In two years, the Lakers will desperately be looking for a point guard. Fisher will be retired and Blake will be getting older, too. So I feel like these Laker games are also "auditions" for JL should he get better and the Ws not have minutes for him.
yep, i felt lin made a bad decision passing up on the lakers. their game is a perfect fit for him. they play defense and the coach rewards players who hustles and make smart plays.
Well, I don't know if it's a bad decision yet -- Monta or Curry may very well be traded at midseason or season's end. So if Lin can become a quality backup by then, he'll have a chance to win a 6th man or even starter's job during next season.
On the other hand, if the Dubs keep both Curry AND Monta, then yeah.
Good point on Lakers needing a quality PG...but they need more of a half-court set kind of guy whereas Jeremy is all about the fast break. That's probably why they're happy with guys like Fisher and Blake.
hmm. i don't think lin is all about fast breaks. sure he takes off after a steal for breakaway but when he gets the ball from the inbound, he usually tries to set up a half court play.
Curry might be the worst defender in the NBA. Unless he scores 30 (or an efficient 20+), he actually hurts his team. Seriously, even small non-scoring guards tear him up for career highs. At least Monta gives effort.
Well, it's 31 now. And Monta just went down with an injury...Lin coming in???
Jeez, why NOT put Lin in now? He did relatively well against the Lakers last time so doesn't it make sense to put him in again? The way Warriors are playing tonight, I cannot see them coming back to win this, especially now that Monta is hurt. He's not producing numbers tonight anyway.
Anonymous 8:05PM, as much as I want Lin to get minutes the Warriors cannot afford to lose Ellis or Monta! If anything, I hope with these string of injuries Smart will finally get the clue to not overwork his starters at the beginning of the season as many have pointed out.

dubs starters < laker's 2nd unit
ReplyDeleteWarriors already getting killed -- down 16 after one quarter. No defense by anyone, lol.
ReplyDeletePUT LIN IN. Nothing to lose. At least he'll get you a steal or something.
when lakers lead big, everybody gets love.. even derrick character
ReplyDeleteI think Smart should play Lin at PG and Curry at the 2. They might get going if Curry can focus on shooting and Lin on defense and passing.

ReplyDeletewow monta is like a fly to gasol
ReplyDeleteIs the magic number 30 points down before Smart puts in Lin?
ReplyDeleteLin is all about the fast break? since when? LOL
ReplyDeleteput in lin!, it cant get any worse
ReplyDeleteLacob to Smart.. "I'm NOT impressed!"
ReplyDeletelooks like smart won't put JLin in unless both of the starting guards can't play...

sucks to come in on an injury like this..
ReplyDeletehope monta is ok
seems to be ok. but i blame smart for playing monta too many minutes every night.
ReplyDeleteBell in before Lin...gimme a break.
ReplyDeleteLin's butt is glued to his seat
ReplyDeleteKinda glad he's overplaying Monta and Curry. By the time Lin's ready to play major minutes, at least one of them will be out for weeks.

ReplyDeletedon't jump on me for this but... i think smart LOVES bell
ReplyDeletefinally lin is coming in
ReplyDeleteLIN IS IN!
ReplyDeleteinstant defense..
ReplyDeleteand offense. nice j
he made a jumper!
ReplyDeletehis jumper does look weird
ReplyDeleteaw lin made some pretty bad shot attempts
ReplyDeleteNot really. They're good attempts, not forced -- just not going down. Needs to improve that.
ReplyDeleteLin has always had a unorthodox release. The last 3 point attempt was rushed because of the shot clock.
ReplyDeletethis is his big moment. he has to make those easy open attempts
ReplyDeletewhat a sequence. reverse layup and then an assist off a one on one breakdown
ReplyDeletevideo post?
