The Warriors(4-2) lose to Detroit 102-97. The game was right there for the taking but too much careless mistakes over the course of the game, did them in.
Jeremy Lin suited up but didn't get into the game. With Steph Curry looking like his ankle is still bothering him, and Charlie Bell being totally ineffective in his last few games, the Toronto game could be a good time to give JLin some minutes. He would match up well against Jarrett Jack or Jose Calderon. Actually, Jack is a player that I've compared JLin with in regards to his size and statistics. I believe that Jeremy is more athletic and will eventually be at least as good a player as Jarrett Jack is currently. They need to give Brandon Wright a lot more playing time as well.
dang hopefully calderon doesn't kill us like he did last year
ReplyDeleteWas Detroit supposed to be a beatable team?
ReplyDeleteLot of Asians in Toronto too, I wonder if they'll show up and cheer Jeremy? either way, Toronto's PGs would be a good matchup for Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteI don't even know why Charlie Bell was traded to the Warriors. He doesn't seem like the prototype player that would fit in their system.
It's Asian Heritage Night at the Toronto Raptors vs Warriors game (Nov 8). I'm wearing my JLin7 shirt and i hope he does play tonight!!
ReplyDeleteDetroit was 1-5 going into the game against the Warriors.
ReplyDeleteWarriors fans were really stoked about their 4-1 record. But all 4 wins came at home. Any team on the road is hard to beat, it doesn't matter what their record is. On their homecourt opponents will hit more shots and get more calls going their way.
ReplyDeleteAs a lifelong Toronto Raptors fan, and a fan of Jeremy Lin's, I think that Lin could be better than Jack someday. Jack always looks for his own shot first, and he doesn't seem to have the same basketball IQ as Jeremy Lin will have when he's Jack's age. Sure Jack can be a good scorer and occasionally a good defender and distributor, but I still think that Jeremy Lin has the potential to be more consistent than Jarret Jack.
ReplyDeleteTrue, homecourt opponents will hit more shots and get more calls going their way. But Warrior fans are just excited to have any wins.
ReplyDeleteWins are pretty hard to come by for Warrior fans, and it's great just to actually have a chance to get some victories.
"Golden State Warriors update: Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis have a tough time defending Detroit Pistons guard duo."
ReplyDeletehttp://www.insidebayarea.com/warriors/ci_16552758
Haha, even the hometown reporters know this. Curry and Ellis, unless they combine for 50, allow just as many points against top guards. Curry's too frail and afraid of injury. Ellis is small and just gambles for the steal. JL deserves a chance to defend if nothing else. He's 6-4 200+ lbs. (I say 6-4 because most players inflate their height while Lin is actually 6-3 without shoes). Curry and Ellis are 6-3 185. If JL can stay in front of Wall, he can stay in front of Calderon and Jack.
Based on my Jlin minutes matrix, there's little chance we will see the once and future king for any substantial amount of time tonight -- unless we are down heavy, heavy: see asiancaucasian's minutes matrix criterion #3. we needed to win last night to guarantee us a jlin look tonight. expect to be fed a steady diet of the CLC (Coach-Lin-Coach)bench sandwich. only thing we got in our favor is that it's AsianCaucasian Night in Toronto but if there's a Wingstop or a Lin-N-Out, you know our boy will be on the bench so they can sneak him out a little early to set up the post game banquet. 100 pieces Atomic, 100 pieces Cajun, 50 Original Hot and 25 Double-Doubles with Cheese, Jlin!
ReplyDeleteSMART
ReplyDelete"Jeremy, I think you're ready for your first major PT."
LIN
"Really?!"
SMART
"Yes. Go to wingstop and get us a sweet Party Tray."
LIN
"..."
SMART
"You made a big, big jump tonight."
LIN
"Shoulda gone to the Lakers..."
SMART
"What's that?"
LIN
I said, um...you want dipping sauce?
haha. yes, that might be the only kind of PT jlin gets this season... unfortunately.
ReplyDeletehistory will crown david lee "the tip-in king."
ReplyDeletewhen he's on the perimeter he should just try deflecting passes into the basket.
^ LMFAO @ that lil Lin-Smart skit!! ahahaha So, tru! "Should've gone to the Lakers...." Classic!
ReplyDeleteLIN IS IN. ALREADY!!
ReplyDeleteHe already made two strong drives, one of which resulted in an assist-dunk to Wright. He also closed on Barbosa who missed a feet-set 3 to end the first quarter.
OMFG Lin sees 1st quarter actions!!
ReplyDeleteAnd made the best of it too!! I'm so happy
Lin is in! And, he is balling!
ReplyDeleteLike I predicted in my matrix earlier, Lin will play tonight because there is no Wingstop in Toronto, it's AsianCaucasian Night, and the Warriors need a true PG.
rice to go?
ReplyDeleteJL gets his first NBA block! It was on a below-the-shoulder smother, but still nice.
ReplyDeleteplay jeremy and with curry in backcourt versus zone.
ReplyDeleteRice and Curry will tear this shit up!
