Is this the last hurrah for Jlin as a Warrior? Curry, Biedrins, and Gadzuric most likely will be back Saturday meaning Lin doesn't suit up, is sent to d-league, or is waived around January 10.
Thinking he'll get some run tonight. He, Ellis, and yes, Law showed good energy with Udoh to back them up.
Whatever happens in the future, hoping #7 does well.
This may be the last time we see J-lin in a Warriors Uniform. For the love of god, someone please fire that newb coach Keith Dumb!...Its really ugly to watch the warriors play late in the 4th quarters of games. Why on earth would you yank out the 2nd squad who led a comeback from down 6 to up 4 with 5 minutes remaining only to have the starters give up 8 unanswered points so obviously. If J-Lin gets sent to the D-league which I hope, thats great! At least that way, he could be on a better team instead of the warriors who always seem to give up on rookies, who later become starters on othe teams. I want my refund for my season tickets! And off with Keith Dumb's head!
Looks like no minutes for Jeremy Lin tonight :( I wonder why coach Smart left the team's leading scorer, Monta Ellis out ... maybe to show how great AC Law is running the team. LOL.
I think that's the GSW strategy from now on ... tank the games, keep the score close for appearances sake, but lose. You start to see the starters like Ellis and Wright get less minutes. The playoffs are pretty much out of reach, so why not get that No. 1 draft pick?
wow. i cannot believe some of you guys are calling monta a ballhog. dang, trash on Acie Law all you want because he is garbage but to call monta a ballhog is just wrong. on that first fastbreak, dorrell wright was a good 3 step behind monta and with the score the way it is, him, being the best player on the team has to try to finish the play; on that second fastbreak, the defender never stopped the ball until the monta elevate, and monta got to the line both times, what's wrong with that? and oh ya, monta led the comeback and led the team in assists as well. it's sad to see how biased some of you guys are... i'm a JLin fan myself but take off those biased glasses for a second and look at the game from a neutral point of view.
I'm not saying Monta has no value. He's a very talented scorer. Among the best in the league.
However, objectively he does have ballhogging tendencies. That's not always a bad thing as you often want the ball in your best scorer's hands. But the best players and the real winners and champions know how to pass also. It's the little things that can separate a great scorer from a great complete player.
i took off my "biased glasses" but i still don't see monta passing the ball on a 3 on 1 fastbreak after watching the replay. actually he's been like this throughout his career. and it hasn't helped the team.
Greivis Vasquez, the hispanic rookie pg given decent minutes to develop in Memphis, yet a much worse Warriors team has no room to develop their younger talent? Xavier Henry is even starting over the juice since he is struggling. If it were over here with a certain coach, he'd just use the hope pray method for a better next game or better game after that, etc. etc. They were also smart enough to see absolutely nothing in Acie Law yet again a certain coach...
BTW, I'm guessing Memphis was the "Eastern Conference team" interested in signing Lin last summer. He even worked out for them pre-draft.
I'd rather see Lin go to D-League than be inactive on a horrible team. Let Lin put up fancy numbers for Reno, and work on finishing moves at the rim. And then, once Smart is fired/humbled and Law is revealed for what he is (lifetime scrub), he can be called up and go on a Reggie-like run in the spring.
Just in time for the John Wall Rematch in March...

Lin also worked out for the New York Knicks who are doing surprisingly good this season. I wouldn't put it past them to try to sign Lin for marketing purposes.
I think there is some conflict going on between Coach Smart and the owner Lacob. How else would you explain Lin getting minutes at Oracle arena while the owner is watching ... but gets no minutes the next game ?
I think Lacob is the one keeping Jeremy on the team, while Smart is trying to find reasons to get rid of him.
Check out Smart's pathetic attempt to brag about a OT win at home against a 5-20 team:
“The way these teams have matched up up historically when they play each other, never mind what the teams’ records are, they play hard against each other."
Thankfully, Lacob is already talking about making drastic moves -- "We will make changes to improve any aspect of the team." Smart's dumb ass will be canned by season's end for sure. Maybe sooner?
"Lacob asked for patience: 'Don't blame the new ownership group for the sins of the past. Give us a chance to fix the situation.'"
Lacob is very savvy and ultra-careful with his words. Note how he says not to blame the "new ownership group" and not "the new team." And that means Nellie-era relics like Smart and his coaches are on his sh*t-list.
has anyone calculated how many minutes lin gets at home vs away? is he just a marketing scheme for the warriors to increase ticket sales? he needs to get outta that team and find an owner and a coach who wants the best for him
Lacob wanted Lin for his skills (was a fan since high school). Riley and Rowell probably just wanted him for marketing (Riley didn't even offer Lin a spot on the SL team).

ReplyDeletelaw got absolutely rejected

ReplyDeleteGSW guards have turned Udrih into Isiah Thomas. How about bringing in Lin for some defense? Stopping the other team wins games.

ReplyDeleteMonta with 2 on the fast break against 1 King, drew the foul, couldn't even give up the rock, typical ball hog.
ReplyDeleteAnother layup and 3 point play for Udrih, who has exactly zero quickness and athleticism. No defense from GSW guards.

ReplyDeleteEllis held it again on the next 2 on 1 fast break.

oh yeah, monta is a big defensive liability too.
Agree there,s no need to trash anyone. It's clear that it's time for Lin to move on. Makes it easier to root for the W's. It was a nice win.

ReplyDeletePooh Jeter got good minutes for the Kings tonight. Too bad Lin isn't on that team. He's got to get out. I wonder how good his agent is.
