcuffed.

  122. Why everyone of you sees that Lin should be in control of the offense and be the floor general, and the coaches still don't see/realize it?

I thought after the last game, they should have learned the lesson, and will let Lin handle the ball.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yeah, they let Lin handle the ball up to half court then dumps it off to Harden.

  123. Strange substitutions by McHale. Takes out players that are hot like Patterson today and kills the momentum. He did the same against the blazers when morris was hot. Also, Who is the pg in this team? delfino, harden, and parsons are all taking the ball down court. Just bad coaching.
