Jeremy , the fans would be crazy to unexpected surprises and gifts.
That was bittersweet, JLin is nice... I still prefer the Uncle Drew by Kyrie Irving a little more because he went full Nutty Professor on that one...
I checked out the Uncle Drew by Kyrie Irving...it was hillarious!!!
Did you see Kyrie Irving's ball handling skills? JLin game is very different from K.I.Jlin game is more about over power opponents and K.I. game is more finesse.
@EtymologyI agree that JLin is a more physical player compared to Irving. Irving actually is a very good 3pt shooter but Lin is the better finisher in traffic due to his underrated strength and basically his weight. It's like a perimeter player vs a slasher. They are very different. Irving has the same tendencies of Nash while Lin can be compared to Rose, Westbrook, Wall (at least in terms of tendencies).
It is so stupid that it is funny. How can all the reporter missed 6'3" Jeremy lin, now 6'8' HelloKitty Lin!!! I love the part when Jeremy Lin with HelloKitty head was having problem getting into the car, and David told him to hurry up. LOL
... put a big smile on my face :)
Now Obama going to say that he is Miami Heat and he is going to take down HelloKitty. LOL

LOL - come on. Obama is a big sports fan and he talked very respecfully of Jeremy Lin in the past. He only used the Heat/Linsanity thing as a fun analogy as far as I know. After all - Miami Heat is a force in basketball and the Knicks didnt perform well against them (to put it mildly). I think it was in Taiwan when Jeremy said: "Somehow trade for Lebron. Id be willing to trade myself for Lebron". So - JLin gives respect - why shoudlnt we?Anyway - I think its pretty suspicious that this came up just now when it happened way back in what - february? Many sites have just brought this up a few days ago...Jeremy has made it into the NBA with big axx contract - as the star of a team. I no longer care if people make comparisons and talk about him criticly or even negatively - as long as its not racist. We know JLin is awesome. We know people talk about sports. Only time will tell how awesome Jeremy will perform this year and how far the Rockets will get. I got my fingers crossed and hope for the best. Cant wait for the first game. However - if people (Miami/Linsanity) want to insinuate that Obama doesnt like asians -> check out "asian americans for Obama". Check out the dream act. Check out Tammys speech at the 2012 DNC. She is half asian - and she is a heroine!
Plain incompetence on the part of the aide. You'd think for someone who's vetted, & who works for the highest office in the land, s/he'd be more discreet. Asian-american numbers are poised to swing the election. The Pres Office has stepped-up its efforts in building a better relationship with this demographic [What was Kal Penn doing in the White House all that time?] & with a blab, all this could derail. As for the comment, it is what it is. He's pep-talking his democrats, they are going to dominate Romney, he grabbed an analogy. [It's unfortunate that this comment has come to light though. The damage might be that this view of JLin might acquire even more validation now that it SEEMS like the Pres is endorsing it too.]There are people who are offended Pres Obama may have thought a certain way about JLin & yet went on Simmons' podcast later on to attach himself to JLin's popularity.Politicians politick, it's what they do."Anyway - I think its pretty suspicious that this came up just now when it happened way back in what - february? Many sites have just brought this up a few days ago..."If I'm paranoid, I'd be tempted to peg this as some evil Republican plot to split the minority vote, what with the Richard Aoki thing a couple weeks before.
"I no longer care if people make comparisons and talk about him criticly or even negatively..."- It's ridiculous how it's completely lost on people that everytime they invoke Miami against JLin, they are in fact complimenting him. [But it's no fun when the people in question are too...not-bright to understand what they're actually saying.]
I apologize for the politics in this post.[Since I've mentioned Aoki, I feel the need to provide some links to refute the LIES that will come up with a casual Google search.]http://sfbayview.com/2012/fred-ho-refutes-the-claim-that-richard-aoki-was-an-fbi-informant/http://www.sfgate.com/opinion/openforum/article/Where-s-the-evidence-Aoki-was-FBI-informant-3808396.php-No more politics for me. Back to JLin.
Hihi :) We can keep this alive by speculating how JLin is going to vote - or whehter he is going to vote at all :)As for Kal Penn - I love the guy. His ancestors marched with Ghandi - I heard him mention that somewhere and he volunteered to register people to vote during writers guild strike - by knocking on peoples doors - definitely not a galmorous job for an actor. He finally gave up the job on House M.D. to work in the white house. After all - during last election only half of all young people (under 25) voted. That is ashaming and thats why he was working on the youth outreach program.
@ wil I like Kal Penn too. :)Yeah he took a paycut to leave House for the WH job. Could be he truly believed he's making a difference, could be he's paving the way for a political career later on, both valid reasons, & nothing wrong with. The point I'm trying to make by mentioning him is, the Pres had been trying early on to build bridges [yes with the youth, but with Asian-americans too.] AA, with their rise in numbers [over the Hispanic] & socio-economic status, it's beneficial to keep them democrat. I guess my point is, that ridiculous aide just destroyed years of goodwill Pres Obama had tried to build with Asian-americans. Is it sincere? He's a politician, don't know. Is he racist against Asians? Half his family is Asian, he grew up with Asians, likely not. Will it be construed as a racist remark? It might be. [w/c is why that aide really messed-up big time.] What does he really think of JLin? I'm sure we all have our opinions on this, but it's a free country & it's his business.Btw that paranoid comment does not allude to you [Now that I re-read it, just an unfortunate sentence construction.] When I read about this Obama piece on the NYT, that thought actually occurred to me since they are rehashing this now that Nov is approaching, [& I had the Aoki affair on my mind too.]
No problem. I knew you were not referring to me (paranoid). You are way to sweet to do that.
@ wilThx for the benefit of the doubt. [That had better not be sarcasm haha.]As for who JLin will vote for, I don't think he's registered...Anyhow, he should be focusing on training. Some Rockets have started.https://twitter.com/dmorey/status/243802658060767234/photo/1
Do you know when Lin is going to Houston, now that some Rockets have started training?
More info in a couple of days [Surely he'll join them in pre-training camp.]
CBS Sports ranked Lin as 83 Some interesting ranks81 - DeAndre Jordan78 - Luis Scola76 - Varejao75 - Dragic
The DeAndre Jordan ranking was head-scratching. I would have put him around 150
That two handed dunk towards the end of the video is sick. Lin doesn't dunk that much or try to jump too high because he doesn't want to risk injury which is smart. I would bet his vertical would surprise a lot of people. He is a far better pure athlete than Nash.
Probably around 37 inches
How did you get these numbers on his vertical? I've never seen anything on his max vertical?
Just an estimation. When he dunked in Washington, his head were a least 8 inches below the rim. The rim is 120 inches (10 feet) and his head was about 112 inches based from what I've seen. He's about 75 inches ( height) So his head went from 75 to 112. That is about 37 inches. Just an estimate by the way. Trivia:Westbrook's Vertical Leap: 36.5 inches (BUT I'm not sure if this was correct or updated; Maybe this was true in his earlier years). Note: This is just an estimate. I don't want anybody criticizing me over this.
Is vertical leap just the act of jumping without taking a step ? If so, then NBA player's running leap is much higher than their standstill vertical leap. That's probably case with everyone: Rose, Wade, John Wall. Many players are successful in the NBA without ever dunking the ball, e.g. Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Ty lawson. It's just that Jeremy Lin has the size and athleticism to do it.
It was nice to see him dunk. It shows how good he feels. I thought he would avoid doing that for a while as part of recovery - but it shows he is 100%.
Amare talks to Fox Sports Radio. On Lin:Fox Sports Radio: The Jeremy Lin story...overhyped by the media or was he really that good?Stoudemire: Jeremy had a great 15 or 20 games when he played. Those were some pretty phenomenal games and what he did out there was...you can't take nothing from him, so the hype was well deserved. I mean he really played well for us and he put us back in the playoff mind frame. It was great to watch.
Smart answer :)
David Lee’s agent probably had a heart attack seeing him play street ball.It was great to see Lin on the receiving end of an alley oop, because that means his knee is probably fully healed. I hope to see him throw down an alley oop next year. Parsons will owe him one after the dozens that he receives from Lin.
I was shocked to see that. Though there was some old video grainy where he did it too :)
I had blast watching JLin's video. "sayang" i live very close to Xinsheng but wasn't able to see him.

The new KNICKS uniform took me down to memory lane. It look a bit similiar during I. Thmas era? Anyway, maybe this is a sign of a fresh start for KNICKS, hopefully. Back to the issue on hand. It was hilarious watchin the video , the sideway glance of D. Lee in the lift and most fun part was when Jeremy got stuck while entering the vehicle
I found this in Clutchfans. These are not new but I would like to post it anyways:- 4th quarter second highest PER behind CP3 at 33- clutch within 5 minutes of the end within 5 points: avgs 46 points per 48 minutes- 6th highest FG% in ISO---Jeremy Lin had more isolation plays in his 25 games than Jason Kidd had in the last 3 seasons combined.- 10th player in the nba to get to the FT line- Of 102 players who attempted 90+ jumpers off the dribble last season, only Steph Curry & Steve Nash shot better than Jeremy Lin (47.9 pct).- In terms of pg's who create a lot of the “best” shots, namely layups and threes, and not long two-pointers — in theory, the worst shot in the game. Only Jeremy Lin (68 percent) had a higher percentage of potential assists fall in those areas. Andre Miller was second @ 67% & Ty Lawson had 56%- Lin's Synergy Defense was 0.81 (128th, 335 poss). Compare Irving's Defense 1.03 (worst among all PGs by far). lins Iso/Spot defense were mediocre (0.92 & 0.99) but P&R defense was great (0.72)- Lin was VERY good with ball in his hands. Mediocre spotting up 0.94 (159th,13.3% of poss) & transition 0.86 (267th, 14.3% of poss)- Lin Offense 0.87 (252nd, 586 poss) including 1.02 (8th) on Isos (15.9% of poss) and 0.80 P&R (67th, 42.8% of poss).amongst starting pg's in the NBA:- he was 5th in TS% - 13th in TRB% - 5th in STL%- 5th in BLK%- 2nd in DRTG- 9th in PER- 8th in AST per 36- 32nd in TOV per 36- 1st in FTA per 36.- Lin is the only one that ranks TOP 5 in both STL% and BLK% among PGs. - Lin had almost as many FTA per 36 mins as Durant had in the last reg. season. (Lin: 7.0 Durant: 7.1) - Lin is the only one that turned the ball over at a rate of over 20%(21.4%) in TOV% with a USG% of over 20%(28.1%) among these guys besides Rondo, who turned the ball over at a rate of 22.8% in TOV% with a USG% of 20.7%.What is most impressive is his FTA per 36 mins. It's very impressive.
Shoutout to you for your attentiveness, Neph. I had no idea Jeremy Lin had stats like these in so many areas, but it's good to see that the stats basically corroborate what most of us can plainly see with the naked eye. The high turnovers would trouble me if Lin were a Knick this season. But since he's a Houston Rocket, I expect teammates to actually catch the ball and go to spots on the court where they are actually supposed to be.
this deserves to be bookmarked, @neph!if anyone still doubts that Jeremy excels as a starting PG or even deserves to start, they just need to look at these ranks.I wouldn't be surprised that Houston probably had these stats long before they invested $28 million in Jeremy. Thanks for the great research!
I wouldn't doubt that Daryl Morey and Houston's well paid statisticians had NOTHING to do with Lin returning to the Rockets. I'll bet that it was 100% Les Alexander, using no stats but simply following Lin's career the way we do here!
@Psalm234I didn't personally research the stats. Someone posted it in Clutchfans.net.
Google Jeremy Lin's upside and you'll find clutchfans.net. It has around 59 pages ; you'll find it at page 50 or above (so toward the end of the thread)

Had anyone read bleacher report by Pete Schauer?
i wouldn't read anything on bleacher report - they're a content farm, meaning they hire writers to write stuff that they know will generate clicks, views, and links. their opinion means nothing, so i wouldn't even pay attention to it, good or bad.
99% of Bleachers articles are written by "regular" or "citizen" folks, which they call FEATURED COLUMNISTS (not real journalists or sports writers), which is why there are GLUT of Jeremy Lin articles all the time, which, unfortunately adds a lot to making Lin a continuous target of players and fans. And as such, they don't adhere to even a *minimum* amount of journalistic standard (like Stephen A. Smith, when it comes to the subject of Jeremy Lin) and are HEAVILY BIASED either way.The Bleachers is a company that generate revenue by parasitically USING (should say ABUSING) the name of whoever is the MOST FAMOUS ATHLETE AT THE MOMENT. Thus Bleachers have been RIDING TO DEATH the name of Jeremy Lin since FEBRUARY 2012 (by far more than any other). When you google "Jeremy Lin", a fresh batch of Lin articles come up virtually everyday!!!! Unfortunately (maybe fortunately?), a Ted Turner's company bought them out fairly recently. I'm a big Ted Turner fan.
ESPN The Mag: Ultimate Standings 2012http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/teamrankings
My theory is that the Sacramento Kings are sort of the opposite of the NY Knicks. The Knicks are bad because they always ship out their young promising talent for old overpaid selfish veterans. The Kings are bad because they ship out solid proven veterans for young unproven draft picks, often with a history of attitude problems. Occasionally the move pays off for Sacramento, like in the Mitch Richmond for Chris Webber trade that made the Kings a great team for years. But more often than not, good players are gotten rid of in favor of guys with bad attitudes and "potential". It's going to be another long painful season for the Kings and their malcontented young players.

David Lee seems like a good guy. He was genuinely rooting for JLin back in GS.Ichiro looked like vintage Ichiro last night. 3 hits, 2 rbi, 1 sb. Hitting 9th and sometimes pinch hit is an insult but he's doing what he can it seems. It still kinda ends up being ichiro/jeter the dream lineup though.

Yeah j, I was never really a big golfer but I think people generally consider Tiger as Black. I remember him saying being picked on as kid for being Black but those nasty little brats could have had it either way. For some reason I don't even like mentioning Yao. The only guy to make an impact while making no impact whatsoever.
Tiger Woods self-identify as Cablasian. [His dad is half African-American, a quarter Chinese, quarter American Indian. His mom, half Thai, a quarter Chinese, a quarter Dutch.] Didn't go down well with the African-american community [?]
It depends on your point of view. Larry Wilmore would say it this way:http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-february-16-2012/larry-wilmore-s-lin-grown-toenailAnyway - Tiger must be around asian people a lot. I read somewhere that "Tiger" is a nickname that was given to him by his fathers vietnamese friend.
Oh great Scott Machado. Could have used Andray Blatche but lets go for that potential cancer guy more concerned about starting than winning games.
Andray Blatche to the Nets.http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/netsblog/blatche_is_low_risk_high_reward_RraVrxSARiA8HH69j8NTmJ
Scott Machado will be fine, provided he can keep up with NBA athletes like Jeremy Lin.
Half the team are PFs but I like Blatche. The guy became a beast for the Wizards, not sure why he faded away last season though. I agree he will probably do ok as backup but will harbor those negative feelings much like two face JR Smith. Unwritten rules of publicly criticizing other players achievements, contracts, etc. go out the window with the Asian kid.

OTOH, He did say those stuffs while Christian.I hope we just misinterpreted.
Being Christian doesn't make Scott Machado any better at getting to the rim or keeping his mouth shut.
:) Perhaps at keeping his mouth shut. Who knows, he might be inspired by a fellow Christian's humility & patience in JLin, as they spend more time together. There's so much to do getting this young team going. I hope JLin wouldn't have to deal with locker room crap, again.
Oh, Jeremy Lin will face locker room crap for his entire career. ALL NBA players do. Good franchises MANAGE their malcontents and get everybody moving in one direction.
@KHWell, sure all players do. But it seems JLin gets more than his fair share. While he's trying hard to get along with everybody, dbags are just taking advantage of his good nature. I know he's accepted than he'll have to prove himself over & over again, & still it won't be enough. [I can't help but resent this.]Wish he'd get to Houston early & start bonding with the guys.
Lin is paid millions of dollars to PUT UP with the difficulties of being a NBA player. Players in the NBA who play well together often hate each other. As long as they stick to the game plan and don't tank games the way the Knicks did until Lin took full control of the team, players are fine with hating each other. A truly good chemistry situation is virtually impossible in the NBA. No shympathy from me for Jeremy Lin's struggles with teammates!
C'mon KH, you know they hate on him unfairly. Don't be so hard on him."As long as they stick to the game plan and don't tank games"- The ludicrous thing is tanking might be the game plan, lol. [I read that Les is against this, but Morey's prolly tacitly strategizing for this...]
I have watched the NBA game for decades and believes that one has to be realistic about the NBA. Players are there for themselves, first and foremost. Anybody who doesn't believe that, including Jeremy Lin, washes out of the NBA quickly. You'll see that ALL NBA teams have huge amounts of jealousy and infighting. There is no such thing as a team that has players that don't try to tank games every once in a while. Sometimes the players are justified in doing so, especially if the coach is insane or unrealistic. To follow the NBA, you have to have a thick skin and your eyes wide open. That goes for life in general.
Well, JLin will have the upper-hand this time 'round, coming in as the FO-endorsed 25mil Face of the Franchise. & It's certain he knows about Machado's words & its possible implications coming into the Rox locker room. [& have prepared for it in his own way.] Me, I'd like to be on the side of hoping for the best [for once!] while preparing for the worst. :)
Every team has locker room friction, jealousy and personality issues, but in different DEGREES. What Carmelo did was beyond typical for a resentful "superstar" and is inexcusable. Jeremy Lin was dealing with a severe level of jealousy from a few of his teammates, but what is significant is that one of them - and the main one - happened to be the captain of the team, and with a long-term max-salary contract (which some players abuse to manipulate), thus with a clout. The level of the Knicks' friction and dysfunction with Lin on the team, because of his sudden popularity, was such that even the public knew it (despite the PR spins) and it also affected the team adversely and everybody played with a sour or blank face. It started when Carmelo rejoined the team on Feb 20th and the problem got increasingly worse. The team didn't play like a team until they forced the coaching change. Then they were super motivated to play their best to try to tell the people that coach D'Antoni was the problem and that coach Woodson is the savior (and Lin didn't pay them back by deliberately playing bad).
Scott Machado probably won't even be traveling with the Rockets this season. I'll bet that he'll end up going back and forth between the D League and NBA, depending on Shaun Livingston's historically bad knee problems. Unlike Jeremy Lin who had lottery talent but was undrafted because he was Asian, Scott Machado is a marginal NBA prospect who's likely not athletic enough to make a physical impact in winning games. I am not a Scott Machado fan not because he said things about Jeremy Lin, but because I simply think he is going to be overwhelmed by NBA starter pgs like Jeremy Lin. By the way, there is this: If Jeremy Lin had Shaun Livingston's bad legs, no Asian player would EVER be allowed back into the NBA!
Machado is probably better than Livingston and Douglas but I'm skeptical on him. So, maybe the rockets can also allow Royce white to play some back-up pg. @KHuangDo you see Parsons as a potential superstar? Some rockets fans really think highly of him. Personally, I see him as the next shawn Marion (probably longer). If can probably be an all-star a couple of times in the future. What do you think?
Machado is ssill young but I hope the Rox coaches will reel him in and give a lesson in humility before him teammates or opponents give him a 'dressing down'.
I frankly don't know much about Chandler Parsons, neph. Shawn Marion is a good defensive player who is a nondribbler offensively with a solid jump shot and the ability to finish above the rim. I don't sense that Chandler Parsons is primarily a defensive player, plus Parsons seems to me to be a point forward with dribbling and passing skills that Marion never had. At this point, I see no resemblance in their games. I don't think Scott Machado needs a dressing down. He needs to be able to guard his position and finish at the rim against NBA athletes, neither of which I think he can do. I would be OK with Machado talking big if he were 4 inches taller and 30 lbs heavier, thus making him the same stature as Jeremy Lin. Scott Machado is the 2012 version of Jeremy Lin's minor league punching bag Jerome Randle.
@ # 1 j"I hope they haze the shit outta that rookie."- Not likely...@ KH"I don't think Scott Machado needs a dressing down. He needs to be able to guard his position and finish at the rim against NBA athletes, neither of which I think he can do.I would be OK with Machado talking big if he were 4 inches taller and 30 lbs heavier, thus making him the same stature as Jeremy Lin."- Isn't this why people find his words so insulting? There's no basis for his talk, but he believes he compares very favorably [& proclaims it so arrogantly.] Average showing at SL, but "I’ll back him up if I have to." “I feel like I’m in the same situation he was last year,” Machado said of Lin. “He was undrafted, ended up with a bunch of teams and ended up with the Knicks, and he ended up doing a good job with the Knicks."- NOT THE SAME. [Why was JLin undrafted? Why only garbage time? What if D'Antoni wasn't forced by circumstance to play him?]
Let things be settled on the court. Remember Ruben Patterson? As Kobe Bryant's Laker teammate, he called himself the "Kobe Stopper" and talked trash in practice while trying to bounce Kobe around physically. Patterson washed off the Lakers because he had no offensive game at all, though. Years later Patterson's Blazers were playing the Lakers. Phil Jackson looked at Kobe and was like "Roast the Kobe Stopper!" The Laker teammates all got into it and Bryant scored 30 in a win. Scott Machado can be the "DeLINeator" or the "Machado Machado Man" or the "Ionaizor", as long as he can get the job done at the NBA level.
Hi all, can anybody tell me when will the Rockets starts their training camp for the new season? Have the new roster been establish yet and what is Jeremy standin in the roster? It is a bit worrisome for the new and young team; they need more time to mesh and what will McHale and his coaches strategy for the team?
Training camp starts 2 Oct, Rio Grande Valley.
I'm getting this feeling like they are trying to tank for the next few seasons and they only see JLin as a circus act. I thought we'd have at least Dwight or Bynum at this point. I hope JLin goes Major League on management and takes a team of rookies and unknowns to the playoffs.
If Jeremy Lin is indeed so good that he can lead this young team of low draft picks and journeymen to the West playoffs, he would get my MVP vote!
That's kind of why I wish JLin signed with the Mavericks. At least they have a good team to build around....
At least we here at jeremylin.net will know how well Lin performs as the main man. I have no idea how the Rockets are going to do. I do know that Jeremy Lin will play the way Jeremy Lin has all his career - like a WINNER.
The Rockets are rebuilding so I personally see them winning around 30-34 games. They are just too inexperienced at this moment. They will have to adjust to each other and the rookies are not even guaranteed success.Next season, I expect them to finish as the 7th or 8th seed. But not this upcoming season.
Wow, that's a little time for training. If I'm not wrong their first game will be on the 11 Oct? A bit worrisome how will the players can excel in just of a week before they step on court for an actual game especially most of Rockets players either rookies, sophmores or only 3rd yr in the league.:(

Thanks via wong. Anyway, after I skimmed thru McHale interviews posted on the ROCKETS off website, it seems that he is having a tough season with all the new hands on board but still need some conditioning and time before the ROX can really put a winning team on court. When can the team announce their lineup?
The more I think about it, the more I believe Kevin McHale will be pleasantly surprised at his Rockets roster. The backcourt is set with Lin, Lamb, and Martin. That trio can compete against any backcourt in the NBA. The frontcourt is raw but interesting. For all we know, McHale could tutor all those guys into being solid NBA players!
@KHuang How do you think the Rockets should play?I really think they should adopt the 2004-2005 Suns. They up-tempo and they will always put pressure on the opponents to play their style. However, I do not like how Dantoni overused Lin. He also do not have other plays other than the pick and roll executed usually by the point guard. I would expect them to run some screens to free up Lamb for open jumpers like what other teams do for the likes of Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, and Richard Hamilton. Motiejunas seems to be a decent post scorer so they can probably get some easy baskets. I've heard McHale prefers an inside-outside gameplan but that is pretty difficult at this point due to their lack of inside presence. I really expect MArtin to be traded before the season starts. They already signed Delfino; there is no point in keeping Martin.
The 2012 Rockets are not like the 2004 Suns which trotted out two solid NBA veterans at every position and thus could run D'Antoni's offense. Rather the 2012 Houston Rockets are a youthful bunch of raw guys who are more brawns than brain. The style that I feel would best suit this team is the "smashmouth" fast break offense used by the Boston Celtics of the 1950s and 1960s. The gameplan is simple. Ram the ball into the paint on offense via dribbles and cuts as opposed to postups and rolls. Let the perimeter guys flit around on the perimeter with an occasional high screen set to free them for attacking the basket. Big men mainly rebound, run the court, set screens, and attack the offensive boards. Frankly, I can't imagine the 2012 Rockets running a D'Antoni offense or even McHale's pick and roll scheme from last year. Apart from Lin, Lamb, and Martin, the team is simply too unskilled offensively to make precision plays in the halfcourt. Not even Jeremy Lin will be able to initiate a true pick and roll if his screening big man cannot execute the proper options. I figured that the Rockets would run into trouble against the big teams like the Lakers, but I change my mind because I don't think the Rockets can score inside anyway. My guess is that the Rockets will be one of those "maddening" teams that wins against a good opponent and gets blown out at home by a bad opponent. Of course, what that really means is that the Rockets will be a bad halfcourt offense team and thus can only win if their guards get hot. There is one difference between the lowly Rockets and other lottery teams. Jeremy Lin's presence will keep the team competitive and high energy. Unlike the Knicks where his rah rah attitude was disdained by the coaching staff and veteran players, the young Rockets will rally behind Lin because he'll take care of them. As the season wears on, some of the young guys will feed off Lin and hopefully learn to operate in the gaps that he creates for them on offense. I am not worried about the Rockets on defense. Any Jeremy Lin led team is going to be an active aggressive defensive squad, and the Rockets have the athletes to get after people defensively. Shooting guard is the weak link, and that is where Jeremy Lamb might end up beating out the defensively lackadaisacal Kevin Martin.
One more thing I forgot: When Jeremy Lin roasted John Wall in that summer league game, he did so because his screener was Omar Samhan. I have raved long and hard here about Omar Samhan as being the "Jeremy Lin" of centers. I thought Samhan should have been a high lottery pick based on production and potential alone. In the John Wall game, Samhan had a solid effort. Because he is a guy that teams had to guard off the pick and roll, Samhan ended up siphoning McGee and Wall in transition. That freed Lin to attack the gaps. When Jeremy Lin first came on the Rockets last year, he had Samhan with him again. I'll bet that they played on the same squad and Samhan set those picks for Lin again. I'd LOVE for the Houston Rockets to get Omar Samhan once his ACL heals up from a major tear. I think a slimmed down Samhan would be an excellent NBA center, likely a starter in the league. Unlike Asik and Motiejeunas who cannot make opposing big men pay for doubling Lin, Samhan would destroy teams that left him alone to jam the perimeter. Omar Samhan is a better big man than anybody the Rockets have, by A LOT.
Agreed. I still think Jeremy Lamb is going to become a better NBA player than Kevin Martin, on both ends of the court. People have criticized Lamb's defense. Yet I sense he's going to be a solid defender at worst. Jeremy Lamb is too athletic not to become an excellent two way player in the NBA. No matter what happens this season, Jeremy Lamb is the future shooting guard for the Rockets.
feeling nostalgic... i came across this excellent vid posted (and removed) by MSG... but , thankfully , re posted by a Jlin fan... a great watch while we await the start of the next season :)MSG Countdown of JLin's Top 25 plays last season http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWVNVBGryU8&feature=related
Thanks!..... but it only goes to #6. Where is #s 1 through 5? I think I know what the #1 is (the Toronto game winning 3-pointer), but I'm so curious.
ooh , sorry here's the complete version -MSG Countdown of JLin's Top 25 plays last seasonhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6fb9nI2fGQ
Oh thank you so much!...... Cheers to ya.
@ztrta , no prob... enjoy! :)
David Lee strikes me as a cool dude. I met him during a Warriors autograph session and I had his jersey on and he signed it! :) Speaking of David Lee, he lives in San Francisco with his super hot girlfriend Sabina Gadecki (World Poker Tour). A friend of mine saw Lee walking around in downtown SF on Thursday and posted a photo on FB!
Anyone know where I can buy that hello kitty head?
Do you mean that particular Kitty head he wore? Maybe contact his bro on twitter & ask for info?http://twitter.com/JoshLin33
Also where JL7 have any attire with that awesome logo?
Yes, that logo is truly awesome. You don't need to be an artist or graphic designer to appreciate it.

This was a great video! I couldn't imagine how much Jeremy Lin would influence Taiwan if he played for the National Team!
Very interesting selection with Jeremy Lin. He was chosen as one of GQ's China Men of the Year! So what happened to Jeremy Lin being "Taiwanese" and not Chinese?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1a97RMVW_Mhttp://ballislife.com/jeremy-lin-on-cover-of-gq-china-men-of-the-year-w-tony-leung/http://www.gq.com.cn/magazine/5174/news_114gcdf8765df8f0.html
I dont get it. Its not like he grew up in Beijing or Taipeh. He didnt play pickup basketball in the streets of China or Taiwan. Its not like he attended chinese or taiwanese schools. His coaches arent chinese or taiwanese either and his passport says he is american. So - for people to identify with him -> chinese genes can do that -> OK. But to claim him? Thats ridiculous. No contribution - no claim. Thats how I see it. Whats next? North Korea claiming JLin cause he has asian roots? Come on...
@ wil"Whats next? :) He was part-Filipino for less than 12 hrs.http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/248914/sports/basketball/despite-chatter-on-twitter-jeremy-lin-s-mother-is-not-part-filipino
Unless I see the actual footage of Korean speaking people claiming Lin to be people, that video really has no basis. Any news can claim someone claim anything, what that is speculation not fact.He claims to be Taiwanese politically and nationally? Maybe his parents but I don't think Jeremy personally does. I think he's proud of both his Chinese and Taiwanese heritage. All the political stuff sounds more like an agenda.Jeremy Lin saying he's proud to be Chinese.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaCVJEJs8kMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXOOsZ9q9Rc

JLin is filming a movie? Or is this the 60min feature story? :)
@ anonMight be a cameo.[Not 60Min.]
It's probably the documentary on Jeremy Lin. Been in the works for a while, but no Hollywood studio has picked it up yet.
@ ABC BallerYou mean the one by Evan Jackson Leong ?
This one?http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movies/2012/04/jeremy-lin-linsanity-knicks-movie-documentary-youtube.html"Lin is the subject of a documentary that is being pitched to distributors in Hollywood by agency CAA"
Yeah, that's probably the one. Unless it's already finished filming. I think Jeremy Lin should get some cameo roles in music videos. Basketball is deeply tied to hip-hop culture, and JLin is a basketball hero.
That'll be cool. :)Except he'd be confined to gospel hip hop [problem w/ the explicit lyrics/ images...]

what does it mean exactly? i know china white is cocaine right?
China white is heroin, because it, the opium poppy plant, used to be grown mostly in southeast Asian countries like Thailand. Now it is exclusively grown in South America and the lawless border regions of Afghanistan.

Is he in Houston training with his teammates yet?
Don't look like it [?] More info later. :)
