Glad to see JLin get a little PT. Not a bad stat line so far: 3-4, 2 AST, +8. It would be Smart to keep him in the next half. (Fourth quarter = JLin time.)
did Lin actually foul him? From my TV it looked like a clean block, but I didn't see a replay and camera angles weren't good, so it very well could have been a foul.
so to the person that asked bout the games, all warriors games are usually on p2p4u just google that. works well for me since all the other sites are taken
2) Monta doesn't want to play with Lin and should be benched when second team is on floor (he was equally ineffective with different second team during OKC game yesterday)
3) Lin is a good, but not great, on ball defender, and needs Udoh behind him to be truly effective at NBA level
4) especially at NBA level, Lin needs talented teammates around him because he is a faciliator who can take a good team and make them great, but he can not lift a so-so or even pretty good team to greatness by himself.
Lin played suprisingly good, considering it's his first NBA game since returning from D-League. 4-5 shooting with two jumpshots. Two assists. Only one turnover.
His defense looked a step slow, and he picked up 4 fouls very quickly. But again, that's expected because the NBA offense is harder to stop than the D-League.
Lin doesn't have much chemistry with Ellis. The ball does not move between them. Which means that at the end of the season, one of them will need to go.
Nice game Jeremy! 17 min, 8 pts, 4/5 fg (including 20 ft and 9 ft jumpers), and an impressive team best +2 in a 19-point loss. He could have done this on a regular basis throughout the season had he been given the opportunity.
Like I kept saying before, playing (or allowing) Monta so many minutes is incredibly foolish because you're just increasing the risk of injury for no reason. The risk of injury is even greater when a player is tired (say, like playing back-to-back after a 47 minute game). Lo and behold, Monta gets a high ankle injury.
If the Warriors had an ounce of intelligence collectively within their front office, they would shut Monta down the rest of the year, even if he insists on playing through the injury. If that is the case, then maybe Lin can get some meaningful playing time the last few games of the year.
They lost because of 76 pts in the paint by the grizz. Also -7 TO margin. JLIN is not exactly lockdown, he let smaller guards drive on him and needed help. All the guards need to stop penetration, and focus on defense. 56.5% fg allowed is not going to win many games.
In NBA ,there is normally not possible to guard one on one for the same position nite in and nite out , especially at the small guard position . So help defense play a more important role . It is something to do with the match up and coaching style.
GS will trade either monta or curry. This is a sure thing. They are played more to raise their stocks so come trading time, they can be traded with players with more value, preferably, big men. Who knows, this might just be a tactical move for GS and next year, jeremy will be one of the anchors for this team.
"Help defense" is the norm in NBA because of so many screens. The "help defense" is to prevent easy penetration or jump shot, but once the opposition player's stop setting screen, the "help defense" must quickly get back to defend his original opposition, so that mismatch will not be created.
Awesome! Except for that reluctant shot/turnover. Shoot it!
ReplyDeleteLin's defensive effectiveness would probably skyrocket if he had Udoh behind him.
ReplyDeleteAlso seems like Rad keeps switching when Lin can handle his man and Memphis gets good shot for score while they are trying to recover.

ReplyDeleteCan someone post 10 mins of the 2nd quarter on youtube please? real-dsb?
ReplyDeleteanyone know if theres a link to watch the game?
ReplyDeletenow in third quarter, Curry is 2-11, 5 TO, -17.
ReplyDeleteLin's back in to start fourth.
ReplyDeleteYahoo Sports at least gives play by play with box score.
Dumbo insisted on keeping Monta in with Lin and second team couldn't close gap (same issue with Monta running second team in previous games).
ReplyDeleteHe should have just trusted Williams with Lin and see what second team that had so much success in first half could do now.
Can anyone put up the highlights of this game once it's done?
ReplyDeleteI mean Jeremy's highlights of course.
ReplyDeletedid Lin actually foul him? From my TV it looked like a clean block, but I didn't see a replay and camera angles weren't good, so it very well could have been a foul.

ReplyDeleteAll right thx man. appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteConclusions from the game:
ReplyDelete1) Dumbo is an idiot
2) Monta doesn't want to play with Lin and should be benched when second team is on floor (he was equally ineffective with different second team during OKC game yesterday)
3) Lin is a good, but not great, on ball defender, and needs Udoh behind him to be truly effective at NBA level

Lin was the only Warrior to end up with a positive efficiency rating. Had a +2 rating.
ReplyDeleteAnd Acie Law would take this box score anyday (Lin played against very good Memphis team, Law against Cleveland and Wizards):
ReplyDelete16:55 4-5 0-0 0-0 +2 0 0 2 1 1 0 1 4 8
Yes someone please post the highlights. I'm on vacation and missed this game. thank you.
