JLin In In 1st Quarter!!!

  1. and 2nd too!! i take back everything i said about Smart. backing Curry up with Lin tonight instead of Williams was the right choice so far. they aren't losing anything but gained a bit. this is great awesome. gj coach Keith Brilliant

  2. Lin playing well, the Raptors zone defense is tough

    ReplyDelete
  3. He's playing great D and running the floor well. The only thing is that the Rap switched to zone and JL has not confidence in his jumper yet. Missed a open one with the shot-clock ticking down.

  4. Lin in for Monta with Curry back.

    ReplyDelete
  5. OMG was that Lin with a monster block?

    ReplyDelete
  6. YEP. Lin with 2 blocks so far

    ReplyDelete
  7. Curry just hurt his ankle AGAIN. Lin had to foul because Curry couldn't even get back.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Stupid NBA League Pass blacking out this game! Ugh!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. LOL. Just like I predicted. Curry playing so much will be blessing in disguise to Lin.

All JL needs to do is develop a decent jumper. He can't finish because they know he's can't hit the mid-range shot.

  10. wow Jlin getting a lot of minutes. I'm not so impressed however. He doesn't look the same as he was in summer league but he'll learn. He needs to make plays by passing more. He doesn't seem to know how to play point guard in the NBA yet.

  12. you guys can watch the game here btw. Its halftime though

  13. "He doesn't look the same as he was in summer league but he'll learn."

That because this is the real NBA, son. Players that are both experienced, savvy, and super athletes. Also, his jumper isn't falling so they're happy to play zone and prevent a lot of playmaking.

  14. Lin played great basketball that first half. 4 FTA, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and 3 assists in 14 minutes? That has to earn him some playing time.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jlin making some great contributions. This should be an easy win for the Dubs.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It's too early to say he doesn't have a mid jumper. He only took 1 shot and that was with the shot clock winding down. 1 too many pass by the dubs on that play. To the person saying "he needs to make plays by passing more", I don't know what you are watching! He needs to look for his own shots more and Steph and Monta needs to look to pass to Lin more.

  17. Chinese Night audience getting their moneys worth!!! ^^

  18. Jeezus, Smart stop taking Lin out whenever he makes a single TO!

    ReplyDelete
  19. well, im not complaining. smart putting Lin in to backup curry tonight was a great decision

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think Lin is done for tonight unless garbage time arrives with a big lead. Very nice showing. Still has a long way to go, but he looked like a legit NBA player -- especially defensively.

    ReplyDelete
  21. coach smart. "who wants to play"

    everybody. "memememe!!"

coach smart. "um, williams. you in!"

    ReplyDelete
  22. Warriors blowing the lead with Curry unable to defend whatsoever.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ellis goes down hard with a back injury. Curry playing on a sore ankle. Lin will get his minutes in the next few weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Curry played a great game, especially toward the end. However, they could have rested Ellis a bit more. The dude is playing almost all 45 minutes of the game. Even MJ gets a break...playing that minutes, one is bound to get hurt...like he did toward the end today.

    ReplyDelete
  25. What was that bull Sh*t in the 3rd?

    Lin: Pick
    ...no movement
    Lin: Pick
    ...no movement
    Lin: wtf?
Lin: Monta, I guess I'm supposed to pass the ball to you
    Monta: huh?
    ...turnover

Keep your head up Lin, its been 63 years since the last AA pro baller, not a single division I scholarship offer, so you know it's not going to be easy. You could tell he was pissed though.

2 steals (of course), nice drive to the basketball, 3 assists, expanded his game even further with 2 big blocks, not bad.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i'm impress with lin. he's definitely a defensive player something the warriors never excel at. he just need to out there and play his game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Crap, it kinda looked like Ellis suffered a ruptured achilles tendon based on the way he spazzed. I really hope not, I'm a Warriors fan, this is the best start to a season in 5 years!
    *sigh*

Great game by Lin, I hope there's a lot more to come from him. Hope all is well for Ellis, it's never pleasant to see an athlete hurt.

  28. @ LOL.

    i lol'd as well...and i'm at work. teehee.

  29. Someone got link of highlights of Lin tonite?

    ReplyDelete
  30. i'm still taken away by that block. would have been in the highlights if another player wasn't in the way. looking forward to more of these

    ReplyDelete
  31. Highlights anyone?

  33. jlin could have easily had two more steals and two more assists in that first half. he showed his ability to manage the floor. the trail pass for the three was high level. everything was very simple and fluid for the warriors when he was in. i believe jlin may actually be able to affect the game and run the team better when he plays without ellis and curry because they are so ball dominant. once he hits one or two outside shots i think this will really start getting fun. rumor has it that cbell took over wingstop duty for jlin tonight... .

    ReplyDelete
  34. I misee the game. Is there a link to JL's highlights for this game?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lin knocked down several jumpers, including a 3, in that summer league game against John Wall. He did make those jumpers off the dribble, not off the catch n' shoot.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm not saying he can't shoot. Just saying that he doesn't have confidence in it right now. He's more focused on running the point and not turning it over. Everyone has some kind of rookie hiccups -- shaky jumpers are the most common.

    ReplyDelete
  37. you did say he can't shoot. and you just said it again.. "Everyone has some kind of rookie hiccups -- shaky jumpers are the most common". lol. the clock was winding down, he was passed the ball with 2 seconds to do something. it was his only attempt so his shooting ability based on this game alone is not even something worth mentioning. it just seems very odd to me hearing this. it's kinda like hearing someone say, "that rookie played in his first meaningful minutes and took one shot and missed.. he doesn't have a midrange jumper, must be a rookie hiccup". wait a minute, that's exactly what you are saying. duh. it's like trying so hard to find a fault in his game and failing miserably.

if anything, he is playing too unselfish. if that's what you meant, then i agree.

    ReplyDelete
  38. JLin doesn't get much playing time, but is very productive. Among rookies: steals 2nd, blocked shots 2nd and assists 5th:

    ReplyDelete
  39. Not to mention more blocks than Blake Griffin so far!

    ReplyDelete
  40. i'll throw in my two cents: lin hasn't shown anyone that he can shoot. he's shown that he can do a lot of other things, but the onus is on him to start knocking down some jumpers.

plus the form on his shoot is odd, which doesn't help his cause.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't think much about Lin getting playing time anymore, but I guess "In Keith Smart We Trust" lol. People take too much stock into scoring, as if other stats didn't exist. Sometimes, it's the hustle plays and steals that can turn the tide of a game. They are usually just as important, if not more, than just scoring.

  42. video highlights anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Damn, defensive stats per minute, he's the best on the team this game.

    here is a clip...

    ReplyDelete
  45. That clip was funny, Jlin has the ball, and everyone on the W's just stands around, when he's asking for a pick. Then he just throws it out in trying to pass to a guarded Monte, who's not moving at all.

I hate when you play PG and no one on the team moves like that.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Here is a nice highlight edit for the whole game and there are two nice Lin assists in it:

    ReplyDelete
  47. thanks for sharing the highlights, jlin looked very comfortable out there making plays, breaking the defense down, and pushing tempo. exactly what the dubs need in a backup PG.

this team is unlike past warrior teams with the big egos, the melodrama, and unrealized "potential". it is truly refreshing to watch - the unselfishness, the extra pass, the tenacity and teamwork on d, owning the glass, and supporting one another. if they keep this spirit together they will surprise a lot of teams expecting the same old dubs. nice start to the season! very winnable games on this trip but still waiting to hear on monta.

    ReplyDelete
  54. anybody get a clip of Jlin's windmill on barbosa? i need to see that again!

  62. I have a suggestion:

Can this website put up videos of every game Lin plays in?

Since Lin doesn't play 30-40 minutes/game, you could post the entire period he plays in.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I don't think this game vs. Toronto was televised. The only video clips we have are from low quality home video shot by fans sitting in the 30th row.

Just watching the blurry video makes me dizzy :(

    ReplyDelete
  64. The NBA is very strict with their product. If there are highlights on NBA.com, we can link to it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. highlights were posted above, it was televised in the bay area on csn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOhbOHOIh4I

  66. jlin will do better without monta and possibly also without curry on the floor, but particularly without monta. You saw it tonight when monta and jlin almost grabbed the same rebound but monta got it and jlin jumped ahead of him on the wing. monta should have kicked it ahead to jlin instead no kick up and no fastbreak. monta doesn't trust jlin and probably won't because he really wont understand jlins game. monta understands and appreciates one thing. scoring. but he doesn't truly understand team play or the nuance and timing of it. jlin's ideal line up is biedrins lee wright and either reggie, carney, or radmonovich. he needs to be part of a defensive minded package that can get steals and boards and run and where jlin can be the one controlling the ball in the open court. ideally he would get a chance with this type of line-up for a few minutes a quarter or half and if they do well leave them in a little longer. if they don't, then bring back the monta and curry. jlin WILL NOT be able to score anywhere near the level of curry or monta so why even think about it. BUT, he will be able to run a defensive minded squad for a few minutes a game with some overlap with the regulars if his squad were to start flowing -- on a squad like this he will apt to be more offensive minded too becuase he won't have to defer to monta or curry. hopefully, keith is smart enough to realize this. When he jlin did such a nice job in the Laker game, monta and curry were not factors in the come back -- in fact when jlin went out and monta came back the warriors immediately went into the tank. monta is not a good 10pts+ down player.
