First and Foremost, the NBA is an entertainment business. They need to think, what would sell more tickets and make more money on TV ? Rajon Rondo or Jeremy Lin ?
We've already seen Rajon Rondo in All Star Games. People want to see something new.
Let him build real cred, via quality of his play on court, among other players, so when, hopefully, it does happen, everyone respects and agrees with decision, and doesn't think that it was all a marketing scheme.
No way. He's only had 6 real games. Besides, All-Star teams were selected already, what are they going to kick someone off? I don't want to see Lin get special treatment (like Michelle Wie getting sponsors exemptions). If he plays like this next year, he'll easily earn the votes.

Lin has been the best player in the entire league since the NJ game. He has had a historically great start and has led the Knicks into playoff contention. The Knicks have been essentially a D league team during the Lin Dynasty, and no other player has done more with less help.
I don't agree in the least that Jennings and Rondo deserve to make the All Star Team before Lin does. Rondo plays on the stacked Boston team and Milwaukee with Jennings is pretty good with a healthy Bogut. Even so, Lin has propelled the Knicks past Mil and soon Boston. I laughed when Chris Palmer wrote that "Lin could never be as good as Rajon Rondo" because that's just devil's advocate journalist drivel.
I am a basketball purist who wants to see the best players in the court, regardless of situation. Just from a basketball standpoint, Lin deserves to be there.

Actually, hhe doesn't deserve it because you will have Rose, Rhondo having better stats and probably Irving. So it is a popularity contest. Taiwan and China are going to vote him in. It will be actually embarrassing for him to be voted in if he averaged any less than 18 and 9. You can't justify going in with less. Irving, Rose will kill for sure next year; so you have to beat out Rhonda and Williams. Did I miss out another Eastern point guard? Of course you have to look at NY win % by next year, if he is average less than 18 and 9 NY better be leading their division and like 1,2 or 3 in the conference to justify the masses of votes from asia.

But Derrick Rose plays on a stacked Chicago team that wins just as much without him as they do with him. Meanwhile Rajon Rondo has built an entire career as a cherrypicker from having 3 Hall of Famers to draw attention away from him on both ends. The Celtics are not truly better than.the Knicks right now anyway (losing Kendrick Perkins and even Glen Davis really hurt the once vaunted Celtics interior defense).
If you remove Irving, Rose, or Rondo from their teams, their teams keep winning and sometimes get better. Remove Lin and the Knicks are a lottery team, regardless of his stats. Lin is the most important player to his team's winning percentage in the entire NBA, and that's why fans of all ethnicities are so excited about him.
Now let's find Lin a young minimum wage backup pg from the minor leagues who actually has major league talent. Give me Scottie Reynolds (a true NBA pg talent) or Ben Hansbrough (plays like a white Jeremy Lin).

That means that while Lin was on the floor, his team gave up the fewest points per 100 possessions and outscored their opponents by the largest margin per 100 possessions.
When Lin was on the floor last season, the Bighorns outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points per 100 possessions, 11.4 MORE than they did when he was on the bench. Although Lin helped with his team's ball movement (59% of FGM were assisted with him on the floor versus just over 54% when he wasn't ), Lin's presence made the Bighorns only marginally better offensively (they scored roughly 107 points per 100 possessions with him on the floor versus 104 points with him off the floor and their TS% was essentially unchanged).
Surprisingly -- knowing what we know now -- Lin's impact was most profound on the defensive end, where his Bighorns yielded almost 9 fewer points per 100 possessions with him on the floor, shaving the team's DefRtg from a pedestrian 101.8 to a sterling 93.2. Perhaps this indicates that beyond Lin's ability to facilitate offense, he could potentially help bolster the Knicks' team defense (one of the teams' perennial weaknesses) as well.
And from my memory of watching his Big Horns game last year:
1) the one game he played with Steve Novak (signed same day, played with Lin in Idaho Stampede game, and called up by Spurs after game), it was just more than just Lin's drives getting Novak open - he seems to get the ball to Novak on the number and in rhythm so Novak could shoot comfortably
2) I forgot it Coach Musselman made the comment after this specific game, but I think he said watching the Lin / Green / Novak combo was beautiful because it was only time he didn't need to coach and just sat back and watched 3 smart players interact with each other.

Playing 7 games is not enough to make any person an all-star. We remember Houston winning 20+ games straight. If was a team effort, not about one guy trying to do too much to win.
I say no on all-star. However, he can make the all-star game next season.
I'm a Lin fan and this is what is needed in order for Lin to make the All-Star game. All these criteria must be met IMO for him to be an all star:
