A Conversation With Jeremy Lin

Great personal interview with Jeremy by Palo Alto Online. Very ironic that this was right before he was let go by the Warriors.  Also, Jeremy gives a shout out to us near the end of the interview. Very cool.

  2. Ibby and Samhan got cut from the Rockets so that means Lin is a little closer to making the final roster.

  3. Here an interview with Lin.

  4. Curry rolled his surgically repaired ankle. It looked really bad, I feel terrible for Steph. I have the feeling his ankle is going to problematic all year, just like last year. The Warriors probably need to carry extra PG insurance all year.

If Lin gets cut by the Rockets, the Warriors should sign him (and cut Ish Smith if needed).

And btw, Monta just got hit with a sexting lawsuit, so who knows how that's going to play out.

  5. Tom Haberstroh, ESPN.com: "I was stunned to learn about Jeremy Lin's propensity to tally steals and blocks. As Hollinger points out, Lin recorded 4.6 steals per 40 minutes in his rookie campaign -- which is a full two steals better than the mighty Chris Paul. I think Hollinger is right: Lin is capable of being a backup point guard."

Curry ankle sprain, Ellis legal trouble, Ish and Jenkins ineffective minutes. Gee, the W's sure could use a dependable guard who is big and strong and of good character. My guess is that the Rockets will keep Lin. Dragic looks good but has ankle issues, Flynn had hip surgery earlier this year. How well they'll hold up is in question. Lin is good insurance.

  6. Nice numbers for JLin...anyone have the highlights? Hope he gets more opportunities!

  7. Aman2K will probably post highlights. I will start making highlights in HD once I buy the right things to do that (assuming Jeremy is still in the NBA).

It was classic Jeremy tonight, being aggressive and driving to the basket. His last one tied the game 95-95.

  8. Lin played really well in the closing minutes of the game. He was a big part of bringing the Rockets back and the announcers got excited. It was similar to the John Wall game in last year's summer league.

JLin17 definitely opened some eyes tonight. Wish he was able to stop K. Leonard from hitting that last shot.

  9. Rockets fan here. Had no idea this guys plays smart, fundamental defense. Hoping he makes the team. Love watching smart players.

  10. Heres a full game highlights with a couple of Lin playing some really good defense at the game winning shot.

  12. JL's driving layup to tie the game was pretty amazing. He beat ALL FIVE guys on the court in some way.

Count 'em: he crossed over Leonard (1); he faked out Hassell behind the screen (2); he ran by Joseph who tried to help (3); and then he finished over Green (4) and Lawal (5). High off the glass and in. WOW.

If only they let him play more minutes today, ugh. Still don't know if he can make the roster. I have a feeling he will, but he'll definitely be inactive unless there's a last minute trade (and Flynn or Dragic is included).

  13. I think he will make the team, if not Im sure warriors will want him back after what happen to curry. I dont think that monte will give him the respect there anyways, i think hes better off with a different team and for some reason everyone that leaves the warriors always become a better player.

  14. Comparing Lin to Paul's numbers isn't fair to either player. Paul will probably average close to 40 minutes a game while Lin (at this point in his career) will be lucky to get 4 minutes.

The point is that Lin will be able to produce in short spurts but don't expect him to replicate it over a longer span of time (yet).

  17. Lin has plenty of support either way. He was already up 300+ votes on Flynn last night lol.

  18. Does anyone know the answer to this question? If Lin is released, is he still subject to the Waiver Wire, or does he become a free agent?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think it might depend if he has a contract guaranteed date. I think he still goes through a time period of the waiver wire, and if picked up he is owed the salary increase for the second year of his rookie contract.

I'm not sure when 10 day contracts can start, but either way if he is signed by a team opening day (either through waivers or Free Agency), he'll get his.

  20. I hope that he will eventually get more minutes in Houston. He did pretty good in his few games with 6 points in only 2-4 minutes with the Rockets.

  22. Can't recall if this has been posted before but it is a nice recap of Jeremy's career thus far. The Rockets highlights are on a separate clip. Personally, I would recommend turning off the music (?) and just watching.

I found it browsing the Rockets Forum, Clutch Fans.

  23. sigh... JLin got waived. I knew this would happen. Just too many guards in front of him due to guaranteed contracts.

  24. FYI I'm an aquaintance of a good friend of Jeremy. Jermey's always the underdog he'll find a way to come out on top eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Source? Some forum you read? I think you're blowing smoke out of your butt without facts!
If he does get waived, some other team will pick him up because he has skills, size and can great defend with the best of them. If you play great defense, you have a spot in the league.

  26. His source is -
"I'm an aquaintance of a good friend of Jeremy"

    =)

  27. That's what they all say when they are blowing smoke out of their ass...

  28. lol. The Rockets Forum is quoting this site for the Jeremy got waived story. Everybody chill.

  29. The Rockets forum topic got locked.

Everybody is chill. Ika789 is just calling him out.

CK is positioning himself to come out and say, "I told you so" if he is right, which really any of us could claim he got waived without providing a more accurate source.

If he's wrong, he'll try to come up with an excuse that his friend misunderstood or just post under a different name.

  30. I would think people have better things to do with there life than come here and false advertise, lol!!!! Hopefully that's not the case.
