great help d by lin! almost a steal but whatever. he got a good breakaway layup set up by a steal by bell. 2nd unit's d > first unit's o. i think smart is just now figuring it out. keep it up smart!
this is the one time i felt the crowds made lin miss a jump shot. i'm all for crowds cheering him on even when he touches the ball but please keep quiet when he is about to make a jumper!
C'mon... lets not blame the crowd for the missed jumper. It was a good shot, I think it was going to go in if it wasn't for the Offensive of interference no call *wink wink
So from when Lin plays it seems obvious Keith Smart only gives the bench more playing time on a back to back. Or a blow out. I wonder if lin will get playing time tomorrow against Utah.
But I am glad that Lin got in and Bell also got some playing time. I still don't know what Bell did to get benched below Law?
Wow, 19 mins for Charlie Bell? Maybe the Warriors are shopping him around for the trade deadline?
Coach still should have taken the starters out earlier, like when they were up by 20 with 7 mins left. I'm still not a fan of the last 3 minutes garbage time. There's not much you can prove during that time because there isn't any quality/team basketball being played.
That jumpshot had a very slow release. It bounced off the front of the rim, so there's very little chance it would have bounced in. Yes, Wright did offensive interfere with it, but I've seen Dwight Howard do it all the time, and in Euroleague that is a legal tip in.
Overall a good game. Maybe coach Smart will finally see a reason to put the subs in during games to rest Curry and Ellis a few minutes. But I'm worried about Dorell Wright he is playing too many minutes, because there's no backup SF to sub in for him.
Relax, it's garbage time, by then the other team has given up playing and can't wait to get on the team bus.
smart will do anything to play anyone ahead of lin. he just don't want to be proven wrong since he essentially said lin isn't nba material from the very beginning. if lin succeeds, it would make smart eat his words.
I'm surprised Lin couldn't shut down the Hornet's Jarett Jack. They have the same speed and style, but Jack is a veteran point guard so that gave him an edge.
Lin also had the ball stolen by Jack on a possession.
highlights are here, you can see lin's fastbreak layup in the beginning of the second and the alleyoop end of the game http://www.youtube.com/user/gumbyorpokey#p/u/0/Nzv8VsYw5c4
@Whitman: Jarrett Jack is a good player and could probably start for some NBA teams right now. He played JLin tough and proved that Jeremy has got to hit the weight room and get stronger.
Word is definitely out that JLin likes to penetrate and defenders collapse on him fairly early in his drives. Compared to the D-League, the response time is a lot quicker as we saw from the game, though his second penetration was successful. I think he should pop up for a jumper in many of those cases right when he passes the foul line, but that's a shot he hasn't taken much of even in the D-League. He usually goes for a jumper when he is set or moving perpendicular to the basket once he gets his defenders in the air.
A lot of NBA guards don't have good jumpshots. Brandon Jennings, John Wall, Rajon Rondo, but they find the open man once they get double teamed. That's also another way to beat the defense.
btw @Jimmy , your blog is lame. I found no useful information on it whatsoever.
I found a highlight vid of the whole game and it has a lot of Jeremy in it. If you want to skip over to the Jeremy Lin parts go to 1:08-2:07 and then 8:35 to end of vid. The only thing it leaves out is Jeremy's layup in traffic but it does have his lob pass to Brandan for the alley-oop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nzv8VsYw5c4
It was just one game. A game in which Curry, Radmanovic, Ellis, Wright were shooting hot from behind the arc. Normally that is not the case, 2 or 3 guys will be in a collective shooting slump and the defense will play a zone.
This time the 3's were falling. So the lane was open for easy baskets.
The team needs to move the ball better, and taking it inside when they are not shooting so hot. They should not be relying on Monta to score by himself.
lol. lin is such a hog. must have gotten it from monta. in that first layup, bell stole the ball on the defensive end, led the fastbreak, and then passed it to lin *hoping to get it back. but never received his reward. then moments later, in an exact same play, lin led the fastbreak but never handed it off to bell and committed the turnover. i lmao! i like his attitude and it's good to see that he is looking out for himself out there but at the same time it cost him. i bet he got a mouthful from bell last night in the locker room.
anyone remember his games in the dleague? there were many times when lin and another bighorn player went for the rebound and lin rips the ball out of his teammate's hands? it was hilarious seeing charlos' expression.
lin is in!!!
ReplyDelete.. at 7 seconds left just so monta doesn't pick up another foul. but i think he will start the next quarter. lin was good playing defense on paul btw.
There is a JLin sighting! Now lets not get too excited, LOL.

ReplyDeleteNice exchange with JLin and Charlie Bell!
ReplyDeleteToo tentative there! Must feel good to get that lay up though
ReplyDeletelin still in!!
ReplyDeletebell playing some good d
ReplyDeletesmart pulls lin for curry. the rest of the bench still in the ball game :(
ReplyDeletei like that confident jump shot. It didnt go in but there was zero hesitation!

ReplyDeleteI found a link for today's game :
ReplyDeletehttp://zensproduction.blogspot.com/2011/02/golden-state-warriors-vs-new-orleans.html
the starters managed to sustain the lead. it's a good time to give them a breather.
ReplyDeletewhy not rest the starters with the big lead to end the 3rd quarter, moron coach
ReplyDeletethat's not a problem, lin is a better defender than curry and monta. he just needs to keep doing his thing and allow the starters get some rest
ReplyDeleteI think we will see Lin shortly for 2-3 minutes...
ReplyDeletebell playing great tonight. defense, rebounding, and jumpers. looks like smart is going to start him now. lol
ReplyDeletebut seriously, congrats to bell for tonight's performance
lin is in!!
ReplyDeleteamerica's favorite garbage time player just got called for a travel
huge rebound by lin. but he failed the fast break. lol
ReplyDeletenice drive with the left and beat 3 players for a nice bank-layup
ReplyDeleteawesome lob pass! looks like lin REALLY wants to impress tonight. he's trying real hard every minutes
ReplyDeleteGood to see that Lin can still get by his man (granted, it is garbage time and first unit may not be in), even at NBA level.
ReplyDeleteCoach Musselman said Lin could get to the rim driving to right at will (D-League competition).
Also looks like he has another gear when he gets out in transition.
Charlie Bells intensity tonight ... lets say he brought it to another level on D. I want to see Lin do that...

Jimmy, your comments are being deleted because you are a spammer. Your website has very little to do with JLin. Quit spamming this forum.

doubt any team is scouting lin to figure how to defend against him. they just look at his minutes.

thanks but damn, that's one long hightlight reel. the layup off his dribble penetration was sick. gotta try and locate that one.
ReplyDeleteOn the Fitz and Brooks radio show today, Fitz actually said that the Warriors have legitimate subs in Udoh, Radmanovic, Lin, and Bell.
ReplyDeleteIt was just one game. A game in which Curry, Radmanovic, Ellis, Wright were shooting hot from behind the arc. Normally that is not the case, 2 or 3 guys will be in a collective shooting slump and the defense will play a zone.

Thanks real-dsb! Anyone have the second-half drive?
ReplyDeleteHey real-dsb, Fitz also said the Warriors have the worst bench in the league. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope Lin sees some good minutes tonight.
I found a link for Warrior vs Jazz game today->
