Wow, some awesome news coming down recently for Jeremy. First, the hire of Mark Jackson as the Warriors new coach, who will stress defense first. How about this rumor, Monta for Iguodala? Click here.
Lastly, how about the opportunity to play Internationally for Taiwan or China? Click here.
Jackson will be awesome as a mentor to develop Lin's PG skills. Not so sure about his coaching, but we'll see. I'll also wait and see if Jackson's commitment to defense is for real or just talk.
ReplyDeleteIguodala would be a great trade. A defensive and offensive player. It would make the team better overall.
I'm not excited about Lin playing internationally. The only thing of worth there is the marketing and exposure in the Asian markets.
Playing for Taiwan would be the right thing to do. But if he wants the most exposure and the chance to play at the biggest tournaments and Olympics, he should play for China.
ReplyDeleteApparently Mark Jackson is also a pastor (link).
ReplyDeleteIggy's so much older.... he will be past his prime soon. Do you guys think that this will be a problem or make the deal not worth it?
ReplyDeleteIggy is only 27. You will never make it far in the playoffs with two guards under 6'3". You need a bigger sg like Iggy to defend the Kobes, Ginobilis, and Wades. Iguodala is definitely not as good a scorer as Monta but he's solid and plays good d.
ReplyDeleteIf he plays for China, Jeremy would have to give up his U.S. citizenship.
ReplyDeleteWith that said, Chinese Taipei won't go far and will get eliminated in the Asian Championship tournament even with Jeremy Lin. They have no size upfront to counter China or Iran.
When Jeremy was in China, he did not rule out playing for the Chinese Basketball Association due to the lockout either.
ReplyDeletenice interview with Lin on predraft workout.

Good interview with Lin. He cracks me up with how tired he always sounds.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Lebron had Monta Ellis type stats this game: -24 in 40 minutes.
ReplyDeleteBut no one can question Monta's heart as a fighter and warrior.
ReplyDeleteLebron is just a bully who is great as a front runner who steam rolls opponents, but if that opponent absorbs his initial bullying, then hits Lebron in face and bloodies him, you see the soft player he really is.
