Here's hoping for a good run tonight. Last game, Acie Law schooled J J Barea so there's no reason to think Lin couldn't do the same. It would be interesting to see him go against Kidd too.
The Mavericks are a team that has shown interest in #7 before so a good game could be beneficial later when he becomes a free agent.
With Law and Ellis injured, and Curry beaten up, even Smart might have to play him. On the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me if Smart played Charlie Bell instead!
Looks like Monta's planning on playing through the injury to show his toughness, leadership, and that he's not quitting. He is determined to play all 82 games. So I'm predicting minimal PT for Lin today.
The Warriors expect Ellis, who strained his right ankle Wednesday, to play against the Mavericks in what otherwise would be a meaningless game. It is plenty important to the Warriors' guard, however, because he is determined to play all 82 games and lead a team that needs a couple helpings of toughness.
Coach Keith Smart said, "Monta is doing it. He is committed to this team. He's trying to set the tone."
Uh. Why won't monta just let it go and play minimal minutes. He will just re-injure his ankle again and we will lose Monta for next year. Here is hoping that Lin gets some PT.
We all know Monta can shoot the ball, but seriously he's such a ball hog. Even with a sprained ankle he wants 40 mins a game. Watch him sprain it even worse and he's done for the season. Its not even like they need a win since the season is over. Let people like Lin play to develop! He always has the highest +/- ratio on the team so let him play.
Easier to play offense with an ankle sprain than it is to play defense. Lateral movement is way more difficult to defend. But man Lin looked good, and he totally changed the offense around when he came in. Curry and Lin should be running the offense.
Here's hoping Lin gets more PT this quarter or next.
As I predicted, minimal PT for Lin. Even though he only got 7 minutes, at least it was during 2nd Q and not garbage time.
Did you guys see that B Wright had 15 pts, 11 reb in 29 mins against 76ers on Friday? Just shows how poorly Smart utilizes the talent on his team.
The Biggie Ho's finished the season with the best record (34-16) in the Western Conf and 2nd best record in DL. What's interesting about DL playoffs is that the top seeds get to select their opponent! Too bad Lin could not be there to help them win a championship. I think some playoff experience at the DL level would have been beneficial.
Well BWight just never showed he could produce 2 games in a row. But I think it's because he's not big enough to play the 5. The Nets have a good 5 making it easier for Wright to play. I did like him but he was way too injury prone.
Well here's hoping Lin gets more PT. He shows he can handle it yet smarts only seems to trust his starters. It makes no sense 42+ for a good majority of your starters seriously?

Not with Smart as head coach

ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Whatever happens, happens. I do believe Lin has a good chance to establish an NBA career which is fun to follow.

ReplyDeleteMonta running second team = FAIL, consistently.
ReplyDeleteSecond team doesn't lose as much ground against other team when he is not on floor with them.
I think that is because Monta focuses energy on offensive, not defense.

ReplyDeletehis knee is fine, he just slips a lot cause he tries to stop too fast

I swear every time Monta catches the ball, he shoots it as if its a hot potato. Geezzzzzz
ReplyDeleteDamn it not likely to see Lin anymore :(
ReplyDeleteWish Smart would bring in Lin just for his defense.
ReplyDeleteEven dallas could use Lin. It is so sad watching Kidd bricking shots after shots.
