Once again, Im guessing that Lin will again be on the DNP list this time as the Warriors is facing a good team The Celtics. No chance for Jeremy to play at all unless Smart changes his mind in a sudden which I think is impossible.
Yea man,it's all in the hands of Keith Smart to make that decision.Smart is just not impressed yet with Lin's performance. Lin gotta do somethings sick to make him believe in himself.
I think JLin will get into this game. But we will see. I have a stronger feeling that he will get DNP though because the game will be close. Celtics don't have any of there bigs so it'll be an easier game for the warriors to hang.
I only see Lin getting in at garbage time. I just don't see why Smart likes Laws game. I still have not seen anything out of him that warrants him 20 minutes of playing time.
Coach Smart is a holdover from the Don Nelson era of "shoot first, play defense... never"
AC Law will shoot the ball, then run down the court and play half assed defense. That's what the coach likes to see, score ! score ! score ! even if you are giving up just as many points on the other end. He just gets off on seeing the ball fall in the hoop.
Since Al Thornton has been added to the roster, two players will not suit up between Bell, Adrien, and Lin. Adrien and Lin have "connections" to the Boston area and it will be interesting to see who suits up and who doesn't.
I have to agree with some of the comments in that the game will be close, ONLY if Acie Law is not in the game and Jeremy Lin gets some play time but that won't happen so I expect a complete takedown of GSW by Boston with Acie Law playing 15-20 minutes -10 and JLin DNP.
Lin won't get a legitimate shot with the Warriors until Dumbo is exiled to the Latvian Basketball Association, and takes Monta, Biedrens, and Law with him.
lacob doesn't want to get off as a horrible owner to work for. he will play it safe for now. but smart's exile is imminent. so unfortunately, smart will have his ways til next season. lin will ride the bench til then. smart will play law heavy minutes and hope to win some games just to try and prove that his guy is better than lacob's guy. it's all or nothing to smart right now. so no matter how great lin performs, it will won't matter as far as getting minutes this season.
I predict Boston will win by 20+ points. If Smart is still coach next year ... then there is something seriously wrong with management. I'm surprised he's still the head coach.
He's coaching like he's trying to prove he belongs in the league.
Get Jerry Sloan as coach! Does anyone know how Jeremy Lin is playing in the practice skirmishes? I want to know if there is some logic behind Keith Smarts who dresses or not?
Gah no hope in watching the warriors play Lin :( Send him back to the dleague! Smart isn't using him at all and his boy Law is somewhat healthy no reason to keep him up!
Matt Steinmetz on KNBR with Damon Bruce, talking about reasons why the W's are giving Law more rotation minutes recently (starts at around the 7:30 mark)
I don't think he really answered the question. But he did blame JLin's signing for the W's lack of strong backcourt depth.... I think he's talking out of his rear end.
these guys and some fans (from most message boards) are the reason the warriors are so bad year after year. they just don't know anything about basketball, talent, or what it takes to improve a basketball team. they are so deprived of wins that they worship seeing the ball go through the hoop and the person that shoots it no matter how badly their defense is or that they contribute nothing else. these guys and their dirty mouths infests the airwaves and idiot fans AND the front office believe them. good players always get traded away for crap. i can't wait until lin get waived or traded. i'd laugh so hard when he comes to visit and pound the crap out of the warriors' backcourt wussies.
"I don't think he really answered the question. But he did blame JLin's signing for the W's lack of strong backcourt depth...."
Yeah sure, blame the guy who gets no meaningful minutes at all for the losses. First to be blamed for a loss, the last one to be credited for a win.
2010-2011 has been a wasted year for the Warriors franchise, for the season ticket holders, and for JLin. What could have been progress has been held back another year ... maybe even longer.
Lin suited up all right... literally. At least Smart did you a favor and didn't make you waste 3 hrs hoping for a Lin sighting. Can the Warriors PLEASE send Lin to D-league now that he's just going to be inactive?
Thanks for the link to the Steinmetz interview, C Dub. I listened to that section. Steinmetz said that the Warriors' bench is terrible, that the best the bench can do is keep the Warriors' in the game as opposed to making up a deficit or gaining a lead, and he blamed it on the Lin signing.
Tell me, Steinmetz, how exactly did signing Lin prevent the Warriors from having a better bench? Sure, theoretically, the Warriors could have signed a solid veteran guard instead of a rookie/longer term project like Lin. But who specifically would the Warriors have signed, Steinmetz?
And why pin all the blame on Lin's signing? He wasn't the only one that Smart didn't play. Bell and B Wright were also taking up roster spots. Not only that, but also taking up $4.4M and $3.4M salaries. To acquire a decent player, you not only need a roster spot but money too. Steinmetz has some serious biases against Lin.
those are great points guys. if you want to make your message heard then head on over to csnbayarea.com and post there. steinmetz actually reads his comments.
It is interesting that there is a perception of negativity around the JLin signing from the sports establishment. It's not just that his signing was so improbable, it is that fan reaction has been so positive. I also daresay that the perception that his fans are mostly Asian-American may also play into the perception that this is a PR fueled stunt. Unlike Yao, Jeremy is a pure skills player with average stature for a PG (not a freak of nature). Jeremy has his work cut out for him and he will only be able to slowly win converts the way he did Musselman.
I harbor no ill will towards Acie Law. He's a symptom, not a cause of the disease that is the Warriors. Like others on this site, I guess it's a matter of waiting to see what happens in the future. I do admit it's fun for me to see an Asian American player on the court, so I wouldn't mind if Lin ended up on Futurecast again, at least for a while.
If there's a lockout in the NBA, what would you think about him playing in front of crowds in Asia? Where would he go?
Guys,I think all of you should let go of JLin starting from now.As you know,he is an undrafted rookie so he deserves some garbage time as usual.Yeah,I know Jeremy is a defensive player but he just couldn't step up his game in his jumpers. If he is not able to hit jumpers, coach just wont put him in the game, and it is THAT SIMPLE!!!
Jason Kidd can't hit the side of of barn door and he's been in the league forever. In fact, why not trade for Aaron Brooks, Devin Harris, and Michael Redd and have five ball hogs as starters?
Steinmetz must think the fans are stupid. Most fans don't think that signing JLin is the sole cause for the Warrior's weak bench. Who could they have signed instead of Lin at a measley $400,000 a year, Chris Paul, DWill, Mike Conley ? Even an average PG like Carlos Arroyo or Anthony Carter would cost $3 million.
The sole cause of the Warriors roster makeup. David Lee's outrageous $60 million salary eating up cap space, so they can't get any better veteran free agents.
Seriously, NBA players don't like Jeremy because he's willing to do it ... FOR LESS.
Ultimately, I don't think Lin will get a fair shake with the Warriors until Smart and Law are gone.
Did you see the chest bump between Monta and Law yesterday?
Smart is probably too scared to confront Ellis and tell him what is obvious to everyone else:
- Law hurts the team and starters almost always end up digging out of a bigger hole than when they left
- Lin may not look pretty offensively, but he does not hurt the team, and actually helps it on occasion (e. g. defense sparked run when Lin and Udoh are in together)
Till Smart is coaching Law in the Latvian Basketball Association, I don't expect Lin to get a fair opportunity with this team.
Might actually even be better if he signed with another team, proved that he is indeed an NBA player, and possibly a starter a few years down the road, then come back to the Warriors once Lacob has truly cleaned house and removed all vestiges of previous organization.
Law seems to have better chemistry with Monta. You can tell this from watching the games, Lin gets hardly any touches when Monta holds the ball.
Even if Coach Smart was to change his mind and put Lin into the game in place of Law, Monta won't appreciate that.
The deciding factor here is that AC Law puts more points on the board. That's what Smart is looking for, not defense. He wants to put up points no matter what.
there shouldn't be any discussion or comparison between lin and law. lin's level right now is at worst, a capable backup point guard for any team. law on the other hand, shouldn't even be in the nba.
unfortunately, this organization's priority is politics and keeping everyone happy. lin makes the least, is a newcomer, and is an easy target as their scapegoat. fitz, steinz, and smart have all the reason to dog lin. it gives them an excuse for losing. but they are playing that care way too much. i would even bet they get kickbacks from the higher paid players.
HERE IS MY CONSPIRACY THEORY AS TO WHAT'S HAPPENING BEHIND THE SCENES: ELLIS IS PULLING DA STRINGS WITH SMART AS THE FRONTMAN; LAW IS JUST DA PAWN TO MAKE IT ALL WORK. THERE IS NO WAY ELLIS WILL ALLOW AN UNDRAFTED ROOKIE UPSTAGE HIM; BEFORE HE EVEN SUITED UP FOR A GAME HE BECAME MORE POPULAR THAN ELLIS COULD'VE EVER DREAMED; IMAGINE IF LIN GOT MORE PLAYING AND ACTUALLY PLAYED WELL;THIS THOUGHT PROBABLY SCARED DA SH*T OUTTA ELLIS SO HE GETS SMART TO HIRE LAW; STATS MAY LIE BUT VIDEO DOESN'T. LIN VIDEO + STATS > lAW VIDEO + STATS YET LAW GETS NO PLAYING TIME HENCE ALL THE RAMPANT SPECULATION. ELLIS KNOWS THAT LIN IS A SMART PT GUARD WHO WANTS TO WIN AND THIS IS NOT ELLIS' GAME PLAN HENCE THE DISHARMONY ON COURT; WITH LAW, ELLIS CAN HAVE A BUFFET; SMART NEEDS ELLIS SO HE PLAYS ALONG LIKE A GOOD LITTLE B*TCH; WHY ELSE WOULD SMART IGNORE ALL THE VIDEO AND STATS IN FRONT OF HIM? HE KNOWS HE'S PLAYING POLITICS. THE ELLIS/SMART SHOW BEING UPSTAGED BY AN UNDRAFTED ROOKIE FROM HARVARD AND HE'S ASIAN TO TOP THE INSULT. SOME CHOOSE TO THINK LIN'S LIMITED PLAYING TIME IS RESULT OF BAD PRACTICES BUT THE REVERSE CAN ALSO BE TRUE; LIN PLAYS WELL IN PRACTICE AND MAKE SOME PEOPLE NERVOUS. ELLIS KNOWS THE WARRIORS ARE NOT BUILT FOR CHAMPIONSHIP AND HEZ PADDING HIS STATZ; THATZ ALL HE CARES ABOUT; GOOD STATZ LEADS TO A BETTER CONTRACT ELSEWHERE. IF ELLIS IS HAVING BAD GAME, LIN WON'T PASS TO HIM OR LIN WILL MAKE THE BEST DECISION; THIS MUST DRIVE ELLIS CRAZY; LAW WILL PASS TO ELLIS EVERY CHANCE HE GETS; LIN IS PAYING PRICE FOR NOT PLAYING HIS PART. AS I'VE ALSO STATED BEFORE, RACISM IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY WHICH FUELS THE FIRE; RACISM PLUS POLITICS = DNP
Whether Jeremy plays or not, it won't matter for Jeremy personally, he's making six figures riding the bench, much more than what the average American makes. He's sitting pretty right now and doesn't have to sweat it out against a wild beast night in and night out other than at practice. Once he's done with the NBA, he'll probably get a corporate job at Google, Apple, or Wells Fargo with his Harvard degree.
Once again, Im guessing that Lin will again be on the DNP list this time as the Warriors is facing a good team The Celtics. No chance for Jeremy to play at all unless Smart changes his mind in a sudden which I think is impossible.

2 words: Keith Smart
ReplyDeleteunless Jeremy Lin changes his name to Acie Law, otherwise a big DNP - Coach's decision.
Yea man,it's all in the hands of Keith Smart to make that decision.Smart is just not impressed yet with Lin's performance. Lin gotta do somethings sick to make him believe in himself.
ReplyDeleteI think JLin will get some garbage time in this game. It should be a blow out. I am expecting a 20 point Celtics lead by halftime.
ReplyDeleteI think JLin will get into this game. But we will see. I have a stronger feeling that he will get DNP though because the game will be close. Celtics don't have any of there bigs so it'll be an easier game for the warriors to hang.

ReplyDelete:)
expecting a DNP tonight.
ReplyDeletelacob doesn't want to get off as a horrible owner to work for. he will play it safe for now. but smart's exile is imminent. so unfortunately, smart will have his ways til next season. lin will ride the bench til then. smart will play law heavy minutes and hope to win some games just to try and prove that his guy is better than lacob's guy. it's all or nothing to smart right now. so no matter how great lin performs, it will won't matter as far as getting minutes this season.
ReplyDeleteEverybody can relax and take the night off. Jeremy is not suited up.
ReplyDeleteLin is inactive. BOO!!!

Get Jerry Sloan as coach! Does anyone know how Jeremy Lin is playing in the practice skirmishes? I want to know if there is some logic behind Keith Smarts who dresses or not?
ReplyDeleteLaw dribbled the ball out of bounds.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Lin rule, he should have been pulled immediately and not gone one second of addition playing time for rest of game.
Gah no hope in watching the warriors play Lin :( Send him back to the dleague! Smart isn't using him at all and his boy Law is somewhat healthy no reason to keep him up!
ReplyDeleteGuess the only good thing that will come out of this game is that it is good for Jeremy to sit there and study Ray Allen's shooting form. lol
ReplyDeletethey are playing no defense and losing. good.
ReplyDeleteis to be expected, with the recent pick up of thornton, the chances of Lin playing is almost none.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, someone needs to egg Smart, he really needs to go.
All I can say about Lin is his career will be doomed if he keeps staying in the Warriors. He needs a trade real fast.
ReplyDeletesmart won't trade Lin, unless he wants to get fired.
ReplyDeleteall i can say is, i doubt he'll have a job at the end of the season, no matter what he does now.

ReplyDeleteLin not even on the active roster for today's game, according to Yahoo Sports.
ReplyDeleteOnly reason to watch game now is to enjoy Louis Williams torch Acie Law on pick and roll, over and over and over again:

:)
i see jeremy lin warming up. at least he is not in a suit
ReplyDeleteTwo plays and Louis Williams just completely blows by Law.
ReplyDeleteIt's like that midday Sacramento game where Law was basically a flat footed observer trailing play from behind and totally out of play.
Latvia is calling!
