    2. After watching the first 6 minutes into the game, it's clear that Harden was all hype. Without Kevin Durant, Harden is nothing. Too bad Harden actually believed he's better than Durant and got greedy about it. Durant made Harden. Period.

      Delete
    3. I can confidently say that Harden is just a clone of JR Smith. I think JR Smith might even be better because he gets more hangtime in his dunks.

    4. To anyone who is wondering why Jeremy is not attacking the basket.

Jeremy is making $25 million the next 4 years. He doesn't care enough anymore. He just cares about his health and collecting his pay check. Jokes on all of us.

  2. Very excited about this one. Go Rockets~! Go Jeremy and James~!

    ReplyDelete
  3. as mentioned lin is a 95% free throw shooter with the ability to get to the rim but only averages 3 attempts at the line? is this lin or the coaching staff?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Why is Jeremy bringing the ball past half court up to not even attempt to attack the basket? He's making a shovel pass to James Harden and all his other team mates every time. That's running the offense? Come on. It's also too bad the only Rockets big man that knows how to set a screen is sitting on the bench(Monetjunas). Come on set screens for Jeremy so we can get some pick and roll action going and bring back Linsanity.

    1. That's fine if the ball swings back to Lin, but the Rockets don't move the ball well as a team. Pretty much one pass and shoot.

    1. Houston takes it a step further and pays Chicago $10 million to take back Asik.

      Delete
    2. And that still might be enough so Houston decides to also throw in 1st Round pick in the Draft to seal the deal.

      Chicago recieves:
      Omar Asik
      Cash
      2013 1st Round Pick

      Houston recieves:
      nothing

      Delete
  6. Seems outclassed. Sure wish Lin could throw alley oop to a player like that. Asik is going to get stripped every time he gets the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  7. No one can defend Bosh, and Lin continues to miss open 3's, so he stops taking 3's. He has to shoot open 3s if he's open.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Wow. This is getting ugly already.

Rockets, including Jeremy, having trouble hitting anything.

    Heat, meanwhile, are hitting everything.

    ReplyDelete
  9. going to be a long night for Rockets...

    ReplyDelete
  10. I don't like this version of Jeremy Lin. He's way too passive and timid. He doesn't even look like a threat to attack or do harm to the opposition. Reminds me of his Warrior days.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Jeremy's gotta take it inside. The Heat don't have great blockers inside.

And at home, he might get the whistle if he goes in hard.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Seriously, someone needs to slap him in the face and tell him he's good. Try to make plays man!!! This BS role player shit ain't cool.

      Delete
    2. To be fair, he can't just run pick and roll against the Heat -- they're too good at defending that.

But once he catches the ball wide-open on the 3pt line, he should attack the rim and not just hoist 3s.

      Delete
  12. The Rockets are a mess offensively. And they have no way of matching up with Miami's small-ball uptempo approach.

    ReplyDelete
  13. no offense again. what is Sampson running??? The only offense is pass to harden and shoot 3s only.

    1. I can't watch the game right now, just following on NBA TVcompanion (which sucks) and reading comments here, but I know the Heat were destroyed last night by Memphis, who rained 3's down on them. Maybe the Rockets are trying to follow that gameplan.

      Delete
  14. Lin is not shooting well and he doesn't seem to have that first step anymore. It's frustrating to watch him play uninspired basketball.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. "Uninspired...," that's exactly the word.

Where are all the positive spin doctors? Cara, KHuang, willy nilly... Can you guys really defend this junk?

      Delete
    2. TVN, it's still early in the game. Let's see what Lin will do after his nerves settle and he gets a sense of the game.

xav, "not shooting well" and "doesn't seem to have that first step" are likely related. Lin relies on a lot of lift from his jump in his jump shots, which isn't the case with his free throws. So if his legs aren't right and his lift is inconsistent, that will affect his jump shots, too.

      Delete
    3. Listen TVN and other haters, this is the MIAMI HEAT they're playing.

Since you are so hellbent on FLAMING Lin, you should remember that this is the same Heat team that won the friggin' championship.

Houston is supposed to lose to these guys, and Lin isn't supposed to beat Miami by himself. Besides, nobody knows if Lin is even at full strength!

  15. Man..I am sick to watch this game...Rockets offense is just ugly..like a street pick up game! lol..J-Lin really needs to step up and be more aggressive! Stop just bring the ball up and pass @@

  16. I'm going to be nice, Miami by 15.

  17. i think jlin is not 100% physically and the organization and jeremy are doing their best to hide it

    2. not 100% physically but what about mentally?

      Delete
    3. It's possible that he reinjured his knee and he's trying to play through it. Not wanting to disappoint the home crowd by sitting out injured. He looks reallllllly slow and off balance out there.

      Delete
  18. I think Houston picked up JLin to be a Steve Novak not a PG.

    1. you will try to find any excuse to not make it lin's fault. reality is he is playing with 0 confidence that isn't houston's fault. he needs to step it up real talk what happen to the jLin from linsanity????

  19. He doesn't attack at all. Seriously what' wrong??

    ReplyDelete
  20. this is so frustrating. I never assumed lin would have the passive scared timid personality. What the heck? I mean, wasn't lin always stepping up to challenges since hs? i can't defend his play so far tonight, just utterly no point for him to be on the court if he's going to do absolutely nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  21. TD playing with more intensity than Lin. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  22. at this rate I would not be surprised to see toney douglas play equal or more minutes than lin...

      Delete
    3. He cannot let this happen

      This is Ridiculous

      Delete
  25. It took 7 minutes and a 20-0 run by the Heat for Coach Sampson to see that Asik was getting killed by Chris Bosh and the team needed a timeout.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lin is totally uncomfortable with this offense. He is clueless on what to do. Because Lin is so nice and unselfish this will keep continuing this whole season. Until he decides to be a bit selfish, he will continue to struggle.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Harden is showing up...Douglas and Harden is looking good. I feel a lot safer with Douglas in their instead of Jeremy for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He doesn't even try to attack, not even once. Too afraid? Coach gameplan? He seems too content now that he got his paycheck.

    ReplyDelete
  29. At some point you've got to stop blaming the scheme or the coaching and just ball out. He's letting outside influences control the way he plays. He needs to just go out and PLAY.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think Lin's Asian personality characteristics of timid and defer mentality comes out way too often. He could end up being benched in this game. He looks like deer in the headlights again. Stephen A. Smith must be orgasming right now!

    3. @888 You can't be serious! These black ball players are ruthless & fearless. You have to be to succeed in the NBA. You'll never amount to anything and soon will be benched if you play scared & timid all of the time. Did you just start watching basketball because of Lin? SMH!

Being racist to your own people is still being a racist!

      Delete
    8. Apocalypse, if you think Jeremy is timid, OK fine, that's your take. But don't blame that on your perceived notions of what you think Asian personalities are. Again, seeing how you respond to me, it says more about yourself than anything else. And no, I haven't just started watching basketball because of Lin, but I definitely follow it more now because of Lin.

    9. I'm not being racist to my own kind. We're not known as the silent majority for nothing. I'm just saying it's stereotypical about us & Lin has to stop doing this or he'll be run out of the league. We don't get many chances in the major sports so we have to prove & attack every chance we get.

    10. @Apocalypse:

So youre a banana? Yellow on the outside but white on the inside? You are ashamed to be asian so you insult all other asians? Racism against ones own race? Thats the most pathetic kind of racism there is.

Tell you what -> you dont have the right to insult anyone here but yourself. Dont bother other asians with your inferioty complex. BTW: I speak five languages - among them -> vietnamese. Wanna try me?

    13. @willydilly wtf...being a fan of Lin is one thing (which I am by the way), but being the polar opposite of Steven A. Smith is also detrimental. 31. Lin needs veterans to give him pep talks before tough matchups. There's no one to do that for him in Houston. However, that's no excuse for his play so far in the 1st qtr. He looked really scared out there tonight. Thank Sampson for taking him out - I only wish he had done it earlier.

  34. if Lin is going to dribble the ball up and pass it to someone else he really needs to move around better without the ball rather than just goes and stand in the corner. he looks scared of making mistakes.

    ReplyDelete

      Delete
  37. Either it's the coach telling him to play off the ball and be a jump shooter, or he doesn't want to do anything. I'm inclined to believe it's the coach ... it's simply against his nature and not how he was playing the 1st 2 games.

    ReplyDelete
  38. You are suppose to get revenge against the Heat!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Maybe Lin will end up with 2 points and 11 assists today.

    ReplyDelete

    1. You know, while we usually talk about Lin's ceiling in Nashian terms, he's played more like Kidd this season, ie, more often filling the stat line everywhere but points.

      Delete
    2. I always said Lin is not that good scorer but good passer, and I have seen so far nothing that changes my opinion. He needs to develop more variety of offensive shots.

      Delete
    3. Lin's MO, in college and the Knicks, was to score as much as his team needed him to score, whether that was 10 points or 30 points. Some Lin fans just mistook his Linsanity scoring streak as the norm, when that wasn't his history. Lin could have lit up the Ivy League if he wanted to, but didn't.

      Delete
    4. I know he could have lit it up at Harvard and probably got drafted. But why is he so timid? His personality would be his downfall, if he doesn't change.

      1) Look for Harden and go to side line
      2) Look for others and go to side line
      3) Run some play then pass to Asik
      4) Shoot 3 when time is running out, open (but no momentum)

      5) Oh damn, team turn over, turn back play D

  54. There's a young black ref who's calling EVERYTHING for the Heat after Bosh, Lebron and Wade surrounded him to complain about a call.

Typical NBA BS. That's why I didn't watch before J-Lin.

    5. He was playing for the Knicks, and they're a marquee team that gets good calls even if they're actually bad.

NBA referee favoritism. I often refuse to watch superstar games because of it.

  55. 'd like to see Lin go to the Lakers and reunite with D'Antoni. Gasol for Lin!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Jeremy is showing no ability/desire to beat his man off the dribble. A good point guard creates mismatches by getting by the defender in front of him. Often this is aided by a high screen by a big man, but Jeremy has to initiate this type of break-down. He's dribbling side to side and passing to team mates on the perimeter. His best success comes from beating his man at the top of the key then either making a pass to the open man or taking it to the hole.

There is none of this going on right now. I hope that it is just his knee and that it WILL get better as he heals, but right now he is tentative. When he doesn't have the ball he just stands in the corner. When he does get the ball he's just swinging it around to another person for them to create. This is not Linsanity ball!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This is at the direction of the coach. If Jeremy weren't doing what the coaches want, he wouldn't be playing.

      Delete
    2. i hate his tentative play also. other guards can pick up on that and i'm surprised more guys like bayless don't capitalize on whatever the heck is going on him right now.

      Delete
    3. He's playing like the dude in the pick-up game that that feels as if he isn't as good as the other players.

He needs to demand the ball instead of just floating around. Basically, we aren't seeing the alpha male that we saw in NY. I think he's too concerned with being seen as selfish.

      Delete
    4. completely agree. it's like me playing against bigger much better guys in rec ball. I know my limits so i just try to pass and not do anything that might cause a turnover.

      Delete
    5. @TVN :I think it is more than that. I think his confidence is a real issue. Back in ny as a "nobody" Lin could do what he deemed fit because he was fighting for a job and when he exceeded expectations, he was expected to live up to them.
Lin knows the criticisms people have of him and now he is too afraid to make mistakes .
I remember when Lin was asked what he learned in ny, the first thing he said... people. Off court, there must have been some things he experienced that caused him to be suddenly so passive. Lin said he didnt know many people in HOuston. The rockets organisation also does not really have faith in Lin(whether to relive pressure off him intentionally or not). To make matters worst, I do not know if his teammates actually respect him
I am not making excuses for Lin because he is in charge of his own path but he needs someone to wake him up.

      Delete
  57. Lin's fear of shooting is become a serious drag on this offense. He passed up a wide open 3-pointer to pass it to a fully covered Parsons. The couch friends connection is not healthy.

    ReplyDelete
  58. i don't think jeremy is scared to shoot i think jeremy is about helping his team...He wants to win. He doesn't care about points. I think he knows that he can't do it all by himself so he makes that extra pass. Jeremy is playing basketball. Just because it don't seem like he isn't the top scorer, he is doing the little things that will get the win.

Lin is shooting 50% and has 2 turnovers.

Why can't we all just enjoy watching the game without guys like neph hating on people here???

    3. Imagine sitting in the arena next to neph -> he be shouting "we are so bad we are so bad" while wearing JLins jersey. No fan culture at all.

    4. Yah, Guys like Holiday and Jennings are getting 25 or more points.

      Be satisfied with 5 points

    5. @willydilly

Are you really satisfied with this performance?

      I want 20+ points

      I want All-star productions

    6. You can always go follow Holiday and Jennings, neph.

Both are excellent NBA point guards. Nothing wrong with you being their fan.

    7. Idiot

What I mean is Lin is better than those players so he should be scoring more than them.

    8. Jeremy is doing whatever he believes is BEST for the team. With the way I see it, he believes in getting all his teammates involved. If he runs out of options, he takes the shot.

Isn't that the best way to play basketball as a point guard? Look at the stats of his teammates, wouldn't you be proud of him for that??

    9. @neph:

Its dependent on what you expect. I wrote many times earlier (in other threads as well) that I dont expect anything from the rox this year. Its all about development, minor improvements and working out sets, routine, chemistry. Thats all that you can expect from such a team. Guys like Harden can play hero ball and try to make the team look good but with such a system you cant get anywhere. Guys have to develop chemnistry if they wanna make it later in the year. Thats what its about right now.

Im not saying youre wrong to cheer for Jeremy but at this point you have wrong expectations dude. Dont be upset, take a chill pill, lean back...

    10. neph, you just can't stop flaming people with the "idiot" comment.

This is a Jeremy Lin fansite. If other people don't expect as much out of Lin as you do, that doesn't give you the right to flame them.

      Stop flaming people.

    11. Stop flaming people, neph.

Just watch the darn game and try not to flame people. If you don't like what you see from Lin, go follow those other players and STOP FLAMING PEOPLE.

    12. I'm only flaming YOU and no one else

    13. take your own advice and stop flaming neph then

    14. Like I said, just watch the game and ENJOY IT.

Try not to go after anybody here. A Jeremy Lin game is not your little excuse to go after people. There's a good game being played, if you haven't noticed.

      Stop flaming people.

    15. Stay out of this, Glenn.

You're just here to flame people too.

      Stop flaming people.

  62. Bosh just became the latest theft victim of JLin's "Matrix" steal!

  63. i told be patient jeremy is playing basketball...he's not gonna force anything.

  64. OMG thats the LIN we LOVE.. a three..and then get Chalmer to get off his feet....now a steal and an assists to Parson..NICE

    ReplyDelete
  65. Lin for the steal! Nice pass to Parsons!! 6 assists, 1 steal, 2 TOs, 9 points on 2/5 3 points pretty nice game against the Heat!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. amazing....no scoring from Rox's bench so far.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Alright here we go. Lin is looking much more confident in 2nd half...I think the ghost of last year's defeat (or just plain awe of Miami) is finally wearing off. More composed. Nice steal and awesome pass to Parson for the dunk, that's gotta raise morale across the board.

    That's the Lin we know!

  68. Harden doesn't score in the 3rd and they go on a 6-0. is this conincidence?

  69. He missed a free throw.

Now his Ft% will go down for sure. Damn it

    1. Good observation.

I hope that Jeremy Lin scores double figures. He'll need to do that for the Rockets to pull this one out.

  70. Wade is hurt...Though I don't wish injury for anyone, but its all good news for Rockets!!!

  71. lin is playing great basketball...he is involving his teammates, harden is doing the same.

  72. Jeremy getting a breather now -- I actually agree with this. He was VERY active on both ends and he needs to be fresh for the 4th quarter.

  73. It's fun how these clowns say nothing when JLin starts to warm up. I guess they're only interested when he's not doing well. And so they call themselves true JLin fans.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jeremy's taken 6 shots and 5 have been 3's.

Still want him to attack more on offense.

  75. Wow they are winning!! I am super impressed by the Rockets, the Heat played well today. They put pressure on the Rockets stars but there was a lot of ball movement, open looks and people hitting shots. When PPat's got as many shots as Harden you know Harden's not playing as unselfish as people are saying. Lin has been playing smart and that's what we need.
